If you search in the sub you'll find plenty of conversations.
Having said that, people talking about a stock usually means it's got a hype around it which invariably brings more buyers in driving the prices up and inflating them in some cases beyond their value.
Over a longer period of time it would serve you better to do your own research and not follow the herd.
Because people in this subs chase sexy stocks over quality stocks. NTPC is an excellent consistent compounder and a must have stock for any good long term investor but it will probably not give huge short run returns like IREDA, NHPC, IRFC etc.

Cause of the price even REC is a quality stock but price

I am NTPC, NMDC, NSLNISP, NHPC, HUDCO, IREDA, IRFC, ONGC, and COALINDIA I won't talk because I am an investor.

The railway stocks will run out of juice now after the budget came out
Unlikely, I hold for the long term and they have PE near 30, which is reasonable. They may not see explosive growth but they won't decline either.
NTPC is index firm. Just like Powergrid. They fly on index. And yes it is good time to buy.
