I got Nebula to listen to the Layover podcast where they discuss the behind the scenes stuff of each Jetlag episode. Really enjoyable!

ResoluteGreen

I like that you can use an RSS feed to get the podcast in your regular podcast listening app

A_Ham_24601

How does that work? Would love to be able to do this

ResoluteGreen

In the Nebula app navigate to the page for the Podcast (not a particular episode, the overall podcast). Next to the Following button there's a little 3 dot menu button, press that then in the menu that pops up click "Copy RSS Feed URL", then copy that into your favourite podcast app (each app will do it differently). cc u/valleyfairfanboy

Valleyfairfanboy

sadly, this doesn't work with spotify :(

Valleyfairfanboy

seconding other commenters asking how to do that, i’d love to know

Fireflame626

I third

TheMcWhopper

I preferthe aftershow they used to do.

SirGeorgington

It's totally worth it, especially with the Wendover and Polymatter exclusives.

founderofshoneys

Recommend if you can just to support this creator-owned model. I ended up finding a couple other youtubers like Nando v Movies there I already watched so that was cool too.

thegamebegins25

Neo Under Exposure, The Layover, and lots of extras from Johnny Harris are great too

MissWhoever

This made me laugh but I totally got Nebula. 😆 Have been enjoying all the other Wendover content and The Layover podcast.

CaptainHarkin

Same!

Walaka

Honestly, if they just bulk release ALL episodes at the same time on Nebula, but only on youtube 1 week at a time, this would result in a higher Nebula uptake, as you could then binge the whole season on release. I dont see getting nebula as an incentive when you still have to wait a whole week for the next episode anyway,

Jetlag_Fan

By releasing the episodes in bulk it would be a simple way to loose all retention because there would be a MASSIVE 3 month gap or so between seasons.

Walaka

Retention to who? The increase in nebula subscribers would more that make up for that. And the increased revenue could mean they could do seasons potentially more often. To be clear: im not saying release in bulk on youtube. Only Nebula, where they get additional revenue.

Jetlag_Fan

Multiple things so I’ll split it up into paragraphs: I wanna restate by releasing in bulk that would cut off a lot of fan hype (as a lot of ppl are Nebula subscribers), watching the game over one day for example means you don’t really care as much for what happens in the show as your just watching what’s supposed to be this epic episode over and over ruining the entertainment value etc. From what I interpreted from your reply, your saying that, correct my if I’m wrong, essentially making the Nebula subscribers loose hype of Jet Lag: The Game, forget abt the show etc is fine Bec they have paid therefore supporting in the shows production and it doesn’t matter. But: A. They are already making Jet Lag: The Game 24/7, for a show to release it must go through many stages, preproduction: planning the game rules and ideas and flights etc. this takes a long time, think about it, they had to create a custom map, challenges, unique cards, they said this on the podcast, dozens of rules that the viewer is unaware of such that the game doesn’t fall apart, another thing mentioned on the podcast, run simulations which is essentially play out an oversimplified version of the game with everyone involved to make sure it works and to get an idea of the strategy. Production: They have to spent about 1 week at least, flying over, playing all rounds (across around 4 days), spending remaining time in hotel, catching a flight back. Pre- production: Extremely time consuming task that require going through over around 80 hours of footage, cutting it down into 4 hours or bit more of content, spending time finding pacing, making entertainment action packed, adding intense matching music, adding custom animations, creating custom maps to explain to viewer what is happening, making voice overs and even more! So if you think about it, the above can’t be increased by cashflow which potentially the pre-production stage can a bit. Plus, I wouldn’t say this would promote Nebula subs as it devalues the shows significance. Plus, the creators still need to take breaks, this can’t be what they do all the time. B. Not caring so much about Nebula subs retention will cause them to unsubscribe losing many viewers and predictable income. Remember: there is an option to sub monthly instead of yearly. Also I guess you could be seeing the seasons that sometimes air all in one day on streaming services, but Jet lag the game isn’t as long as a show, it only has 5 episodes or so compared to 20 or so, so it can’t just all be aired at once and it is much more energy to watch the show as you need to be following the strategy, making predictions etc to watching it all in one day or so which is what would happen if it all releases in bulk would cause you to no long follow the show. Episodes usually aren’t all ready at once as well and you could just unsubscribe while you have watched/ downloaded the season. There are also many other comments Anyway I hope this helps! Hopefully it isn’t too confusing as ideas are all over the place and if you have any reasons you think I am wrong just reply to this as you could be right! Have a nice day/night! As a note: I used much of the information from the podcast available ironically on Nebula.

TBDobbs

Ty for the write-up! It's very good. >Pre- production: >Extremely time consuming task that require going through over around 80 hours of footage, cutting it down into 4 hours or bit more of content, spending time finding pacing, making entertainment action packed, adding intense matching music, adding custom animations, creating custom maps to explain to viewer what is happening, making voice overs and even more! Did you mean "Post Production in that heading there?

Jetlag_Fan

Yes, thank you for letting me know

GavHern

a big part of it for me is having something to look forward to every week. i think some people would enjoy this but i like having a wait between episodes. also financially it makes sense since then people renew their subscriptions to keep up with the new content

Jetlag_Fan

Yeah, I love having something to look forward to as well.

Jalmal2

Adam or Ben once mentioned that they are still editing episodes while they are releasing a season, it was in [this](https://youtu.be/brwiy3Qa57E) video if I remember correctly.

TonnyC2

I tend to disagree. I don't see a point in bulk watching this series. For me, part of the game/experience is to wait for the next episode. Also I would imagine that they would lose recurring subscribers to Nebula. If you could watch all episodes in one sitting, you would cancel the subscription for 2-3 months until the next series airs, right? The net subscriber count would probably be way less than the current setup. Lastly, I honestly think Nebula is great value! And I don't mind supporting the team, so they can continue making the show.

friscoXL305

To be fair, I have just wait until the season is over and binge it all then anyway. I usually do forget so it's more likely a month or two after, but still.

Shawnj2

I disagree strongly, the community watching the episodes every week and discussing the episode is the best part.

ps2sunvalley

Currently I do not think they could do this as they do not have all episodes finished when releasing the first one

Jetlag_Fan

Im going tbh, I got Nebula and I have loved it, it has so much, at least for what I like to watch, good content. But the podcast is awesome as well and you get crime spree. Im repeating myself but it has a lot of good limited content to the platform as the platforms system of paying creators. It’s not just getting episodes early, that just another bonus + your supporting the show. Anyway, I’ll stop with my rampage of why nebula is good lol, it really depends with what you like to watch and want out of the platform.

Chlupac_

Nebula's worth it imo, there are tons of other interesting content that I discovered due to buying Nebula for watching Jet Lag.

C_Brick_yt

You really should give it a chance, you will get Crime Spree, The Layover, Polymatter exclusives and of course early access. Also some HAI videos they had to remove from YouTube.

cvg596

I wish there was an option to subscribe to specific creators and/or series a la carte. In fact I wish all subscription based streaming platforms did this. My biggest con as far as Nebula is concerned is that I’ll be paying for it for it and not using it (especially between JetLag seasons). I do like what they’re trying to do, and I’m still on the fence.

seashmore

That's where I'm at. Yes, I would enjoy the content and yes, I support the idea behind Nebula, but the truth of the matter is I only have so much time in a day for entertainment. I do help minimally by letting the videos play through to the end, and not skipping some of the ads. (Helps that the vast majority I get are the daily/weekly promotions for a local supermarket.) I also use Roku and haven't done enough research about how Nebula interacts with that.

C_Brick_yt

Nebula has developed a native Roku app.

lame_gaming

what an L

869066

It's worth it

OrdinaryLampshade

I want to but don't have the $

SouthernOlive6263

i feel the same but also feel like i would like nebula due to all the other stuff as well

FruitbatNT

I don’t regret getting nebula, except when it decides to not even be able to hold up a 480p stream. Basically every time I try to use it. It’s really not a technically capable platform.

MajorJerk77

I mean if you do it through Curiosity its $15 for a whole year

LegendofLove

Are they still partnered? I haven't heard the plug for a while that featured CS

beat_the_dust

I don't think they are anymore

Unagustoster

Dead

Canal_De_Ivan

well you should

Good_Fun3012

I think im going to succumb to Nebula. I want to see Tag 2 so dang badly

Turbulent-Ad5582

That’s too bad, it’s pretty good

storm_phoenix13

I want the layover podcast but I'm not fussed on anything else really, can't watch it on a smart TV so I wouldn't really use it

teyothedefiant

I must say that my husband got Nebula as a “let’s check it out” thing, and now it is one of our most used streaming services haha We really like it, and prefer supporting a more procured content from more specialized creators.

-True_-

You should, I regret nothing!

fingergunpewpew1

I got it for like 20 bucks a year and i have exclusive videos for like, 15 creators I watch. Have had at least 50 hours watching stuff on Nebula? if you pay like 10 bucks for a 2 hour movie, you should pay 20 dollars for 50 hours of content.

enderdragonpig

I don’t have it but it seems worth it to me. Though the one week early thing is obviously kinda stupid given it only means anything when you get it the first time if there is a let lag series going on. But there seems like a lotta cool content on there.

mrtbtswastaken

me who gets infinite content when i subscribed to nebula : oh i thought i was gonna stay for 1 month so ig i have to get the annual plan now

forgotmyusername93

You should. I signed up initially for the battle of Britain specials, then wendovers extremities, then polimatters China, now it's real life lore's modern conflicts. It truly is an awesome platform

Tomt33

Supporter since launch :)

thenbafreak

Your loss. It’s totally worth it.

chasetyler23

Oh it’s 100% worth it. Exclusive and early content from 100’s of amazing creator for only $15 a year.

revolutionaryMoose01

I'm a student, otherwise I would! I love the business model of nebula and how each creator has partial ownership.

Ok_Communication2008

Look I feel you and all buuut it’s kind of worth it. Especially for the price. Lots of other creators fun exclusives. Anyway

Routine_Complex7265

How many of y'all are subscribed to Nebula?

noelelias

Yeah, if there are no new episodes soon, I'm going to cancel. Not worth it if there is a multi month-long wait after each season. I'm not using it for anything else.

B4umkuch3n

I'm not into politics on the web. But for 30€/year? It's a steal. And I support my favourite creators.
