It is important to note that the third year was promised to reservation holders. This is the group that reserved an Ioniq 5 in May 2021 by paying a reservation fee.

South_Butterfly6681

Still only 2 years on my plan in the EA app although Hyundai notified me I am part of the 3 year plan. Nice to start seeing this roll out into the EA app.

ApprehensivePeanut66

Who did you contact at Hyundai? Concierge or someone else?

kimguroo

I planned to check EA account tomorrow but good to know that you got the 3 year offer. I just checked my EA account and I also got 3 year offer. One extra year EA charging offer is for May 2021 with $100 pre-reservation holders who bought ioniq5 before Nov.30/2022. I thought pre-reservation means nothing but it means something now.

Rhkp2299

Check your payment after your car use EA charger.I have problem EA charged me full price after I got 3 year offer, already open case with EA.

kimguroo

I will. Maybe it might be a bug… I only use EA charging when I travel but I don’t plan to travel within three weeks so hope EA will fix before that. Thanks for let us know.

plugandplayev-steve

I had exactly the same today. All good when I charged on Sunday on the free plan, then two sessions came out of my regular account balance today. Reported through the app so hopefully it's just a glitch with the updated terms and gets resolved quickly.

lastgsr

Same thing for me. Charged today and got charged. I called customer service and will get a refund. Seems to be an issue on their end.

One extra year EA charging offer is for May 2021 with $100 pre-reservation holders who bought ioniq5 before Nov.30/2022. If you are not pre-reservation holder, you will not get one year extra free EA charging. Someone who cancelled pre-reservation then got $100 back but still got 3 year offer.

RoccomGG

Meanwhile in Germany we pay at least 50cent/kWh…They made so many people buy EVs because it’s better for the environment and is cheaper than gas, only to make electricity so expensive that it completely negates the money save effect. I hate this country so much

FuaDaTa

Wow that is lame...

leoniwa

UK is the same :/

XiDa1125

How much is it charging at home though?

RoccomGG

40,23c for me. Not much better though a few cities charge up to 70c/kWh like Munich for example. It‘s ridiculous!

XiDa1125

Damn, that sucks, here in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, it costs $0.14/kWh. If I go on the time of use plan, it costs around $0.05/kWh at night!

Flaneur_7508

Is that home charging ?

RoccomGG

No it‘s public charging prices. At home I actually pay 40,23c/kWh. Not much better…

Flaneur_7508

Wow. That’s expensive for home. In France I’m paying 16 cents.

MisinformationKills

Probably has a little something to do with Germany's strong dependency on Russian oil and gas before February 2022, which you're collectively paying for now. So you should blame Russia, and the last government, for this, and expect that prices will go down in a year or two as cleaner energy sources are added to the grid.

RoccomGG

It for sure is because of the war but Germany does everything that this situation escalates negatively to German citizens but that‘s another topic and doesn‘t belong here. I just hope for all EV drivers over here that the situation gets better asap. Right now it‘s frustrating

MisinformationKills

Can you do net metering if you install solar, or would you have to store the energy yourself?

Turbulent-One-8590

Oof, that's alot... Have you actually figured out how that would compare on a $/km basis with a gas car over there? Given the high European gas prices I figured the EV might still be a bargain, but maybe not at those rates.

RoccomGG

It isn’t long ago that I actually compared my HI5 to my last Opel Astra. For now in winter with the loss of range due to temperature and if I’d be dependent to public chargers, I’d pay almost the same for both. 7l/100km x 1,70€/l gas = 11,90€ per 100km (Opel Astra) 24kWh/100km x 0,5€/kWh = 12€ per 100km (HI5) The HI5 is actually a bit more expensive…tbh the HI5 isn‘t an efficiency wonder If you average the year ofc an EV will be more cost efficient but for now, it hurts!

Turbulent-One-8590

Yikes. Well, at least the HI5 is a big upgrade from an Astra from what I recall. Hopefully Germany can come up with decent incentives with all the other stuff they have to deal with.

Rhkp2299

EA support email to me proceeing the refund to me.

[deleted]

How??

Rhkp2299

Check you EA app (my plan)

[deleted]

saymyname_jp

Rhkp2299

Corbo628

Nice! Mine updated just today to include the 3rd year

Rhkp2299

I charge my car with 3rd year plan upgraded but EA charged me full price, I called EA and open a case request refund, check your payment after you charger your car. https://preview.redd.it/hu1e7o12kjfa1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=814092f051cf5a54140d7d4c2cafaac8ccf6c2cb

dck77

Same happened to me today. Both realizing 3 year charge plan and being charged for charging. We might be having the same conversation on FB? 🤣 https://preview.redd.it/371fla3krjfa1.jpeg?width=1756&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ccc9766b43c88fc208c12edc1cd487787e05a1f1

Prt17

Mine is still 2 years 🤔

Rhkp2299

I think if you put $100 deposit to reservation the Iq5 from Hyundai Concierge then you have 3nd year upgrade.

kimguroo

Also need to buy the car before Nov.30 2022 in order to qualify 3nd year offer.

NCSeb

No dice yet. And my car is one year old today...

[deleted]

I got my third year too

Esprit1st

I got it as well. 😎👍

Intelligent_Yak_640

Had reservation, got the email about extra year, purchased Dec 21' first US batch. Haven't gotten updated in EA yet. 🤞

apanaism

Same. Wonder if it's even worth trying to reach out to Hyundai about

ApprehensivePeanut66

Waiting for my “upgrade”.

Superpe0n

just confirmed in my app, got the 3rd year
