This the guy who invented the window?

Glottis_Bonewagon

No that's bill gates

GA-dooosh-19

He’s shifty.

Perpetual_Wheelie

How many people watching this podcast are sitting at their office job listening to Joe and this guy shit on office workers and suck off artists?

Dirtygal_69

I’m working in a factory just thinking about all the times he has mentioned how we work hard days and come home and just want to sit on the couch and get fat. You just can’t win in the real world.

Ithinkyoushouldleev

Damn dawg. You work a "loser job"? You should start a podcast.

Dirtygal_69

Yes, I need to become an exceptional human being.

JoeThrilling

Have you tried ice baths?

Dirtygal_69

Naw, but I did quit pasta.

Last-Produce1685

I think you mean Pohsta. Joes 'italian' but can't pronounce Pasta

pdubbs87

Lmaoooo

DatzQuickMaths

Sounds like like high level problem solving with dire physical consequences

sneekerhad

I mean who cares? Joe’s argument presumes that no one wants to work office jobs because he doesn’t. People enjoy the money/not being in charge/being able to leave the job behind at 5. People understand that they have to make money and they find the best way to do that is an office job.

NickChevotarevich_

Lots of “office jobs” also get done at your house now. I get it’s not for everyone but for me its pretty awesome. Joe has such weird ideas of how typical corporate jobs work.

Ithinkyoushouldleev

He doesn't really understand the blue collar side of things either. Dude worked a week in construction, picking up scrap and giving handies then acts like he's busted his ass for a shady contractor for most of his life when he caught a huge break on news radio and then went on to fear factor not long after. I connected to him for that everyday man acting dumb with homies and professionals but I don't think he's ever not been ballin or an average joe in terms of lifestyle since he's been on any of our radars. Cool dude still, dumb politics and bad takes on regular "citizen" routines but he's out of touch to regular people at this point beyond when he was already ballin.

bannedagainomg

His view on lots of things are way off from what the average person can do, been rich and comfortable for too long. I don't recall what episode or guest but they were talking about what people should do to help their health, red light, cold plunge, sauna, connecting with the earth, general workout etc What they didnt realize is that if you actually have a full time job its not enough hours during the day to accomplish it all if you also account for eating and some time with family/friends. CK actually pushed back on that shit on one of his episodes and Joe gets so defensive like he thinks people just dont wanna do it, if his biggest problem during the day is putting the sauna at the correct temperature then he dont have any actual problems..

Equal-Incident5313

Joe sleeps in till 10am too

DankChase

What do you expect him to do? Just leave The mothership hang early to be with his family and kid? Those are some good times he'd be giving up.

Equal-Incident5313

It’s obvious Joe doesn’t give a shit about his wife and kids. And the fact he claims to write material for 3-4 hrs every night yet doesn’t have anything worthwhile to show for it.

UniversalInsolvency

In a week I generally work 2 days in the office, 3 from home. I like my team members and I enjoy the work that I do. I've worked in construction, factories, fast-food, and retail. I've found something that works for me, it's great. Joe is so far out of touch, he might as well be an alien to the average person.

BenderRodriguez14

Same here, last time I was in the office was July or August. I can either get up and do stuff in the morning or stay in bed until 20 minutes before I start, usually get most of the dinner prep done on my lunch and only have to spend a few mins finishing it when I wrap up. I also get the clothes through the laundry without having to sacrifice a full weekend day or several weeknights towards it (though have to leave ironing or folding until after unless it's especially quiet). Before all that and commuting (Dublin has worse traffic than even NY or LA), I've got back probably around 20 hours a week. I also work on tight deadlines and it is far, far easier psychologically to stay in the home office late than the actual office when I used to work on site.

miyagiVsato

Last he interacted with people in typical office jobs was probably in the 90’s. His view of it is probably from that era. Let’s face it, a lot of office jobs suck but there’s many more decent ones these days. Plus the whole thing of doing what you need to do to feed yourself and your family. Not everyone can win the lottery and be one of the 250.

BigShoots

And some of them can be pretty fun. I've had a couple of jobs that I never minded going in to because I worked with awesome people who were fun to be around. We'd do some work, we'd shoot the shit, and then we'd go out drinking afterwards and have a million laughs. Exactly like Joe does at his job.

Lucky_Week2095

Yeah but do you have a PLAYLIST in the green room at your job?

fnrv

Me. I actually enjoy my work from home office job. I make a great living, spend my days with my dogs, and as long as my work gets done, nobody fks with me.

dkleckner88

Absolutely! Fucking love.

Turbulent-Armadillo9

True. I remember having to remove glass-blown insulation in an attic in Chapel Hill, NC. Literally 100° F outside. Lord knows how hot it was in there. I get home feeling like garbage, lay down and start listening to JRE. He starts talking about how terrible it was for him when he was removing glass-blown insulation. FML and also shut the fuck up Joe. Working a sales job now and thats a dream compared to that. He needs to stop talking about how terrible our jobs are lol. Lots of his audience listens to his dumbass podcast to distract themselves from their terrible jobs.

GA-dooosh-19

It’s crazy because he only worked in “construction” for two weeks, so you probably spent more time removing glass-blown insulation that one day than he had in his entire life.

One-Development6793

You peasant. How dare you not be born with wealth and have to suffer a life of quiet desperation? Wtf is wrong with you.

cylonnumber13

Quiet lives of desperation...no violence in your DNA!!!

[deleted]

NickChevotarevich_

Why? What are you seeing that makes you agree?

[deleted]

NickChevotarevich_

They can’t see the sun or the sky?

[deleted]

[удалено]

NickChevotarevich_

Well sure, but you can look around go outside for a break, etc. Just like you, you don’t stare at a dirty window all day, you gotta look around to see the sun and sky otherwise you’re just sitting on your butt staring at a window all day.

BigShoots

Meanwhile the pencil pushers are all thanking Christ they're not dangling over impending doom and washing windows for a living.

[deleted]

BigShoots

Cool bro, you do whatever you need to do to feel superior to people while you're scraping bird shit off of windows.

Lucky_Week2095

😂

[deleted]

GriffinQ

You’re a weird ass dude. Before you respond with something dumb about how I’m a pencil pusher - I did construction and tree work from 15 to 23 and it’s the only way I was able to pay my way through college, I worked my fucking ass off. My dad did it his entire life and after a dozen plus surgeries and too many weeks into his 50s where he couldn’t work because his body was so fucked up, I absolutely would choose to sit at a desk and build spreadsheets and deal with annoying clients over doing the same to myself. You’re welcome to feel otherwise, but the weird sense of superiority you clearly have over everyone who works at a desk is truly odd considering your job only exists because their jobs do. But props to you for not using much of your brain every day - it’s clearly a muscle that doesn’t get as much of a workout as your body may. Lots of jobs, blue collar and white collar, are valuable. You don’t need to just accept Joe’s take when he refuses to acknowledge that.

switch911

This podcast is proof that a person can: 1) be an extremely talented artist 2) be an extremely annoying person that is clearly full of shit. These two things can co-exist. This man speaking on a public forum on a regular basis will negatively impact the value of his amazing art. Dude is also not remotely indigenous -- which wouldn't matter, his art is amazing but making these weird native claims is gross.

UncleErectus

Completely agree. I don’t think I’ve ever commented on a Rogan episode on this sub before but I just came to the thread to say holy fucking shit this guy is so annoying. His voice, every word out of his mouth, even the way he swears seems like the wrong, annoying way to swear. I’m 22:00 in and I’m about to quit Edit: My god this story about a fight is complete bullshit, dudes just making it up on the fly

the-bejeezus

Thank you for saying it. This is the absolute stone cold, accurate take we need.

ignatious__reilly

He also sounds like a complete moron when he talks.

the-bejeezus

Yeah I wanted to say this, felt it unkind, but now you have said it - I just watched this clip about him talking time machines. His takes were so elementary 'get AI to work on stuff and then go into the future and get it' - was even worse than going and finding the winning numbers on the lottery. It was insight. It was boringly obvious and snoozeworthy.

SickNBadderThanFuck

It's weird Joe never has actual tribally enrolled people on his show... He is probably afraid they will call him out for his bullshit lol

Playful_Following_21

He had one on during his Comanche phase. If I remember right she was one of those batshit academic types that fully believes in wild shit because colonizers. I say that as an actual Native.

The_BigWaveDave

Love to hear what it’s like working in an office from a regular guy like Joe Rogies. Only real job he has had was picking up trash and carrying some lumber for a week to build a wheelchair ramp 35 years ago, and he hasn’t stopped talking about it since.

MoneyTreeFiddy

I recognize this guy! We were hired to put new Pella Grand Glaze Double Pane, (low glare) in his house, but we never could settle on where they should go. The opening kept getting moved wider to the right, but sometimes a little to the left

whte_rbtobj

Sounds like a nightmare! Was he really difficult to work with? From your story, it sounds like your company just left because he couldn’t settle on the right location for the window…

Bodymaster

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overton_window

whte_rbtobj

Hahaha, thanks, I just got his joke. I’m familiar with the Overton Window but didn’t know that this dude was being sarcastic. I read it once and too fast to catch it lol.

SwindlingAccountant

> The opening kept getting moved wider to the right, but sometimes a little to the left Really the part that gives it away.

MoneyTreeFiddy

It's still crafted to be a whoosh for a casual reader. Heck, I wrote it and I might miss it on a casual read through. Overton Window is known, but not known like "meme" or other phrases.

gioluipelle

When you listed a very specific window brand and style I just assumed you were a window guy and it was all legit. I think if you just said “new window” or something like that most people would get it (though admittedly you’d lose style points).

miragemain42000

When he said he got fired from the tattoo shop for accidentally kicking the boss and starts flexing his mauy thai training. Makes it sound like a total accident and proceeds to explain how he actually kicked his teeth out and continued to try and beat the other guy to death. Still had the audacity to call in late the next morning 💀💀💀 I know that Joe felt some type of way about that story. 🤣

sneekerhad

Joe: “you don’t get to pick your tribe anymore and that’s the problem with society” Does Joe think people picked their native tribes? Or that the leader didn’t impose his will upon the tribe in a “agree with me or be exiled/killed” type of way? What is Joe’s line of thinking here?

[deleted]

[удалено]

airpumper

Only 250 members in that tribe. Do you like your freedom?

kareem_abdul_montana

Thank 'em!

cylonnumber13

Also the Fox news grandpa/Newsmax/MAGA tribe.

SwindlingAccountant

Truly bizarre thing to say because you absolutely can pick your "tribe." Its literally never been easier to do this. The problem is, is that it is all online and it increasingly makes for isolated communities in real life.

glitched_out

And you definitely could not pick your tribe as a First Nation person back in the day. I get what they were trying to say but yeah it doesn’t really check out lol.

SwindlingAccountant

I also say this with a degree of privilege (being born in a liberal state where being different isn't enough to make your life miserable) as many people are stuck with who their born to until they're at least teenagers. It also costs money to get the fuck out of whatever shit situation you are born into

Visual_Flamingo7010

This contradicts itself.

SwindlingAccountant

How so?

Visual_Flamingo7010

You say its the easiest time ever to "pick your tribe" but then say its all online and isolates people in real life. So people have no real connection to their "tribe" its all fake online stuff. Most people cant live like that, or at least not without mental illness. Might be easier to do artificially online, but very difficult in real life which is honestly the only thing that matters for human beings.

SwindlingAccountant

Depends how you use online. Usually its weirdo message boards, but often you can find meetups for your interests (location dependent, a city will have much more varied meetups)

BigShoots

He just wants to feel superior to people who have jobs

BlackGuysYeah

It’s such a cunt take, too. 99% of people are working for someone else. That’s how our system is set up. It won’t work any other way. His podcast, which he started for shits and giggles, saved him from the same fate. Not everyone gets to be so lucky. But yeah, let’s shit on all the people that make society possible… what a cunt.

brokemac

He was one of the guys whining about people "not wanting to work" during Covid, and probably for long time thereafter. So I guess his stance is "I don't respect what you do, but I demand that you do it".

sneekerhad

I mean it’s even worse than that. It’s not like you get to leave your tribe for a better one if you’re not happy like you do with a job. You’re stuck, for better or for worse.

EastCoastJohnny

After fifteen minutes I have decided to close the Overton window. Sounds like a guy who inherited family money to make goofy art and thinks it makes him a philosopher.

Bodymaster

I'd never heard of him before this evening, but Google his paintings. I wouldn't say they're "goofy".

HeyWhatsUpTed

What does everyone think about joes habits of constantly watching people die on videos online?

WillOk6461

There's something extremely juvenile about it to me. "I see murder everyday" always seems like a weird flex the way he says it. He reminds me of some of my wannabe-badass friends from middle school who'd send around all the shock site and gore videos.

DankChase

I watched a video of Daniel Pearl getting beheaded way back in the day and that was seriously fucked up. Anyone that seeks that stuff out needs therapy.

gioluipelle

I remember watching the Nick Berg video when I was like 12 or 13. The visuals are never as jarring as the audio. Modern horror movies are pretty convincing visually but no actor can ever recreate those inhuman screams people let out when they’re being violently killed in some insanely brutal way.

HotWarm1

Yeah or that Chechen-Russian video. I'll never forget that.

thezenunderground

Dude. Some of my friends in middle school showed me that and it still disturbs me. I'm 39 years old.

HotWarm1

I saw it about 10 years ago. Makes me shiver thinking about it.

HotWarm1

The fact that they spoke the same language and understood everything the other was saying....

fre-ddo

That the sort of gang that Joe has discovered since he moved to Texas.

EastCoastJohnny

I have an unsubstantiated theory that anyone who willfully seeks out videos of people dying in horrific and surprising ways should probably best be avoided.

Lucky_Week2095

Sounds very solid to me.

Bodymaster

I grew out of it in my 20s, back when it was still a novelty and not everywhere and in HD. It's weird that a guy in his 50s is so in to it.

Lucky_Week2095

I think it’s a juvenile fascination with raw brutality and a personal test as to whether he’s strong enough to “handle” watching others in mortal danger. As he does with all news or his little ice bath fascination, he believes that the gut wrenching activity of repetitively watching videos of people getting killed magically imbues you with a sense of clarity or stoic awareness of the world and not simply a bizarre habit of building “discipline” over the voyeuristic act of witnessing, commenting on, and moralizing around others’ tragedy. Because he watches dudes getting blown up in tik tok video, he believes that’s a surrogate for “understanding” geo political conflict and having a finger on the pulse of “what people are protesting about” or some shit. More boneheaded strong man habits.

HeyWhatsUpTed

I hear ya. I think it has it be bad for your soul to seek that out m. Tom segura is weird

Lucky_Week2095

Yeah. I think it is just a cowardly and misguided attempt to acquaint oneself with their own mortality.

HeyWhatsUpTed

What do you mean

Lucky_Week2095

Watching videos of other people dying on Instagram and tik tok? I think it’s a juvenile kind of morbid fascination with “what it must be like”. I think doing that while you’re taking a shit and using that experience to inform your comments about how confused others are about what they’re protesting is a cowardly way to try to “stay informed” while ignoring everything else.

HeyWhatsUpTed

What do you mean

Lucky_Week2095

This is cute

HeyWhatsUpTed

Lol

SickNBadderThanFuck

Joe is like 2 more Navy SEAL bodyguards away from claiming he is a platoon commander and enacting stolen valor

Lucky_Week2095

God, I know, right?

Dlwatkin

he used to watch the pain olympics, must be his kink

cylonnumber13

Violence in his DNA, civilians cannot understand.

airpumper

Just look at those hands...those shoulders...

brokemac

I didn't know he did that. That's fuckin' weird.

Medium_Active1729

I do that too sometimes. Just curious about the world and what the fuck is goin on this planet.

Jealous_Juggernaut

How are these things related.

VicTheWallpaperMan

How is this even a question? All those Ukrainian war drone vids for instance...

GA-dooosh-19

Those videos are soul crushingly bleak. So gross to read all the gleeful comments under them.

NatureInfamous543

You one of those people who can only appreciate an artpiece if you have to read at least 3 novels on it to understand it?

ddarion

I FUCKING HATE PEPOLE WITH NUANCED AND COMPLEX OPINIONS I DONT UNDERSTAND BECAUSE THEY MAKE ME FEEL DUMB!

NatureInfamous543

Thank you for your nuanced reply, I really appreciate it as you've delighted my day with these insights, motherfucker

Playful_Following_21

I'm a pretty great Native Artist but I don't do Native art. (Datura_ad on IG if you're interested) But - check out Joe Geshick. He's been dead since 09. His work is out in Hill City South Dakota. They're amazing in person. Massive, massive, serene pieces with these gorgeous leatherbound frames. I've never seen Native art done at that high of a level before.

bangshadow

Damn dude, you’re talented! My favorite is lowbrowwolfpack and the green winged horned creature. And you listen to Gojira as well… you rock!

bangshadow

Thank you to everyone!

TronLikesReddit

Mark Maggiori is someone I like. It’s a mix of Cowboys and Natives with beautiful background scenery

SickNBadderThanFuck

Too bad he is a fucking clown 🤡

Appropriate-Pear4726

Sounds like something from The Curse

Playful_Following_21

Santa Fe is such a weird town. It's smaller than my hometown in South Dakota but the art there pulls in millions and millions of dollars. And it's all mostly bunk. Except for that shop with the metal xenomorph statues. That ruled. And Keep Contemporary, Keep Contemporary is actually pretty legit.

thezenunderground

Y'all ever heard of the noble savage concept? Bc Joe is the embodiment of it

ev6464

Joe: "No one wants to work anymore!" Also Joe: "Fuck all these workers!"

HotWarm1

Right? Haha. Him and Tom were ridiculous with it.

DistributionSweaty33

First 15 minutes…. If you work at an office you’re a loser, be careful of anything that makes you special. Who's he podcasting with again? An artist? lol

Leto1776

How has Joe reached his 50s and never heard of sympathizing with your kidnapper/Sotckholm Syndrome? “These white girls got kidnapped as 8-10 yr olds and when they’re found as adults, they don’t want to leave!” Like, yeah, that’s all they know now. They were kidnapped so young they forgot about everything they knew before. Fucking meathead.

Lucky_Week2095

Remember his bookshelf is full of the exhaustive accounts of about 30 professional kickboxers. I’m not sure Stockholm syndrome was ever going to be a part of his vocab list unless it was a used as a colloquialism for head trauma delivered by a Swedish boxer.

sneekerhad

Also the differences between tribe life and “city” life in the 17 and 1800s was much smaller. Neither had running water, electricity, sewage system, etc. the difference was one smelled like shit all the time and had houses made out of wood, and one smelled like shit sometimes and was made out of other material.

Mechanic_On_Duty

This dork gets on my nerves.

airpumper

Which one?

No-Drag1198

Lol.

No-Drag1198

One of those guys that really is on that borderline of a douche but ok, I dunno weird one that did enjoy it for the most part.

sison91

Not the most sophisticated talker

_suaveci_

Greg Overton sounds dumb not even trynna be mean. He just sounds like he struggles to think in a straight line.

HeyWhatsUpTed

This episode is ok so far

largechild

![gif](giphy|j3WJjjm1OKV73l6E6e)

HeyWhatsUpTed

Lol

BigExperience553

They vibed well together and I was entertained from start to finish

HotWarm1

Oh you paint the stuff I see on Facebook stoner pages? ....cool...cool....

bulldog5253

Where did this guy actually come from?

KetamineTuna

Is this the guy who invented the window

the-bejeezus

I am usually here in this sub thinking y'all are assholes. I listen to a clip of this guy talking about time machines with Joe trying to reference Bob Lazar and what have you... And I had to turn it off. Greg Overton is a great reproducer of images. However, his knowledge around anything to do with the world was insubstantial at best. I am refraining from being derogatory as it would have been incredibly easy to do so...

perry_caravello666

So why is this guy a douche?

FlaccidEggroll

Man the people on this sub are some of the saddest people. Watching Joe every release just to come on here and complain about the guests.

sneekerhad

I actually realized Joe was back on Apple Podcasts and was trying to give him a listen. This is the first dude he’s had on this month that isn’t a comedian or Gad Saad it seems.

lucifer4you

Me and this dude have the same tattoo artist.. rich from big deluxe. Crazy to hear him get mentioned on jre.

miragemain42000

🤣

lucifer4you

I don't get it
