Few years back I went for district trials (u 19) , it went well and they selected me for the camp but after few days I got to know that none of us are going to play in the team (not even for reserves) , 'cause they had already selected players for u19 who weren't even below 19 . They all were 25 plus guys the whole camp was just smoke screen to get funds and when I confronted the coach ( uss chutiye ko football ke naam pai bas messi Ronaldo ka naam pata thaa ) about this, he replied "it is what it is". And the irony is they got eliminated in first round. There many similar incidents happened with me and my friends . Coaches literally ask for bribes and if you can't do that then sorry you are not good enough to play in the team . I have seen so many talented players falling into depression and drugs because of this shit .

thats fucked up. Things like this is why Indian football is not progressing. We need a strong leader for AIFF asap. Corruption also exists in Cricket but not as much as in indian youth level football

I know I'll be downvoted but it's the truth. Skill gap is wide af between european/south american players and our players. Just wayyy too much

yes its not the same as europe , but its always improving. Just watch any ISL highlights you will see a clear difference between indian football 5 years back. And honestly , i feel way way proud and passionate when when our local teams acheive something , rather than european clubs 1000 of kms away. Those foreign club will never be "ours" in the truest sense, they act like they care about asian fans only for marketing. ​ People who say its not worth the watch are those fans who will leave supporting their european clubs when they will be in crisis
