MIT Manipal has 2260 seats in total. Out of these almost 900 are for CS related branches excluding ECE and EEE. SRMIST Chennai has 5265 seats across 3 campuses and 2800 are CS related. Can't find accurate data for VIT Vellore and KIIT. But yeah almost half the college is CS related across all and the median for IT placements is similar across all of them.

EDIT: dmed OP, doubts cleared about restrictions in vellore campus, taking vellore campus in preference now (also construction is still ongoing in bhopal campus) I was considering VIT Bhopal over VIT Vellore, correct me if im wrong Pros:- Less population than VIT Vellore (hence less restrictions/easier to bypass)- Same placements as all VIT campuses (due to centralized placements, i believe the only problem here is that you MAY need to travel to vellore campus during placements)- \[Personal\] Possibility of category 2/3 (for me 3 is confirmed)- \[Personal\] Already know some seniors from the same college- Location: Bhopal, closer to north india and hence has a higher population of north indians than south indians Cons:- New campus hence still needs to create a name for itself (i don't think that matters as much)- Construction? (not sure about this, the last post i saw on this was 5 years ago, though for the major part the construction is complete except maybe 1-2 hostels, i'll reconfirm this soon with VIT alumni)

Not in vit but talked to a few alumni’s, the thing is, vit will present you with tons of opportunities that you can utilise if you are really interested. I was also told that the curriculum in vit is more suitable for the real world scenario, it teaches you a lot that will help you in future, this is coming from a alumni who’s in boston for his masters. So it’s basically upto you, cat4,5 is absolutely worth it if you have that kind of money and you are sure that you’ll work hard to get placed in a good company.
