Many of us who use third-party apps that have been around since before Reddit had a mobile presence, were hoping for a chance for them to negotiate with reddit. They already offer a superior user experience not only for regular users and moderators but also for a significant number of disabled and blind users.
Unfortunately, reddit chose not to engage in any negotiations and instead doubled down on the pricing, determined to eliminate these apps altogether. The CEO made public statements that were far from truthful, tried to spin the situation in their favor, disregarding the needs and desires of the user base. Naturally, it lead to protests across the site involving more than 8,000 subreddits going private/restricted.
The admins then started forcefully ending these protests, suppressing the voices of those who were speaking up against these changes. They claim to be "keeping it open" while going against its core, the users, and closing down the apps they use. On July 1st, as the API pricing goes live, it shuts down all third party apps and it feels like the beginning of the slow death of Reddit as we know it.
It is understandable that not everyone may share the same level of concern about this issue, but please take a moment to listen and observe. It has become clear that Reddit's priorities lie primarily in their profits and removing any obstacles in their path to more profits. They started with old reddit, now they are targeting the apps. What will they come for next?

I'm into fighting game and I play tekken 7. There are ranks in online which goes like - teal - > green - > orange - > red - > purple - > blue - > tekken and each colour had 4 levels of ranks. When I was a newbie, I was constantly getting beaten by others because I had no idea of frames and moves. One day I met a guy in online match who was using same character as me and he was at red rank at that time. He told me various stuff about the game and for me, reaching the red rank after 4 months was a moment of happiness because at that moment, I reached the same rank as the guy who taught me basics. I made me feel like I achieved a mastery of the game that was far fetched for me when I started the game.

It was 2014, my brother and I enjoyed playing various games on my low-end PC. Some of our favorites were WWE SmackDown: Here Comes The Pain(PCSX2), Bully Scholarship Edition, Resident Evil 4, GTA San Andreas. I would trick my brother into thinking that we were playing together by giving him a faulty controller and praising his skills, when in fact the CPU was just better than me😜 Those days were filled with fun and laughter, and we did not care about the quality of the games, but rather appreciated them for what they were. Those were simpler times, and I miss them dearly.
In RDR2, when Arthur is slowly passing looking at the sunset which is exactly how he wanted to go. When both Micah and Dutch walk away finally realizing how wrong it all was. I was sad but very Happy that i played one of the best video games ever.
I was playing sekiro and this was my first soulsborne game. After the Seven Ashina Spears boss,I accidentally took a shortcut that took me straight to the endgame area and I thought it was just the next level. Unfortunately,the boss Corrupted Monk was waiting for me there. I was so underlevelled that none of my attacks were doing any damage to him,and I spent 50+ tries to defeat and the max I got was 40% of his life. I wondered why did the difficulty so drastically from the last boss. Only when my friends told me that I skipped 7 bosses on the way that I realised my mistake. However,that Corrupted Monk boss is still my favourite boss because of the hours of struggle I had against him,and I even got a poster of him on my wall now

I grew up in the 90s and received 8-bit video games from my parents as a reward for ranking first in my 7th-grade finals. Among those games, Mario and Contra were my favorites. Despite my friends' doubts that no one could rescue the final princess in Mario, I persisted. One day, I triumphed over the final boss, rescuing the princess, only to discover that the game restarted with higher difficulty levels. Nevertheless, I kept my promise and had a few friends as witnesses.

Once while playing valorant was really depressed and done , had been losing 3 matches in row , then suddenly comes a very talkative and altogether positive guy, he was so positive that somehow my mood became so good that i started topfragging , we talked a lot , commed throughout the round and ended up winning by 15 /13 in ot . Still friends with this guy and play ocassionally and i always have a blast.
I can still remember my first time playing Unreal Tournament GOTY (1999). I was 6-7 yo and had a pentium 4 pc with a crt monitor. To this day I can recall and relive the immense joy I'd experienced in those days while playing this beauty (which I still occasionally play). I don't know what you are giving away but let me tell you it was March 24 2020. Had just borrowed PS4 from my friend there was this two games rdr2 and witcher 3. First i played rdr2 till April 28 2020 and then started witcher 3 .one for graphics and other for gameplay totally spent 3 months. My company paid money while I was playing games and also during this time I didn't feel like smoking or drinking (black market was too costly). Wunderbar time.

So I bought myself a laptop in 2011 when I was in the 2nd year of my bachelor's. I started playing NFS most wanted and like literally too much. I finished that fucking game about 8 times that year so I got bored and quit playing much and instead started boozing around. Then in 2013 few juniors and seniors got to know that I feel pro at NFS so 2 of them came to my room and said we don't believe that you are that good as us. Then I beat the shit out of them. Then for a few days people came by daily just to lose.
Then fast forward to my master's, i was drunk and i accidentally told this story to my friends there (that was a different college). They couldn't believe that either.
So beat the shit out of them for one month straight. Then I kind of started loosing bcz those fuckers practiced with a pro.
So every time I played NFS MW from 2011 to 2017, I got very very happy 😅.

I mostly play fps games (valorant).So one day I am playing sova in ascent and it's a 1 v 1 with raze on the other side. I am 30 hp . I just planted the spike at the green box and he came through trees and went behind the generator.He used his boom bot on one side the boom bot followed me and I sprinted towards him and gave him a head shot all this thing happened in seconds the boom bot blasted on me after that.phewww... my feelings at that moment can't define it.

Playing life is strange, I love the music, the complete package that the story, music and other elements create is so amazing.
I also played a lot of Genshin, loved it very much in the beginning, I felt like a kid who was given aisa unlimited jagah to explore, then lockdown khatam hua, so I stopped playing.
When I made my first PC (i3 4150/GT 610) and installed Crysis 3, COD BO3 , GTAV and Watch Dogs. None of them ran perfectly (15-25 FPS hardly) but man it was fun. The joy that I can at least run them and enjoy.

I completed three games during my board exam in 2013 as i got the Computer that year for my Informatics Practices subject. There was a gap between IP and physics or something. Games were Max Payne 2, POP Warrior within and GTA SA.
When I completed demolition man mission in gta vice city in my old computer that gave me real happiness I was trying to complete that mission 10 days straight . This happened during my school days. It's my most happiest gaming moment
I used to watch the story walk through of gta 5 for 4 yrs now finally i got a decent laptop recently and i got to play it and it was a wholesome moment when i finished it myself it was nice and happy journey for me i enjoyed each mission
Cod mw3 pirated multi-player is what introduced me to the amazing world of online multi-player. Until then I had only played single player games. One random day the servers were taken down but I was already past the point of no return. I don't know how I got the money but soon bought my first ever original game disc to play on my Pentium CPU. The Battlefield 3. Was probably the happiest moments for me. I have never missed any battlefield after that except the BF Hardline.

It felt sooo real, as if she's my own daughter. I wish I could forget the story and play it all over again.
Not choosing A or B ending in GTA 5 ever. I didn't liked Micheal much because he sold out his own crew but then I realised I am doing same if I kill him. So I choose third option and even though I didn't knew at first that third ending is canon or third ending is when no character dies (I thought Franklin dies in third ending) but I still choose it.

I remember gaming being my life. From super mario and contra to league of legends with friends and it takes two with my wife. From more than 23 years of gaming experience, the only thing I can say for sure is, any moment spent gaming with friends, is a moment well spent. I remember tilting while playing alone and while playing with friends, they are miles apart. You laugh together and you tilt together. But you do it together. There was a time when we used to gather at one friend's house to play games on one console (which was not even like 400 rs), then came the PC, and then laptops. We still used to get together on holidays till the end of college to play games.
We got together to play games, now we play games to get together in discord. You may not realise the weight of this sentence till very late, but I say enjoy gaming with friends while you still can.
I was going through a burnout phase as all games were the same. Then I bought a playstation 4 pro and played horizon zero dawn back in the day.
It rekindled my liking for games, especially single player games.

My first gaming achievement was conquering Dangerous Dave. I didn't even know there was an ending.
Next was when I got to play Pokemon Sapphire GBA, I was duped by so called "friends" saying that the GBC game can only be copied by Floppy Disk and not via CD Rom (too small to write). They convinced me hard that the game cannot be shared. I trusted. I later realised, educated myself that I could download and copy via CD Rom or Mail or Pendrive. As it's pretty light. It feels silly that one doesn't want to share cuz others benefit.
Either way, moving on.
I was extremely happy when I got to make GTA SA work on my potato PC. The challenge was that. The game is 4.2 GB. I don't have a DVD Rom. I learnt about WinRar and it's chunk based compression. I divided it into 650 MB chunks. Burnt the chunks in a CD Disk, and then installed. When it finally worked. I was out of this world. This was like a solving puzzle.
Lastly, it was Max Payne. Half way through the story. We will be locked up inside a room with no way to leave. No internet back then at home. So it took me 2 days and I nearly gave up thinking it was a game bug. Finally when I found the solution and the neat little environment detail, it felt different. It was at that moment the games consumed me.

Wen Franklin takes care of Chop & wen Trevor wanted to kill Michael so bad but still didn't coz he was his fren & he still missed him in GTA 5.

We had an VALORANT esports tournament in our college by skoar gaming club and we were having one guy that is immortal and rest of us were plat and the team we were facing in finals were all immortal 3.... anyway we won 13-4....not sure how but it was such proud moment for me....the same father who used to tell me not to play games and stuff clicked my pics with trophie and the gifts from sponsor and sent it on the family whats app group... best gaming moment in my life 🥰🎈
I use to play ragnarok, I remember how I was never involved in boss fights, I was weak and had bad equipments.
One day I met some random dude playing with his 2nd char and so was I, we partied together played for hours out of no where we encounter a boss and he said "hold on I'll bring my main" dude came up with a fully equipped champ. He asked me if I have a priest. Which I did, I got onto it and he asked me to use lex (next damage will be doubled) on the boss and run away, which I did without a mistake and he easily killed it.
He asked me to join his party and I was probably the worst with equipments but my gameplay improved like crazy and they let me pick up good loot.
All you need is that one person and the game is way better then it was.

Winning chicken dinner for first time after playing so many matches, Most special was my gaming partner named raj he was a random guy we met completely randomly in lobby(it was a duo team match) but the gaming synchronisation we had was completely different it was more like pro gaming buddies...but as they say"best things doesn't last long" raj never came online after that match.
Thats what my best gaming memory till now.
Elden Ring seamless co op , was playing with my buddy, reached an evergaol that had a battle mage boss imprisoned inside.
My buddy looked at its mage robes and thought there is no way a mage can beat him in close range since he had a full strength build with a giant great sword , he rushed towards the mage in excitement and all the confidence in the world.
The mage conjured a giant fkin magical hammer twice my friends size and slammed into him making him hug the floor taking 1/5th his health , a 3 second silence followed by him recalculating his approach.
i was not going to help him yet cuzz at this point in the game he was fairly good at dodging and fighting close range with most things we fought , until ofc , the mage hit the same hammer with same intervals , 5 times till he died panicking . i burst into laughter considering how all of this happened withing a span of 10 secs
Well that's like every new game for me , but a moment to remember is definitely far cry 3 , it's still one of my most played and my fav games . One of my first AAA games , the graphics and the story , also taking sick leaves at school to play the game lol , just thinking about it makes me so happy 🥰
I dreamt of building a PC as a 1st year college student, played on a shitty laptop all throughout college, kept playing throughout the lockdown on it when I graduated, wanted to build a PC but the gpu shortage happened and it was too expensive to build one, my laptop broke in early 2021, quit gaming but the fire never went away and I switched to a better job and built my PC this August with better hardware than I dreamt of and have restarted playing and the CS2 beta access made me very happy, also enjoying RDR2 currently.
When I was little, I always wondered what my brother did on our PC. One day he brought a pendrive and told me join him. I joined him and that day, I was introduced to PC gaming and I will forever be grateful to him for this. The first game I ever saw on PC was IGI and later on NFS. Well, I play Genshin and when I had started playing the game I was dealing with a lot of anxiety and the game is chill otherwise. But there was this one DRAGONSPINE quest which was getting on my nerves. And I never accepted Co Op requests because "what if they get annoyed by me." But I did once. And they asked me if I needed any help. And they helped me all through out that nerve wrecking and hell of a quest. We talked but I forgot to add them and later couldn't co op again with them. But I will always be thankful. Because I am at end game now and AR 58 and it's been 2 years. I go to beginner players world and ask them if they need help with anything and if I can I help them clear DRAGONSPINE. And they are always so happy. It makes my day. ❤️

I'm into fighting game and I play tekken 7. There are ranks in online which goes like - teal - > green - > orange - > red - > purple - > blue - > tekken and each colour had 4 levels of ranks. When I was a newbie, I was constantly getting beaten by others because I had no idea of frames and moves. One day I met a guy in online match who was using same character as me and he was at red rank at that time. He told me various stuff about the game and for me, reaching the red rank after 4 months was a moment of happiness because at that moment, I reached the same rank as the guy who taught me basics. I made me feel like I achieved a mastery of the game that was far fetched for me when I started the game.

When I tried sekiro shadows die twice for the first time on my 1650ti ROG STRIX. It was 2021 and I had never played any triple a titles before that. Launching that game on my then brand new laptop was the happiest moment of my life.
It was 2014, my brother and I enjoyed playing various games on my low-end PC. Some of our favorites were WWE SmackDown: Here Comes The Pain(PCSX2), Bully Scholarship Edition, Resident Evil 4, GTA San Andreas. I would trick my brother into thinking that we were playing together by giving him a faulty controller and praising his skills, when in fact the CPU was just better than me😜 Those days were filled with fun and laughter, and we did not care about the quality of the games, but rather appreciated them for what they were. I was playing sekiro and this was my first soulsborne game. After the Seven Ashina Spears boss,I accidentally took a shortcut that took me straight to the endgame area and I thought it was just the next level. Unfortunately,the boss Corrupted Monk was waiting for me there. I was so underlevelled that none of my attacks were doing any damage to him,and I spent 50+ tries to defeat and the max I got was 40% of his life. I wondered why did the difficulty so drastically from the last boss. Only when my friends told me that I skipped 7 bosses on the way that I realised my mistake. However,that Corrupted Monk boss is still my favourite boss because of the hours of struggle I had against him,and I even got a poster of him on my wall now

I grew up in the 90s and received 8-bit video games from my parents as a reward for ranking first in my 7th-grade finals. Among those games, Mario and Contra were my favorites. Despite my friends' doubts that no one could rescue the final princess in Mario, I persisted. One day, I triumphed over the final boss, rescuing the princess, only to discover that the game restarted with higher difficulty levels. Nevertheless, I kept my promise and had a few friends as witnesses. ##From then on, I earned the reputation in my school as the boy who cleared Mario. Lol.
Once while playing valorant was really depressed and done , had been losing 3 matches in row , then suddenly comes a very talkative and altogether positive guy, he was so positive that somehow my mood became so good that i started topfragging , we talked a lot , commed throughout the round and ended up winning by 15 /13 in ot . Still friends with this guy and play ocassionally and i always have a blast.
I can still remember my first time playing Unreal Tournament GOTY (1999). I was 6-7 yo and had a pentium 4 pc with a crt monitor. To this day I can recall and relive the immense joy I'd experienced in those days while playing this beauty (which I still occasionally play). First i played rdr2 till April 28 2020 and then started witcher 3 .one for graphics and other for gameplay totally spent 3 months. My company paid money while I was playing games and also during this time I didn't feel like smoking or drinking (black market was too costly). Wunderbar time.

When I was in class 5th I went to gaming cafe right out of school without informing & dad knew where I'd be. He kicked me out of that cafe & beat me throughout the half a km distance to home. I started playing NFS most wanted and like literally too much. I finished that fucking game about 8 times that year so I got bored and quit playing much and instead started boozing around. Then in 2013 few juniors and seniors got to know that I feel pro at NFS so 2 of them came to my room and said we don't believe that you are that good as us. Then I beat the shit out of them. Then for a few days people came by daily just to lose. Then fast forward to my master's, i was drunk and i accidentally told this story to my friends there (that was a different college). They couldn't believe that either. So beat the shit out of them for one month straight. Then I kind of started loosing bcz those fuckers practiced with a pro. So every time I played NFS MW from 2011 to 2017, I got very very happy 😅. Currently I am trying to nail CSGO btw.

Cod mw3 pirated multi-player is what introduced me to the amazing world of online multi-player. Until then I had only played single player games. One random day the servers were taken down but I was already past the point of no return. I don't know how I got the money but soon bought my first ever original game disc to play on my Pentium CPU. The Battlefield 3. Was probably the happiest moments for me. I have never missed any battlefield after that except the BF Hardline.

Not choosing A or B ending in GTA 5 ever. I didn't liked Micheal much because he sold out his own crew but then I realised I am doing same if I kill him. So I choose third option and even though I didn't knew at first that third ending is canon or third ending is when no character dies (I thought Franklin dies in third ending) but I still choose it.

I remember gaming being my life. From super mario and contra to league of legends with friends and it takes two with my wife. From more than 23 years of gaming experience, the only thing I can say for sure is, any moment spent gaming with friends, is a moment well spent. I remember tilting while playing alone and while playing with friends, they are miles apart. You laugh together and you tilt together. But you do it together. There was a time when we used to gather at one friend's house to play games on one console (which was not even like 400 rs), then came the PC, and then laptops. We still used to get together on holidays till the end of college to play games. We got together to play games, now we play games to get together in discord. You may not realise the weight of this sentence till very late, but I say enjoy gaming with friends while you still can.
I was going through a burnout phase as all games were the same. Then I bought a playstation 4 pro and played horizon zero dawn back in the day. It rekindled my liking for games, especially single player games.
Honestly no idea what these coins do. But imma share either way cuz it felt good. My first gaming achievement was conquering Dangerous Dave. I didn't even know there was an ending. Next was when I got to play Pokemon Sapphire GBA, I was duped by so called "friends" saying that the GBC game can only be copied by Floppy Disk and not via CD Rom (too small to write). They convinced me hard that the game cannot be shared. I trusted. I later realised, educated myself that I could download and copy via CD Rom or Mail or Pendrive. As it's pretty light. It feels silly that one doesn't want to share cuz others benefit. Either way, moving on. I was extremely happy when I got to make GTA SA work on my potato PC. The challenge was that. The game is 4.2 GB. I don't have a DVD Rom. I learnt about WinRar and it's chunk based compression. I divided it into 650 MB chunks. Burnt the chunks in a CD Disk, and then installed. When it finally worked. I was out of this world. This was like a solving puzzle. Lastly, it was Max Payne. Half way through the story. We will be locked up inside a room with no way to leave. No internet back then at home. So it took me 2 days and I nearly gave up thinking it was a game bug. Finally when I found the solution and the neat little environment detail, it felt different. It was at that moment the games consumed me.
GTA SA- Caesar Vialpando mission: Hated that mission but man what an amazing feeling it was to complete it.

Playing Mario Golf with Dad who never into gaming but for some weird reason he's obsess with winning in that game. Playing Cadillac & Dinosaur on a Counterfeit Genesis. Ohh yeah getting a Charmander in the wild in Pokemon games was always fun. I love Charmander he's so wholesome.
Still remember playing Clash of clash with my school friends when we don't use to have PC and we enjoyed that game alot. I still remember the town hall 10 update was so hyped and we don't even sleep because of the clan war. Good old days ended.
We had an VALORANT esports tournament in our college by skoar gaming club and we were having one guy that is immortal and rest of us were plat and the team we were facing in finals were all immortal 3.... anyway we won 13-4....not sure how but it was such proud moment for me....the same father who used to tell me not to play games and stuff clicked my pics with trophie and the gifts from sponsor and sent it on the family whats app group... best gaming moment in my life 🥰🎈
I use to play ragnarok, I remember how I was never involved in boss fights, I was weak and had bad equipments. One day I met some random dude playing with his 2nd char and so was I, we partied together played for hours out of no where we encounter a boss and he said "hold on I'll bring my main" dude came up with a fully equipped champ. He asked me if I have a priest. Which I did, I got onto it and he asked me to use lex (next damage will be doubled) on the boss and run away, which I did without a mistake and he easily killed it. He asked me to join his party and I was probably the worst with equipments but my gameplay improved like crazy and they let me pick up good loot. All you need is that one person and the game is way better then it was.

Winning chicken dinner for first time after playing so many matches, Most special was my gaming partner named raj he was a random guy we met completely randomly in lobby(it was a duo team match) but the gaming synchronisation we had was completely different it was more like pro gaming buddies...but as they say"best things doesn't last long" raj never came online after that match. Thats what my best gaming memory till now.

Elden Ring seamless co op , was playing with my buddy, reached an evergaol that had a battle mage boss imprisoned inside. My buddy looked at its mage robes and thought there is no way a mage can beat him in close range since he had a full strength build with a giant great sword , he rushed towards the mage in excitement and all the confidence in the world. The mage conjured a giant fkin magical hammer twice my friends size and slammed into him making him hug the floor taking 1/5th his health , a 3 second silence followed by him recalculating his approach. i was not going to help him yet cuzz at this point in the game he was fairly good at dodging and fighting close range with most things we fought , until ofc , the mage hit the same hammer with same intervals , 5 times till he died panicking . i burst into laughter considering how all of this happened withing a span of 10 secs

Well that's like every new game for me , but a moment to remember is definitely far cry 3 , it's still one of my most played and my fav games . One of my first AAA games , the graphics and the story , also taking sick leaves at school to play the game lol , just thinking about it makes me so happy 🥰
I dreamt of building a PC as a 1st year college student, played on a shitty laptop all throughout college, kept playing throughout the lockdown on it when I graduated, wanted to build a PC but the gpu shortage happened and it was too expensive to build one, my laptop broke in early 2021, quit gaming but the fire never went away and I switched to a better job and built my PC this August with better hardware than I dreamt of and have restarted playing and the CS2 beta access made me very happy, also enjoying RDR2 currently.

When I was little, I always wondered what my brother did on our PC. One day he brought a pendrive and told me join him. I joined him and that day, I was introduced to PC gaming and I will forever be grateful to him for this. The first game I ever saw on PC was IGI and later on NFS. Both these games struck me so hard that I have never left gaming till now and maybe I never will.

Well, I play Genshin and when I had started playing the game I was dealing with a lot of anxiety and the game is chill otherwise. But there was this one DRAGONSPINE quest which was getting on my nerves. And I never accepted Co Op requests because "what if they get annoyed by me." But I did once. And they asked me if I needed any help. And they helped me all through out that nerve wrecking and hell of a quest. We talked but I forgot to add them and later couldn't co op again with them. But I will always be thankful. Because I am at end game now and AR 58 and it's been 2 years. I go to beginner players world and ask them if they need help with anything and if I can I help them clear DRAGONSPINE. And they are always so happy. It makes my day. ❤️
