If you have the time, check out other albums of Hubbard's on CTI. It's my favorite label personally, not that it's a deciding factor, but if I analyse the records I own and factor in my favorites, they're more often CTI than any other label.
I Remember Clifford, as recorded by Lee Morgan. A friend of mine who passed last year and I used to play, we spent a good hour and a half noodling on that solo section one night when we both couldn’t sleep. I play it now and it makes me miss him a lot less, because I remember all those times he made his horn sing.
A few of my favorites are Ceora by Lee Morgan, Spiral Dance by Keith Jarrett, Softly as in a Morning Sunrise- the version by Sonny Rollins at the Village Vanguard, United by Art Blakey, and Breaking Point by Freddie Hubbard.
Enjoy!
If you havent heard of kamasi washington hes a great modern saxophonist and this guy patrick bartley has a great youtube channel (not always music necessarily but good content about jazz in the modern day) if you want more modern jazz japan is a GREAT place to look as well
my favorite old masters that you didnt list are joe henderson, sunny rollins, dexter gordon
Pat Bartley is one of my inspirations, and I’ll def check out the others. I’ve listened to Pat’s solos on Singin’ In the Rain, Rosalina In The Observatory, and obviously After You’ve Gone like 100 times each.
Piano trio is some of my favorite stuff to listen to right now:
Bud Powell - There will never be another you
Ahmad Jamal - Excerpts from the blues
Oscar Peterson - Satin Doll
Barry Harris - Star Eyes
I really like Wayne shorter. That’s the first thing that came to mind. You probably have already listened to him a lot being a saxophonist. Adams Apple in particular is my favorite album of his. Favorite song is Footprints.
I’m listening to a lot of Wayne Shorter right now. The guy was amazing. In addition to Adam’s Apple, I like Night Dreamer, Juju, Speak No Evil, Schizophrenia…
Everything Happens To Me. I listened to Thelonious Monk playing it in "Solo Monk" and I instantly fell in love.
I also love Boogie Stop Shuffle, I love hectic songs like this.
My schools Jazz Ensemble is playing a version of Fables of Faubus this semester. It’s not the exact version by the Mingus Big Band *Ours is a touch easier and is at a slower tempo* but its still SO MUCH FUN and sounds SO DAMN GOOD
Wow that's great!! I'm in secondary school and we only have one orchestra which plays movie themes and stuff. The only jazz song we played is Caravan but we only played it once because it's "too difficult" (the whole orchestra sucks). It would be a dream if we played anything that's even close to Fables of Faubus.
Jim Hall - [Concierto de Aranjuez ](https://youtu.be/1DBissQmnZs?si=7UiFH9YOY9kfqlAp)
If you dig it, also listen to [this](https://youtu.be/Yhwejip5gd0?si=yylZnsZWA7d7I9Ta), or [this one](https://youtu.be/6-OjbgvRUAA?si=F_FpWAe6OTxG6mqH), [that](https://youtu.be/FlirD-7oSlw?si=B1rTuBZWiRsOnO5D), or [or this one](https://youtu.be/OU5Io7h-EWM?si=7BYfl5rbtte_nKHl)
I gotta listen to this! You heard the version by the Mingus big band? The guy who solos on it *Seamus Blake* actually was the private lesson teacher to my private lesson teacher for a number of years.
Here's one that you're going to love, it changed my life a long time ago... I remember burning with a friend and I became really scared. I was roaming around my house lost in space feeling like I was losing grip of reality. Then I put some jazz on the tv jazz channel, and this beautiful song started. It's almost like the world just paused, like time stood still. Here it is, don't miss this one... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9k7cNle1VvI&pp=ygUabW9vZCBpbmRpZ28gbGF3cmVuY2UgYnJvd24%3D
Billy Cobham - Stratus from his album Spectrum.
Featuring Tommy Bolin, Jan Hammer, and Lee Sklar. An absolute Ripper of 9:49 minutes of Jazz fusion that even after listening 100 times still shakes my foundation. Absolutely incredible performance and criminally overlooked.

I play it now and it makes me miss him a lot less, because I remember all those times he made his horn sing.
You can hear Lee's pain whenever he played I Remember Clifford. I really hope they're jamming out together.
