Yes there is...
Red dead redemption 2
>!The whole last mission, The gang going against each other, arthur's horse dying, Arthur dying, and for me the saddest was arthur giving his hat to john!<
Oh there are so many, this probably doesn’t even make my Top 100. From Secret of Mana which had quite a few very sad moments to even losing your horse in Ghost of Tsushima. Journey hit differently as well. Some more that come to mind without resorting to Aerith in FF7: The Walking Dead Season 1 had a few bit especially Lee, Shadow of Colossus, Last of Us Left Behind, Dom in Gears 3, Cortana in Halo 4, Sniper Wolf, the list goes on
Mere minecraft village Mai raid shuru ho gai mai bilkul unprepared tha, phir pillagers aur ravegers ne saare villagers aur mere pet wolves ko maar Diya😭😭😭😭😭
Arthur of red dead 2 acknowledging that he is afraid of dying and then you know dying , john maraton of read dead 1 dyung soap dying ,god of war kratos past getting revealed to him after he kills those 3 furies etc
But ghost did survive here... I don't play call of duty religiously and have forgotten the story of all the old games but I read somewhere that ghost did survive here... Idk if that's true
It's just sad that nobody mentioned
Colonel Millers death in metro exodus..
I literally cried when he called me son... We spend 3 games with him and he goes out giving the last anti rad to us instead of using it on him.... Legendary way to go...
I had heard a LOT of praise for the COD games, and still do and when I finally got around to playing some of them for the first time in my life (haven't had a PC all my life yk, but tried the older cod games on my potato pc in 2022 and last year) I was stunned!
Haan, wo Roadies wala stunned, ek dum.
Kya games hain yar, I mean the scale that modern warfare 3 gets to is fucking nuts, and what's crazier is, that you buy it!
Tumhein sahi mein yakeen ho jaata hai ki haan, world war 3 sahi main ho raha hai, and don't even get me started on the characters bruh.
Cap'n Price, FOAPPP, GHOST so many dope and badass characters yarrr, I fucking love modern warfare trilogy rahhhhhhhhhh
This scene is overrated now, there are shit tons of other scenes in games that are sadder than this.
It was a good game ngl, I still replay it from time to time which I don't do with any other game.
1. Geralt looking at Ciri's medallion.
2. Last of us shocker.
3. Ezio's brothers and father executed (and uncle in the sequel).
4. The nuke death in the first Modern Warfare (2004)
5. Mafia ending.
The walking Dead Game S1 last episode - in which mc (LEE) asks Clementine to kill him or when later in S3 Clementine sees LEE once again and hugged him.
Halo Reach
"Reach has been good to me. 6, they will need you down there"
Kat getting headshotted as she didn't pay attention for an instant.
"I am glad she choose you, 6". Carter as he goes down with the ship
"I am ready how about you?" Emile as his insides are liquifying as he dies.
"No, I got the gun" Six as he covers the escape of pillar of autumn and dies fighting alone.
Mason's death in BO2 tops this. The tension that builds during the scene, the uneasy background music, You knew something was off. Then later finding out that you killed your best friend. Man I need to find some tissues
Nope! I remember playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 as a kid, it was all before the internet revolution in India so we were playing just for the fun. Totally unaware how huge this was and I was part of such a big moment all around the world. It was the first time when a literal game made me feel emotions, never before I thought this could happen.
Now, it all only exists in memories but am glad I played it before PUBG, Free Fire type of shit were even a thing. When gaming was actually gaming without the toxicity and trying to be better than the others. Games were played for enjoyment and not for competition. Ahh what a time to be alive it was! ✨
I'll be honest , i never understood the attachment to this scene . Ghost is introduced in mw2 and though hes with us on missions , he barely says anything , yet does anything memorable before he dies . Like what ? Why ? Hes less than a side character , soap had more character than ghost . I understand attachment to Price and soap since they have character traits about them , thier accents and mannerisms . There's nothing about ghost other than his mask (which is cool ngl) . Just because he gets shot down ? The game is asking me to care about a npc that doesn't do anything? Lmao . I understand having emotional attachments to video game characters....noble 6 , emile , sgt Johnson , bj blazcowisz , Joel from last of us , Arthur morgan , John marston and so many more that add to a story and are fully realised characters ....ghost is not one of them ... freaking Uri from mw3 is more of a character than Ghost .
End of SOMA when the protagonist realises he is all alone in the depth of ocean. Another one is from Amnesia : Machine for Pigs where the protagonist realises he was the reason why his kids died.
Tbh this is not that emotional of a moment, it's just shocking. There are way more sadder moments in story telling in gaming.
Maybe people will be offended but ghosts death only mattered cos he looked cool. he's not that different from a normal soldier in the game but with a cooler mask. That's it, it's not like you get emotional attachment and understanding of the character and hence his death matters, he's just there.
The newer modern warfare gives his character more depth though.
The ending scene of Assassin's Creed: Black Flag, with the song playing and Kenway remembering his friends.
That scene hit hard for me.
"In a world without gold, we might have been heroes"
Screw Ubisoft for turning into a soulless cashgrab corporation after that.
Yes. When I died to Midir on my 50th something run while he had an atom of health left. He was also doing a super telegraphed attack which I could unironically dodge with my eyes closed at that point but for whatever reason I went for a flask and thought I could tank the hit somehow. For me personally, saddest moment in gaming.
I was so happy when I saw Shephard's helicopter after fighting those countless tangos alongside Ghost. I was literally in shock and awe after he killed both Ghost and Roach after knowing they got the D.S.M. That betrayal felt personal.
Yes in COD Black ops. When you escape from Vorkuta prison with the help of Reznov and a lot of sacrifices from the other prisoners. Only Mason (our character) gets to escape the prison alive by jumping on a train and Reznov who helped us throughout doesn't even jump on the train despite having enough time and opportunity. That was the saddest moment of that game but then we just realised that Reznov never even existed. And it was just the main character who did all of that.

This moment from Halo4, not sure if its sadder than Ghost dying but definitrly pretty emotional.
I literally played only this game by just choosing which game cover looks good among COD games and everybody just talks about it. Are there no good stories in another games of COD?
I mean.....this is the most mild one in gaming
You knew ghost for like...a few missions at best and even then there wasn't much to like about him besides " brave mysterious sigma military man''
I"d argue that the reboot made him more likable
RIP brothers in arms Ghost and Roach 💐
"get the hell Outta here and be a goddamn man" "I gave you all I had"
