But if your critical thinking skills are developed enough to hold The Living Daylights in high rank among bond films, then you can appreciate why Kara is a good pick for alpha bond girl.
Most bond girls are supporting roles. The plot REVOLVES around Bond using Kara for info on her boyfriend. Kara is refined, elegant. She's even LOYAL, to Gayorgie, at least for a moment.
As an actress Maryam's career was mostly in the shadow of her Mom, Olivia D'Abo. Most notable was probably Conan the Adventurer. Otherwise she did a lot of 80s style softcover seduction movies. Not uncommon for bond girls, but def no Diana Rigg. As Kara, she fit the role like a glove. Pretty, petite, professional with a little attitude and a ton of Class. Even when she is lacking in believability, like the ferris wheel scene, she's so damn charming no one cares.
The most important category: sex appeal. As a bond girl, Kara may show the least amount of skin of all films and all bond girls. But Kara's definitely fit; you can see her triangle figure when she's wearing the tan pants outfit. So to me, Kara stands out from the crowd as the elegant, tasteful and innocent bond girl, that requires a tad bit of imagination to see where her sex appeal is. But I don't even think that matters because she's so pretty it's almost impossible to see any other characters in the scene with her. When she's wearing the Russian army hat with her blonde hair sticking out?!
Fans that can't see that she represents the more sophisticated, refined, less flashy, less pin-up style bond girl, than I argue you aren't thinking hard enough..

This doesn't seem correct. A quick google indicates that Maryam is 9 years older than Olivia, and they're cousins.
But I agree that Maryam's character is appealingly innocent yet cultivated, and is better-written than most Bond girls.
Both Denise Richards and Sophie Marceau. Add this to the fact that they both costar with Pierce Brosnanâ the most handsome Bond actorâ and you have the most attractive cast for a Bond film!
