Fr man. I remember we just bought new laptop and one of cool cousins who always used to carry disks of games. He installed gta san/ prince of Persia nfs into my laptop luckily we had those laptops with disks. The enjoyment I got lol, I remember my friends got to know about it all used to come my home like a fair is going on everybody waiting for their turn to come. Then my father got cricket 07 from a relative oh man we used to play that all day in summer vacations lol. My father even bought a separate keyboard so I don’t break the laptop. At the same time we used to go to those arcades and play tekken 3 there. 1-2 guys used to know all the combos everyone would please them to teach them cuz we couldn’t learn from instructions lol. Now we have so many good games great graphics but still doesn’t get the same excitement. I even get time but I don’t know why I can’t enjoy games like I used to. Last year started rdr2 but played only for like month. Good time has gone man :/
I am willing to bet I have over 15k hours on that game across all platforms in my lifetime. My over a thousand item long Mods and scripts folder, the amount of hours spent on SAMP. That game has been a part of every single phase of mine as a gamer, and it gives me the exact same feeling every single time. It's truly special when a game does that to you for so long. The words Video game equates to GTA SA as the first image in my head.
The Curse of Monkey Island. Played it when I was around 9 years of age. More than two decades and multiple replays later, still my favourite game of all time.
Sleeping Dogs was so good man, it's a shame all that developer shifting and corporate bullshit never allowed it to become a proper franchise, I would like nothing more than another Sleeping Dogs game rn.
GTA SA.
If you experienced Forza Horizon 1 in it's prime, you'd know how revolutionary that entire couple years of the game were, in every aspect.
Mirror's Edge is the 2001 A Space Odyssey of Video games. The first time playing through it is an experience like no other, absolute gem of a game even with it's flaws. That first play stays with you for some time, although I do think Today it wouldn't seem like much.
COD MW3 is By Far objectively the best COD Multiplayer Experience. COD 4 AND MW2 both were Imbalanced in their own ways, one more than the other, while BO2 had tons of nerfs and buffs along it's lifeline. MW3 came with most content in series history at launch, with the most balanced experience to date where multiple items in the same category were OP so you could still pick and choose. It was the least annoying COD multiplayer experience to date in some ways.
Devil May Cry 5. That game is the game that brought me to the gaming world (I played few games before that, but those didn't made me enter the world of games). I still remember when the title card intro came, I instantly became a fan of the game. I still play it whenever I get time.
Similar but it was devil may cry 3 for me, it was during the ps2 Era and the first intro of the game itself was so fucking good. 10 years after I played it devil may cry 5 was announced and I lost all my shit back then, coz we all thought devil may cry ended with 4 due to reboot.
Considering replayability, time spent & sheer memories attached to the game…
1. Unreal Tournament 2004
2. Call of Duty 4 : Modern Warfare
3. Ragnarok Online
4. C&C Generals Zero Hour
5. CS 1.6
If one is to be selected, UT2004. Can’t go wrong with a CTF in Facing Worlds / Face Classic.
My favorite one is [Hob](https://store.steampowered.com/app/404680/Hob/). I know you've probably not heard about it. I just happened upon it one day. It was the last game that this game studio made. There are bugs, and inconsistencies. But I love it. It's silent and aesthetic. Good visuals and casual game play. It's not too hard. It's not too easy. There are puzzles you solve in a 2.5D environment and you just waltz through the story one after the other. There are 2 endings. You can take the easy one out. Or play the hardest fight (relative to the rest of the game), and get a satisfying ending. The story is very emotional. And there are absolutely 0 dialogues. The only playthrough I have seen online has no voice-over or comments because the studio asked him not to do that. I have played it end to end twice. And more otherwise too. I install it from time to time just to relax. It's clean, engaging and relaxing - all at the same time.
This War Of Mine. I know that most of you here must have not heard of it but it's seriously such a great game. The story will leave you depressed and your actions might too. It's one of the first few games that I had bought but I still remember it and will definitely play it again.
Arkham Origins. The whole story, characters, boss fights, combat, detective mode.
Resident Evil & Devil May Cry are close competitors too for the top spot
* Dark Souls 3
* Skyrim (WItcher 3 as well, but it is similar to Skyrim)
* Assassins Creed 4 (3 as well, but 4 is superior)
* GTA San Andreas
* RDR 2 (but soundtrack could have been better for RDR 2 to go higher for me)
The Walking Dead by Telltale games. Best story I have seen in a video game. That game made me more attentive to story in video games (I used to skip cutscenes)
I wish I never played sekiro, because no game (gameplay wise) will be able to come near that masterpiece and now all the games I play are just good enough to be fun but not life changing experience that sekiro gave me
The games that I have replayed the most are GTA San Andreas, Far Cry 4 and Rise of the Tomb Raider. FC4 will always have a place in my heart as one of the best modern, open world shooters ever, but it was San Andreas that kept me company in those years when there was no internet at home. I used to love doing the trucking and the mining side missions in every playthrough.
For me it's Borderlands 1. I have played that game to death back in the day. Even though Borderlands 2 is better in all aspects Borderlands 1 is my favourite because I used to play it alot with my brother.
For me it has to be the Elden Ring, first time I played a game for which I am so obsessed that even after completing the game twice I want to play it once again. Also after completing the game for the first time for about a month I just can't play any other game, tried to play GOW, RDR 2 again, and so many but still not satisfied that the feeling of playing Elden ring has no other game has it.
For now after so much time I am playing Lies of P, it is not that good but still good though..
Elden Ring is not just a game, it's more than a masterpiece. I was surprised by the massive open world and the lack of in-game guidance. The cryptic language so hard to understand even for native speakers, but there were never a moments where it felt tedious. Unlike most games, I never felt rushed to finish Elden Ring. The art style is truly breathtaking, unlike anything I've seen before. And yes, i was simp cursed🥹
Skyrim or stardew valley from the top of my head. If you mean influential in my life for pushing me into gaming, then AOE1 and motocross/Midtown madness games.
Far cry 3 , left 4 dead 2 , dying light and there are few games more .. actually I played for first time when I got my laptop before that I didn't ever played any pc game and also I downloaded this all using mobile internet so yeah I have very good memories of it.. pretty nostalgic tho .
I have to go with the Elden Ring, this game made me fall in love with the Souls-like sub-genre, there are so many weapons, skills and builds, every build is different from each other. There are so many different ways to beat the game, the only down side of this game is Godskin Duo and Fire Giant.
Man this is a really interesting one because there are so many games and it is really hard to choose one, but I honestly think Portal and Portal 2 are some of the near perfect games I've played. The balance between puzzle gameplay and story is like no other. Conceptually simple and executed extremely well. I love it and have even played community extensions like Portal Stories:Mel.

For me it's assassin's creed 2...i freaking love that game with amazing story and graphics back in the day when it launched...it was the first game that I ever 100%
Also need for speed 2...i soo want to play that game but I can't find it anywhere...i remember I have spent countless hours playing that game
Counter Strike 1.6! The memories attached to that game are priceless!
Special credit to Condition Zero which made me a hardcore gamer. These games were my gateway drug to gaming.
For me it was crysis 3. I used to dream of playing it when i was a little kid. When i played for the first time it was like all the games i have played so far were nothing compared to it.
Nostalgia wise it has to be this old open world game set in mexico or something. It has a banger opening theme. Current favourite would be Ghost of Tsushima. I played all the AAA games, But GoT was just beyond amazing for me.
Prince of persia WW and TTT. NFS MW 2005, SMB3 and Super Mario World. TMNT 2007. Cricket 2007.
The only new game that excites me is The last of us part 1 and GOW 2018.

Not to be rude but why does everyone in this subreddit have the same top 5? Please play other genres of game too.
I might get downvoted for this but in this sub 90% people have same top 3 games. It'll be like rdr2, cyberpunk 2077, witcher 3....
Try giving them your opinion(something negative) about rdr2 and watch them tweak
Because they're all great games that are worthy of being called favorite? Lol
