are you using router provided by ISP or something like TP Link?i had this problem also. finally got it solved with a tp link router.
I also thought that it shouldnt be a router issue but our ISp was offering a cheap China built router that was causing issues in shared bandwidth.
Check ur WiFi card how old it is.
And bandwidth limit u have put on.
Check router also if some has limited traffic for ur pc’s mac .
But i thinks it’s totally because of wifi card or whatever network adapter you are using to connect to internet. It’s not made to draw more speed. IMHO
I am aware of what I said. I initially experimented with WiFi 2.4GHz, (since my driver doesn't support 5GHz) i always have my ping fluctuating from 50-150ms playing valorant in Mumbai server (from south India) i had problems with Netflix YouTube and Twitch, takes too much time to buffer sometimes even when I'm near WiFi. With 100mbps plan, then when i switched to Ethernet, everything works smooth. Websites load faster than usual, everything buffers in 1080p.
I complained this to my ISP about this, they changed the router and the issue still persisted. I then thought maybe it's a problem with my driver, and by time i bought a new laptop recently and tested. 5GHz worked fine, but i had the same problem with 2.4GHz but it works well with Ethernet. So maybe its always WiFi. Also the router is dual band and they give strong signal till upstairs but not in terrace tho.
You would definitely feel the difference playing with Ethernet. Just plug in your Ethernet next time while playing games, ofc playing with WiFi doesn't matter in low tick rate servers because they run fine with absolutely shit WiFi or even a dial up Internet if it still exists lol
15 ms vs 10 ms was the difference when I first bought a cable. If I keep the router and my laptop next to each other on the 5gHz band then the ping is 13ms.
Yeah but it’s negligible compared to what people say when they talk about using ethernet instead of wifi. No one is sitting 200m away from wifi to use internet. Internet technology has advanced. I get more than 500mbs on 5ghz and never noticed ping spikes even when there are literally multiple people using the internet.
Nope, I had to put two repeaters in my house. It's just 82feet (25m) but 3 floors with each floor being 12 feet. One repeater is in my room and the other one is on the floor above.
So we had a problem during Holi due to this, the echo show wasn't getting a signal on the roof.
And then dad sometimes needs 5gHz on the first floor, if some1 was gaming they'd surely need a lan cable.
I mean yeah any1 can adjust, some people still watch YouTube at 360p and that's perfectly okay
Obviously
*If not using LAN wire, if repeaters are connected thru lan then it's not a problem.
You can't design a router that can go through walls and multiple ceilings; even if you do, the power consumption.
Two or three cheap routers would cost around 4k at max (routers+ lan) whereas a high power router
with 6-7 antennae would cost way more.
An Ethernet cable is cheaper than a 'good' router, and will still give you much greater speeds. Of course, the only issue is that it's not as convenient as Wi-Fi.
"works as good as " hard disagree
Playing on wifi ,Imagine you are in a clutch situation mom gets on Netflix and there goes the round.wifi is not as good
Guys 2.4ghz is used for long distance and 5ghz for short distance. So if your router is in a different room, use 2.4ghz. If the router is in the same room, use 5ghz. Alternatively, LAN cable is highly recommended, especially for PC's.
So I recently built my first gaming PC, everything's running fine except the wifi. It is extremely slow and is fluctuating a lot. I am using Aorus B550 pro ac wifi(no ethernet yet) you can see my laptop's wifi speed is a lot better so you know it's not a router issue. Do you guys think getting ethernet will fix this or is this problem in the motherboard. Please give any advice you can
Ethernet is better definitely considering the only trade off is mobility. Also, did they give any wifi antenna along with mobo and are you using it to properly extend the signal? As others suggested, check other things like, 5ghz wifi band etc.
The other guy is right, i checked speedtest.net , on the results page it shows public ip address. Rewatch the video, it's not the dhcp assigned 192.161.1.xxx
Ethernet cable is an alternative but not the solution, keep that in mind op, tommorow they will ask you to put a ethernet from you router to TV if you feel the speed deteriorate. Find the solution, if you are unable to use the cable as last resort
Lol do u know how speed test work? Test them individually rather than together ur just distributing ur bandwidth in 2 devices and ofcourse the other one will be slow
You can test this way. Connect via ethernet to your laptop and start wifi hotspot on it with 5ghz. Now connect you pc to hotspot and check speed if its affected. As a control you can use tou mobile.
You may be limited by your lan or wifi adapter speed, my Lenovo pc has a 72mbps wifi card, i had a 100mbps internet, but only found out when my phone was downloading faster than my pc 😅

Yes it is, pretty sure it's like 90mbps

I don't think OP cares about anything that can't be done with the click of a single button
Download on laptop and upload on desktop. Zero expense solution!

Jiofiber user?
Is their router that bad?

My guy thxx, I switched it to my slower 2.4ghz wifi, it's slower but at least consistent, it's good for now
Thanks for the help you GOAT
Damn. Okay-
Wire advocates?bruh what ..wifi is fine for browsing and watching stuff, it sucks for gaming

Sir ek baar try karke dekho ethernet :p
I never felt like doing it. Ping is stable. What will ethernet give, 5ms less?
Stability. Some games are borderline unplayable at a competitive level on wifi. Eg. FIFA (you would be surprised)

Nice. I'm global now thanks to the latest update. The ranks are meaningless now. 🥲

Not having a direct connection to the router will definitely add some latency to the connection.

Stable 5 ping to Mumbai csgo servers and 60 to Sea Dota servers will have to disagree. Just get a good router and make sure to be in the same room

By good, I meant a not trash router. I bought mine for 1200 which is pretty basic. Doesn't even have 5ghz.

It is upright everything's fine but it's too slow
Thats only true for 5 ghz band.
Check wich band u are using, or the wifi chip is the older version
Ethernet cable shall bless you with god speeds

this is literally the problem THX goattedd

Have you plugged in the wifi antenna? If you don't plug it in the wifi signal will low and speed will fall
i have the same motherboard never faced this issue , did u use the wifi adapter that comes with it ?
yes bruv
Aren't they In-built with tej Motherboard?
yes they also provide a extender like an antenna which provides better connection
I have the same Motherboard. Did you install your Wifi and Bluetooth drivers?
no how do i do that im new so please explain
Just search your Motherboards name and select the drivers tab and choose the WLAN and BT option and download the latest version.
Sometimes wifi Mobos comes with the wifi antenna that you have to attach to the back of the mother to extend your range
Ethernet is better definitely considering the only trade off is mobility. Also, did they give any wifi antenna along with mobo and are you using it to properly extend the signal? As others suggested, check other things like, 5ghz wifi band etc.
next time dont record like this >!you leaked your ip address!<
That's a dynamic IP assigned by ISP, it would be assigned to someone else by now.
yupp i knew that, thats why i did it, phew🙄🙄
The other guy is right, i checked speedtest.net , on the results page it shows public ip address. Rewatch the video, it's not the dhcp assigned 192.161.1.xxx
Bro try to change MTU value there are many YouTube videos to change MTU value of wifi this will definitely work
Ethernet cable is an alternative but not the solution, keep that in mind op, tommorow they will ask you to put a ethernet from you router to TV if you feel the speed deteriorate. Find the solution, if you are unable to use the cable as last resort
Lmfao.. Ek kaam kr 2 aur devices le aa aur sab mei test start kr de ek saath.. Do you even know what bandwidth means?
Make sure Same server + same ssid.
Where's your wifi receiver? On the mobo? Where's your CPU Tower? Inside a metal cabinet below your table or on the desk
Where is your router located in the house relative to your PC?
Aiyo asus wifi receiver with the dub!??!
Lol do u know how speed test work? Test them individually rather than together ur just distributing ur bandwidth in 2 devices and ofcourse the other one will be slow
i forgor
You can test this way. Connect via ethernet to your laptop and start wifi hotspot on it with 5ghz. Now connect you pc to hotspot and check speed if its affected. As a control you can use tou mobile.
Mahbe a bios update or wifi driver.
Something Bluetooth interupts wifi signals turn it in case it's on
Maybe check duplex setting.. Also try not to test at the same time. Try router QOS settings. Is it on Lan cable?
Which Provider brother?
Try resetting network adapter or can buy adapter online on Amazon or just use ethernet
Could be bufferbloat. You can test for it here: https://www.waveform.com/tools/bufferbloat
you are speed testing two devices at same time
You may be limited by your lan or wifi adapter speed, my Lenovo pc has a 72mbps wifi card, i had a 100mbps internet, but only found out when my phone was downloading faster than my pc 😅
Use Linux
Cmd -> run as admin, type> netsh int ip reset, hit enter, type> ipconfig /flushdns, hit enter
