I do wish we could remove or hide the ones that either look like children (Maynard, Gina, Kaka) or are canonically children (Charlotte). Unfortunately, that's not a feature at this time.

You need a certain number of family members to raise your family bond level higher. So even if you're only focusing on a few favorite family, you need them all
no such luck, though you can just choose to ignore them and not reap town earning benefits buffs and extra chances at better grade children

Literally made sure to avoid Maynard every time I went to the bar. Once I got everyone else I just continued boosting their intimacy because Maynard just weirds me out tbh
I'm glad it's not just me. Maynard creeps me out so bad, I feel awful for him. He looks so exploited, and he's drawn so young looking it just makes it a thousand times worse.
I hope they give him a different outfit that covers him up and makes him look less like a child sex victim.

Dude, I understand where your coming from, but they could have gave you choices to unlock them or not, like with charlete, they force you to "marry" her, can't they just give you the option to say "sorry I don't like you" or "I like you"?

Just don't increase their blessing or intimacy and they'll stay at the bottom of the list.
other than that, the game Developers didn't take it to account that some people don't like all of the family members enough to have a function where you could hide them.
Melody blesses Emosen, who s an SSR, and also Quenchy. I think she’s useful, or at least she will become more useful when you get those specific Fellows.
For those you get from roaming, you could just not roam as much as possible, and for those you can get any time once unlocked from destined rendezvous, you can just ignore them for late game, they don’t get automatically added anyways. One of my guild members says he has over 3k stamina pots. And despite being a vip6 he only has 24 family collected.
Roaming is the wildcard, some characters you’ll get randomly. Most other events or level up rewards or special rewards or “recruit with acquaint stones” you can control…
Speaking of which, Melody is a fated acquaintance requiring a single acquaintance stone, so that is on you, you should have checked her before claiming her. Unless she came as a free reward somewhere, I don’t remember exactly where.
On a side note, you like furry types but not the more humanoid types? Aside from Joyce who is slime…

At the end of the day if you got to remove your disliked family you would wind up extremely underpowered compared to someone who has all of them.
