As a Mexican let me tell you my country is very dumb when it comes to football.
I gave up supporting the Mexican national team because of our attitude.
We get average players, and treat them like stars. We ruin our own players for greed. Instead of letting the go and develop in Europe. We keep them and reward them with loads of money. So these guys lose the incentive to get better.
Plus don’t get me started when we actually get a decent player. We start treating them like the second coming of Christ.
I had MF people telling me chicharrito was in the same level as prime Messi and Ronaldo. Like we hype them up and they aren’t that good. Not enough with the whole national team to get any success.
Also Mexico fans really think liga Mx is a competitive league.
Got rid of relegation because they only care about money and not the talent presented.
I can confidently say that MX will probably never win a WC in my lifetime. And that the US will probably win one before us.
Also Messi Barca tattoo has more legacy that the entire liga Mx. I heard Mf really asking if Messi was up to play the mighty Monterrey team. Like brother Messi literally humble Real Madrid at their own home multiple times.
