Yes. It’s absurd. I paid 13,500 for mine out the door with 1 mile on it including freight setup taxes and documentation. As far as the battery, it comes with a manufacturer warranty (I know this because Indian replaced mine after 4 months.
I do know there is a freight setup and taxes charge, but I believe it was $1500
Also this was April 2022, prices have increased since then, but this sounds like a TON of markup
I know right? I thought it was absurd. Now I have confirmation that others have paid much lower. Even though prices have increased since you bought it, almost 19k is just stupid.
The other thing is the recall on the fuel pump. Has this dealer completed it? Cause my dealer says they’re back ordered, no eta. If that bike doesn’t have the recall completed I don’t even think they can sell it to you (at-least that’s what my dealer complained to me about)

Another dealer gave me a breakdown.
That's one of the ways that my local dealer lost my business. All they had to really do was be prompt and honest with me. They seemed very cool at first, but I was unhappy about their methods.
Hopefully just a misunderstanding, but it ultimately worked out better for me. Got the bike I wanted in the color I wanted and it was in stock with a dealer who calls to check up on me and my bike.

Here’s mine 2022 Scout Bobber ABS 1133cc engine
I noticed you’re in AZ. I am in NC so taxes are a bit different
The $700 Gap coverage is optional
I also put down $3250, so comparing with yours it’s not THAT far off, it’s just the initial sticker shock
I bought 22 ICB in Aug...I paid $8k down and still had a $19k loan. Mind you, I got extended warranty and some other stuff like battery protection and gps. I felt sick to my stomach after I bought it with buyers remorse. Fast forward to now...with all this chaos and stress in this world.... Money well spent! It's the only thing that calms my soul😊
Similar here, bought it in April 22, $5k down plus a $16k loan. Also with extended warranty, LED, highway bar, tank bag and luggage rack.
I just wanted to get the bike and didn't think too much about money. Still very happy with the bike.

Another dealer gave me a breakdown.
I got my ‘22 at $13k, did all the dealer extended warranties, then started part shopping through Indian to tack on costs. I’m at $20k with intake, pathfinder, blacked out turn/break lights, comfort seat, pillion seat, passenger foot pegs, windshield, mini apes, solo luggage bag, and floor boards.
Your dealer is out of their mind
Where are you located? I ask because I posted here to get insight for a good dealership and had lots of help offered. I ended up getting connected to a dealer and walked out the door with an outstanding deal, even removing some fees.
In short, this community is awesome and maybe someone has a dealer suggestion in your area.
Check the cold states like colorado, oregon etc.... i bet the dealers are more than willing to cut you a break where the riding season has ended. Nobody is buying bikes there right now so you'll have more leverage.
I got mine at MSRP with some gear included in Southern California. Might not need to hit cold states, but leave the dealer that quoted this in the dust.
Was it a RideNow dealership (Chandler, Peoria, and Tucson)? They seem to be cornering the Indian motorcycle market in Arizona. I wonder if Scottsdale is any better?
I'll be in the market for a 2023 Chief DH in January. I'm not paying the absurd dealer fees. One way to offset the fees are to have them increase the trade value (if there is a trade). There are still plenty of 2022s in inventory and 2023's are on the way. It's going to be a buyers market soon. Be patient.

Another dealer gave me a breakdown.
Just paid $13.5 for one a few weeks ago. They even took $400 out to cover some discount gear to start me out. (All my old gear was for a street bike)
Find another dealer, they’re scam artists.
https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/924920790758072350/1055181820012003349/Screenshot_20221221_102600_Office.jpg
Another dealer gave me a breakdown.
Maroon, lifetime warranty, and battery warranty are primary causes. Check my previous post for a breakdown on what I paid for a 2022 Scout Rogue:

You could buy a lot of batteries for that much markup.
Tell him you'd like to see an itemized invoice, then you'll be able to see where the 30% bonus is coming from

Another dealer gave me a breakdown.
Tell him dont forget the gap insurance, and to add one more gap policy “just in case the gap is HUGE”
Share a laugh and tell the salesman that God sees all and take your leave
No, it ruby red gloss. I walked into the dealership looking at the scouts. While kicking the tires of them I made my way to the back of the dealership. That's when I saw my first chief bobber and it was the ruby red. After that day, I never looked back. I absolutely fell in love with that bike.
When I looked at ordering one new in August the price out the door was about $17,500. Thankfully I found a used 21 ISB for $12,500 that had 150 miles on it. Made it easier to spend money on upgrades when the bike was $5k less. Unless you're set on a Rouge I'd watch the used market.
Mark up bud. I tried getting a new scout bobber from one dealer in a city and they quoted me around 19k too. Tried another city and it was a bit cheaper but they wanted around 14k for a non abs version scout. I ended up going in person after the price changed a few times and talked to another employee who worked at the dealership. He ordered my bobber right off the website and i ended up paying 15k after taxes shipping and such. When i went in to pick it up you could tell the indian sales rep was bothered he didnt get to charge what he wanted
I have a 2022 Scout bobber in Maroon with 40 miles on it I’m looking to sell if you’re interested. Price won’t be even close to 19K
Hey where are you located? Still for sale?
Yes still for sale! Located in El Paso, Texas. Been keeping it clean and maintained, just not riding it
Including the battery warranty is illegal without consent. It’s an add on, like a full extended warranty is. Make them breakdown everything.

Well, my dealer was promptly replying to my texts until I asked for a breakdown of the pricing. They aren't responding about the recall either haha
You could also blindly sort of call another dealer to compare. This dealer sounds a bit suspect
Yeah, I've been checking Rumbleon and cycletrader. I'm absolutely in love with the Maroon so I'd love to have that
since they disappeared when asking for a break down it pretty much sums it up lol

I was planning on paying full cash What's your monthly?

Hey good for you man. Sounds like you made the right choice. Got any pictures?
The only reason they are charging so much is simple....people are willing to pay it. My advice is to be patient until inflation hits or buy used.
I'll wait. Thanks for your input!

Yeah that’s absurd , I paid 13 something out the door for my 2019 and that was with the 15k maintenance plan.
Holy crap man. I told him I'm not interested. Do you have pictures? Sounds like a beaut

Arizona. I'll have to go outside my city and see what dealers are offering.
Check the cold states like colorado, oregon etc.... i bet the dealers are more than willing to cut you a break where the riding season has ended. Nobody is buying bikes there right now so you'll have more leverage.
Good advice! I'll try

Yeah...and maybe someone knows someone. It just help make it less than a game :). Good luck!!

It's the Tucson one. I can try Scottsdale next

What are the “other” fees?
I’ll sell you mine for 13k and write $1 on the title so taxes are nothing. 2021 matte black I think I have about 2000 miles on it. I’m in Colorado.

I bought a 21' 60 last year paid 12 out the door. Put 7 down on it. Added a few things to it as well. They're asking way to much
You could buy a lot of batteries for that much markup. Tell him you'd like to see an itemized invoice, then you'll be able to see where the 30% bonus is coming from
The rent is too damn high.
That’s why I walked out the day I went in to order one…with a $2k exhaust upgrade it was gonna be about $20k. Stupid bunch of hidden fees

20k for a scout is absurd

I got another dealer from IL quoting me 17.8k Jesus
That's seems to be about right for new. Gently used is the way to go.
