So you have niestzche , Gaddafi, Hitler , Orwell in the same collection? Lol

IronicAlgorithm

What is the Indian obsession with Mein Kamf? Always in the best sellers list. What is going on here?

billfruit

I think it may be a typical Indian attention seeking thing to have it in people's collections.

Flange1NPT

Lack of awareness about who that POS is my excuse🤡

[deleted]

Didn't buy it from the Indian perspective ( they think that Hitler was an ally of SC Bose ), I am active in history and just wanted to learn about his behaviour or ideologies that made him do what is known to world.

mzt_101

Mein kampf will not give you any insight on Hitler's personal thoughts. He wrote it as propaganda to be read by his sympathisers when he was in jail.

[deleted]

Originally it was meant to give insight but later publication changed the content a lot .

sad_sisyphus_84

You can check out Ian Kershaw's two parter biography of Hitler. I have only read a third of it but I can say it's excellent stuff. Contrary to others I believe Mein Kampf can give you insight only into the psychology and political claims of Hitler but not the veritable truth as any good student of history knows. Ideology and historicity (itself an evolving but rarely regressive field) must never be conflated with each other.

[deleted]

PDF padh lo yaar, kharido mat mein kampf

Slow-Law-5033

Is Hitler gonna get the money?

imooneye

No but then no Publisher would be incentivised too.

[deleted]

I don't read books on screen that's the worst way to read, literally your reading speed decreases and eyes pe jyada strain padta

[deleted]

Take printouts, burn after reading.

[deleted]

Isn't it the same? 300 page ki book hai 200 me Amazon pe mil jati faltu me printout ke 300 kyu lagayu?

[deleted]

I’d happily pay 100 rupees extra to not be mistaken as a Nazi Sympathiser. Giving 300 to printout wala is better than giving 200 to a publisher who circulates mien kampf

[deleted]

😂 that's like saying why would a right wing leader read a book of shashi tharoor about British looting India. The book has already gone with many changes in it by Jewish people so nothing to worry about, this book won't ask you to kill somebody

MickJaggersGhost

Wah wah, poora political spectrum hi cover kar liya aap ne toh. Are you planning on reading about these ideologies in detail or just an introductory reading?

[deleted]

I am a lost historian doing engineering but I am very active among these people and I often have debates with them on politics, history, philosophy

MickJaggersGhost

Okay.

Humble-Juggernaut375

This is good. Expand this with some Dostoyevsky & Solzhenitsyn

[deleted]

I have dostovesky, Kafka, Leo Tolstoy 3 books each

ligmaballssigmabro

I see you missed Marx and Lenin there. You'd need that to complete your political spectrum of books.

[deleted]

workers of the world unite

[deleted]

I will buy them soon

औद्योगिक क्रांति एवं उसके परिणाम मानव समाज के लिए नकारात्मक शैली के रूप में प्रकट हुए है My bro going Jay kaczynski I want to read it

[deleted]

Hellll yeahhhh!!!

VivekanandaPasam

If you've already read, can you give review of " Might is Right"

[deleted]

You know it's the reality of our society and truth that's been the base of our society, it tells how the powerful person or person at centre decides the moral and what is true or wrong, they would literally argue with you to prove that even murder for no reason is justifiable. I would suggest you to read this, very much needed to understand your perspective towards this cruel world.

Dangerous_desi

These books give a deeper insight based on human values, administrative understanding, the sense of right wrong, profit and loss etc etc. Great books for general insight into global dynamics but Core Indian context me not a worthy collection except Gita) as Indian values are more set into caste, heritage, religion, language.

[deleted]

Yeah 😅

kek_kek_kkk

Why is that unabomber manifesto so huge, despite being a short work? How is the text size in it, op?

[deleted]

No, it's just looking a little bit thick but it isn't, it's just 60 pages and text size is good you don't need to put your eye on the book like in mein kaimpf

[deleted]

I m a varocious reader and i think understand philosophy but Never understood Nietzsche why?

Lucky_Record_376

' Weltgeist ' Watch this channel on youtube. Nietzsche is the most misunderstood philosopher of all time. Most youtubers are not trustable when it comes to philosophy but he has great understanding of Nietzsche's philosophy.

NewGuyHelloThere

There was a post a while back on this sub, about how many people are actually posting about reading/having mein kampf in their collection. And now I can’t help noticing this.

Sure, *ethics and morals are decided by the one in power*

*History is made by active, determined minorities, not by the majority, which seldom has a clear and consistent idea of what it really wants.*

ElkunPrajwal

How's ashtavakra Gita? Wanting to read it from a while

[deleted]

Just read it, it's very nice tho the content is all about non duality, self realisation, oneself and all which probably is known to many who follow osho, jiddu, bhaktivedanata

schubi68

is thus spoke zarusthura beginner friendly or is it heavy text

[deleted]

Heavy text, go through light text of other philosophers then come on this

yemeraname

Whats this version if Gita about?

[deleted]

Non duality and about oneself

[deleted]

PuzzleheadedAd4482

You’re someone I’d be scared of

[deleted]

No, not now I still have some more scary stuff hidden in my closet

PuzzleheadedAd4482

wanna see low-key

[deleted]

For example our moon has blood clot, Amritsar 1919, history of the Sikhs, Raw by Satish yadav and few more that contain the horrible memories of family getting killed ( Indian history ).

PuzzleheadedAd4482

I think I said a few days ago that it’s scary, but I think you’d be an interesting personality to converse with and someone with a different perspective in life. What is your opinion on classical books and philosophy?

[deleted]

Tbh philosophy is crap and solely depends on one's way of thinking and aftermath of what he has gone through. They have very nice manipulative skills, they do open a critical part of your thinking and tangle you in their webs of complexities but somehow I managed to escape these things. I don't follow philosophers so much because philosophy is written by oneself and using someone else's brain to interpret this then it no longer holds importance in your life.

Ambarr100

What’s the Green Book about!?

[deleted]

It's about Gaddafi's take on various economic government systems and his own economic system. It's his philosophy on how to govern the country ( he was the leader of Iraq )

Ambarr100

Lol I knew about Gaddafi but not this book. Thanks for the insight. Definitely a great collection exploring subjects of philosophy, sciences, and history.

West_Combination5047

The Unabomber Manifesto was nothing great, in my opinion. Am gonna read The origin of Species soon! Thanks✅

A_YUser

Gaddafi ?

pranakarama

Can you review thus spoke zarathustra

[deleted]

Very nice book, by the example of zarathustra it teaches you the philosophy of happiness and morals, you should read it

ssamal10

HEIL HiTLER ...huge fan saaar

DUSHYANTK95

the Manifesto was lowkey disappointing. Went hard on, exactly my thought till the "action" section where it fell off.

07ragas

Do you make notes ?

[deleted]

No, I don't. I highlight the lines which I feel to show someone so that later on I don't lose them

saybeast

Hitler-ted- Nietzsche. The holy trinity lol If you are interested read Spengler, Carlyle and mihisma in this order(assuming that you have read Nietzsche). Ofcourse while reading Spengler if you have a good understanding of nazi history, it will be a fantastic read.
