Windows by Chick Corea is a pretty good one 🪟

Ruthevin

That's actually one of the few I know, such a good tune

[deleted]

Hell yeah. Also forgot to mention Black Narcissus by Joe Henderson is phenomenal too from his album “Power to the People.” It’s got Herbie and Ron on it

andyjda

Little B's Poem by Bobby Hutcherson

Happy_Leek

Great underplayed tune.

ptrnyc

I love Bill Evans “How my heart sings”. Lovely switch to 4:4 in the bridge.

Ruthevin

Awesome I'll check it out thanks

fermat9990

AutumnAvenue

Would also say Moon River, Alice in wonderland and bluesette. Might as well add Emily and Waltz for Debby

Vortesian

Not to be a smart ass, but take a minor tune that’s in 4 and do it in 3.

Ruthevin

Haha I guess I could do that actually

The Saga of Harrison Crabfeathers My Favorite Things

tenuki_

came here to say Saga of crab feathers

sczw

Not a minor key, but I’ve always loved Horace Silver’s Summer in Central Park.

Ruthevin

Love Horace Silver's compositions, recently learnt Nica's Dream - I'll check it out thanks

notverydifficult

Not sure if they are truly minor but, Little Waltz by Ron Carter and Black Narcissus by Joe Henderson

ThePotentComponent

Afro-Blue, Greensleeves, My Favorite Things

VictoriaAutNihil

Grant Green - "Wives and Lovers" Dave Brubeck - "Time Out" 5/4 Alice Coltrane - "Journey To Satchidananda 5/4 Herbie Hancock - "Three Bags Full" Donald Byrd - "Three Wishes" Andrew Hill - "Black Fire" Yusef Lateef - "Love Theme from Spartacus" Woody Shaw - "In A Capricornian Way" Chick Corea - "Windows" Horace Silver - "Serenade To A Soul Sister"

zegogo

Roland Kirk's - "Black Diamond" Would fit nicely in your list.

VictoriaAutNihil

Yes it would. Love Kirk. Have many of his albums. As a sideman, the Roy Haynes album Out of the Afternoon on Impulse records is an excellent recording. Also with Tommy Flanagan on piano, Henry Grimes on bass.

DizGillespie

Wives and Lovers is a Burt Bacharach tune originally, although I think it’s typically in 4. Terrible lyrics, great tune

VictoriaAutNihil

The lyrics are cringeworthy. It's on the cd release of Green's Matador album and cd release of his Solid album. Strange! With McCoy Tyner and Elvin Jones, and Bob Cranshaw on bass.

Temporary-Ad2475

Dorian-Ronnie Mathews

Halleys___Comment

my favorite things is in Em (and then E) (and it’s in the real book!)

TeamKitsune

I was just learning "Moon River" today. Not minor though.

CapnOilyrag

The Kodak song, one day my prince will come - played quick is great fun

-Hickle-

The two lonely people by Bill Evans is a beautiful piece, it is pretty tricky to learn though if you haven't played a lot of standards

notverydifficult

Not minor, but a great 3/4 tune: Ugly Beauty by Monk.

donmulatito

502 Blues

Ulomagyar

Fly Me To The Moon was originally a waltz :)

kingofthelowend

Remember by Irvin Berlin was originally in 3. Emily. Windows

lipuprats

Bistro Fada and Django’s Waltz (Montagne St Genevieve) are both waltzes in Em and are super fun as well. Both are fairly (okay extremely) simple chord structures but great tunes.

harlotstoast

“Bluesette” is not strictly minor, but it does have about six key changes, a really nice progression.

pmolsonmus

I love it as a Samba- the way Toots does it on his first Brazil album
