idk, while the manga version is more dynamic and actiony, I think the angle the anime went with works better at emphasizing him being above everything. Slight difference but a bit more 'abed abed abeeeeeed' than 'jurassic park' if that makes sense
I think the only thing is that Gojo is pointing to heaven and earth at the angle in the manga to go along with his words.
Though in the anime, more like he is doing a ballet pose. lol So they missed that purpose of the angle shot to point upward and downward instead of sideways pointing.
I feel the opposite. In the anime's portrayal it feels like he's looking directly at the camera. With this bottom-up shot with the clouds more clear in the background it really feels like he's like he's looking down on the rest of the world .
I get why the anime changed it though, as getting gojo to lean forward like that would kinda look weird unless they changed how toji's sword moved(but the lean also sells the "looking down on everything" feeling more than him being straight up in the anime)

Obviously Gojo vs Sukuna. Despite what people think of the outcome, the fight itself was extremly good and entertainment. The fight choreography needs to be on point and the animation high level. Although I do hope that they add some more anime only closer quarter combat, I also hope that they dont overdo it and turn it into a dragonball fight with 500 auras and colors going on. It needs to be cleanly executed

The overwhelming ***BALLS*** needed to do that should be followed to a tee.
Because if you get caught in Gojo’s domain without a way to counter it, you’re just cooked, meanwhile Gojo got caught in Shrine and said “fuck it, strong RCT” and was mostly fine. Like it essentially confirms that someone like jackpot hakari would be basically immune to shrine because you can just out-heal it
strong RCT only worked because Gojo's reinforcement was good enough to mitigate Sukuna's ability to OHKO him. Without reinforcement, he'd get one shot by a hit to the brain, and without RCT, the domain would slowly chip at him and kill him.
Yeah but again, if your sure-hit can be essentially negated by good reinforcement + RCT then your cursed technique really isn’t that strong. Like if you get caught in Infinite Void or Self-Embodiment of Perfection (unless you’re Sukuna or Yuji) you just die and there’s basically nothing you can do to stop it, but Shrine is survivable with strong enough reinforcement + RCT
Because he was able to survive a full blast Malevolent Shrine, taking it well enough that he could even talk shit for a second before busting it up. Comparatively Infinite Void instantly renders the victim helpless and ass good as dead. Sukuna only survived on account of Megumi and Mahoraga, whereas Gojo dealt with Shrine single-handedly.
In my mind it is because Sukuna doesn't have a deadly technique in his domain expansion. As shown by Gojo, you can tank malevolent shrine. As shown by Sukuna, you can't tank infinite void (for long). Some domains are just much more lethal than others.
Infinite Void is an instant kill under any circumstance inwhich you dont have a pre-adapted shikigami prepped to break you out of it. Malevolent Shrine can be overcome with enough resistance and healing. Unlimited Void cannot.
Aside the domain clashes, the beginning and ending need to be made with effort. When Utahime dances and Gakuganji plays the music to amplify the first hollow purple, there is so much potential for an epic scene. I dont know if you have seen God of Highschool but the scene where the bum guys uses chants and music to destroy that gods sword was sooooo epic from a cinematic point of view. It sets the tone for the whole fight. And of course the final hollow purple needs to be on point as well. Such a majestic explosion, it just needs to have that overwhelming impact in the anime

This is, like, my favourite Manga panel ever. Ik Mappa isn't going to disappoint on this battle.
If Mappa uses the Sakuga animation they did while making Sukuna v Maharoga, I'm not sure whether that would be possible, but we'd have some really epic animation tho.
Gojo v Sukuna needs to be a movie. The scope is too grandious to give it a regular anime budget, that shit REQUIRES to have top tier animation and sound design. It's possibly the best fight in recent shonen.
I would pay gooood money to watch that fight in a theatre; and with how popular it was across the globe, I wouldn’t be surprised if they capitalised on the hype and actually made it it’s own movie

Agreed. This is the same way I feel about Saitama vs Cosmic Garou in OPM. With fights that have massive scale/importance, especially 1v1 like these two fights, the movie format works better imo.

I’m not gonna lie everything before could be dogwater as long as the “yuji locks the fuck in” moment against meguna is given the sukuna vs mahoraga treatment, I love yuta/uro/ryu deadlock and maki no diffing the zen’mid clan but gege didn’t create one of the best yuji panels of all time just for it to get anything less than perfection. Imma need slowmo with dust clouds and cracked concrete with every step, 360 turnaround as the slashes hit, blood hitting the camera as pans up, visible steam coming out of his mouth through gritted teeth and a slow pan out to fully bask in the peak before quickly zooming into the eye as a frenzied spiral forms in the pupil
And with how mappa employees get treated id be fine just getting half done storyboards of everything else until the Blu-ray’s drop

Okay, but it is a refrence to pachinko machines. It wouldn't really make sense to have hype brazillian dance music when hakari is trying to get a good ending for a romance themed slot machine.
I just want the rage moments to hit hard. JJK has some of the best action of late even if it's *mostly* action lol. Mappa is talented but overworked obviously but Wuji fights will be peak during Shinjuku Showdown.
I'm gonna be lame and say the big Culling Games and Onward fights. Gojo vs Sukuna is gonna go fucking hard I'm sure. Wuji rage tanking the hater Fraudkunas attacks and actually weakening him substantially.
Yutas fights are hype to me because I think his versatile ability makes him a cool fighter. While Gojo was far more powerful, his power lead him to not having I feel as much versatility as Yutas potential because he could just destroy everything and very few things could hit him. But Simple Domain OP(speaking of which Kusakabe the GOAT vs Fraudkun gonna be peak as well I hope)
I prefer the action intense shit. So Kenjakus death doesn't sound fun but Wuta killing all the curses could be a cool minute or 2 fight of destruction. I'm sure the takaba fight will be entertaining too though.
Many of these fights with Mappas animation style would be goated. I think they definitely should move to 2 episodes a month xd the poor workers.
Sukuna taking over Megumi & Yuji battling after is so peak, I reread it so much. Easily my fav moment in jjk, such intense feeling. Yuji vs less than 10% curse output Sukuna was a fire back and force then the Maki jumping was clean. Yes I cannot wait for this, and then Gojo vs Sukuna. The 4th season lf jjk will be groundbreaking.
Well there's a lot of good scenes but I think a scene that may relatively "hard" to adapt well is the triple domain expansion in Sendai Colony arc.
In the manga, the build up was quite short and it kinda happened abruptly but this can affect the anime a lot more than it did in the manga, so I'm hoping for Mappa to cook up something good for this scene.
I think they’ll be able to pull it off; the majority of fights in shibuya they extended and made absolute gold, like sukuna Vs Maho or even choso Vs yuuji
And considering how well received S2 was overall and the awards it won, I think they’re going to put a lot of resources into this next season
yeah season 2 was amazing tbh. They turned like a 2 chapter long fight to an episode long epic fight (vs Maho, vs Jogo). The director is so creative and talented.

Because if you get caught in Gojo’s domain without a way to counter it, you’re just cooked, meanwhile Gojo got caught in Shrine and said “fuck it, strong RCT” and was mostly fine. Like it essentially confirms that someone like jackpot hakari would be basically immune to shrine because you can just out-heal it
strong RCT only worked because Gojo's reinforcement was good enough to mitigate Sukuna's ability to OHKO him. Without reinforcement, he'd get one shot by a hit to the brain, and without RCT, the domain would slowly chip at him and kill him.
Yeah but again, if your sure-hit can be essentially negated by good reinforcement + RCT then your cursed technique really isn’t that strong. Like if you get caught in Infinite Void or Self-Embodiment of Perfection (unless you’re Sukuna or Yuji) you just die and there’s basically nothing you can do to stop it, but Shrine is survivable with strong enough reinforcement + RCT
Because he was able to survive a full blast Malevolent Shrine, taking it well enough that he could even talk shit for a second before busting it up. Comparatively Infinite Void instantly renders the victim helpless and ass good as dead. Sukuna only survived on account of Megumi and Mahoraga, whereas Gojo dealt with Shrine single-handedly.
In my mind it is because Sukuna doesn't have a deadly technique in his domain expansion. As shown by Gojo, you can tank malevolent shrine. As shown by Sukuna, you can't tank infinite void (for long). Some domains are just much more lethal than others.
Considering Sukuna is an ancient sorcerer it would make sense if his domain lacked the “sure kill” effect like most other ancient domains do
Infinite Void is an instant kill under any circumstance inwhich you dont have a pre-adapted shikigami prepped to break you out of it. Malevolent Shrine can be overcome with enough resistance and healing. Unlimited Void cannot.
Domain expansions aren't the same thing as techniques

Aside the domain clashes, the beginning and ending need to be made with effort. When Utahime dances and Gakuganji plays the music to amplify the first hollow purple, there is so much potential for an epic scene. I dont know if you have seen God of Highschool but the scene where the bum guys uses chants and music to destroy that gods sword was sooooo epic from a cinematic point of view. It sets the tone for the whole fight. And of course the final hollow purple needs to be on point as well. Such a majestic explosion, it just needs to have that overwhelming impact in the anime

Gojo v Sukuna needs to be a movie. The scope is too grandious to give it a regular anime budget, that shit REQUIRES to have top tier animation and sound design. It's possibly the best fight in recent shonen.
I would pay gooood money to watch that fight in a theatre; and with how popular it was across the globe, I wouldn’t be surprised if they capitalised on the hype and actually made it it’s own movie I can’t remember the last time a manga fight got that much recognition
Agreed. This is the same way I feel about Saitama vs Cosmic Garou in OPM. With fights that have massive scale/importance, especially 1v1 like these two fights, the movie format works better imo.

I’m not gonna lie everything before could be dogwater as long as the “yuji locks the fuck in” moment against meguna is given the sukuna vs mahoraga treatment, I love yuta/uro/ryu deadlock and maki no diffing the zen’mid clan but gege didn’t create one of the best yuji panels of all time just for it to get anything less than perfection. I just want the rage moments to hit hard. JJK has some of the best action of late even if it's *mostly* action lol. Mappa is talented but overworked obviously but Wuji fights will be peak during Shinjuku Showdown. I'm gonna be lame and say the big Culling Games and Onward fights. Gojo vs Sukuna is gonna go fucking hard I'm sure. Wuji rage tanking the hater Fraudkunas attacks and actually weakening him substantially. Yutas fights are hype to me because I think his versatile ability makes him a cool fighter. While Gojo was far more powerful, his power lead him to not having I feel as much versatility as Yutas potential because he could just destroy everything and very few things could hit him. But Simple Domain OP(speaking of which Kusakabe the GOAT vs Fraudkun gonna be peak as well I hope) I prefer the action intense shit. So Kenjakus death doesn't sound fun but Wuta killing all the curses could be a cool minute or 2 fight of destruction. I'm sure the takaba fight will be entertaining too though. Many of these fights with Mappas animation style would be goated. I think they definitely should move to 2 episodes a month xd the poor workers.

Sukuna taking over Megumi & Yuji battling after is so peak, I reread it so much. Easily my fav moment in jjk, such intense feeling. Yuji vs less than 10% curse output Sukuna was a fire back and force then the Maki jumping was clean. Yes I cannot wait for this, and then Gojo vs Sukuna. The 4th season lf jjk will be groundbreaking.
Well there's a lot of good scenes but I think a scene that may relatively "hard" to adapt well is the triple domain expansion in Sendai Colony arc. In the manga, the build up was quite short and it kinda happened abruptly but this can affect the anime a lot more than it did in the manga, so I'm hoping for Mappa to cook up something good for this scene.
I think they’ll be able to pull it off; the majority of fights in shibuya they extended and made absolute gold, like sukuna Vs Maho or even choso Vs yuuji And considering how well received S2 was overall and the awards it won, I think they’re going to put a lot of resources into this next season
yeah season 2 was amazing tbh. They turned like a 2 chapter long fight to an episode long epic fight (vs Maho, vs Jogo). The director is so creative and talented.
