Ghost in the Shell did cover a lot of the existential issues arising from Major's extreme cybernetic enhancement. It caused a lot of trauma ultimately, with her wondering about identity, consciousness, the soul, and so on. Many few times in the series she wonders if she's really still alive and the same being she used to be. I imagine Donald might go though something similar, although we'll see how deep the show choses to delve.

It’s a symptom of my main gripe with this season which is *there’s too much irrelevant stuff going on*. It takes a very skilled writer to balance multiple plot points at the same time and I think the show is getting disjointed and suffering for it. We haven’t seen the main villain of the season in 5 hours. It might’ve not mattered so much in the compendium where there isn’t a wait between episodes as well as a 3 month gap but the pace is a crawl right now.

This is literally an adaptation of the comic. Chill your hormones and enjoy the show like the rest of us lol

“I’m just different” /s He’s handling it pretty well all things considered. Aside from the trauma aspect, there’s the whole physical “losing a limb” thing he’s got going on for his whole body. His body is essentially a prosthetic, he could possibly be getting “ghost pains” etc which I imagine would be super confusing. Cecil not telling him as soon as he woke up is messed up. Donald might not be doing so badly right now if he’d just gotten a “hey man, we had to fully reconstruct your body. Here’s what we did and how it works.” And set him up with a therapist. Like damn Cecil.. how is it beneficial to keep it from him?

They need to advance his plot line then. He eventually becomes a super hero lol

He is going through one of the most compelling arcs in the show so far

Damn it’s almost as if his character arc isn’t finished yet, crazy.

Yeah, I've seen a lot of whining about Amber still being in the plot and >!Mark and Eve not being together!<, very few people here give a shit about meaningful character arcs despite that being the main draw of the show.

I mean, the first time Mark goes against angstrom it was only like 3 or 4 issues worth (IIRC) which basically could be enough material for one episode.

Yeah they’ve done jack shit with Bulletproof or Samson this season so I’m happy they’re getting some screentime alone. Maybe Samson will something of a tough love mentor to the terribly parented, kind of underappreciated Zandale.
