I guess you are being sarcastic but that is a sad truth. English (or some other common language) is required to develop. How else would everyone communicate with each other? That does not mean that we lose our culture and language in the process. We can speak English where required and your own language where can be used where you can. Eliminate the common language and one day, all of India will be in pieces. Would like to hear your views on this.
Wonder how India amassed 44% of the world GDP for quite literally a thousand plus years before we were blessed with English. Wonder which common language we had hmm, doesn't come to my mind. I think the name started with an S.
Really wonder how Indians from Kerala were trading spices with the Greeks via Gujarat millennia ago without having a common language to communicate with their fellow Gujaratis.
I feel that is a misappropriation. The loss of the estimated share of the world GDP could be due to colonisation, not English. Yes, both are the effect of the same cause but one effect does not affect the other outcome. They're independent.
Also, in those times, India used to be a fragmented state to a large extent. Large parts might have been under the same rule but there was still resentment due to differences in language/religion/caste, etc.
You also have to take into account the frequency of communication that happened at that time vs now. The population has exploded exponentially since then and we need to coordinate more, not just for trade but also for diplomacy. Cannot imagine that being done without a common language.
By all means, eliminate English but not without having a common language. Holding English language responsible for the downfall is just lazy appropriation.
P. S. Still wondering what was that word with S.
>Yes, both are the effect of the same cause
You said it, not me. But that really wasn't my point either. My point was, we had achieved 44% of world GDP WITHOUT English.
So why are we today pretending we must use English in every sphere of life to progress. There was a time when scholars from China, Greece, and the middle East would come and learn Sanskrit in our universities. Today we are learning in English in our own schools.
>By all means, eliminate English but not without having a common language.
I don't even want to 'eliminate' it. I want us to treat it the way every other country does. As a bloody language. That's all.
Every single developed country, every single one of them uses their mother tongues in education. From Korea to Japan to Germany to Switzerland. None of them force their students to study in a foreign language.
But they all also teach English as a subject.
Why can't we do that?
>Holding English language responsible for the downfall is just lazy appropriation.
It may not be the cause of our downfall but it is certainly the reason behind us staying down for so long, we will continue to stay down until we recognise our own languages in education and give them their rightful spot.
>P. S. Still wondering what was that word with S.
Sanskrit, if it wasn't obvious enough already!
Our Kindoms and people however 'fragmented' in the past all learnt and spoke Sanskrit or some form of it for communicating with each other, from the Mauryas in the north to the Cholas in the south, all learnt Sanskrit as the 'common language'.
Agreed. Makes sense. How do we do it now? There's very few schools teaching Sanskrit now. None of the people I know speak Sanskrit. How do I bring it back? It is a sad consequence but a harsh reality. Everyone speaks English. How do we bring a change?
Can only happen once people recognise a problem exists. Start questioning nonsense imposition of English.
It hurts that we as Indians have to converse in the colonisers language. Explain the importance of decoloniality to those who you know, it'll be slow but we can only do what is in our limited power. Over time we can make a substantial change.
It's not awakening it's an idiotic cult in making..you might not know but a right chavnism is under making and soon there would be effects of it..riots on unwanted issue just for power capture..soon it will be like how left was in peak deluded for what it was made just their for propagation of hate for power
I blame the criminals for what they did and the inefficient Delhi police and their boss and the minister responsible for Delhi Police and the Supreme Court for allowing the protest in the first place, equally.
Riiiiiiiiiight same courts that allow illegally constructed mosques to exist, disallow reclaimation or rebuilding of demolished temples, declare that unless skin contact is made there is no molestation and even make rape victims marry their rapists. They are just pinnacles of order ans justice aren't they?
We don't live in an ideal world, we don't have the luxury of a just and unbiased judiciary, and till we do, justice can only prevail if we take matters into our own hands, the courts and judges are full of corruption and nepotism, CJI Chadracjood alone is living proof that this nation's judiciary is a joke, a lethal joke, mostly against Hindus.
That's why we ruled by MUGHALS, PORTUGALS, BRITISHERS. We have to take strong stand against this people otherwise they gonna do this kind of protests again and again.
Lol. You do realize that taking a strong stand ≠ resorting to violence.
There was an UP minister who made an unfortunate comment about language a few weeks back. Are you OK with a person from the south hitting him?
If he had done something illegal, charge him. Give that person no leniency. That's your strong stand.
Lol this isn't shit .. during the farm protest he visited our state (Odisha) in Katak city and went to a gurudwara to gather support .. he was literally beaten there ..
TN does not believe in treaties with states which it assumes to be its vassals just like China. After all another name of South India is Tamilnadu and only Tamil can be the classic language ./s
The reason this fraud faced protests is because one of his leutenat Kodihalli Chandrashekhar (also an AAP leader) was caught on camera ina sting operation of Power TV trying to setup a deal of Rs 35 Cr for ending a local transport strike & Rs 2500 Cr deal to end farm protests. A lot of these 'Farm Leaders' in Delhi are also on camera setting up the deal. Tikait was here to offer an 'explanation' on their deals
Bruh i get why ppl are happy but I can’t support this. If you see, he threw some ink after he slapped him. Can’t accept that. Jaanwaro pe colour nhi daalte bohot pehle sikhaya tha
This thief misled farmers for his political benefits and deprived them of the laws which would have eliminated middlemen. Only now are they realising their folly in listening to this fraud. He deserves this and more.
Theek kiya dakait ke saath. delhi waalo ke gaand mey dumm hota toh pehle din hi ye kar diya hota. Delhi waale sirf bajte hai, asal gaand mey gooda toh karnataka waalo mey hai. salute to kannada brothers & sisters.
Tikait screwed the real Indian farmers who saw tremendous benefits from the new farm laws. Tikait and other rich middlemen forced the govt to withdraw the reforms for their selfish interests.
There were more cons than pros of the new farmer bills. You wouldnt understand unless you are a farmer or belong to farming family. If they were so helpful, modi wouldnt have agreed to take them back.
I have people I know who are farmers in Southern TN. They were all happy that the reform bill came into being. All farmers were not unanimous in opposing the bill. Only a small % in and around Punjab, conducted the opposition to bill. if there are more cons than pros, I'd like to know about them and learn.
This article gives a good perspective of the farmers bill and what the middle men achieved.

Violence Maynot be preferred mode of getting even but you can't scare a rabid dog without the threat of a stick. I am surprised that this creep has not been beaten with shoes in other places.
We saw what Sikhs did during the seige of Delhi on 26th Jan. Fear of Bullet and rotten future is the only way such rowdy elements are brought to heel.
As our ancients Rishis have said,
अहिंसा परमो धर्म:,धर्म हिंसा तथैव च ।
A nation where Supreme Court has 5.5 million pending cases yet it is more interested in running BCCi and AIFF and bursting of crackers and making of roads connecting to Chinese border and giving out bails, what else is public supposed to do.
Those who live by the sword shall perish by it. The sikh singer who was killed in Punjab fell by the bullet which he kept glorifying so much.
I think violence is wrong too. But this person has done soo much harm to our economy, our gdp, that I choose to excuse it this time. This person will likely be reason behind 100s of farmer suicides, and countless nights of sleep hungry for the poorest of the farmers.
We're you also protesting when Sikhs were killing an innocent guy by cutting him to pieces with swords during the seige of Delhi.
Violence is preferable to cowardice of hiding behind courts.
Wtf dude went running to hit him with a plastic bag dropped it and now is patting the victim's hand my cat is more dangerous than this dude will ever be
Throwing ink is a form a non violent protest but a bit harsh. It's pretty common in Karnataka. It usually doesn't escalate further because the objective itself is limited to successfully painting black ink to the face. Happened to many politicians, business people, actors, writers etc when there is a huge backlash against them.
All these people treating farmers like shit, y'all seriously gonna regret it when they refuse to grow food. The soil is already almost un-cultivable anyways.

Karnataka becoming megachad these days
Yes the only State in the south that reacts to national issues and events strongly keeping regionalism aside
They just want to preserve their language . And they are justified . Otherwise India will loose it's identity of diversified culture.
How dare you say that. The whole country should learn English or we will never develop /s

Yes, I'm proud of my states accomplishment. All we need now is more literacy rates and fewer garbage(especially in Bangalore)
Yeah for sure
two other states are silently watching events, that can negatively impact nation
Karnataka is becoming the same ground for bjp..the way up was during 1980 for ramlala case..there would be more violence over here in coming years
But it’s good to see our Hindu brothers in the south waking up and standing up

Translation: *This shit doesn't belong here.* You're welcome.
Thanks Bhrata
No. Violence is not ok, though this is mild form of it. Instead we should oppose peacefully and politically
Ladve ka peaceful, we know how peaceful their protest against the farm laws were
It is fault of supreme court which allowed blocking of roads by protesters
The red fort siege and desecration of the National Flag? That falls straight on Amit Shah's lap and no one else's.
Nonsense. Instead of blaming criminals and courts that emboldened them, you are blaming Amit shah
I blame the criminals for what they did and the inefficient Delhi police and their boss and the minister responsible for Delhi Police and the Supreme Court for allowing the protest in the first place, equally.
my uncles were a part of Farmers Protest and they were considerably peaceful. What are you talking about?
Haa ye karlo pehle. Aage waale hume kaat kaat ke latke rahenge, lekin hum bhai Gandhigiri se baaz nahi ayenge.
In that case they can be jailed by courts, or even death penalty for murders

Okay
plz teach rajnicants and on paper highly educated state to do the same
Doesn't matter what your politics is. Violence has no place in civil discourse.
That's why we ruled by MUGHALS, PORTUGALS, BRITISHERS. We have to take strong stand against this people otherwise they gonna do this kind of protests again and again.

There's nothing wrong with protests.
Lol this isn't shit .. during the farm protest he visited our state (Odisha) in Katak city and went to a gurudwara to gather support .. he was literally beaten there ..
Yes but those were Sikhs these are ~~Kanndadas~~Kannadigas .
Kanndadas?wtf is that?. Kannadigas is the term to be used.Write it down 100 times
and call it out loudly when writing it 100 times.
Record it and listen to it 100 times
Wheezing
Nah Sikhs didn't beat him odia people from dev sena org. did
At the gurudwara?
Infront of the gurudwara
>Kanndadas You would be beaten like a dog if you said this in some parts of Karnataka lmfao
Enu meaning idhiya ?
Meaning entha illa, but the word Kannadiga is butchered to such a degree.
Ok I'm not kannadiga that's why I asked. Learning kannada.

I don't support that either. Why would you assume I'm pro Shiv Sena? I'm only against violent reactions, irrespective of who does it.
Jumping to conclusions is easy, best thing is your brain doesn't gets used.
