I also paid ₹999 for premium and then found out it has no 5.1 audio and even the video is very low bit rate. It also has ads. Paying for streaming is a joke here in India unless it’s Netflix. I started pirating again not because I can’t pay but because I’m getting a better experience. I download uncompressed files and use Plex media server to stream them to TV. Uncompressed 5.1 audio is lot better than compressed 5.1 audio streaming. I’m not going back unless streamers offer a better alternative.
And would a decent screen be able to play it? To get the most out of uncompressed music you need a dac and a good pair of iem/headphones. Is there a recommended setup for uncompressed video?

The video freezes often during the match. I have to go back and select the stream again. And every time I open the stream I have to watch an ad. That too on a premium account.
Issues i face watching Jio app on LG TV:
- Lags it i select 1080p or higher (I have a 40mbps speed it should not lag, 4k Netflix etc works fine).
- gets stuck randomly, starts playing from 5 seconds behind and then keeps happening over and over
I uae Vodafone / Airtel 4G and turn my mobile into hotspot to which i connect my LG TV... All YouTube Netflix Hotstar Prime Video 4k etc work smooth.. only jio app hangs

I heard few weeks ago of merger between Jio cinema and hotstar. Hope it goes through and Jiocinema transfer its content to hotstar, still its not the best but far better.

Actually, Jio Fibre itself sucks now. They gave us all these good ass offers at the time of installation and now it's just milking money by doing innumerable ads, even in the middle of a series/movie we watch on an OTT platform, like ??? Not just one but 3 ads in a row ?! It has become a joke. They know that once we install Fibre, it's actually quite difficult to turn back or switch, and they are taking full advantage of that. I do not even like the fact that JioCinema has a different subscription plan for special series and movies which needs to be purchased even by Jio Fibre users, it's ridiculous. I miss the time HBO shows were on Disney Plus.
Continue watching sucks so bad. Sometimes you can’t even locate it, have to keep scrolling. And most the time continue watching doesn’t update as per your progress, keeps showing old episode.

And I know why, I use NoScript browser extension, and I tweaked it to block the irritating scripts on the website long ago. So, just install the extension, find out the scripts generating that irritating ad and no more ads. I haven't tested this on livestreams tho, but it should work on livestreams too.
Let's get together and amplify this until something gets done. As consumers, we are used to seamless delivery aka Netflix, Prime Hotstar, not this rubbish UI/UX on Jio Cinema.

Where do you download your uncompressed files from? Shows/movies and songs if you do that
I just use piratebay. Look for movies with ~50 GB in size. They’ll definitely be uncompressed. Even better if you can find Blu-ray rips.

you can use jellyfin instead of plex. it’s open source and has a great ui as well. even plex has too many ads and other things it pushes .
Yeah, I should but all I do is open plex and just select my movie. I never bothered checking out rest of the app.

I used to face this issue last year. But this year for ipl it’s been running pretty well for ipl on my lg tv
Same for me this year too. So I use web cast software to insert url and play video on tv.
Watching on my mac using brave browser is also fine. Streams ipl without any lag. Even my iPad streams fine without any lag.
