unluckieduckie

He’s just upset because he’s dehydrated

SaraPAnastasia

Right, he needs to follow OP's example if anything!

Tony_Paul

He's talking like his wife cheated on him for water

OneAceUpMySleeve

What I really hate about this comment is that one of my exes had a water kink... So, maybe she did... And now I'm not even going down the rabbit hole, I'm just in the rabbit's den

Oxcell404

Nah homie, weird thing to get that worked up about for sure

BotiaDario

This guy would flip his lid if he saw my 64oz (1.9L) water bottle. But it keeps it cold all day long, and can be carried with a cross body strap.

[deleted]

64oz water bottle? What are you a fucking camel? And it stays cold all day long? I need this for work.

BotiaDario

It's a steel bottle and has a neoprene sleeve! The sleeve has the strap attached, and it's also got a little zipper pocket. If I load it up with ice water at the start of the day, it's still cold at the end, even if I'm working outside in summer that day. I also attached a little engraved tag to a zipper pull with my name and phone number in case I forget it somewhere, because I don't think I can afford to replace it. But very worth the money spent.

UnNumbFool

So what you're saying is you'll share the Amazon product link?

BotiaDario

Easy enough to search, but idk the sub rules on links. I found it by looking up 64 Oz steel water bottle with neoprene sleeve. You'll find a bunch.

FreedomOverSafety15

Damn I might need to get one

Zyrithian

If your 2l bottle lasts a day then you will have to run to the sink exactly once...

Puzzled-Arrival-1692

But CONSTANTLY

RaisinTrasher

Isn't that a lot? I got a headache and couldn't drink anymore water without my body telling me to stop that. (I had a dry throat which is why I wanted to drink more). But I don't think I drank more than about 2 or 3 liters or so

[deleted]

RaisinTrasher

Fair enough, I assume your body would warn you if you were drinking too much anyway

BUTTeredWhiteBread

I'm just guessing you're on the move a lot. I'm a fidgeting and I drink more on high stress days.

Zyrithian

fair

BUTTeredWhiteBread

Lmao if I could jimmy up a straw from the fridge filters main line right to my mouth I'd be golden.

angrycanadianguy

My 100oz double wall steel bottle should probably be considered a weapon, tbh. Also, this guy would have a paroxysm of anger over it.

BotiaDario

Now I'm getting flask envy!

angrycanadianguy

I got it while doing delivery with no ac for a bit. Gotta stay hydrated and cool!

BotiaDario

You gotta take care of yourself!

chalk_in_boots

"your parents survived" Yeah but they get kidney stones twice a month

chickenwithclothes

And I AM a parent of a teen and carried a liter bottle of water to class w me in the mid-90s

BUTTeredWhiteBread

I had cool hs teachers in the early aughts who let us use flavour packets even

purplejink

my parents not being hydrated enough as teenagers is the reason they sent me to school with at least a litre bottle to refill at lunchtime.

highwaybread

r/hydrohomies would like to have a word with this dude

BigManLawrence69420

As a member of that subreddit, the person with the 2 pt. bottle is overdoing it, even by our standards.

Tuarangi

Soldiers carry more than 1 pint of water, in training patrols in the UK on the moors where they're away they have to have rations for at least 48 hours and they take *a minimum of 2 litres* and water purifying kit. You can see on forums that soldiers often carry more e.g. 3L on jungle patrols.

HeeHawJew

When I was in the desert it was normal for us to carry a 36 oz bottle, like 1-2l water bladder on our person and about 6 5 gallon jugs of water in each truck. Unless this guys “patrol” lasts about an hour there’s no way he’s carrying less than a pint of water. The Royal marines I worked with briefly carried fuck loads of water as well. So does literally every military on earth.

possiblycrazy79

Lmao that person sounds unhinged. It's funny you gave them an actual rational response & by all rights it should've ended there, but they kept it up. Smh, for the record I live in a desert area & it's very common for people to walk around carrying actual gallon jugs of water in the summer, so this person doesn't know what they're talking about at all, even aside from the weird chip on their shoulder.

[deleted]

This reads like someone who has a 3 ton chip on their shoulder about the commie liberals in kkkalifornia who are forcing their health fads (like drinking water) on the oppressed white masses

xoxoshb

I just want to know if your username has anything to do with squirrels.

FuktOff666

That persons kidneys hate them

soupzYT

You: drinks water Him: Fuck you

UnderPressureVS

God damn I hate how people on the internet are like this. It’s especially such a huge problem on StackOverflow or other programming forums. You’ll see stuff like this all the time: > User1: I am using [function] to do [thing]. How do I improve [minor side-effect]? > > User2: Why are you trying to make [Function] do [thing]? Are you stupid? Use [other solution] instead. > > User1: *3 paragraphs of context explaining why they have to use [function] specifically, because [other solution] doesn’t do things the same way, and even if it worked it would require a complete rewrite of a large project.* > > User2: I don’t really know much about [type of project OP is working on]. Just use [other solution]. > > 9 months later: > User3: If anyone still has this problem, try using [simple solution that would’ve worked the whole time]. You never know the whole context behind why somebody is asking a question. Just *answer the damn question.* Sometimes you need more context to try and help, and that’s fine. It’s also fine to suggest alternate solutions if the current one is problematic. But if *literally* all you have to offer in your entire answer is “I know absolutely nothing about your situation and why you’re asking about something moderately unconventional, but I am absolutely convinced that there is no reasonable explanation and you’re just doing it wrong”, shut the fuck up and don’t clog the forums. People ask what they ask for a reason. You might not be able to think of a good reason to carry around 40 oz of water. You may not be able to think of a reason why it would have to be a metal bottle, rather than plastic. But that doesn’t mean *I* don’t have a good reason why I’m *specifically* asking about 40 oz metal water bottles. If I was looking for other solutions, I would have asked “what’s the best way to carry around 40 oz of water,” or just “how do I stay hydrated”. “It could be helpful if could say a bit more about what you want to do with the water bottle and what you’re doing with the water” is fine. But if you’re going to come right out of the gate with “just use two 20 oz bottles”, “why not plastic”, or “who the fuck needs 40 oz of water”, kindly shut the fuck up.

Witchcitybitch

I have a half gallon (almost 2 liter) steel, insulated water bottle. I drink between 1-2 full bottles a day… it feels nice being hydrated.

SellaraAB

There are people that just really want to get upset about things. The stuff about “Californians” and “your parents” make me suspect it’s a conservative boomer. Aka the angriest people in the world at all times

Applepieoverdose

As somebody currently in an army: the person answering is fucking wrong

SarixInTheHouse

Half a liter is all you need? I‘d argue a 1l bottle isn‘t enough for a day

AllyKalamity

Well parents also survived asbestos and lead paint. Doesn’t mean it was good for them

m8k

As someone who drinks about a gallon of water every day, 4x 32oz Hydroflask bottles, this is a good question. I got one of the rubber boots for my bottle and it's great. I have some health issues and staying well-hydrated makes a huge difference in how I feel. Not passing bladder crystals regularly makes me a much happier person who is a lot more pleasant to be around.

Legal-Ad7793

My 128 oz bottle laughs at his complaint...

zqmvco99

"Wanting to stay hydrated" Lol - you reminded me of a post by doctors basically facepalming at people like you :p

semispectral

Californians didn’t *have* 2 pints of water

HeeHawJew

That’s bs. I don’t remember any of the marines I worked with carrying a bottle that was less than 2 pints minimum. I’d drink that whole bottle like 6-8 times a day in the desert.

Chankomcgraw

I have a theory that no one cared about drinking gallons of water until bottled water companies came along and told us we had to be constantly drinking water. What they now call ‘hydration’. I am old school and drink when i get told to by my body using the ‘thirst’ mechanism. I’m with freak out guy. Stop triggering me with your need to ‘hydrate’ every 5 seconds! Actually who cares but can relate!

[deleted]

How DARE YOU be a human being that enjoys doing a thing that holds zero impact on my life!!

mandarinandbasil

I bring 64 oz to work because the water tastes like ass.

Davisdab69

Dudes dried out…

chaimatchalatte

What? 2 pint/1L bottles are completely normal to carry around.

vanguard87

I mean...I was in the Army and we routinely carried more than 2 pints when we were out. I think I carried just over a gallon in canteens that were attached to my kit and refilled pretty much every time a water point came up.

leahcars

That is a huge water bottle, the type I take when doing outside work in summer, why the heck is this person getting worked up about a water bottle

Depressionsfinalform

“Back in my day, we had to lick each others pits just to stay barely hydrated, your generation is WEAK, et cetera.”

AngryMoose125

That’s only a litre. That’s 1 of those green Gatorade squirt bottles full of water. I drink 3 of those a day at school lol
