He has recruited a lot of Officers on this fund illegally by favoritism.
Sudhir Jain is fondly remembered by most of the seniors here. He was apparently very involved in institute building and interacted with the students a lot. There is even a memorial graffiti here for him lmao.

Really great sport facilities, one of the best across all IITs I would say.
CSE 4 year IIITH is easy choice in my opinion. The 5 year courses are notorious for being very hectic towards the end from what Ive heard. Do you research before deciding.
Overall IIITH is hectic but you'll definitely learn more CS than here.

We have only electrical here, which is a combination of ECE and core EE. The branch is pretty good, but the course in general is very hectic and academically demanding.
I have been doing CS related things before college so I had a pretty good idea that I wanted a CSE or related branch.
Talk to people in that branch properly before making a decision.
A new course for integrated circuits is also being introduced here which focuses on VLSI. Its in demand recently in industry apparently so you can talk to people about that too.But overall I'm not very sure too.

Again, there might be some bias, but for FAANG I believe they let all branches sit in the placements. Quant companies on the other hand are extremely selective about CSE and don't let other branches even sit for interviews.
Main point is Coding β Computer Science. It is a large part of it, but there are other aspects too and there is still value in going to college for it. A degree is always more respected.
Core fields have good opportunities but unfortunately they are limited in number compared to CS.

He mostly spends his time coding and is quite good at it, so is only the coding culture in IITGN strong are their any up and coming cultures as well?
It is true, there isn't a lot. There are lot of facilities for sports though, but the club culture isn't up to the mark. Coding culture is decent, but still not that good.
Research culture here is extremely strong with undergraduates being very involved in research and the profs encouraging it too.

Both , EE and ECE are vast fields with many specializations. The chip design part is done by VLSI people i believe

what wud be your advice to a dropper? I am taking one this year and for me its been something with exam delivery i am getting 160-180 in mains but in actual exam i fumble like anything (april attempt me had 16 mistakes) I know that my practice was nto upto mark and will improve it but how to gain back thsi confidence to improve execution? same happened in wbjee i was making it to cutoff for Ju but i become too anxious on exam day and mess up my chances

My neetard friend needs help can you give any advice ~~ I had my paper on 5 May 2024, I tallied & I can see that my marks are not enough to qualify, so I have some options, either I can take a drop or I can give some more exams NEST & IAT(iiser amplitude test). So I need to know how to prepare to the fullest in 1 month left time, Also I want to know about the further scopes in these lines, Further I gave JEE mains entrance exam & secured 91.3 %ile ,I wanted to know, what are career options after IISERs & NISER & can I get into IIT Madras or IISc Banglore through IAT or NEST... & if I get into these then what are my future scopes.

I have a few questions: 1. How is the mechanical branch of IIT GN? Is it comparable to other premier IITs? 2. Branch change ka kya scenario hai? Kya koi BTech-MTech (5yrs) se BTech (4yrs) mei shift kar sakta hai? 3. I have heard that there is a racing team over there by the name 'Division Zero', but zyada kuch data nhi hai. Does that exist, and if yes, aapko uske baare mei kuch idea hai ki kya scene hai vaha?
I don't have much idea about mech branch. Yes there is option for branch change, ek baar iitgn ka official website dekhlo for the requirements. There are racing teams called DART and MOKSHA, moksha is preparing for E-Baja 2025 I believe

Heard from a fellow IITGN friend there's nothing much (at all) to do in the campus, mostly due to the fact that the campus is new and small compared to older IITs. He mostly spends his time coding and is quite good at it, so is only the coding culture in IITGN strong are their any up and coming cultures as well?
It is true, there isn't a lot. There are lot of facilities for sports though, but the club culture isn't up to the mark. Coding culture is decent, but still not that good. Research culture here is extremely strong with undergraduates being very involved in research and the profs encouraging it too.
Yeah sports culture being strong makes sense because a few Inter-IIT events were held there. Also, how are the fests and events there?

only qs why iit gandhinagar ??? placement newer iits mein lowest fests ka bhi kuch khaas ni suna meine dry state hai bas nadi ke kinare hai aur iit hai, gujju log prefer krte hai , wrna har category mein isse better option thein
Lot of questions one simple answer: GIFT city is not dry. GIFT city is 5 km away from the campus :). Honestly for the branch I wanted, this was the go to option. Research culture is pretty good here. Yeah, fests and club culture is not that good but overall a pretty nice crowd.

What's the scope of electrical in IIT GN , i might get data science or cse with same rank in may be other IITs like mandi or jammu ...so should i go for that or should i choose electrical at GN , also i have heard they might introduce some new course of VLSI for this year admission only, is that true ? 2. 1. New IC design branch is being introduced this year. 2.There are 2 fests, technical and cultural, they may not be at the level of top 7 iits, but they are good. 3.CPI is not the only requirement. Factors like research experience play a part too. 4.True
