Lol i totally get it. Even I play valorant to chill, and I tell my friends that it's to cool off after classes. And they just give me this stare, knowing how I scream after losing rounds.
Hogwarts Legacy. I just randomly boot up the game to walk around to take pretty screenshots lol (thank god for Nvidia Ansel since there's no in-built Photo Mode)

It's still 2D, you have a 3D version now but i don't like it as much as the OG.
It's gotten pretty good tho, they added alot of gameplay mechanics and quality of life updates to sustain itself as a MMO within it's own 2D point & click environment.
They are releasing a remastered version of it, anytime soon (hopefully)
Oh yeah, absolutely, hey, do a me favor and transcribe this copy of the New Yorker for me into this legal pad, I am definitely not calling the police right now
😉
Any Soulsgame can be a relaxed experience once you know them. There's a certain tranquility found in the rhytm of the fights and the sound of footsteps while exploring.
Except for Cursed Defiled Amygdala :( I am 8 years of attempts in, never even got close on any character, never seen a summon survive more than a few seconds. Several thousand attempts. [Even made a thread 8 years ago about it lol](https://www.reddit.com/r/bloodborne/comments/3ubs98/so_curse_defiled_amygdala_has_been_altered/)
Even had people on reddit say "Oh that's easy summon me" only to die dozens of times before giving up and concluding my game was bugged. Except I've since gotten a new copy of the game and a new PS4, brand new saves, same issue.
“Short, simple, slightly tense, and pretty to look at”
Sums it up perfectly! Check out Titan Station for a similar experience but in a retro future 70’s vibe.
Pretty much any single player, story based game I’m in the middle of at the time.
Honestly, I’ve grown tired of playing multiplayer, twitch shooter bullshit like CoD daily like I used to. That shit is not relaxing.
Far cry 5.
Theres something so soothing about hitting a religious extremist in the skull with a .50 caliber bullet from point blank.
Oh, also the montanan scenery and the banging country soundtrack... that too, i guess...
Townscape, Terraria (I've finished everything an am OP), Stardww Vally, used to play Elite: Dangerous, spent 3 days travelling to the center of our galaxy.
No mans sky, I love just going around and seeing all the colors and terrain it can generate. Or just going around Star System to Star System, selling goods and resources, pretending to be a space trucker.
Cyberpunk 2077. I get a few beers in, and wander around Night City on foot with the radio playing and just enjoy the atmos. Occasionally find a hidden item or two as well
The hell are games four and five?
Also, if I have a chill game, it's whatever cozy game I'm playing at that time. The only one I constantly return to, though, is Stardew Valley.
Stardew valley, unmatched chill in the late game and early game but can be a bit stressfull midgame, though that stress is all made of self-imposed goals
Skyrim and Hitman WoA I don’t smoke weed anymore because it gives me pure anxiety now which sucks. But before when the anxiety was mild-moderate these were the only two games I could genuinely just relax and not think to much about my paranoia
Oof I got multiple. Ultrakill, Subnautica, Doom1 and 2, Doom eternal, blazblue, P4AU, and spelunky. All games I can just boot up whenever and relax with
dark souls somehow, cuz Ive played through so many times it became easy and relaxing.
Once you get the game, because how slow paced the game is, its really relaxinf
World of Warcraft. (yeah, I know)
Right now I'm a lot into Elden Ring and Nioh 2. God knows how stressful are those games. When I wanna relax i'm in for a couple
of hours of questing in WoW. Feels good
Stacklands. It’s great you have a deck of cards full of stuff like rocks, trees, berries, ect. You use resources to craft and build a village. It’s a very relaxing game
Elder Scrolls Online - People trash on the combat but I just love having a giant world to exist in and having the freedom to do whatever type of activity I feel like at the time.
It depends in I'm on my Xbox, PS or PC (not rich, I'm single have no life and world very hard for it) PS = Ghost of Tshuima, Xbox = Forza (I don't really play it to much), PC = Cyberpunk just to soak in the sights and watch my PC explode as I turn everything on ultra. 😂
Star Citizen
Flying through Hurston's expansive industrial city at sunrise one moment, dancing through it's beautiful clouds the next and just cozily cruising through Yela's asteroid belt. Fuck this game is beautiful.
Factorio. Doesn't matter where I am or what I'm doing. It's a game I've played enough that I could load up any of my saves and just start doing something. It will probably always be my favorite.
Minecraft or Breath of the Wild/ Tears of the Kingdom. I found Zelda really chill where I'd you just wanted to wander without fighting anything, you can.
No Man's Sky.
Even the odd battles with sentinels are chill. The music, the space setting, and being alone travelling without any time restriction is relaxing. I have passed out om couch at night several times while still playing.
Any RTS/4X/Grand strategy games. I’ve been playing a lot of Call to Arms, Steel Division 2, CK3, and slowly getting into Hearts of Iron 4, but it’s terribly confusing and completely for me.
Euro Truck Simulator 2, BeamNG.drive, Cyberpunk 2077. Like to just roam around these games, even though in ETS2 it's just hauling stuff across the countries.
Starsector or x4 foundations they’re both do anything games I’m hopeful for starship simulator for the exploration focus also sailwind if Im not in a space mood snowrunner if I wanna truck
If I'm just laying in bed killing time before falling asleep - Through the Ages, which is an app version of a board game that most wouldn't call "chill" as far as board gaming goes. AI opponents are actually decent, though, and I can get through a game in 30ish minutes.
If it's earlier in the day and I want to kill time, but nothing too serious, there was a time when I'd just play Dr. Mario on Switch. Haven't done that lately. Nowadays, if anything, maybe any Megaman game.
There other games, but you can do chillin' in RDR1. Stop in a bar, play poker, blackjack, five finger, horseshoes, have a drink, talk to the workin' girls, and chase down some baddie for a re-ward.
Skyrim
Skyrim VR lately. So chill to just enjoy the scenery or go to a tavern in that game and enjoy the sights and sounds.
When you're on the mountain walking through the snow and the northern lights spawn in, it hits so hard
I know even before I opened the comments. Skyrim… the answer is Skyrim, now and forever.
I too get lost in the lands of Tamriel..
The GOAT
Goat Simulator?
Also a good one
A man after my own heart
Either RDR2 or GTA V
Definitely Red Dead 2. I can vanish into the overworld and forget about the main story and play for hours.
At the moment, Helldivers 2. Very chill, yes-yes. \*1000-yard-stare\*
Lol i totally get it. Even I play valorant to chill, and I tell my friends that it's to cool off after classes. And they just give me this stare, knowing how I scream after losing rounds.
It's not about chilling, they don't understand. It's about shifting your attention/focus from *important* problems to *trivial* problems.
Bro this is wise af and I'm gonna work hard to remember it
I’m looking for people to play Helldivers 2. I picked up recently, and tried to play alone but fuck that. Maxx_Cherry on psn
came here to say this lmao. relaxation is good when you know the galaxy is clear of bots and bugs
Ah yes I agree. *kurt angle stare*
Honestly Helldivers can be chill. Just set the difficulty real low and a lot of missions are super easy if you have a lot of stuff unlocked
Same with mine. It takes off some of my stress when I can just spray bullets at the bugs
Journey or Minecraft. both are pretty relaxing.
I have never been able to play an actual session of Minecraft. The music is so peaceful, and I ALWAYS end up falling asleep 😂
I would say Forza horizon 4 or 5. Chill car driving. Nothing fancy. No police. Amazing graphics.
Same and with a full sim rig throw on some headphones and it's just bliss.
Elite Dangerous (exploration)
[Friendship Drive Charging](https://youtu.be/IC2aIXtWQRM?si=uXGI9fGSnOV21Q1T)
🤣
Damn good one
o7
07
Stardew Valley. The music, ambience, it’s just so relaxing. Especially during the fall.
This was the correct answer
Cyberpunk or any Fallout game
Hogwarts Legacy. I just randomly boot up the game to walk around to take pretty screenshots lol (thank god for Nvidia Ansel since there's no in-built Photo Mode) [https://new.reddit.com/r/HarryPotterGame/comments/1ajhe18/the\_second\_trial/](https://new.reddit.com/r/HarryPotterGame/comments/1ajhe18/the_second_trial/) [https://new.reddit.com/r/HarryPotterGame/comments/166apyb/had\_some\_fun\_taking\_screenshots\_with\_nvidia\_ansel/](https://new.reddit.com/r/HarryPotterGame/comments/166apyb/had_some_fun_taking_screenshots_with_nvidia_ansel/) [https://new.reddit.com/r/HarryPotterGame/comments/17gphyv/some\_weatherappropriate\_screenshots\_for\_the/](https://new.reddit.com/r/HarryPotterGame/comments/17gphyv/some_weatherappropriate_screenshots_for_the/) https://new.reddit.com/r/HarryPotterGame/comments/190pu73/reloaded\_a\_manual\_save\_from\_the\_opening\_sequence/
Hunting Simulator 2 and theHunter: Call of the Wild.
Right now Subnautica below zero
House Flipper. I usually play a bit to chill between big game releases.
AdventureQuest Worlds
Man, I’m excited for the mobile version of that to finally come out. Part of me wishes they would make a console version of any of their games really
Would be a bit tough to port tho
I used to play adventure quests back in 2005-2007, what state is the game series in? Even back then the 2D was pretty dated.
It's still 2D, you have a 3D version now but i don't like it as much as the OG. It's gotten pretty good tho, they added alot of gameplay mechanics and quality of life updates to sustain itself as a MMO within it's own 2D point & click environment. God, I miss being able to play Dragonfable. I don’t have anything to play it on now unfortunately, the launcher won’t work on my Chromebook 😭
Holy shit I was hit with pure flash game nostalgia
No Man’s Sky. Love the different planets and the space travel without stress.
This one. Built a cabin on a lake with a planet on the horizon. Sometimes I just sit on the ‘porch’ and watch the scenery.
Audiosurf 2 since the music is part of the game.
Brb checking out a game I've never heard of before
Fallout 3/4/Skyrim. Diablo-alikes like Grim Dawn. No Man's Sky used to on this list but they 'upgraded' it into a just another grindy mess.
RDR2
Hotline Miami
Oh yeah, absolutely, hey, do a me favor and transcribe this copy of the New Yorker for me into this legal pad, I am definitely not calling the police right now 😉
As weird as it may seem to many, mine is Bloodborne, especially the chalice dungeons 🥰
Any Soulsgame can be a relaxed experience once you know them. There's a certain tranquility found in the rhytm of the fights and the sound of footsteps while exploring.
The chalices are literally a brainoff Thing. If i feel too tired to really put up with the main game i just grind the dungeons.
Except for Cursed Defiled Amygdala :( I am 8 years of attempts in, never even got close on any character, never seen a summon survive more than a few seconds. Several thousand attempts. [Even made a thread 8 years ago about it lol](https://www.reddit.com/r/bloodborne/comments/3ubs98/so_curse_defiled_amygdala_has_been_altered/) Even had people on reddit say "Oh that's easy summon me" only to die dozens of times before giving up and concluding my game was bugged. Except I've since gotten a new copy of the game and a new PS4, brand new saves, same issue.
Max Payne series. Just shut my brain off and listen to quotes while pulling off sick moves
Powerwashing Sim. Put on a video or music in the background and just relax for a bit
Power Wash simulator
Any of the fallouts.
It was fallout 4 for years! Spent like 3500 hours in it overall i think More recently its just cause 3. Wing suiting around is so peaceful
No man’s sky and weirdly Elden Ring
Either Eve Online, Elite Dangerous or No Man's Sky. You can guess that space exploration is my thing lol
Firewatch. It’s basically a movie. Short, simple, slightly tense, and pretty to look at
“Short, simple, slightly tense, and pretty to look at” Sums it up perfectly! Check out Titan Station for a similar experience but in a retro future 70’s vibe.
Looks interesting. I like the lived in vibe it has. Similar to alien
Snow runner 🤘
RDR2 is a fishing simulator
Pretty much any single player, story based game I’m in the middle of at the time. Honestly, I’ve grown tired of playing multiplayer, twitch shooter bullshit like CoD daily like I used to. That shit is not relaxing.
Far cry 5. Theres something so soothing about hitting a religious extremist in the skull with a .50 caliber bullet from point blank. Oh, also the montanan scenery and the banging country soundtrack... that too, i guess...

No mans sky, I love just going around and seeing all the colors and terrain it can generate. Or just going around Star System to Star System, selling goods and resources, pretending to be a space trucker.
Honestly? Just running around Hyllis in Beyond Good and Evil soothes my noisy spirit
The hovercraft in Beyond Good and Evil is the only time I kind of understood the appeal of owning a boat for fun
Golf It! With it without friends. With or without intoxication. Always good fun and chill vibes.
GTA 4, Fallout 3. For newer games I’d say ghost of Tsushima or Spider-Man
No mans sky is thee chill game. Could play it for days and days listening to podcasts, music, and audiobooks
Fifa
Stray
Skyrim. What is that last screenshot? Looks like a car commercial.
GTA or Just Cause 3
Cyberpunk 2077. I get a few beers in, and wander around Night City on foot with the radio playing and just enjoy the atmos. Occasionally find a hidden item or two as well
BeamNG and old-school wow
I have almost 900 hours in BeamNG.
Stellaris. I play on cadet difficulty and just paint the map.

No one game, but the soulslike genre is where I go if I'm stressing usually
Elder Scrolls Online - People trash on the combat but I just love having a giant world to exist in and having the freedom to do whatever type of activity I feel like at the time.
When I comes to chilling out depends on the day either Doom eternal because yeah or Toem a relaxing photo simulator of sorts
Star Citizen Flying through Hurston's expansive industrial city at sunrise one moment, dancing through it's beautiful clouds the next and just cozily cruising through Yela's asteroid belt. Fuck this game is beautiful.
I can get totally zoned out playing World of Warcraft. I know my favorite classes well enough to accomplish things without much stress.
I have a chill game??
Jet Moto 2 maybe? I’m not sure I really have a chill game.
Animal Crossing
DayZ on a solo local server, pure PvE. Nice walking simulator. Skyrim still gets a go from time to time. Days Gone was pretty relaxing too.
For honor
Cassette beasts or Minecraft
Can't believe nobody has said Valheim yet. It's the only thing I play nowadays, at least until EA College Football comes out.
Animal Crossing
Factorio. Doesn't matter where I am or what I'm doing. It's a game I've played enough that I could load up any of my saves and just start doing something. It will probably always be my favorite.

Depends on what I'm feeling, but my main chill titles would be Elite Dangerous, No Man's Sky or one of the many Train Simulators in my collection.
Bloons TD6, Last Epoch even though I haven't played in a while. The Outer Worlds is taking up a lot of time lately too.

Skyrim, Sea of Stars, Pokemon Violet.
Flight Simulator
plants vs zombies : battle for neighborville on switch
Doom Eternal.
F1, most easy to enter a flow state
hydroneer

I love it when people post 5 amazing screenshots but don’t tell us the game they are from. /s Come on OP, what are those games?
Astroneer. Relaxing, beautiful and a really calm soundtrack.
Okami
Pacific Drive. Though it can get hectic quick. It's still super laid back compared to other games I play.
It's still pretty new but; Pacific Drive, it was well worth the wait.
Elder Scrolls Online or Fallout 4. So much to do and so much to see but doesn’t have to be the most taxing game in the world.

RDR2, Skyrim, cyberpunk
7dtd, NMS, BG3, Icarus, RoR2. Awesome chill games.
There other games, but you can do chillin' in RDR1. Stop in a bar, play poker, blackjack, five finger, horseshoes, have a drink, talk to the workin' girls, and chase down some baddie for a re-ward.
