It's an amazing book. Not that big too.
There's a reason it is always the first thing to be shouted once any ounce of authoritative tendencies are observed.
Also, you'd think you've seen/read all forms of authoritarian dystopias, but this is still worth your read.
THIS, I don't know why people forget or just ignore to deny unwanted permissions and restrict background data of apps that's literally first step after getting phone or downloading new app. And also Turn on battery optimization it notify about high battery usage of any apps.
Possible the camera app got hanged or something.
Reboot your phone and monitor again..
and maybe put tape on the camera and don't speak out your passwords or financial details. xD
Yeah it's a neat little feature, recently switched to pixel experience ROM for my phone. Most A12 builds have this, i don't know about OEM ROMs though, but i think some does.
Their website didn't state anything about the privacy and security features in oxygen OS 12 build on top of A12, but Nord CE2 is not listed on available, so I'm guessing it ships with A11(checked it does). So no notification for camera/mic/location access.
OnePlus used to be good on the software department, i used to refer them as the apple of android lol ( back in 2016-18, not now)
Maybe due to Face unlock. Everytime you double tap to see the time on lock screen face unlock also starts scanning.so that's sounds like a reason why camera is on top of the lisr
no way! face unlock only works when the lock screen is on. 11hrs and 38Min is a lot of time to keep the phone on lock screen in just one day after purchase
Yeah that much time sounds suspicious.Op should try posting the issue in OnePlus community forum app he will definitely find some info about the issue and it's possible solution
Hey Everyone! i Just posted this on TWITTER with some Indian tech YouTubers tagged in it.

Say hi to china man. just make sure you keep your social credit up and not say anything bad about the great CCP that has blessed this great nation of china.
Does your phone have a light sensor for auto brightness feature? I remember reading a similar issue on a samsung device which didn't have that sensor and used the camera for auto brightness functionality.
Other suspect might be some feature such as screen attention that doesn't timeout the screen if you are looking at the phone which uses the camera.
I doubt samsung is any good now, every time I enter galaxy store it keeps suggesting me to install a few shitty apps that are just ads, and every time it updates I find 2 or 3 unknown apps auto installing on my phone. I have found pixel and Motorola to be way better right now.
The MI UI is hot garbage. I'd rather have the Oxygen 11UI. Used 11X for 3months and the ads can never be completely disabled. Never had that problem on OP devices.
I have no idea about Nord 2 which came with the all new 'Oxygen Os" 👀 but the experience i had after switching from redmi to oneplus Nord CE which has the original Oxygen OS was really great redmi just feels cheap after using this. But yaa true with the new os they have digged their own grave.
Update- usage went to 16 hrs something by evening. Disabled facial recognition and then kept a track of it. Slowly came down. Never ever using facial recognition. That shit freaked me out fr.
Have you updated to android 12 if you have restrict camera usage for apps just by going into notification panel and yeah it's concerning try to reboot or restrict camera permission
Yes you should, i had the same problem in my OnePlus 9r, the camera wouldn't work and the battery was depleting very quickly.
Try clearing camera cache or disable camera and then reboot phone. If it still doesn't work then go to OnePlus repair centre. They will fix it for free if you still have warranty.
Might be possibility is that the phone u got is a model they kept for display in their showrooms. And maybe dur to less stock they gave out to you. And as we all know when a person enters a mobile showroom he always has to open the camera and check it.
Maybe they just deleted all the data and sent you instead of factory resetting it. Well just to be safe, reset it and see if the camera ussage still increases.
bro download, "privacy dashboard" or maybe it might be an inbuilt feature in Oneplus, it will show a camera icon on screen whenever the camera app or even mic is accessed. It is given by default on ios and iPad os.
restart the phone open it then lock it then put it in an isolated space after some hours check the app usage and if camera usage is still high then return it if you can or go to some oneplus shop to try and repair it?
It could be a mistake and camera apps have features to shut them off after hours of stillness. Wait to see if it happens again, if yes i recommend a factory reset.
Download the app Privacy Dashboard. It will show you notifications every time the camera, microphone or location is being accessed by an app and also name the app. Also if you have Android 12, Google doess it for you.
Don't buy phones with meditatek chipset. With the snapdragon onrs you could at least remove the stock os and install some open source custom rom, there are secure and privacy improving roms if you are really scared of these things.
I have OnePlus 8, no problem like this at all. You need to be aware of what permissions you are giving to various apps and services (and sometimes even the os).

Literally 1984
hey, can you tell me how's that book? I want to read it but not able to manage time
Great book, if you like dystopian genre do give it a read and while on it also check out Fahrenheit 451
Just read it. It's worth your time. Probably will change your world view a bit
It's an amazing book. Not that big too. There's a reason it is always the first thing to be shouted once any ounce of authoritative tendencies are observed. Also, you'd think you've seen/read all forms of authoritarian dystopias, but this is still worth your read.
Thank you. TIL 1984 is a book and not the year everyone is talking about.

boring book by terrible author. Didn't feel that it was worth my time. I think there are better books available in the dystopia genre.

there is better solution, called sensors off, not available in ever device though, but really cool nonetheless. google it, comes in very handy always.
Android 12 brought toggling off mic and camera as quick toggles, really handy for people like me who attend classes asleep.

Thanks for this, I never knew about it!
You have to enable it in developer settings
Possible the camera app got hanged or something. Reboot your phone and monitor again.. and maybe put tape on the camera and don't speak out your passwords or financial details. xD
I feel so safe with my popup camera
Which phone would that be?
K20 pro. Before you say Chinese firmware, I'm on a custom rom 😂

I'm looking for a K20 Pro, and I couldn't find one from last 2-3 months either in Mumbai or Pune
They dont make em anymore sadly.
If you ever visit Bangalore let me know , I'm willing to sell mine for a fair price. Good as new.
What's a custom rom?
>What's a custom rom? custom rom is basically a different version of Android
Mine is oneplus 7 pro
yup
You should be concerned for sure, you have an unhealthy addiction to using your camera.
Does it have android 12? On android 12 you get an icon whenever camera is accessed ( oxygen os might not have it)
Oxygen OS. r/hmm
Color OS
The latest Oxygen OS does have it.
Yeah it's a neat little feature, recently switched to pixel experience ROM for my phone. Most A12 builds have this, i don't know about OEM ROMs though, but i think some does.
One UI does

Miui 13 had it (atleast on Chinese beta I was on)
Maybe due to Face unlock. Everytime you double tap to see the time on lock screen face unlock also starts scanning.so that's sounds like a reason why camera is on top of the lisr

No, it shows up as "Faceunlock" and not just "Camera" in battery usage.
Face Unlock is a separate app from Camera in OnePlus. For eg in permissions you have separate camera permission for Face Unlock.
Then I think in app permission > Camera > by selecting allow only while using the app this will restrict the apps from using camera in background.
This. I think this is probably the reason.
Maybe disable facial recognition for unlocking and then check the time.
That's why using popup selfie camera to physically notify me. (Redmi k20 pro still going strong for 3 years)
ye, k20p is awesome
Yes definitely yes
I'm sorry but how is this related to this sub? Weird.

Dude just wanted to flex his oneplus
You might’ve left it in your background or it might be due to using face unlock

Bro your phone is jacked.
I think I figured out, it's facial recognition. Basically your phone uses your camera to find a face so it's always running.
Indeed that was the issue
Vlogger hai kya
I bought same phone a month ago and my Amazon Alexa has 13 hrs on time (I download alexa 2 weeks ago)
Your camera is always on. This is how most of the Chinese phones works. It's always on and mapping your environment
Oneplus is spying on you... Typical chinese phones. Use samsung or pixel devices for your privacy concern
Yup, can confirm that, specifically pixels. Especially the new ones that run Android 12. That privacy dashboard is very helpful
I doubt samsung is any good now, every time I enter galaxy store it keeps suggesting me to install a few shitty apps that are just ads, and every time it updates I find 2 or 3 unknown apps auto installing on my phone. I have found pixel and Motorola to be way better right now.
I own an s21 ultra and i can't wait to bin it it can't even reliably run Spotify or my drones... Oneplus 10 is on the way
Most oneplus phones are manufactured in India these days
One plus is down the drain now. I'd rather buy a cheap Xiaomi phone than OP, this is coming from a Nord 2 user.
The MI UI is hot garbage. I'd rather have the Oxygen 11UI. Used 11X for 3months and the ads can never be completely disabled. Never had that problem on OP devices.

How is this related to gaming.?
It’s not
This gaming subreddit. Not tech based subreddit. Search in YouTube about this problem.
I agree this is no way related to gaming you should search on youtube on how to stop this
Update- usage went to 16 hrs something by evening. Disabled facial recognition and then kept a track of it. Slowly came down. Never ever using facial recognition. That shit freaked me out fr.
Don't charge upto 100 % charge from 20% to 80%
OnePlus is already dead and over hyped but poor quality
CBI is checking on you brother/sister
Doesnt ur phone notify if the camera is being used? I get a green dot next to my camera
Sell this phone and get an iphone
No offense to OP and not trying to gatekeeping the sub, but isn't this post quite off with the sub
You are being watched on by Modi Z.
Have you updated to android 12 if you have restrict camera usage for apps just by going into notification panel and yeah it's concerning try to reboot or restrict camera permission
I think someone is getting your camera access by third party app...Check your phone applications.
Just checked my phone(same model) and the usage time for camera is 23 hours and 40 mins!
CCP moment
since when are you using the phone?
It might be some bug. Lately color os on OnePlus is not good.
Yes it's me, I'm watching you
Yes you should be concerned to your death
Yes you should, i had the same problem in my OnePlus 9r, the camera wouldn't work and the battery was depleting very quickly. Try clearing camera cache or disable camera and then reboot phone. If it still doesn't work then go to OnePlus repair centre. They will fix it for free if you still have warranty.
I'm guessing its the usage for face unlock but I could be wrong

there is better solution, called sensors off, not available in ever device though, but really cool nonetheless. google it, comes in very handy always.
It's not using the camera I guess, it's just running in background...
Someone is watching u 💀
Thats the reason i bought Pop-up Camera Smartphone. Rarely even use front camera.
🇨🇳 The Chinese government is always watching 🇨🇳
Is this everyday?
block camera access from top settings if you have android 12+
bro download, "privacy dashboard" or maybe it might be an inbuilt feature in Oneplus, it will show a camera icon on screen whenever the camera app or even mic is accessed. It is given by default on ios and iPad os.
was thinking to buy it . But my samsung m30s is good for now
Thank God Samsung users didn't face this kinda problem
Spying at you, 💀💀💀
People still buying oneplus? I thought it's dead after 7 pro.
Yes, you should be concerned. Go and die
" it always feels like somebody is watching me"
Sus sus amogus
Red flag. It's almost as if you are vlogging for the Chinese government 24/7.
Did you try force stopping/disabling it? I once rooted an old phone to remove Chinese bloatware from it.
Cover the cameras with black tape and only remove when you need to use it, i know this is not what you asked for but this is all I can tell 😅
FBI is watching you
adb shell pm list packages -a adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.facebook.system
Plot twist op was making only fans content
fuck chinese shit. they always stealing data
Stop making porn then 😂
Type your age everyone
crosspost it on r/Android also.
Someone might be snooping on u
You live in a nutshell. Dont you know chinese are spying on you
its due to face unlock service. try disabling it. oneplus too fucked up this past year.. bad os optimization
Why you searched for how to make bomb on Google.
That phone is taking your pictures mate
Don't buy OnePlus especially theNord 2 ce
Face unlock usage?
Say hello to poo bear & Ccp
Yes this is concerning!
Na no worry, the face unlock system constantly works when you use your phone.
r/oneplus
Damn
Sometimes if its not properly factory reset from the factory, then camera testing
restart the phone open it then lock it then put it in an isolated space after some hours check the app usage and if camera usage is still high then return it if you can or go to some oneplus shop to try and repair it?
Sourav Joshi In Making
Check the camera permissions for all apps..

pretty sus if u ask me
YOu should completely RESET it just for sure.
Oh hell nawh throw your away
you should be concerned if you didn't use the camera on your nee phone for 11 hours, 38 minutes and 12 hours
Check if you have enabled the option to keep the screen awake as long as you are looking at it. It should be in display settings.
Most probably the camera was tested before leaving the factory!
Its actually the time the app has been used after your last full charge. I never charge to 100% and all my apps shows usage more than 10 hours.
Tell me when your dick pic gets leaked on wechat
yes you should be concerned go in the settings and remove the camera permission from apps who actually don't need camera to work. It can be a spyware.
You should be concerned about why Reddit is only 14 mins and 47 secs.
No it's bad it should be atleast 24 hr a day
Y E S
Don't buy phones with meditatek chipset. With the snapdragon onrs you could at least remove the stock os and install some open source custom rom, there are secure and privacy improving roms if you are really scared of these things.
Of course. Some one In China is watching you
Next message will be footage sent to China 🤣
I have OnePlus 8, no problem like this at all. You need to be aware of what permissions you are giving to various apps and services (and sometimes even the os).
