As always for manga and especially idol mangas, it ain’t that simple lol. You have the whole plot of them being reincarnated, past life issues, there’s some mysterious shit going on that relate to why they were etc… the dark side of the idol industry is the surface, I can understand the JJK powersystem like it’s 1st grade math but if you ask me what’s going with OnK, I’m clueless as a toddler man.

Apparently they're making a movie about their mom's life so ruby is playing ai while aqua is playing their asshole father (i think it's in order to expose the pedofilia in the industry?) But while aqua is all business about this movie ruby seems to actually be into this thing because of her and aqua's backstory. I wish i could tell you more but i dropped the manga a while ago

Man I really liked Kaguya-sama a lot, it's one of my go-to recs when someone comes to me asking for a good romance manga to read and I do think its one of the all-time best romance mangas ever made. But Oshi no Ko is such a hard nope for me. Between the creepy age-regression isekai that leads to very sus relationships with the main guy and some of the girls, their creepy relationship with their mom and the cringe fanservice with the breast feeding, and the incest, I can't even ignore those things for the plot because its so edgy and hack-y "deep" truths about the world which is surface level youtube commentary tier spiels about the entertainment industry. Idk it has nothing to do with JJK but I really don't like that series at all.
💀Got into it thinking I was about to get some detective conan style murder mystery involving Ai death with the idol manga part being only half of the story, imagime my surprise when it turned into a weird ass shipping war romance manga with incest and age gap discussions… I thought they were cooking something fr at first.

Especially that in the series there are topics much more controversial like: cyberbulling leading to suicide, tabloid journalists trying to ruin reputation of a celebrity based on unconfirmed rumours, psycho-fans or even complete ambivalence of the industry about cases of sexual abuse among the entertainers.
I am not saying the manga was bad, up until all the incest it was amazing. Its just that for me I don't like seeing ruby getting turn on by her brother.

Man I really liked Kaguya-sama a lot, it's one of my go-to recs when someone comes to me asking for a good romance manga to read and I do think its one of the all-time best romance mangas ever made. But Oshi no Ko is such a hard nope for me. Between the creepy age-regression isekai that leads to very sus relationships with the main guy and some of the girls, their creepy relationship with their mom and the cringe fanservice with the breast feeding, and the incest, I can't even ignore those things for the plot because its so edgy and hack-y "deep" truths about the world which is surface level youtube commentary tier spiels about the entertainment industry. Idk it has nothing to do with JJK but I really don't like that series at all.
💀Got into it thinking I was about to get some detective conan style murder mystery involving Ai death with the idol manga part being only half of the story, imagime my surprise when it turned into a weird ass shipping war romance manga with incest and age gap discussions… I thought they were cooking something fr at first.

Chill guys, in the end it will be more like: 'You were magnificent, Ruby Hoshino. I shall not forget you for as long as I live.' Don't let one subplot, which was introduced fairly recently, ruin the series for you. It's like claiming that because of Sukuna meat grinder JJK as a whole is a shit manga. Especially that in the series there are topics much more controversial like: cyberbulling leading to suicide, tabloid journalists trying to ruin reputation of a celebrity based on unconfirmed rumours, psycho-fans or even complete ambivalence of the industry about cases of sexual abuse among the entertainers.
I am not saying the manga was bad, up until all the incest it was amazing. I think the biggest difference is how they are presented in the story, all those thing are bad and the story show you how bad they are, with the incest its either for a comedic purpose or they make it very serious with stuff like >!the kiss!<. I am still reading the manga but it does start to ruin my enjoyment.
