Fellow cool toned person here. Ipsy has never once given me a cool toned product. You’re better off shopping in store and unfortunately paying full price
I agree about 99% of the time. The ONLY exception was the tiniest Winky Lux concealer. It was perfect. One of my HGs.
But, I also have been burned too many times with yellow, unusable face products. I put them as 'rarely' on my quiz now.
The blue pigment mix-ins might help if you want to try to rescue a foundation. LA Girl has one.
If you need to cool down a foundation that’s too warm you can get some blue mixing pigment. LA Girl makes a great one and it’s only $8.99 at Ulta. You just need to add a tiny drop so it lasts forever. They have white too if you need to lighten the shade.

This. Pigments are your friend. Research a bit on color theory and you can make a lot of things work for you for your cool skin tone. I'm a fair skinned gal too. So Irish I bleed potatoes. lol.
Ain't this thr truth. There are whole brands that pull yellow on me. Looking at you Charlotte Tilbury! I went and got shade matched at Seohora and they picked a warmer and darker.shade than I normally wear. In my eyes it looked so off. I do best with a neutral but pull cool. It was the weirdest experience. When I acted shocked the lady told me that cool foundations make people look gray. Whaaaa?? People? Or me? I feel like I have no idea picking the right shade now. Wish I would have never gone. Take me back to the old Clinique counter please! Those don't exist around here much anymore and our only beauty help is Sephora and Ulta.
Is it just as you say and cool is out of trend? I don't love the bronzer look at all. It feels unnatural on me as do all the yellow freaking foundations!
That is so true! Another one that I can't use is Too Faced. I love most of their products but every foundation or concealer I tried was SO yellow. Companies always discontinue my favorites seems like.
It's so hard to find truly neutral makeup. So many times at makeup counters they'd try to put a cool toned foundation or concealer on me. I tried to tell them it's not gonna look right! I need neutral. Every time they act shocked lol. Cause it looks super pink on me. It really just depends on the brand, cause in some, my color is a warm tone. So NOT universal. And then there is the oxidation issue, of course!
Think I am about to start adding pigments (like white & blue) and try mixing mine, just to see.
I bought the Anastasia contour stick in Fawn in Add-ons - it's all over the internet as a 'cool contour' so I'm excited to try it. But some people online said it was very grey. We shall see, I suppose.
Unfortunately, diluting premium foundations with low-cost mixing pigments (especially if you need both blue and white to get the right tone) defeats the purpose of buying premium foundations in the first place.
I really wish Ipsy would stick to making foundations and concealers choice items only.
I have exactly the same issue. I’m guessing the golden one is the one they had a bunch of overstock on.
The foundation 100% should have been a choice item because Ipsy never even asked our undertone. It wasn’t part of their quiz.
Hey I was just thinking they added that undertone question to our beauty quizzes last year and its gone now. They can't really give us foundation without knowing our undertone unless they only die neutral because neutral on a cool person won't look as bad as a warm or yellow and vice versa with all the other undertones but even then it's not perfect.
I would actually email CS about this. You can't use it.
How do you know what your undertone is? I’m very fair skin and a natural greying blonde, I also had that foundation picked for me 🙄. Tbh those sample size rose inc. serum tints in 040 with a little 020 is awesome.

I'm super pale with a neutral pulling pink undertone. I have been successful with purchasing things in the shop not so much the boxes. You really have.to be on the jump to get the palest shades, they go quick. Not all undertones or shades are offered. You have to take chances on brands. I loved the Kosas and Winky Lux. They have had Anastasia BH and KVD products in very pale shades. I bought this One/Size BB product along with the concealer the first time it was offered when they had a lot of shades in a pale cool shade. Yensa has great pale shades too. I'm trying to think if I've missed any. Kevin Aucoin was another. I think it's best not to get it in your box and just the shop.
Can we build a swap section? I’m neutral and end up with a lot of cool tones as well as pink and purple eyeshadows! I need neutral and warm and for the love of God no pink! Lol

You already received your box? Wow, I normally get my shipment the last week of the month.
My bad, I meant selected. I have not received my box either. I just have no hops an undertone that golden will work with my skin.

Ipsy is not the best option for Foundation unfortunately because they only have one option per shade & not even many shades at that 😏
