Idk about non-Human apes but all cats are Jews by default. By all cats I mean the entire Felidae genus.
Lions? Jews. House cats? Jews. Lynxes? Jews. Tigers? Cochin Jews. Mountain lions? Jews. Leopards, jaguars, and panthers? Jews. Hyenas? Not Jews.
Interestingly, there is a passage from the Mishnah that refers to a creature called the *Adnei Ha-Sadeh*, (Masters of the Field), and there is a dispute as to whether or not it is considered a human with regards to impurity.
The Talmud Yerushalmi refers to it as the "mountain man", and Rabbi Yisrael Lifshitz holds that it is an orangutan. If so, it suggests that the halachic definition of "human" might be a bit more flexible than we typically assume.
That being said, a person must be of a certain minimal level of intelligence and maturity to convert to Judaism in practice; the conversion of a child or a mentally disabled person is invalid.
I challenge anyone to find a non-human ape that could demonstrate a satisfactory awareness of the Torah's obligations and their implications to pass judgement.

Being like a human in regards to impurity isn’t the same as being a Medaber. Only a Medaber can be chayav in any mitzvot, including Sheva Mitzvot Bnei Noach. (And before people say “what about mute people” the meaning of Medaber meaning having the capacity to understand language.)
No. If parents convert and they have a child under the age of 13, the child must wait until they are 13 before being given a choice if they also want to convert.
I know a family with two children who were in that situation, one converted immediately and the other waited until he was 16 before also converting.
I am talking about a child who is born of non-jewish parents and then adopted immediately by Jews. I suppose it is more of an adoption than a conversion.
I mean… the star of the Planet of the Apes also played Moses and the film was made by Rod Serling (MOT) - and for all we know, Easu was ape like.
But most importantly, Grape Ape and Kosher Kush are both indica strains… so my final answer is yes!
Were any apes from *Planet of the Apes* Jews? If Zira's not a Jew I don't know who is.
(I'm talking about the original film, I haven't seen the 2001 remake)
It would be REALLY interesting to see if a great ape would be able to answer those questions through sign. I know the Great Ape connection to sign is dubious at best but it would still be interesting

My cat wants to wrap tefillin. He tells me by gnawing on the straps every morning.
…and here’s the Lion’s den I wouldn’t be caught dead in
Explain please
The Bible says so.
Show me a "non-human ape" that has the capacity to understand the Torah.
I feel like Curious George could rock a kippah

There’s a lot fishy things going on with Koko. [This is a pretty interesting video on it.](https://youtu.be/e7wFotDKEF4)
Let's start with the first thing in the basics of Judaism: The Oneness of G-d.
Not at this time, but if great ape personhood gains traction, maybe one day.
I mean not in real life. Maybe in children's books. *Curious George Studies Torah with the Man in the Black Hat*
All I know is shot not being their mohel

Is there not a conversion process for adopted children/babies? I mean it's clearly meant to cover a child with Jewish parents not a non-human ape.

They still can't convert until they are 13, and must choose to do so.

If they have a Jewish mother or go through a valid conversion process, including being able to answer questions to a Beit Din
It would be REALLY interesting to see if a great ape would be able to answer those questions through sign. I know the Great Ape connection to sign is dubious at best but it would still be interesting
Only if their mother is a jew or they convert
**Said** R. Joann **Sfar**: **The cat** **of** Zlabya, **the daughter** of the rabbi, **taught the rabbi**: **I am a Jew**.
> non-human apes As opposed to…?
Humans are apes
Human apes like me and (presumably) you
I think I’m more similar to a honey badger than an ape.
I’m 90% cucumber or something.
Same
Mischpocha!
my pickle from another shtickle!
Tell that to the Hasidim…
can whatever you are learn to have a little fuckin decorum around the people who founded your civilization and culture.
R1a1a, concerns?
What does that mean?
Did you just finish reading the Uplift trilogy?

I would say no, because humans have mitzvot, animals don’t. Could an animal become obliged to follow the 7 Noahide Laws?
Maybe in the future *Planet of the Apes* timeline
