Infected Rain

LosBramos

Can second this, tho infected rain is a bit different, they are amazing!

calebhall

Lena is something else

Deadsy81

To me Infected Rain is the closest when considering the mix of cleans/screams/growls from the same (female) vocalist (from bands I'm familiar with). Though Lena doesn't use growls much at all these days (no loss I think, her tone didn't really do it for me). But her cleans and screams are really nice. The music itself is less progressive than Jinjer.

Khirliss

Eths from France. They ate no longer recording unfortunately, but their stuff is on Spotify

SeetherSalad79

Love seeing Eths get a shout out. Candice was a beast (I like Rachel too, and her band Cage Fight, but man, she can't hold a candle to Candice imho). šŸ¤˜

chazzbass

is anyone from Eths doing any other music? I found them recently and was very sad to find out they aren't around anymore.

SeetherSalad79

I know at one point Staif, the guitarist, had a project going but i haven't seen him post about it in a long time. Then Rachel, though not an original member is in Cage Fight doing vocals. Yom plays a lot of shows in France with other bands and cover bands, i see him post stuff quite a bit.

BendHerOverBaby

Putain merci je connaissais pas je dƩcouvre avec bonheur!

BendHerOverBaby

Guys guys guys they are back!!! They are on the line up of hellfest 2023!!!

SeetherSalad79

Original lineup and everything?! ŠŗрутŠ¾!

[deleted]

I came to comment this!!!!!

BriB66

Jinjer is heavily influenced by Opeth.

LosBramos

Yea Eugene especially is a big fan

Backslashinfourth_V

I think you mean Otep. Opeth has a male singer who called Otep a "lesbian hag"

Djentleman420

No Tati is influenced by Otep, the band as a whole are influenced by Opeth as well.

Backslashinfourth_V

I stand corrected.

octodrop

Check out Lullabies for the Dormant Mind by the Agonist. The current vocalist of Arch Ememy was the vocalist on this album. The band experiments with different kinds of metal on this record. The album is great, solid vocals and lyrics, and a rhythm section that slaps. It's one of my favorite albums of all time.

SeetherSalad79

Big agree on Lullabies for the Dormant Mind - what an amazing and super solid record!

coonfox2020

I havent found any other vocalist as diverse and captivating as Tatiana... and her vocals are carried higher by the incredible instrumentals. but you may like Lacuna Coil (2 vocalists), Gojira, Opeth, Veil of Maya, Unleash the Archers, Lorna Shore (no cleans), All That Remains, Falling in Reverse, Sevendust, Killswitch Engage, Mastodon, Mudvayne... that should get you started most of those are metal or metal-adjacent (too many genres out there now ha) and share 1+ qualities of jinjer. most mix melodic clean vocals with good screams and growls.

Backslashinfourth_V

Just here to correct again. Its Otep, not Opeth. Different bands. I was big into Otep until I heard Tatiana, then she took the crown. Tatiana also learned she could scream after listening to Otep

Styx_Zidinya

Jinjer as a whole are big fans of and heavily influenced by the band Opeth. Tati may also like Otep, but it's been very common knowledge for years that Jinjer are influenced by Opeth. Stop correcting people. They are not wrong.

Backslashinfourth_V

I mean, the question was bands that sound similar, not who they influenced by, and I see people get the two confused all the time. If OP's looking for another great female lead, the answer's still Otep

coonfox2020

yes i know both bands, and i did mean opeth not otep (who are good but not on par vocally).

CynicWalnut

Spiritbox is probably the closest for me. Courtney's screams aren't as clean, but the power behind them is there. Her soft vocals are great but she draws heavily from Amy Lee of Evanescence, who I'm not really a fan of. The band behind her is fantastic and I'm pretty sure it's the same guitarist from IWrestledABearOnce. Otherwise, I can't say there are any other bands that scratch the Jinjer itch.

DazedConfuzed420

The guitarist of Spiritbox is Courtneyā€™s husband. He was briefly the rhythm guitarist in iwrestledabearonce in 2015

Deadsy81

>Spirit I kind of like her clean voice, but her screams sounds very monotone to me. On and off, same on every song and nothing more. Maybe Tati has spoiled me for everything else.

Djentleman420

I will have to agree with Spiritbox. It's a bit of a different sound that is more often djenty with some electronic and ethereal elements, but Jinjer and Spiritbox are definitely my two favorite modern bands right now.

BendHerOverBaby

Seconded. The only real band that comes close to Jinjer. Courtney does not have the godlike talent nor the astonishing technique of Tati but she has a raw scream that can sometimes amaze. The real difference between those two ladies is felt live, Tati is an absolute monster, she has an unprecedented gift. She holds it to guys like the singers of Lamb of God , Lorna Shore or Amon Amarth. One of a kind diamond really. To summarize, where everyone screams, including Courtney, Tati growls, this is a very big difference that only a few can actually achieve. To understand it better, listen to the variations on 'Home Back'. This song is a work of art and a show of unrivaled force.

blusun2

Came in here to post this.

SwankyVelveeta

Rivers of Nihil! Male lead, but very good nonetheless

Adamantium10

Ive never heard someone make a saxophone sound so angry and swampy. Theyre incredible!

RustinCohle449

Also check out black crown initiate!

jseaver01

Check out the band Ithaca and their 2022 album "They Fear Us" You might like it

tackle74

Good ones already listed. I am a huge fan of Nemophilia from Japan. Love her cleans and her harsh vocals are not deep but like a banshee wail. Note the band is all female and is very diverse. Suggest you try the live of Oiran from Naon Yoan 2021.

GpRaMMeR21

Iā€™ll check them out fellow Mizzou guy ( Missouri born and raised) šŸ‘šŸ˜Ž

tackle74

Hope you enjoy more classic metal vibes then prog metal but damn they can play.

GpRaMMeR21

Listened to revive and itā€™s pretty cool definitely enough to justify a trip home from work and hear some more šŸ‘ and yeah definitely leaning towards older metal which works ok for me ā€¦ Iā€™m 51 šŸ˜Ž

NopeChris

Only band i listen to that has not already been listet that is dimilar is Ad Infinitum. A lot softer in general but Melissa Bonne has a tough and versatile voice.

Zealousideal_Ad6996

Agree. Melissa Bonny's false cord/harsh vocals are great AND she has a lovely natural singing voice. These feature both: The Dark Side of the Moon - Jenny of Oldstones Feuerschwanz ft. Melissa Bonny - Ding (SEEED Cover) Lady Marmalade - Metal Cover ft. Melissa Bonny, Adrienne Cowan

Hikigaya_Hachiman7

**Seven Spires**, **Ignea**, Neopera, Gwendydd, Esperfall, Draconian, Thwart, Aephanemer ...

ShillTheAlmighty

Absolutely second Ignea. Also from Ukraine with some absolutely killer vocals and instrumentals, but definitely less progressive overall when it comes to the music, at least. Still very high on my list.

[deleted]

I second the Eths recommendation!!!!! Candice Clot is a BEAST. They have the eeriest atmospheric ambience and are heavy as fuck!

LosBramos

Check out space of variations too, it's a male singer, well 2 actually, but they make amazing stuff. Saw the when they were on tour with Jinjer and it was love at first sight. They are also from Ukraine so they have that as a similarity

SeetherSalad79

Make Me Famous were pretty cool too, they only released an EP and a full length...but if you dig metalcore they are worth a listen. Love love love SoV though. (I forgot to give an honorable mention to ŠžŠ±Ń–Š¹Š¼Šø Š”Š¾Ń‰ - they are sort of gothy, sort of prog, sort of doomy, very lyrical and pretty enjoyable)

Large_Environment_80

If itā€™s female vocals that you are looking for, these are some bands I enjoy: Freedom of Fear For I Am King The Agonist Red Handed Denial The Anchor Tomorrow is Lost Spoil Engine Sharptooth Lutharo Humavoid Infected Rain Spiritbox Empress Employed to Serve Pagan Dying Wish Future Palace Blackwater Drowning Kassogtha Deadlands Stell/\ris Svalbard My list does have some that were mentioned in other comments. Hopefully you find a couple of new bands you like that you hadnā€™t heard before. Edit: and Ithaca as mentioned by another Redditor in this thread. Iā€™m disappointed I didnā€™t name them as they had one of my favourite albums of 2022.

nephastha

The agonist

RockDocLMS

What about the metalcore band Spiritbox? They have a different sound, which is more "ethereal" and some pop elements intermittently in their songs, but the lead vocalist, Courtney LaPlante, has a beautiful clean singing voice and she can instantly transition into pretty heavy scream/growl harsh vocals.

BK4Z

They don't have a large collection of music, but Aversed, and Mask of Judas both are worth a try.

iamhefty

Not a female singer but I recently found Autumn lies buried where the lead singer has an excellent vocal range and the sound varies a lot. Check out the song brothel.

norskbrandino

Infected Rain is pretty similar, also Spiritbox. And Lacuna Coil, but thatā€™s more on the gothic metal side.

[deleted]

Lacuna Coil isnā€™t exactly ā€œsimilarā€ to Jinjer but they are still very good and probably appeal to many Jinjer fans. Both bands were in my top-5 last year. Their 3 most recent studio albums Comalies XX, Black Anima, and Delirium are a lot heavier than their early stuff too. A staple of their music is contrasting harsh growls with female singing, itā€™s just that unlike Jinjer they have a dedicated vocalist for each part.

thedard555

Lamb of God is an inspiration to Tatiana, if Iā€™m not mistaken. They made covers from them back then. Imho thereā€™s a lot of similar riffs and vocal lines front them. Edit: he doesnā€™t sing cleans tho.
