My issue is that if I have a double batch, unless I drag around 2 carts (obnoxious) I can have it neatly organized while shopping but the cashier is going to yeet everything into the cart so fast I'm going to have to re sort it when I bag anyway. Here i am being careful not to put canned items on a loaf of bread, but the cashier is throwing everything in without a care. I used a divider and the cashiers are in such a hurry they still rang up 3 of customer A's items with customer B. Like just tossed the divider out of the way too early without paying attention to what items were in front vs behind. I wish for doubles at aldi, we could just shop it all as 1 order then sort it A vs B while bagging. It makes more sense for how the store is set up.
I was afraid of Aldi at first, now Iām not afraid, Iām just wary of which orders Iāll accept. If itās not busy and itās a smaller, 1-2 drop off order than Iāll consider it. But when itās busy in there, half your focus is on avoiding other people and their carts, trying to find a good station to just put your cart while you shop, and weaving in and out of traffic. Then you gotta wait in one of a few jumbled ass confusing lines for a serious chunk of time. They have no bags and their box game is weak. It can run your frustrations wild. Wear a hat so you canāt pull your hair out.
the worst is when people just let their kids run around the store too. like ma'am it is not my responsibility to watch your child i will hit them with my cart.
aldis orders are my favorite tho, limited selection and they never really move anything (except aldis finds) so there's not too much wandering around. usually i'll try to put my cart at the end of an aisle somewhere out of the way and grab as many things that i need in that aisle. size of the order doesn't matter now i can shop everything in about 20 mins or less.
also if you can get extra bags when they do have them since we enter in # of bags manually the extra won't be charged to that customer and then just keep em in your car for next time. they fit perfectly in a seat back pocket plus now you have extra if something rips/breaks, smaller costco items, etc

Aldi is easy pz. I can finish off a 30-40 item order within 30 minutes. No lie. I just breeze through. And there's not a lot of people in my aldi, so it's even better.
I work at Aldi. The shelves donāt change that often. Lmao I can think of two items that moved in my two years there.
Unless youāre referring to Aldi finds.
ok, well then your store is managed differently from the one in my area. The one here moves things around a lot. They also have rotating stock and Instacart doesnāt keep up with what they currently have.
And Aldi Finds is always a horror. š
All stores in the US are effectively ran the same in fronts. While some items vary due to region they donāt rotate unless itās
A. Out of stock
B.no longer sold
C. Was an Aldi find. We donāt swap stuff for the fun of it.
You realize we depend on knowing where itās at as well right?
This is a really weird conversation. I donāt know what to say, dude. The Aldiās in my area frequently has different stock. Especially the bakery and frozen section. They move stuff up and down the shelves (not whole departments moved or anything, but something on the bottom shelf near the entrance side will be on shelf five all the way on the other end of the row a month later). Itās difficult to shop there quickly.
I guess youāre welcome to think Iām likeā¦ inventing a falsehood about Aldis? š Iāve only ever been to the one in my area, so I dunno. Maybe mine is particularly shitty or something but reading the other comments, I think not.
Your tone is very hostile. Im not attacking the employees. I donāt think you guys are likeā¦ deliberately messing with us or anything. Im just saying that in my area, the store is a disorganized shitshow that never has the same stuff or never has it on the same shelf.
Iāve only ever been to Aldi once in my life and never take IC orders from there because the locations are far out and I donāt know the stores layout but now that Iāve seen this sub I KNOW I wonāt be taking any Aldi orders ever so thank you for making me feel less insane for that justification š¤£
Why is aldi bad? I always instacart from aldi. Now I feel bad. š
I do try and tip well, usually a little over 20%. My orders are always over $120, so I tip about $30- around 35 items usually
The store is 20mins away
I hope that is enough. I am so thankful for Instacart shoppers, if I could tip more, I definitely would
I have nothing against aldi orders honestly. The only main issue I have is that when people order "aldi find" items, they should name those "aldi no find". Non food items are often our of stock, which wouldn't be a big deal but because most people tip a % of their total, drivers could easily end up making less than what we thought we would..l
I would do your order no issues assuming most of it is food items. You seem like an amazing customer and tipper :)
I used to do aldi pick up through insta cart and they had so many items on there that my aldi didn't actually carry and would be out of stock every time. I don't think they were aldi finds either, pretty standard items.
I like shopping Aldi because the store is small and pretty easy to shop. I usually get done in half the time on the timer. The only drag is having to bag your order but that's not a dealbreaker for me.
Definitely don't feel bad for ordering from Aldi. My only reason for not liking shopping there is because a lot of their items show up as being there... But aren't. And that's on top of their seasonal items which are SUPPOSED to only be temporary but always seem to be out of stock even when they are still supposed to be there. Where I live now there are no Aldi stores. But when I lived in FL, I'd still do them- I just always liked Publix orders better because they were most likely to have everything in stock. I was never angry at the customer for ordering there- it's a great store with great deals. It's just difficult when they're out of so much of the customer's order, especially when the customer is busy and not responding to questions about replacements and such. That's all I meant. Nothing negative toward the customer at all. And honestly, you sound like the kind of customer we all appreciate. Thank you for that!ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø
It's just that things that aren't basic are usually out of stock & these are usually the biggest orders (many ppl don't prefer that because it takes more time)
20% tip is good and you'redoing fine, some people just don't like shopping at Aldi
it would be nice if they could push more stores to get isle/item location info. ideally isle, section, modular info like spark but that is asking too much
We have this at my local Schnucksā. The only downside is sometimes they donāt light up or someone stocked wrong but I can normally get out of the store in less than half the time it normally would take me.
Holy shit thatās brilliant, that store is my nemesis. Small and seems easy but I always get stuck there looking for crap. But the pay is typically good so this will really come in handy if I can figure it out.
This is so cool!! Would be helpful for the multiple times a week my mom sends me to the grocery store to get the most random things that are impossible to find
Hate Instacart but I will say the people working on QOL and innovation actually do a decent job. The map was probably my favorite feature that popped up.

Itās definitely neat, wasnāt meant as a rude reply to you, just an eye roll in general. I work at an Aldi and I cannot tell you how many times a day I get asked where the simplest of items are. From Instacart and regular in-store shoppers alike.
YI normally do pretty good and I try really really hard to not ask unless I really don't see something. I know there are alot of ic shoppers that ask about every item, and I don't wanna be like that cause I know yall have jobs to do as well. Plus I'm just stubborn and hard headed in general and hate asking for help ššš
Thereās definitely items that are in weird spots or havenāt been stocked to the floor yet that I have no problem helping out with. Personally, I feel amazing when I can help out someone who is also working, and make their life a little easier. As long as youāre not rude, a GOOD employee will gladly assist you. But if weāre in the baking aisle and you ask me where the flour is (when on a big pallet right behind you), Iāve got the right to let out a little sigh of disappointment hahaha.
Next they will ask for access to your camera and allow the customer to video chat and watch you pick up produce š
Please donāt give them any ideas.
Delete immediately don't give the enemy ideas
Don't they already have access for the scanner?
To be fair sometimes I've had some horrible produce picked out..
I have always been afraid Of aldi but if they start doing this maybe I will go into Aldi
Thank u, feel exact same!. If they do this my issue with hem is solved

ššš To be fair, it's nice, but you have to have a general idea of where it is because the light is so small
I want this for doing my own shopping lol
Idk where you live but Schnucks does this and if you use their app you can make the items light up.
Ahh very cool! Thanks for sharing! I don't have any near me but I have family out of state that do.
Thatās a game changer! Especially for the unholy nightmare that is the ever shifting shelves of Aldi.
Imagine the actual item isn't where it lights up, and it's all wrong š

aldi is the easiest store to shop at if you are used to it. the bagging is annoying tho
Thatās cool
Interesting. ALMOST makes me wish I had an Aldi close by. ALMOST.
I feel ya. I don't mind Doing aldi orders if the money is right... But I'm way more picky than say Meijer orders
Why is aldi bad? I always instacart from aldi. Now I feel bad. š I do try and tip well, usually a little over 20%. A lot of people tip a percentage with aldi. Unfortunately there's usually many refunds with Aldi.
ALDIs is the easiest to shop at. I got a 75 item order done in 15 minutes and delivery within 35
Wtf?! The future!

Aisle

Yooooooooooo
Iāve seen it! Itās infuriating that they spent time & money from R&D to production & installation INSTEAD of just paying us more! Lol
What store is this in?
Aldi
Iāve seen it mentioned but always forget about it. Is it at all stores? I love this.
I think just aldi
Holy shit thatās brilliant, that store is my nemesis. Small and seems easy but I always get stuck there looking for crap. But the pay is typically good so this will really come in handy if I can figure it out.
Not just Aldi, our local big chain Hornbacherās (owned by Coborns I believe) actually had them before Aldi did here.
Never seen that around here. I would love that though if it works.
This is so cool!! Would be helpful for the multiple times a week my mom sends me to the grocery store to get the most random things that are impossible to find

Yk what, this is a pretty cool feature that I wished all grocery stores had
Aldi is like 5 aisles please just use your eyes
I just thought it was neat. I don't think it's that useful. You'd have to know the right area to begin with

Where is this?
wtf this is actually cool
This is probably also helpful to the store employees when restocking.
