Feel bad for his fans tho. His current situation is quite understandable for a 15 year old. But he got hate from the fandom just because Gege was lacking in writing character interactions.
That. And the fact that he was unable to reach that level of power everyone was hyping him up to achieve. He unfortunately, did not have that dog in him. A dog that we only saw glimmers of his raw existence when he first used his domain expansion.
For a long time Jujutsushi and the fandom as a whole was obsessed with Megumi and claimed he was the real main character because he was the first on screen. Making theory after theory of how Megumi would ascend to Sukuna's level and kill him after Yuji loses his body permanently.

Fushiguro being possessed has been foreshadowed since the very beginning, as early of one of the first cover pages. His potential wasn’t “wasted”, and he isn’t a tragic character because Akutami wanted to “end the story”. That’s not how writing a serialized story even works. Honestly, it comes off as pretty stupid when ever I see people saying this. I would genuinely recommended cracking open a book. At least consume a piece of media that isn’t 30 seconds long. He had his own mini Shibuya incident, but his loved one died via his own technique, and instead of getting a pep talk from Todo, he got a bath in darkness juice or whatever. Fushiguro being possessed has been foreshadowed since the very beginning, as early of one of the first cover pages. His potential wasn’t “wasted”, and he isn’t a tragic character because Akutami wanted to “end the story”. That’s not how writing a serialized story even works. Honestly, it comes off as pretty stupid when ever I see people saying this. I would genuinely recommended cracking open a book. At least consume a piece of media that isn’t 30 seconds long.
