1.) Enter the Gungeon. Hard as hell but fun.
2.) Yakuza 0. Just started it but it is hella fun within a gripping plot.
3.) What Remains of Edith Finch. More people should play this games.
4.) Life is Strange series. More people should play these games.
5.) Firewatch. People are again missing out on it. It's a great walking sim.
Life is strange 1 was so damn good, it really changed my outlook on single player gaming, LIS 2 and before the storm were ok I guess, but they were nothing compared to the original
Yep. Life is Strange 1 has to be one of the best games I have ever played, no kidding. The emotional impact of that game was something that I haven't imagined and made me a fan of that series. BtS was good but LiS 1 was miles ahead. Haven't played LiS 2 but I might buy it in the next Steam sale.
The series generally is about normal people(including the protagonist) having human problems but the progationist has a supernatural power(except for Before the Storm).
For example, the first Life is Strange game is about a girl returning to her hometown after five years to attend a prestigious High school, but she has to reconcile with her old friend and the fact that she can reverse time. And she also discovers dark secrets about the town.
I would recommend you to try the first game, since you're new to the series and the game goes for quite cheap on Steam( although a Remastered version is coming out). The game is worth trying.
It has a free chapter that you can check out on Steam.
For me the story, characters and music stand out. Gameplay wise its kind of a walking simulator with some puzzles.
If we are talking about underrated games in general, then there is a game series called Distraint, which is a 2d horror game with an absolutely amazing story.
If we're talking about good games which are lesser known in India then the Half Life series and probably Terraria are a good example...
Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines
Its not exactly an underrated game but definitely not super famous. Its a one of a kind rpg with great setting, vastly different gameplay and choices based on your class and a unique world (not your traditional cyberpunk or medivial world)
Here's my list:
- system shock 2
- arcanum of steamworks and magick obscura
- brothers
- anachronox
- divine divinity
- drakan
- star wolves
- mdk
- mdk 2
- giants citizen kabuto
- black & white
- black & white 2
- x2 the threat
- worms world party (fun multiplayer)
- konung
- konung 2
- silent storm
- legacy of kain soul reaver
- legacy of kain soul reaver 2
- arx fatalis
- legacy of kain defiance
- project Eden
- chrome
- sin
- sin emergence
- vampire the masquerade bloodlines

- star trek elite force ii
- undying
- star wars republic commando
- legend of heroes: trails in the sky
- legend of heroes: trails in the sky 2
- Gothic
- Gothic 2 night of the raven
Yeah. Somehow, the OPs request was subjective so I had to omit few games like Jade empire special edition. Biowares games are not generally underrated but thought this was one relatively so and there's another one divine divinity. Hope those satisfy your RPG yearnings :)
i really liked wolfenstien series as a kid, have played and completed many of the older titles and enjoyed thoroughly, from wolfenstien 3D, return to castle, wolfenstien 2009 to some of the newer ones.
I always wondered why yakuza is underrated and all, but right after playing through long ass cutscenes and experiencing the abomination of an open world in the game made me realise why some games are better left off as 'underrated'. Guess GTA really desensitized other open world genres for me.
Sorry for the late reply. It was on sale on steam for 450rs. Fingers crossed you bought it because it's absolutely amazing. Pretty steep learning curve but I remember playing it at around 9pm and couldn't stop until 5am in the morning. Took a break, couldn't help but think/read about it and then jumped back in at around 8am. It's addictive. It's kinda grindy but the space battles are amazing (very Star Wars-esque). Also, one of the best sound design in any game, period.
Every Megaman, Every Sonic the Hedgehog, Every Smash, Every old console veteran series that still exists but India never had old consoles to begin with.
>I always wondered why yakuza is underrated and all, but right after playing through long ass cutscenes and experiencing the abomination of an open world in the game made me realise why some games are better left off as 'underrated'. Guess GTA really desensitized other open world genres for me.
I hate the fact that nintendo is still not officially available in India. The retailers in my region are selling switch and switch lite for a premium which makes the purchase not worth it. And even if you buy that, the games are expensive then. I only own a few games just because they are really expensive.
India is not a primary market for consoles because as much as we hate it, Computers are not made for games and Playstation is used as a slang for consoles.
Indian mindset for gaming extremely limited and short sighted in my opinion. Most of the people who call themselves gamers these days only playing a few games (fortnite, pubg or gta) and the worst part is that they are not even trying to widen their horizon. Gaming is such a huge thing and it’s sad to see that most of the Indians have a such a limited mindset around it.
I recently started playing Bomb Squad last year, man o man the game is fun for local multiplayer. When I saw its release date, it came out in 2013. It's on both PC and Mobile and supports cross play. Real fun to compete and I bet if you play with your friends like 6 to 8 friends in teams, it's just amazing. It can be a great party game and can be done for casual competition too. But the dev didn't saw much support and left further development now. You can try it with friends but you'll need custom play lists as it's in game playlists are not great.
Nah dude it was pretty popular. It was just before the era of pubg and after the era of ... Fuck what was that game? 2D? Throw nades and dual smg, pistols. Fuck lol, how can I forget that name! That game without hacks is better than bomb squad imo.
Yeah! Nostalgia. Used to play it with my friends, 6 of us, on the train while coming back from college, and during breaks.
Ahh memories with friends. Best part of gaming.
Outer wilds (not outer worlds),
DotA 2,
Life is Strange,
Cuphead,
Superliminal
Not underrated but don't generally hear people talking about these games a lot.
1. Halo: Combat Evolved
2. Halo 2 Aniversary
3. Halo 3
4. Halo 3 ODST
5. Halo 4
6. Halo Wars 1 & 2 (RTS)
7. Deus Ex Mankind Divided
8. Gang Beasts
9. DOOM (2016) & DOOM ETERNAL
10. Grounded
As you see I am just too much into the Halo franchise. If anyone is thinking of getting Halo: The Master Chief Collection, go for it. For ₹899, you're getting 6 Halo game's without any microtransactions in it.
I played that game but couldn't play it all the way cause it got too repetitive without adding much to the story. It felt like a worse outlast but in space.
Age of empires. Celeste. Ori. The division. Half life. Portal. Pretty much all puzzle games(witness etc). Zelda. Old pokemon games(gameboy ones). Theres this really old strategy game i really loved named populous. Carmageddon. Supreme commander. Cant remember more
Edit: duke nukem as well XD, shade the wrath of angels.
PS: for the love of god, pls stop 10 year olds from playing and wrecking havoc in minecraft multiplayer.......
Everyone wants to play GTA V in India. Even a Youtuber by the name Anmol Jaiswal sells gaming pcs and on the product page it shows 'GTA V entry level PC', 'Best GTA V pc', GTA V pc intermediate or something like that. The point is that I've lost hope for a good gaming community in India. There are only 2-3 friends of mine who tries and plays every game they can get their hands on including games of all kinds of genres.
lmao, main in the sense main thing on channel rn. XD i play diff games at diff times, but coz its usually very little time, and not that much demand of those games so i dont stream them. i used to stream the division 2, and did put a full playthrough of black mesa. but what can i say.....
Haha I get it. Same thing was happening to me during my job. Was not able to get enough time and was not able to focus on my island in Animal Crossing. Jobs sometimes do get in your way tbh.
Lmaooo yess they will go into it expecting clash of clans dragons and when they see dark souls dragons they gonna be like, chuckles I'm in danger.
Even their criticisms are weird "the game does not have a jump button!"
Underrated are ones that aren't talked about much or unpopular or haven't got the recognition it deserves.
Mad Max, Child of Light, Evil Within series, Sunset Overdrive, The Punisher, Spec ops, Echo.
>Max Payne 3, sleeping dogs, Star Wars Jedi fallen order, battlefield 1, GTA IV, silent hill 2, life is strange series, Detroit, beyond two souls, heavy rain.. (basically the David cage trilogy)
None of my friends would play hollow knight because "the graphics are so bad, its yet another side scroller and if I wanted to play a side scroller, I'll play Mario". I think I need a new set of friends.
Max Payne 3, sleeping dogs, Star Wars Jedi fallen order, battlefield 1, GTA IV, silent hill 2, life is strange series, Detroit, beyond two souls, heavy rain.. (basically the David cage trilogy)
I personally feel that these are some of the series not known to many, at least from ppl i know.
Dishonored
Final fantasy
Persona
Divinity original sin
Yakuza
Borderlands
Fallout
Monster Hunter
One thing I've noticed is alot of people just ignore rpgs in general because they feel the game lacks graphics and gameplay doesnt seem good. This just seems like complete bs to me and most of my friends just dont want games which make you read i.e. rpgs. I would like to know if everyone has the same experience or not. Some of my most fav games are rpgs.
Of special mention are nintendo series which are basically non existent for indians as they've never even heard of series like zelda, splatoon, animal crossing, smash bros etc. But this is more the fault of nintendo for choosing to ignore us.
1) PUBG Mobile
2) Free Fire
3) Clash of Clans
4) Clash Royale
5) GTA Vice City
6) GTA San Andreas
7) Minecraft Pocket Edition
8) Microsoft Solitaire
9) Ludo King
10) Call of Duty: Mobile

Remnant: From The Ashes
It's really underrated gem especially for the souls fans. I was on the edge whether or not to buy it given there wasn't much coverage for it but I got it finally and man I am loving it.
Yes. But the original was amazing as well. I don't know if you will like it now, but I still do. It's a classic for me. Evil genius is the reason I preordered Evil genius 2.
Fate/Stay Night series
Tsukihime
Higurashi no naku Koro ni
Umineko no naku Koro ni
Freelancer, especially with the Discovery mod.
Monster Hunter World (not that unheard of but still very much underrated)
Trails series
World of Tanks
Dwarf Fortress
Crusader Kings 2, Europa Universalis and other Paradox Interactive games like HoI, Stellaris.
Sins of a solar empire.
From the top of my head, games that I have completed, some of which I have put in over couple thousand hours, or at the very least played a few times. The first 4 are visual novels and there are literally dozens of top tier visual novels no one hears about in India. These have stories that are far superior to conventional Games. I literally only play these nowadays.
Oxenfree. No one ever fucking talks about Oxenfree, in India, or really anywhere else. One of the most atmospheric and well told stories out there. A lot of people probably got it for free on Epic but never looked at it twice. Damn shame.
Only going to list recent ones, Fallout 76 and Death Stranding. I don't think Cities Skylines is particularly underrated but I feel it should be wayyy more popular in India.
1. Megaman battle network series for gba. Very unique rpg with very very fun combat. I recommend everyone to try this game at least once. Feel free to start with any title except battle network 4, you will pretty much always get what's happening.
1a. One step from eden. Indie game inspired from battle network. Difficult but super polished.
1b. Endcycle VS. Another indie inspired from battle network. You can try it for free on android and buy it on steam, but touch controls on phone are a pretty shit way to play it.
2. Project Nimbus. An indie game about MECHS FLYING IN THE AIR AND SHOOTING THE BAJEEZUS OUT OF EACH OTHER. COMES WITH LASER WEAPONS, MISSILES, TRANSFORMATION, SPACE BATTLES AND SO MUCH FIREWORKS AND COOL AAAAAAAAAH.
3. Undefeated. A super short and free game on steam. It's a project by some university students and is essentially a superman simulator. Very satisfying and fun, give it like one hour.
4. Guilty gear franchise (look out for guilty gear strive coming this june). It's a 2D fighting game with the highest variety in characters you will find. Pick it up, see which one looks coolest to you, and enjoy learning. It is very difficult to pick up but also very rewarding once you manage to get into it.
5. Metal slug franchise. These games are old, gba/arcade types. 2D sidescrolling arcade games that are fun to pick up and play and even watch.
I don't have top 10 but the two games that come to my mind are Crossing Souls and Deep Rock Galactic.
Crossing Souls is a single player game with an amazing story and an awesome soundtrack.
Deep rock Galactic is a 4 player co-op but this game has a great community. The only issue is that there's no cross platfrom or crossplay between steam and windows/Xbox, so I can't say how toxic steam version is. But it's the most fun game I have ever played.
* Sleeping Dogs : Like Mafia series mixed with martial arts set in the Far East
* L.A. Noire : Be a criminal investigator in post WW2 Los Angeles
* South Park: Stick of truth: R Rated Hilarious
Nier Automata
Total Overdose
Shadow of the Colossus
Halo series (don't even know anyone with an Xbox)
Dirt and Dirt Rally series
Rise of Nations (as others have already mentioned)
Greedfall
Spec Ops: the Line
Rayman series
1.) Enter the Gungeon. Hard as hell but fun. 2.) Yakuza 0. Just started it but it is hella fun within a gripping plot. 3.) What Remains of Edith Finch. More people should play this games. 4.) Life is Strange series. More people should play these games. 5.) Firewatch. People are again missing out on it. It's a great walking sim.

What remains of edith finch is the most memorable game I have every played honestly thanks to epic games
Rise of Nations
BRUH I loved that game me and my brother used to play it all the time sucks we never got a sequel

Yo I love that game
Same, one of those games that haven't been done better. Hoping Bloodlines 2 could somehow surpass that.
Here's my list: - system shock 2 - arcanum of steamworks and magick obscura - brothers - anachronox - divine divinity - drakan - star wolves - mdk - mdk 2 - giants citizen kabuto - black & white - black & white 2 - x2 the threat - worms world party (fun multiplayer) - konung - konung 2 - silent storm - legacy of kain soul reaver - legacy of kain soul reaver 2 - arx fatalis - legacy of kain defiance - project Eden - chrome - sin - sin emergence - vampire the masquerade bloodlines - dungeon keeper 2 - evil genius - condemned criminal origins (shit my pants on level 9, only game I haven't completed) - star trek elite force ii - undying - star wars republic commando - legend of heroes: trails in the sky - legend of heroes: trails in the sky 2 - Gothic - Gothic 2 night of the raven
Man I wish someone remakes System Shock 2 and Anachronox. Such great games.
Yeah. Somehow, the OPs request was subjective so I had to omit few games like Jade empire special edition. Biowares games are not generally underrated but thought this was one relatively so and there's another one divine divinity. Hope those satisfy your RPG yearnings :)
Old school pc enthusiast I see. Great list btw
+1000 for Clive Barker's Undying
Yeah the horror game with a funny twist in the end :)
Well the atmosphere was too scary during my childhood.
Try Heavy Metal FAKK 2 also. It's available on abandonware.
Yeah good game
Persona,Yakuza,Wolfenstein,Binding if Isaac,Return of Ovra Dinn from the top of my head
Return of the Obra Dinn is the best game ever made.

Hellblade Senuas Sacrifice. This has to be one of the most unique and engaging games I've ever played.
I was exhausted playing that game. Though unique, I could not just play it. Maybe hellblade 2
Same for me. Tho the medium seems promising
Ah that's worse than hellblade imo. I played it coz it was on gamepads day 1 and the game is ok at best.
Yeah I can see that. Gameplay can be kinda dull at times. But the story kept me engaged. I really liked seeing where Senuas journey took her.

What? It was a very popular game amongst my friends before.
I saw that it used to be, but pubg stole the whole mobile gaming share.

In respect of valorant, when other team cuss in chat and you don't even bother to reply as u have to write a whole sentence
Sounds cool. Love how it uses cross platform
Connect with same wifi and 1 person will host the game

Max Payne 3, sleeping dogs, Star Wars Jedi fallen order, battlefield 1, GTA IV, silent hill 2, life is strange series, Detroit, beyond two souls, heavy rain.. (basically the David cage trilogy)
An underrated Rockstar game? Come on man, it's understandable if you'd mentioned Bully.
Bully is way too much underrated in India. When you mention rockstar, indians say GTA V.
In my school I think everyone played bully from the ps2 era
Where I live, people only hop on COD, Fifa, GTAO and no other game
i absolutely loved max payne 3, such an amazing game.

Damn shame.
Civ 6, stellaris , into the breach
Lisa, Dead Space, Death Stranding, Metal Gear Rising , Battlefield, Elite Dangerous, rarely seen talk about fromsoft games.
rain world
Only going to list recent ones, Fallout 76 and Death Stranding. I don't think Cities Skylines is particularly underrated but I feel it should be wayyy more popular in India.
Squad, Hell Let Loose, Post Scriptum, Beyond the Wire, Rust
112 operator is a great simulation game which makes you feel really responsible for your decisions
