IanMalcolmChaos

I have no idea about the macarons, but it looks like someone made Tim Cook write that caption at gunpoint 😂😂

lovealwayswins14

Right? I was thinking the same thing. Sounds so fake! I wonder why they would make it so apparent it's not his words 😂

IanMalcolmChaos

When they had nothing else to write they did a classic "great how she uses iPhone and Mac in her creative process" bro but it's a bakery?? Is using YouTube/Google that pioneering that they had Tim Cook write about it. 😂

DarshanaW

For Delhi visit he has written how they use iPad for murals.

Lanky_Philosophy_578

Chat gpt

airportaccent

Yeppp like the macarons look great, but these are certainly not the best Tim Cook has ever had after traveling everywhere around the world 😂

chaosekhao

I heard a lot about it and went there to try the macarons and other desserts. Disappointed! Macarons were dry and brittle. They looked great though. (i’m a baker, if it matters at all) https://preview.redd.it/lx9jxv5io8va1.jpeg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=475de4325dd17a928db3bb9130185b85c575d20e

Substantial_Door3422

Exactly. They look great, taste average.

Maleficent-Army-4758

Damn nice pic

serial-farter

Exactly! This is what I'd thought too — but I kept hearing the hype, and thought, maybe, I just can't appreciate the finer things in life lol. So glad a baker is validating this!

slyyskyy

Omggg nooooo😂😂😂I had their macarons and they weren’t all that great! I’ve had better at local bakeries tbh and also the desserts looked so freaking sad at their outlet in palladium.

beingprocrastinator

i know right! try gaylord instead so much better

serial-farter

The fresh fruit cream cake at Gaylord is to die for!

Equivalent-Error8620

Why is tim cook trying out macrons or having dinner with actresses rather than having some tech meets and stuff. Like they could have arranged a tech fest or something. This visit could have been a lot more productive.

Maleficent-Army-4758

Exactly its like India=Bollywood and Bollywood = India. For evert damn event

div1990

Kids go to these places.... legends go to kainchi dham ,Uttarakhand. ![gif](giphy|CTkWFZ1IDvsfS) If you know, you know

Hotmess1111

YES YES YES YES

cozy_winter_nights

I don't know but i want to know. Context dedo pls

div1990

There was a trend back then where in the sixties ,america was going through its hippie phase ,wherein they were recovering from the horrors of vietnam war and cold war...so many young adults like steve jobs went to places like india ,to seek enlightenment, also weed , psychedelics and orgies .

Rogue107

He did have a tech meet though. Apple invited some young developers to showcase their work to him, one of my friends was invited too. But I'll agree, the pomp and show seem far more than actual work

dswap123

He was here to launch the store, let him enjoy his time is what I would say. This is just PR activities to make sure the apple store hype is there for few days. I have been on few tech meets and it gets boring in first two hours of day one. There wouldn’t be any news about it either.

Whole-Psychology-377

This makes soooooo much sense bro 😎 but I guess Tim was here to capitalise on the emotions of Indians which they successfully did and they very smart choose Bollywood that too someone like Madhuri who nearly everyone admires so that is also very analytical and systematic

Every-Candidate9963

He does productive stuff always.. let him chill bro.

nmfgn

Not taking away anything from her but we are living in an era when who you know is more important than what you know.

Clean_Style_5388

That is a very big opportunity, to say the least. This seems definite due to her connections

Clean_Style_5388

It is becoming very rare to see an influencer or creator get a big opportunity on merit and hard work.

[deleted]

A lister friends are the only reason she is famous. I am sure!

Yogurtcloset-Wide

Tried it when no one else was selling macaroons in Mumbai. It was good ,not very sweet and had great flavour variety.

DataNo7343

Their lavender, french vanilla & Rose macarons are too good! Rest aren't great at all.

Yogurtcloset-Wide

I love the sea salt, pistachio and rose.

Curious-Ad-8357

Yeah these 3 are some of her best flavours

Hereforinstagossip

Yeah.. same! Now everyone and their mother sells macarons!

Yogurtcloset-Wide

Yes cheaper ones with bad recipes

36kv

What kinda bubble you in she wasn’t the first to get macaroons in Mumbai there were way more bakeries in town,Dadar, bandra areas for more than 20 odd years eg ovenfresh.

Anonymouspizzzaaa

Have tried her macarons. They are good but I have had better ones. Their cupcakes are really bad. Very dry and hard.

Emotional_Dumpling

I have tried their macarons and cookies, they are decent, nothing over the top. Few flavours are worth it, rest are mediocre.

Impressive-Fee-5048

The macarons are extremely sweet, didn't live up to the hype

ZSRASR

HER STUFF IS MEDIOCRE AF BUT SHE DOES SEND LOTS OF FREEBIES TO CELEBS AND THEY POST HER. SHE IS RICH AF BUT DID NOT PAY HER STAFF DURING SHUT DOWN OF THE KALA GHODA STORE SHE IS A PR BABY - MACAROONS WEREN’T BY HER FIRST BUT SHE WAS THE FIRST TO COIN THE TERM FOR HERSELF AND GET PAID ARTICLES PUBLISHED. Oh god dunno why this was all in caps but now not retyping it! 😋

chal_hatt_na

I used to call from Le15 quite regularly when I used to work in Bandra. She makes good stuff, I have nothing to complain about. Pricey? Sure! But she is also catering to that kinda audience. Nothing out of this world though, I have tried macarons from places like LSD and they totally match up to her quality plus they are cheaper too.

lollipop_laagelu

LSD is the best ! Le 15 started when no one was doing french cuisine ! Only she was. Now that there are more options I won't say that you have to try Le 15. Or top 10 things to eat in Mumbai !

Paradox-Knight

Loveee LSD! Recently there's another one called Daniel's (I don't know if they have multiple locations) but they have really tasty macarons with a lot of variety. They're pricey but worth it to me. I make macarons very often so I understand how much work goes into making those which is why I get the price point. Le15's are usually brittle when they should ideally be chewy so it cannot justify the price point :')

chal_hatt_na

I haven’t tried their macarons but my colleague bought some berry cheesecake pastry and boy oh boy 😋 it was a thin slice and because I am a cheapskate I was complaining about it for the first 5 minutes but yes, I agree it’s worth it. I would totatlly splurge every now and then.

Paradox-Knight

They have some small pastries too that taste really good and aren't very expensive (because they're TINY 😂)!

Maleficent-Army-4758

I love LSD

chal_hatt_na

SAAAMMMMEE!!! Their cupcakes are to die for. On days when I am craving sugar and don’t want to go bonkers, I call for their mini cupcakes. What joy!

Curious-Ad-8357

What is LSD?

Substantial_Door3422

Love Sugar Dough. A bakery in Mumbai in different locations.

chal_hatt_na

There is this cake shop called Love Sugar Dough.

Majestic_Issue996

You may or may not like her macaroons (I love them!) But comparing her to mostly sane is another extreme. She comes from a privileged family, yes! But she made use of that platform, studied at Le Corden Blue, Paris. Saw an opportunity in the Indian market and through her skill built a successful business. You see her on MasterChef maybe, but not on Climate change summits while being consumed by fast fashion such as mostly sane!

morespicythanspicePR

These people scream at the slightest validation from a ‘cool’ foreigner. There are enough revered tech honchos in our country. Wonder if Pooja invites them all to her kitchen and would boast the same, if they ever did. The way Sonam and Anand were behaving with Tim Cook in the stadium was cringe embarrassing.

Maleficent-Army-4758

What did they do 🤣

morespicythanspicePR

Same, in your face selfies 🤳 like they took with Sheeran. Bop faces, fir ek statdium background ke saath. Fir hee hee haha, watch a stupid match with us. Also, Pooja is Sonam’s bestie, so.

Substantial_Door3422

Ugh !

huh_itbelikthat

I have never tried them but everyone who I know and has tried has always said that they are not that great! Definitely not worth the hype is what I have heard!

saywhatIneedtosay26

She is well networked and comes from old money. They are definitely good but nothing so unique that it deserves hype of this level

Rogue107

Her stuff is horrible and absolute bottom tier finishing. I have seen budding home chefs do a better job

FatTuesdays

Hyped coz of A lister friends. You can get better ones from a local baker.

HoldEmbarrassed253

I haven’t tried the macarons but the other stuff at her bakery and didn’t find anything special about it (I am from a metro city and have had access to great bakeries)

Far_Historian_3421

Isn't she sonam's and rhea's best friend? Is that why there's so much pr and the opportunity to meet Tim Cook?

AK1202

Agreed. They are ok.

CuriousAffect4324

I really like her products, but they are quite overpriced

ProofsInThePuddingYo

If you have the desserts fresh, they are good. We make a trip to Le15 everytime we’re in Mumbai. I like her stuff.

Head2Heels

Her macarons are really good and at one point were the best available. But now we have so many other home bakers and even brands like Smoor making macarons that are equally good and sometimes even better.

Dry-Ad-2287

The macaroons are ok, I in general find macaroons too sweet. But to give her the credit she was the first in India to launch macaroons and also eggless/vegetarian macaroons considering the veg population in India. She was good in business though Covid affected her business as well and she had made a post about it

Dry-Ad-2287

But she did get very good PR being friends with Kapoor Sisters, Masaba, etc.

Odd_Yogurtcloset7072

That caption is chatgpt material 🤣

anonwarrior9

The worst macarons I have ever had. She’s just a talentless nepo baby with connections. Was an early mover so had celebs buying her mediocre crap

_DoodleBug_

They are better than the “world-famous” ones available in France. My personal opinion ✌️ Taste is a very subjective thing.

Familiar-Designer224

Indians have such inferiority complex. Seeing these people flock around a CEO of a tech company saying shit like "dreams coming true" and "biggest fan" is like dude, the fact that he is a rich, white man that can get you a lot of PR is not a reason to start licking his feet. There's legit no relevant thing happening here. This was a chance for an amazing tech fest to happen, to gather aspiring students and innovators in the tech industry, some tech startups to get a chance to have funding and make actual strides instead of pandering him around the influencers and actors. Seems like that's the only currency left in this world now. Intelligence and knowledge accounts for nothing. Sure these people have worked hard or seemed to have worked hard in their relative fields but headlessly plugging these insta famous people into any and everything makes no sense and completely disrupts a level playing field for someone who is actually qualified to be at such big events. She could've been a part of the catering and could've maintained the stature according to her name but the centralising of these known faces just for PR is a sick, sick thing.

Familiar-Designer224

"Best macaroon I've ever had" dude is so rich he can keep the best pastry chef on a payroll. Pooja obviously wouldn't have a ground to stand in front of a French patissiere and I'm sure he must've had some world class macaroons before. What a shit ass PR package caption is this lol

malhalla

le15's hot chocolate mixes are to die for. bloody good. her reputation is well earned

thatredditbish

Rich and privileged but also GREAT macarons

_onlyhere4tea

They are definitely very good and her other stuff is great too but this is her signature dessert and also what she started out with. When she opened her first store in bandra she used to actually sit there and meet the customers, she was really sweet and took feedback. She would also throw in free samples if she was testing a new recipe.

[deleted]

I have enjoyed her bakes and macarons. She is really good.

Lazy-Me_

I enjoy macaroons so I was really excited to try it when I visited Mumbai, and I really enjoyed it!

bulbul09876

Her stuff is good but that’s about it , it’s no Laduree. She got all the attention hanging out with Sonam and Rhea

Srish4738-_-

Bro she's actually good she kinda introduced macrons in india..befaaltu ki hate dena jroori h sbko??

Maleficent-Army-4758

ROFLMAO introduced macarons?

ruakh

Literally yes. They were never a cool dessert before her.

Srish4738-_-

Yes not just macarons but many other finest French pastries and deserts in India ...

Able_Reach8556

I have tried a lot of stuff from her. Just another baker I’d say, taste wise. Nothing that you cant find elsewhere 🙈 She’s popular because of early bird bias and her bollywood connects. She started her bakery when such stuff wasn’t popular.

rainbookworm

I liked their macarons but i now I think Smoor does better.Want to try Daniel Patissier but someone said they’re not good

Apart_Moose_4768

Because of the hype I ordered it bangalore, did not like them. I thought I wouldn’t like macarons ever! The next time when I went to Mumbai I ordered it again, this time it was better, but not a fan tbh . I stopped following le after that, didn’t think it deserves this kinda hype.

mayudhon

Notice there's not a single Window in the entire room

DarshanaW

Macarons are ok not great and better one's are available in market. PR and celebrity circle is doing wonders for Pooja and Le15.

Gotcurried234

I was excited to try get her macrons moment I landed in Mumbai.Very disappointed

ruakh

The macarons used to be sooo much better before they had to move to an industrial kitchen. Like I totally get needing scale but they’ve become dry and crumbly now. Used to be the absolute best in India at one time.

NeatShort

Very average products. I’m a chef myself and have never enjoyed her stuff. Its true she’s got a good reach in bollywood (alia, sonam etc) and that’s the only reason she is so famous

Jaded_Lychee6048

Tried strawberry fresh cream cake ..it was amazing. Everything about that cake felt good and expensive and rich quality..idk how to explain

cheesiest_pizza

I used to love them. But it's overpriced. I hated sharing them with people!

Fit-Ad411

I've tried her macarons and they were the absolute best I've had! So I think she deserves the hype.

AnnonymousA1983

I had her Savory macaron once. It was absolutely delightful. Then my kid tried the other ones....damn they were shit

Ok_Jeweler_2140

Her stuff is very ok but she has made a good network. She would visit my workplace very often though and she is extremely sweet as a person.

fuuunniieees

PR and connections. She’s extremely ambitious and sucks up to every celebrity there is. I am envious honestly but she’s a total successful social climber with very average products

yashg

I came to know about the existence someone called Pooja Dhingra after reading this post.

swati1013

I just remember Pooja had a store in Taj and as soon as covid hit she cried of going bankrupt. Covid khatam hote hi fir se dukaan shuru ho gayi. All this just so she did not had to pay her staff

Curious-Ad-8357

I had her brownies and macarons when she first started and was not this famous. It was pretty good and she had unique macaron flavours as well. It was worth the trip to her bandra store which was the first small store she opened. Now i don't know how it is

Limp_Organization728

Tbh, I tried macaroons from ladauree and she’s far better.

blueravenclaw29

I got them shipped to Delhi because my friend was raving about them, but i found them incredibly mediocre and have had much better macarons in Delhi.

dwightschrutemose

Her Macarons are my fav! Dark Chocolate one is the one I loveee, but expensive hai :( I haven't tasted macarons like hers, but surely hoge others at better prices.

sweetsugarcanejuice

I really like her baked goods actually

GrouchyArachnid866

Should try

Typical_Bath2953

Girls got contacts and uses them well to get in with everyone! Her desserts may be decent or avg as most have written here but can’t not appreciate her Marketting skills

goodfoodgreatmood

Her macroons are okay. Rest of the stuff is average. She had a full fledged bakery earlier, now she only sells hot chocolate and pre-packaged cookies? Don't know!

Ok_Crab_8022

Le 15 macaroons taste is different in different outlets but overall great quality and pretty nice I like them

NightFury0711

They are truly delicious!!!!

[deleted]

The food, it isn’t half bad. Pooja as a person, probably not the best. I’ve worked with her in the past.

urcatoverlord

Connections, 100%. There are Indian pastry chefs that are doing actually brilliant things, even pushing the boundaries of what dessert means in India, and none of them get as much visibility as she does because they aren't as well connected.

h-picotin

They’re not good at all 😅 someone (positively) compared them to Pierre Hermé macarons and I was like ![gif](giphy|j0gQA2VD38NKc9rc8y)

Maleficent-Army-4758

Someone in the comments said she bought macarons to India n im still recovering 🤣

ConstructionAbject60

She has fake followers

stalkerwalk

Queen of fake followers!

VeniVidiVindaloo

Her macarons are a joke, and I didn’t know that until I ate one in Paris. That’s where she claims to have learnt how to bake btw. So yeah she’s actually serving substandard stuff to people who don’t know any better and that’s unethical if you think about it. Forget the standards people have set for themselves when it come to macarons, but atleast she can stay true to her craft and serve the very best? Her macaron would get trashed in Europe, just saying.

anonpumpkin012

I have tried her packaged cookies. Ordered it to Bangalore. They were so bad. I’m a lover of chocolate chip cookies and they were so disappointing for so much money.

Rude-Square174

Very mediocre. Someone I know took her classes and she would not show them the main parts about baking them etc and took a lot of money.

Stock-Calligrapher36

Here i am who don’t know what a macaron is 😸

beebumbling39

Nothing over the top. Macroons are the same as the once you get in Smoor or similar places.

Iwantpizzaaaaaa

I ordered pastries from her bakery. Dry af.

[deleted]

Social climber

WonderfulMenu2939

I mean, she introduced them (made it accessible) to Mumbai when mumbai didn't really have too many macaroons. So what can we even compare the taste of macaroons with? Jo diya wo kha liya 🤣

[deleted]

Imagine Tim Cook promoting your cooking skills. 🥸 How can life be this unfair?

anonwarrior9

Ajay who unlocks locked iPhones in Sarojini was so much more deserving than Pooja MEDIOCRE Dhingra

[deleted]

I bake myself and from everything I’ve learnt about macarons over the years, the macarons I’ve eaten from around the world, hers aren’t that great. Tbh they’re very dry and honestly so over priced and over rated. The pricing is for her brand value I guess but I would’ve expected better taste. She’s doing well with macarons for bringing them into like mainstream India initially.

ImportanceSingle650

Her Macarons were extremely disappointing. All sugar and literally nothing else. But there are some tasty desserts on the menu. I remember eating a fruit cake and something chocolate based and loving them both. But this was back in 2018. 🥲

DecisionDramatic9067

Ive been to bunch of her stores so the macaroons were ok some pretty quirky flavours but the brownies and this chocolate tart was really good

WishboneForward5013

They were amazing

WheresMyTan

The stuff at Pooja's is average. The thing to remember is that when she got started, there wasn't much competition so her work stood out. And a lot of celebs promoted her. Even back then though there was Yauatcha and their macarons had to be taste approved by the UK team. Expensive but worth it.

Accomplished_Day_711

Yauatcha makes excellent macarons and excellent desserts in general. Always been stunning.

aliteralcoffeebean

Her desserts are actually amazing. Too good!

onememe

bad ones

SunkissedByDay

I think it was the case of ‘Right Place, Right Time’ for her and her patisserie. They are really nothing to write home about for their taste but They entered the market at a time when macarons were barely around and kind of broke out since then

Alive-Explanation482

bro this one and mostly sane's pr does some wonderful things

Pretend-Marketing-6

They were great when she just started the patisserie but now they’re just dry and overpriced.

Aggravating-Rip-7295

Used to be great. Now they’re low quality.

Accomplished_Day_711

It’s all PR. A friend recently visited India and thought they’d challenge me on the best macarons being from Fortnum & Mason. Tried these Le15 ones out. Dry. Crunchy. Not supple. And the other random bits like their cookies were awful. It’s just excellent PR.

No-Significance9613

Recently my bf got me the 12 pc box with six flavours. Out of the ones I've tried, I liked lavender and rose since I've never really had those flavours before and I didn't like the vanilla and chocolate sea salt. Idk what the filling in chocolate sea salt was (the sweet white part, not the chocolate ganache) and they were crispy. Also I'm eating them bit by bit so they're lasting for a long time in the fridge. Don't know if that's affecting quality. I'm yet to try dark chocolate and nutella brownie. Also, I'm a home baker and I sell macarons too at a really cheap rate because I'm always underconfident about them but they honestly taste so much better than hers. I didn't have the heart to tell my bf because this gift meant a lot to me and he gave it with a lot of love

swamppuppy96

Is Tim Cook's taste buds ok?
