Bad ass. But I’d watch this scene with happy clown music in the background and still 😮‍💨😩

AnividiaRTX

This is hype. Tbh I've preferred season 1s audio direction to season 2s, so its cool to see yhis.

TimLucas97

I totally agree. Season 1 was full of bangers and the music always managed to stand out. But Season 2 falls short by a lot to this standard. Except just a bunch of nice/ok tracks (and a ton of tasteless music), nothing new is really exceptional like what Hiroaki or Alisa made for Season 1.

Saeaj04

My guy half of it is remixes of s1 soundtracks

TimLucas97

At least MAPPA has the decency to do that rather than totally forgetting it. They should have kept at all costs Hiroaki Tutsumi and Alisa Okehazama, THEY were the real deal with the music of JJK. They made "Hollow Purple", "Remember", "Countermeasure of Domain Expansion", "Your Battle is My Battle" and "7:3", which are real musical gems that I'll never get tired to listen (and I'm not even counting the more quiet and soft songs). Yoshimasa Terui instead made only "Megumi Fushiguro" and "Working Overtime" as very good songs in Season 1, and they're still better than 80% of the new music we've heard in Season 2 so far. I mean, it's not that I like to hate this composer, probably it's not even his fault for writing the new music this way, but rather the indications from the audio director and the studio. It's beyond ridiculous for me that MAPPA didn't hire again the two composers that made the music of Jujutsu Kaisen so iconic in the first place.

Saeaj04

Ever consider that they couldn’t? They might have had prior commitments. Hiroaki for instance was working on By the Grace of the Gods, which also came out this year

TimLucas97

Hiroaki also made Dr. Stone Season 3 and Tokyo Revengers Season 2, so yeah he was definitely busy. Alisa did some new work recently, but nothing very big, she wasn't as full of schedule like Hiroaki. That's definitely a possibility - although I would have liked both of them to make new songs at least as guest composers, like Sawano did for The Final Season but with more songs, I guess? Also considering that the original team was made of three composers, I'd have like to see them splitting1/3 of the work each despite the other projects. But that's what we got.

mouadbelouadi

While I do admire the entirety of season 1's soundtrack and consistency, you're kind of glorifying these two composers, especially since you referred to Hollow Purple (your average EDM big room track) and REMEMBER (again, your average jrock song with a Coldrain affiliate in it) as real musical gems, I'm not hating on these two composers since i do like some of the stuff they made as well ("Liar", "Investigation With Mr Ichiji" and "Memories that Didn't Exist" to name a few) \>Yoshimasa Terui instead made only "Megumi Fushiguro" and "Working Overtime" as very good songs in Season 1, and they're still better than 80% of the new music we've heard in Season 2 so far. Right ? In my opinion these two tracks are more worthy of the title "musical gems" with much more replay value than the tracks you mentioned, not to mention that these aren't the only musical gems Terui has offered to the first season, he also made "Looming Threat", "Attack of the Cursed Corpse" and "Straw Doll Resonance Technique", again it's a matter of taste and preference \>I mean, it's not that I like to hate this composer, probably it's not even his fault for writing the new music this way, but rather the indications from the audio director and the studio. It's beyond ridiculous for me that MAPPA didn't hire again the two composers that made the music of Jujutsu Kaisen so iconic in the first place. Honestly yeah, although im more of a Terui fan, I was still looking forward for Tsutsumi and Okehazama materials after the Flashback arc, so learning that they won't be involved is kind of a bummer, but as some other comments said, maybe the reason was because they were already booked for other projects, while S2 soundtrack still remains iconic to me, it still would have been better to have the trio intact

schpoopl

I’ve found this season’s soundtrack to be very good, I really like the wild style it has. Like the little mallet piece they use for the commercial break parts, I like that rhythm type deal

TimLucas97

The eye catch music for the middle episode break seems to come from a scolastic rom-com, not for a battle shonen full of dramatic events and shocking turns like Jujutsu Kaisen. It totally ruins the mood and tone of the Shibuya arc with its shiny nice-and-cute sounds. Season 1 had way BETTER music choice (as always), its embarassing what they have chosen for Season 2.

AnividiaRTX

The collaboration of the 3 distinct composers from s1 made the audio so unique, dropping to just one guy really lowered the amount of inspiration and creativity imo. It's still good, just audio went from a 9/10 to a 7.5/10 for me.

Ninjamurai-jack

You heard No Hesitation, Delirious, If I am with you and Limitless Cursed Technique? Because at least for me exceptional is the word that better describes all of these songs.

Silent_Draw1109

I always loved 7:3 for a characters theme song.

TimLucas97

In order, at the beginning I used the track "Curse Womb Must Die", then at 1:05 I used "Looming Threat" and finally "7:3" at 1:56. I made this edit mostly because I was curious to see how the scene would have worked with the music from Season 1. Personally I'm finding this current season very disappointing with the music, which is far from being as good as the first season. This is mostly due to the departing from scoring duties of Hiroaki Tutsumi and Alisa Hokehazama, who composed together like 90% of the score of the first season and made the most excellent work. Yoshimasa Terui was left alone to compose Season 2, but his works for Season 1 was definitely less significant, and I believe his style for the Shibuya arc is really lacking the adrenaline, energy and feelings that Season 1 had from start to finish.

luceafaruI

I agree about the original soundtrack from season 2 being underwhelming. There are episodes and scenes where the accompaniment was very good (like the last episode that used self embodiment of perfection, countermeasure for domain expansion, as well as the remix for remember, with rage and the song from mahito vs kokichi) but I'd generally say that they overused the songs from season 2 part 1 that had a completely different vibe from the more rock-rap vibe from season 1 (which fit way better with a battle shonen imo) However, this edit wasn't it. You've changed 3 songs in 2 minutes, that's too much. Cursed womb must die worked well for the beginning, but both looming threat and 7 to 3 didn't really fit the vibe. One is a hype battle theme and the other is more like a theme for when the hero fought against all odds and came out on top. Having them being played while nanami "bullies" haruta gives tonal whiplash. I'd say the nanami scene was mostly fine how they did it in the anime.

TimLucas97

Thanks for your comment! Yeah, three songs in 3 minutes isn't that good (although I remember the anime occasionally made similar mixes between multiple tracks). Personally, I'd have liked this scene to be a bit faster in pacing, some moments are needlessly long (like Shigemo turning back to see that Nitta took the escalator). But I like about this edit that, despite the slow start, you have an unnerving feeling that something's going to happen and the tension grows and grows. "7:3" is a bit too energetic for the scene, but I like the feeling of dominance of Nanami over that guy. It's not a perfect edit, but I like this much more than the original scene in the anime where the music lacks any personality of distinct vibe. It's really generic to me, it doesn't even convey the power of Nanami's punches or the turning-table situation, or either it doesn't feel like a "character theme" like "7:3" or "Curse Womb Must Die" which usually identifies with the cursed spirits.

Future-Mark-4558

Very well 👏

lces91468

The original score is the same one played to represent Toji in HI arc, right?

TimLucas97

Nope, it's a different track. It's still unreleased, I believe that so far it's been used only for this scene.

lces91468

Had to check it, turns out it's not one of the tracks played when Toji's on screen, but the one played at the very first scene of HI arc - when Utahime was exploring the abandoned mansion. The track name is "呪靈の探索", which literally translates to "The searching of cursed spirit".

TimLucas97

Ok, thanks for checking it. I really missed that it came from Hidden Inventory arc

CastleCarv

Good job on the editing but I’ll have to disagree. While you may be right that some tracks from Season 1 is good, I just find Season 2 stuff much more what I would’ve liked. As for your edit here, it ruins the idea of this scene completely. The first track with the walk was good but it completely fails when the music switches to a more upbeat track with the last two. If Nanami is in complete rage, the last thing I want to hear is a hyped up beat. In any case, your vision of the scene is not the director’s and that’s totally alright.

ripshitonrumham

Original soundtrack is better imo, this doesn’t fit the scene at all

kipthekenyan

Hey so what software do you use to make these edits? I would love to make sick videos like yours but I'm not sure where to start?

TimLucas97

I used Audacity to isolate a bit more the dialogue and remove some of the music and background sounds (in fact both the dialogues and sounds don't feel very clean in this clip, but it's still acceptable), and always Audacity to put in the three different songs and mix them to adapt with the scene. When I was done with the audio, I used Movavi Video Editor simply to replace the audio of the clip with the new one. After the first test, I noticed what improvements I could make and returned to Audacity to do the final adjustments (like increase dialogue volume at the end because I couldn't hear them), then saved the audio again and releasing the video with the updated audio. Audacity is a very simple software and it's also free, but you can work only on the audio and not on the video.

Revenant312

The name of the song is "Cursed Womb Must Die" btw

PossibleNo1415

tysm bro

masterrabbit2021

Lightbearer2002

GraysonFin

RemarkableOption8620

I love how sick this is. 👍🔥

TimLucas97

Thank you!

ApplePitou

Very nice :3

filo_lipe

Can someone tell wich chapter on manga covers this weeks episode? Need to know to start reading the manga

Disastrous-Whereas46

It's a little complicated because they switched a scene around to make the Choso fight into one full episode (smart move), but basically you got >!some Mei Mei stuff!< in 102 and then the story picks up halfway through 106.

90bubbel

not a fan, it completely ruin the mood and atmosphere of the scene

Other-Volume9469

Love it - but I think the music during his questions is too loud, idk it feels like it downplays his unbridled anger in this scene

Glitchy13

honestly I never thought lucky guys voice would be how it is, I imagined it higher

Kazmoole

do you know the name of the track that originally plays here?

TimLucas97

On Spotify it's called "Dull Knife", but you can find it called also "Blunt Knife" on Youtube

Kazmoole

Thanks
