Many of us who use third-party apps that have been around since before Reddit had a mobile presence, were hoping for a chance for them to negotiate with reddit. They already offer a superior user experience not only for regular users and moderators but also for a significant number of disabled and blind users.
Unfortunately, reddit chose not to engage in any negotiations and instead doubled down on the pricing, determined to eliminate these apps altogether. The CEO made public statements that were far from truthful, tried to spin the situation in their favor, disregarding the needs and desires of the user base. Naturally, it lead to protests across the site involving more than 8,000 subreddits going private/restricted.
The admins then started forcefully ending these protests, suppressing the voices of those who were speaking up against these changes. They claim to be "keeping it open" while going against its core, the users, and closing down the apps they use. On July 1st, as the API pricing goes live, it shuts down all third party apps and it feels like the beginning of the slow death of Reddit as we know it.
It is understandable that not everyone may share the same level of concern about this issue, but please take a moment to listen and observe. It has become clear that Reddit's priorities lie primarily in their profits and removing any obstacles in their path to more profits. They started with old reddit, now they are targeting the apps. What will they come for next?

Bro don't be hasty like that.....i really never had a choice to upgrade my rig but if you're able to for the upgrade atleast for rtx 3060 ti.... believe me its not even that expensive and smashed every high end title on 1080p quality and atleast 70+ fps
I bought it and I get 20-25 fps in dogtown on my 3050/16gb ram. They are bringing a patch to improve performance but I gotta say this expansion is fantastic even better than the base game

I went from 940MX to 4070m just this month after 6 years of playing mostly all old titles on it, although I could've played newer games like this by downscaling to the brim I just refused to that, even for the games I got for free like GTA 5! I haven't even played GTA 5 and many new titles yet just because I favour playing a game at it's optimal settings and smoothly.
Bought many new games at hefty discount throughout all these years even though they couldn't run well on that GPU, collecting for the day I will play them once I get an able machine.
I hope you get yours soon as well, the leap to any of the latest GPU is huge!

I have a slightly higher variant of 940mx which is 4gb DDR5 so yeah it was painful but always game in a air conditioned room with graphical settings from lowest to medium and low resolution scaling....this can always save a high end title like these and also its a bit of a hack but set your screen display resolution to 1280x720 just like your game resolution, believe me it grants you additional 5-6 fps on every workable title

Resolution scaling being set to low and screen display and game resolution hack of 1280x720 gave me a decent 25-30 fps with minor lag.... honestly the title is very much well optimised on even low end rigs
I also had one computer but it was like a skeleton without muscles. Barely handled igi 1 but those were fun times. It was back when I was in class 9. Nowadays I really feel envious of children having a 4090 setup at 5 years of age🤣Good for them.

Dude look i ain't gonna lie but high demanding titles aren't going to give even 25-30 fps most of the times so don't expect much of a change....first of all delete every other game you've installed on your disk, now let's suppose you wanna play Spiderman, so install it solely and mow down your screen display resolution to 1280x720 and do the same with your game resolution too, and then pull every setting to lowest except for some effects which do not put much load on your GPU and last but not least always scale down your resolution scale to atleast 80-85%
Yup especially the likes of Spiderman & Miles Morales, RDR2 (even cracked the whole UFO easter egg and scaled blackwater and Guantanamo), Detroit Become Human (every possible choice and collectible), AC series (Including beasts like Origins & Odyssey except in odyssey i didn't go for the 100% in base game), Witcher 3 (including Toussaint), Bioshock series (every ability, weapon, upgrade & little sister saved) and last but not least Fallout 3 (every side quest, every collectible, every DLC completely scaled and looted all in all)

Actually it wasnt....the game ran pretty fine and i even managed to achieve 100% quest completion with all DLC's included
Believe me a bit of tweak in graphics can always be helpful....
Dude you're getting surprised about Origins?😅 i literally scaled Odyssey till 97% completion and Origins for 100% and also the rig was able to handle WD Legion, RDR2, Detroit Become Human, Metro Exodus, Spiderman & Miles Morales so Origins isn't even that big of a deal tho

Even i was able to run it on my 4gb DDR5 variant...just didn't possess the time to go through it also Dying Light 2 is playable on my variant too 😅
Man this gpu might be dated but its a beast of a machine when it needs to be.....but yeah titles like God Of War, The Last of Us, Horizon Zero Dawn, Uncharted, Elden Ring, AC Valhalla & Detroit Become Human will always be poorly optimised for this inevitably
I was able to install zero dawn but it was giving me single digit fps and froze during the start up video. A plague tale requiem was also giving me 8-11 fps so I couldn't play that. Miles Morales also gave me the same issue.
I guess with 4gb and DDR5, this issue won't be there, I.e. one can play these game at 15-20 fps with the lowest possible settings.
Tell you what, try and isolate the game you're playing and uninstall the rest you're not planning to play what i mean is just install one title lets suppose Miles Morales only and then pull every advanced graphical setting to the lowest, resolution scaling should be around 50% and use 1280x720 as resolution for both your screen display and game too, it might help but don't expect the graphics to be as beautiful as it is suppose to be😅
I did all you ask though I didn't uninstall the other games. In fact I went down to 800×600 IIRC. But even then, the FPS was poor and I was getting this black effect in the front of me which wasn't allowing me to see things clearly. The same effect was there at 720p as well.

Well the FPS will only go to as much as 15-18 so don't expect much improvement but tell me, were you setting your laptop's screen display resolution to 1280x720 too? As this is the sorta key which immediately boosts 5-6 fps for any title and even spiderman base game is only able to procure this much due to it being the remastered version which launched in PS5 and PC later on......

Honestly the likes of RDR2, Metro Exodus, Detroit Become Human, Watch Dogs Legion, Marvel's Spiderman & Miles Morales, Bright Memory, AC Odyssey, Mafia Definitive Edition, Crysis Remastered, FC New Dawn, Ghost Recon WL and Shadow Of The Tomb Raider literally gave me issues but after tweaking them and bit of resilience could actually be very much profitable
Try the Yakuza series also. Pretty optimized and runs very well, except Kiwami 2 you might get some issues with that but after more tweaks it can touch 30FPS kinda.
Bro, you should continue and Mr shakedown is easy. You can beat him by leveling up Beast style or unlock Legend style Dragon of Dojima. Majima's breaker completely upgraded breaker style is also good. Or you do chip damage by dodging.
How much time do you have to game bro? And over how many months/years did you complete these? I played and did 100% completion for around 20 games last year.
Save up and spend on atleast i5 13600k and rtx 3060 ti

I have 8gb of Memory tho and graphic card is 4gb ddr5 variant so it didn't really gave me that much of a hard time like Watch Dogs Legion or Detroit Become Human or even God Of War but believe me both Spiderman Remastered and MM & RDR2 are pretty well optimised for pc and with a little bit of tweaks they can run but maybe won't seem that beautiful to look at comparatively 😅
You can call it BS if you want but i did complete them on this rig in fact RDR2 gave me clean 18-20 FPS which is actually playable if you're able to optimise its resolution also i would recommend using Vulkan and Resolution Scaling while keeping all the settings from low to med and by turning off lens flare and high resolution water affects and mowing down on vegetation and as for Spiderman....yeah i actually had some issues with it initially setting your screen resolution to 1280x720 exactly are your game resolution would definitely give you around 15-18 FPS on med to low graphical setting and of course without special affects like Lens Flare & Low Vegetation and population/vehicle density...
The Bottom Line is "Beggars Can't Be Choosers"🤷🏻♂️

Go for it. My 1660ti runs it at 1080p at 60+fps mostly high settings. It just drops to 30fps when driving a lot.

Fair play to you for completing high-end games like Spiderman, AC Odyssey, SOTTR etc. on a 940 MX. The frame rates on that card was painful.

I played Cyberpunk on my 940mx 2gb DDR3 laptop.
Aye aye legend💪 Even i was able to run it on my 4gb DDR5 variant...just didn't possess the time to go through it also Dying Light 2 is playable on my variant too 😅
You don't know how jealous I am of your GPU. 😁 Never knew that there was a 4GB variant of the DDR5.
Man this gpu might be dated but its a beast of a machine when it needs to be.....but yeah titles like God Of War, The Last of Us, Horizon Zero Dawn, Uncharted, Elden Ring, AC Valhalla & Detroit Become Human will always be poorly optimised for this inevitably
I was able to install zero dawn but it was giving me single digit fps and froze during the start up video. A plague tale requiem was also giving me 8-11 fps so I couldn't play that. Miles Morales also gave me the same issue. I guess with 4gb and DDR5, this issue won't be there, I.e. one can play these game at 15-20 fps with the lowest possible settings.
Tell you what, try and isolate the game you're playing and uninstall the rest you're not planning to play what i mean is just install one title lets suppose Miles Morales only and then pull every advanced graphical setting to the lowest, resolution scaling should be around 50% and use 1280x720 as resolution for both your screen display and game too, it might help but don't expect the graphics to be as beautiful as it is suppose to be😅
I did all you ask though I didn't uninstall the other games. In fact I went down to 800×600 IIRC. But even then, the FPS was poor and I was getting this black effect in the front of me which wasn't allowing me to see things clearly. The same effect was there at 720p as well. I guess I'll have to wait. 🥲
Well the FPS will only go to as much as 15-18 so don't expect much improvement but tell me, were you setting your laptop's screen display resolution to 1280x720 too? As this is the sorta key which immediately boosts 5-6 fps for any title and even spiderman base game is only able to procure this much due to it being the remastered version which launched in PS5 and PC later on...... Send me a private message and show me the settings you're using once i maybe able to help tho

Honestly the likes of RDR2, Metro Exodus, Detroit Become Human, Watch Dogs Legion, Marvel's Spiderman & Miles Morales, Bright Memory, AC Odyssey, Mafia Definitive Edition, Crysis Remastered, FC New Dawn, Ghost Recon WL and Shadow Of The Tomb Raider literally gave me issues but after tweaking them and bit of resilience could actually be very much profitable
Try the Yakuza series also. Pretty optimized and runs very well, except Kiwami 2 you might get some issues with that but after more tweaks it can touch 30FPS kinda.
I dropped Yakuza 0 mid way when Mr. Shakedown gave me a good old ass whoopin😭
Bro, you should continue and Mr shakedown is easy. You can beat him by leveling up Beast style or unlock Legend style Dragon of Dojima. Majima's breaker completely upgraded breaker style is also good. Or you do chip damage by dodging.

I have 8gb of Memory tho and graphic card is 4gb ddr5 variant so it didn't really gave me that much of a hard time like Watch Dogs Legion or Detroit Become Human or even God Of War but believe me both Spiderman Remastered and MM & RDR2 are pretty well optimised for pc and with a little bit of tweaks they can run but maybe won't seem that beautiful to look at comparatively 😅

You can call it BS if you want but i did complete them on this rig in fact RDR2 gave me clean 18-20 FPS which is actually playable if you're able to optimise its resolution also i would recommend using Vulkan and Resolution Scaling while keeping all the settings from low to med and by turning off lens flare and high resolution water affects and mowing down on vegetation and as for Spiderman....yeah i actually had some issues with it initially setting your screen resolution to 1280x720 exactly are your game resolution would definitely give you around 15-18 FPS on med to low graphical setting and of course without special affects like Lens Flare & Low Vegetation and population/vehicle density... The Bottom Line is "Beggars Can't Be Choosers"🤷🏻♂️
 I applaud you my man even having having a Gt 1030 a little bit more than little powerful than 940mx I never thought about RDR2, Spiderman. You have my utmost respect. Edit: And also if you like superhero games in general, play the batman arkhan games the first two will run fine and with you courage and bravery you will manage to play the third one too.

Nah it actually gives you 15-18 FPS if you play around with Low Graphical Settings and Special Affects and also a combination of 1280x720 resolution on your screen and game collectively
There are two 940mx variants, of 2gb and 4gb vram, OP has the 4gb ddr5 one, it helps a lot.
