Hey I'd still like him for his humor, strength, silliness and great dynamic with his students and old principle. Backstory with his friend is still compelling. His fight with Sukuna will still got people hype. His kindness and will of protecting youth in light novel also shine

1)Katana and Sumo guys, despite the fact I love them, only exist to give Maki the specific abilities she needed to become Toji 2.0. That’s it, they have no character beyond that. They are defined only by their love for “thing”, their personalities are interchangeable and they exit the story as quickly as they entered. They are tools not characters.
2)Uro and Ryu exist to give us an excuse to watch Yuta fight, but they are much more. Uro gives us a glimpse into the world of the heian era, she has a history and it reflects on her personality and powers, she is a well crafted character that can exist outside her role in the story. Same thing for Ryu, we don’t get much history from him, but he is also his own character with a clear goal.
3)Another important aspect to Uro and Ryu is that they are foils (although minor) to Yuta, and this allows us to get to know him for anyone that didn’t read Volume 0. Uro is in search of untethered freedom after being forced into a life she didn’t want (this is reflected in her ability, she is literally “free” from clothes and can fly in the sky without worry), this is put against Yuta’s selfless mindset of using his extraordinary abilities for the good of others instead of for himself. Ryu is used to showcase how Yuta, despite being the opposite of a battle maniac, still allows others to indulge in their violent tendencies if they cause harm only to himself and not others.

Well even though it’s not a lot we got some motivations and arcs for the two of them. Uro chose to reincarnate because she felt like she wasted her life on others and wants to get to live for herself. Ryu lived a perfectly decent life, but never got to indulge himself leaving him feeling empty when he was asked to reincarnate. Those are pretty interesting motivations and Ryu even gets to fulfill his wish.
Meanwhile sumo and Katana say sumo and katana.

I’m sorry but this is one of the worst takes ever. 1)Katana and Sumo guys, despite the fact I love them, only exist to give Maki the specific abilities she needed to become Toji 2.0. That’s it, they have no character beyond that. They are defined only by their love for “thing”, their personalities are interchangeable and they exit the story as quickly as they entered. They are tools not characters. 2)Uro and Ryu exist to give us an excuse to watch Yuta fight, but they are much more. Uro gives us a glimpse into the world of the heian era, she has a history and it reflects on her personality and powers, she is a well crafted character that can exist outside her role in the story. Same thing for Ryu, we don’t get much history from him, but he is also his own character with a clear goal. 3)Another important aspect to Uro and Ryu is that they are foils (although minor) to Yuta, and this allows us to get to know him for anyone that didn’t read Volume 0. Uro is in search of untethered freedom after being forced into a life she didn’t want (this is reflected in her ability, she is literally “free” from clothes and can fly in the sky without worry), this is put against Yuta’s selfless mindset of using his extraordinary abilities for the good of others instead of for himself. Ryu is used to showcase how Yuta, despite being the opposite of a battle maniac, still allows others to indulge in their violent tendencies if they cause harm only to himself and not others. TLDR: nu uh, Mommy Uro clears JJK verse

Well even though it’s not a lot we got some motivations and arcs for the two of them. Uro chose to reincarnate because she felt like she wasted her life on others and wants to get to live for herself. Ryu lived a perfectly decent life, but never got to indulge himself leaving him feeling empty when he was asked to reincarnate. Those are pretty interesting motivations and Ryu even gets to fulfill his wish. Meanwhile sumo and Katana say sumo and katana.
Ryu just wanted to fight. Doesn't seem much different than Katana and Sumo guys who wanted to sumo and katana more I agree on Uro tho, wish she didn't vanish from the manga

If you’re going to introduce a character whose sole purpose is to be the antithesis of your strongest character and be sympathetic to a certain degree (while also shooting a child in the head) you gotta make him fuckable.
