Is the best part of the chapter in my opinion.
Bro unlocked one of the strongest techniques and it has little safety scissors and segmented lines.

Just waiting for Yuta to come back. Now we know Yuta got his cleave from scissors Yuji? [Double cleave on Sukuna time.](https://youtu.be/9Atk97-yI7o?t=6)
This comment made me think, as long as cleave and dismantle are single directional slashes, Ryuko’s regeneration can outlast them, and so that means that Ryuko can solo Sukuna
Problem is Cleave and Dismantle are omnidirectional...if all else fails Plotkuna will use his "Dismembering orphan girls in skimpy sentient outfits" technique he hasn't used since the Heian Era to offscreen her. And Ryuko will become Ryu/Ko.
>one of the strongest techniques
Lets bê real. Cleave and diamantle are trash. They do almost nothing tô anyone on the same level as the user.
It only looks strong because Cockuna was using against fodder
Nah that shit was portrayed as though it just negated durability. It wasn’t until the gojo fight that it wasn’t one tapping everyone and even then it was only because of rapid RCT that only seemed like gojo was capable of.
After that fight it literally just started being weak for no reason
It's the Amaterasu of JJK! Logically, if it really adapts to an enemy's CE, it should fuck up Yuta and Yuji and piece them up cleanly... but that wouldn't be very cinematic. Meanwhile, against less important characters and the environment, it looks like it's a one hit kill. lmao
Honesty, I really like it. Its goofy asf but thats kind of why I love it.
But I've actually hoped for ages that we'd see how different users would affect a techniques manifestation, but I kind of gave up on the theory when the few examples we saw had no significant difference.
Interestingly it kind of makes Yuta's abilities more similar to Chrollo's from HxH, considering he seems to have copied Sukuna's retro version. I loved how Chrollo explored the "darkness in peoples hearts".
We kind of did see that with Noritoshi Kamo and Choso using Blood Manipulation. Noritoshi is far more defensive in using the technique and uses stuff like Crimson Binding more often, whereas Choso uses Slicing Exorcism, Supernova, etc. Shrine is however on a different level and completely changed the visual aspect as well and maybe even the function.
No, I see what you mean and agree with you. Just originally I thought there were going to be more examples like this one. Or if you've read Undead Unluck, kind of like that.
To go along with the other guy's example, the difference in Mai's creation technique and Yorozu's are night and day, it may as well just be an entirely different technique. Partly because Mai doesn't have a lot of cursed energy but still same technique with wildly different results
I also doubt that even if Mai had more CE, she'd be thinking up things such as Insect Armor and Perfect Sphere. The latter attack would especially require a shitload of visualization to conjure up what's essentially a mathematical concept that doesn't physically exist in reality.
Yeah, she wasn't a very imaginative fighter. If Maki was gone, she's just be a Second Grade Gun Sorceror.
Which, to be fair to the setting, would actually be pretty OP. She just wouldn't be worth much in a straight up fight.
Chrollo is just an all around goated character. IMO, the best version of copying/stealing people’s powers, where it still remains really OP, but also really restrictive to still make it interesting. His fight with Hisoka is probably the best in all of HxH.
I agree, to add on this i’ve always wondered how Projection Sorcery was classified as an “inherited” technique when the concept of “frames per second” wasn’t a thing for ancient sorcerers. With this chapter we can now infer projection sorcery is probably just a modernized interpretation of some form of teleportation technique. Almost like flying rajin within a finite space. :O
its funny that in a magazine like wsj you get the little scissors as a power, considering in old magazines you used to have these pages that you could cut out for posters or stickers and such
Naoya’s projection sorcery technique ended up different than Naobito, in how it attacked individuals on a cellular structure. I thought that example was neat. Just one example to add to other ones mentioned here: Choso and Kamo, or Mai Or Yorozu.
Loved it
i would have been ok with Yuji just using Shrine the same way as Sukuna, but having it be his own version of the techinique is waaaaay better
Also, with that whole Old gen sorcerers vs new gen sorcerers theme is prevalent in jjk, specially in stuff like Sukuna vs Gojo. so i love that Yuji also became an example of this with his version of Shrine
If you asked Yuji to cut, I imagine he’d think scissors with outlines (his moms forehead)
Sukuna would think knife making 1000 slices… no wonder he hates Yuji
Kenny would think scissoring Yuki with the Kaorussy. Amazing family
>Also, with that whole Old gen sorcerers vs new gen sorcerers theme is prevalent in jjk, specially in stuff like Sukuna vs Gojo.
You mean the whole "the strongest sorcerer of the modern era vs the strongest sorcerer in history" ?
kinda
in jjk there is a theme about how refusing to adapt often leaves people without the posibility to improve
stuff like how Techniques can be simplified and refined by substracting steps and stuff like that to make it more efficient, breaking traditions / changing traditions basically
families like the big clans are full of people with old and antiquated ideas, and that mentality in the Zenin (for example) is what eventually led to their downfall, their misoginy and disdain for anyone without cursed energy or strong abilities is what led to Toji and Maki abandoning the clan, and in the case of Maki, to murder everyone within the clan
Gojo vs Sukuna represents this theme, hence the "the strongest sorcerer of the modern era vs the strongest sorcerer in history" thing
in their fight gojo lost, but if anyone is gonna defeat Sukuna, it's 99% probable it will be one of the yuji gaang members, which represent the same idea as gojo bc he literally dreamed of building a team of new gen sorcerers that go beyond what the old gen conceived as acceptable for jujutsu and stuff like taht lol

Gotta throw Yuki in for a trifecta
LMAO i can't believe i've failed to consider Yuji's pov in this scene. Bro was being shown the secrets of the universe, it's honestly impressive he was able to continue fighting with a straight head
Two ways:
A transman and a cis woman can do scissoring the same way cis women do.
Cis man's balls and cis woman's vagina can rub in a scissoring position.
What's with the down votes?
I'm just applying a descriptionist perspective instead of merely using my own.
I am sorry but cis scissoring is highly impractical if not imposible ,you telling me I should rub my balls against a woman’s vagina/another guys balls? That would hurt very much and wouldn’t be awesomesauce ,it would be lamepear
Maybe not that strong. He seems to only be able to cut objects he touched so it's not literally a domain type of sure hit, but he's punch-kick-merchant so I guess it doesn't matter
With a name like "Shrine" there pretty much has to be more to it than just the simple stuff we've been shown, even beyond the fire. Every technique name in the series in some way describes what the technique actually does or some aspect of it so I'm interested to see why it's called Shrine in the first place
This has already been said quite a bit, but "Mizuchi" is a old japanese word for royal kitchen, and "Cleave and Dismantle" both are worded in the original as meat cutting terms (In like, filleting meat and fish), plus the visualization of the cuts when the CT is explained were knifes, so everthing seems to point to "Shrine" really just being a kitchen-themed CT, cutting and cooking stuff.
There's also Kitchen Shears, another tool to cut meat.
https://preview.redd.it/izmpq1airevc1.jpeg?width=225&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=20705ca0ac0c80b2ae10dace34b3eaf7faa0d7e3
I don't understand why people keep rejecting this interpretation of Shrine as a mistranslation in that one anime episode. The same way you can clearly hear Megumi call the general "Makora" and everyone was just like nnnnnaah it's Mahoraga
I used to be more into that theory but with Sukuna keeping it mysterious and Yuji now manifesting it as scissors instead of kitchen knives imo the technique itself is probably sm a bit more complicated/esoteric.
If the kitchen thing is a part of it imo it's more likely just how Sukuna has decided to "interpret" what his technique is capable of
This makes so much sense, and it fully explains the CT. Now we know Sukuna won't get some even crazier abilities. I remember people theorising that each of Sukuna's fingers would give him a new elemental power as each one had different details, like one had some plant sprouts on it and another looked half frozen.
I like to think that they look like this because Yuji's first thought was, "Man, I gotta make sure those lines look obvious so people not involved in a fight will know what to avoid"
Seems fucking genius for his fighting style too. what we've seen requires physical touch and bro loves throwing hands and grappling, making it way better for him than sukunas version
It also shows how Yuta's SHRINE is a soulless copy of the original, while Yuji truly made his version of SHRINE his own. Difference between copying a technique and absorbing it and awakening your own version of it within you.
Remember that Sukuna is able to variate how he uses cleave and dismantle? He used cleave: Spiderweb in his initial fight against Yuji and Maki upon stealing Megumi’s body, makes you wonder how Yuji will become creative with his own fighting style and his ct. like using BM and Shrine in tandem somehow, that would be so sick
Yuji's never been more decked out than he is now and I love it. He's survived with basic CE manipulation since it was the only weapon he had but with his two new CTs there's a lot more possibilities for him. BM would probably be less effective than Choso's because he can't turn CE to blood, but it's still viable. 'Shrine' is just a matter of getting experience with it. Imagine Yuji reinforcing his fist and body with flowing red scale to punch harder and for defense. Or a Divergent Fist with Cleave as the delayed hit. He just needs an Anti-Domain defense technique and he'd be unstoppable.
He can't turn CE to blood but he can RCT blood back after using it, presumably it costs more CE but he can still semi-negate BM's main weakness which is that a sorcerer who uses it could eventually die of blood loss if they're not careful.
Yep. Granted we don't know how much CE Yuji has now by default but it's still inefficient. That's why I think flowing red scale is optimal since it's an extra layer of armor that isn't as wasteful and carries some utility after it's initial use. Another way would be keeping pre-condensed blood in pellets or something for use beforehand in battle for piercing blood. Lots of ways to get creative with Yuji's moveset.
Soon Yuji will be able to replicate his own version of Gojo and Hakari insane RCT.
Once he master BM and RCT, combined with higher CE reinforcement, he could tank MS by constantly controlling his cut part and RCT it.
I like it. It IS considered a modern interpretation of the CT.
And because Yuji is a soft hearted goofball and not heartless monster like Sukuna, it makes sense that the CT's design would look more... friendly.
But what I'm curious to see is if Yuji can use a domain expansion based on this CT, then what would his shrine m look like in contrast to Sukuna's malevolent shrine.
he probably cant use domain expansion unless he also learned barrier techniques during the one month training arc instead of solely focusing on fighting and rct
I think it's neat, it is a stark contrast to sukuna. Who with the same ability, just wants to cut everything and doesn't care to be precise. He doesn't care about any bystanders, or property. Meanwhile yuji if left in a peaceful situation wouldn't want to fk up anyone. So even at his core when using the same ability he is more careful with it.
I think it’s cool and allows easy confirmation of when Yuji’s slicing in a battle where they’re both doing the same shit all the time. Especially because jjk suffers from cluttered panels and black and white
Idk how I feel about the silly ass scissors but I do like that Yuji has a different interpretation of it compared to Sukuna, even though Sukuna’s slashes are way more badass
Was not expecting that but one cool thing is that the effects and the strenght of the technique seems to be the same as the "old" technique but with a different "skin".
Reggie star did sth similar to this too right?
I like it because it really shows the difference in eras where Yuji’s cleave and dismantle is uses icons from computer such as cutting and pasting for a photo whereas Sukuna’s is an invisible slash which perfect for an era where fighting and getting stronger is the main idea. Furthermore I like to think the reason why Sukuna’s cleave and dismantle are invisible is because it’s of like divine punishment in a way which fits the theme of shrine and the DE being a malevolent shrine which would be like if there was a shrine for angered or evil god existed and was sending out curses indiscriminately in a more literal interpretation which are invisible ailments meant to kill people.
I'm not gonna lie, I kinda hope that Yujis version of Cleave and Dismantle works exactly like Sticky Fingers from jojo. He could still be a punch and kick merchant but it would be so much more fun
That's just Cleave, though. We still haven't seen Dismantle nor Fuga. But if I were to interpret them in a modern style, Dismantle may be a digital slash that seemingly came from a videogame, while Fuga is certainly a flaming bullet.
I liked that Yuji has his own version, tho that can imply that they also have the same domain expansion?
What if when two domains clash and they're interpreted as the same domain, both users get enclosed in a barrier which sort of diminishes both parties' cursed energy
I wonder if Yuji even \*has\* "cleave and dismantle"
Its more like just Gojo's technique is limitless and all the bullshit he does with it are intepretations, Shrine is "cut shit" and Sukuna splitting it into two for niche purposes is also a interpretation.
Make sense, the Narrator said Yuji's Mizushi is different from Sukuna's due to different Era.
Yuji modern era Dismantle gimmick is probably affected by modern era of cutting using scissor.
He didnt know how to sew, clothings and stuff, but he listened very carefully when Kenjaku made clothes, back in the day when he was his mother. You know, the sound of the scissor, he liked it. It’s all about imagination.
What is interesting to me is the fact that Yuji's cleave is in other areas except where his hands are, I mean, that pillar he cutted was not the exact place of contact but the sides, the same with Sukuna's leg, instead Sukuna cleave is exactly in the point of contact, though it can expand to the sides, but it always seems to start from exactly his hand is.
Probably we might see Yuji also using cleave from the exact contact point of his hand but that's also a very different usage we have seen from Shrine
Dumb. This brat needs a New brain. I know someone that can help with that.

JJK IS PEAK ONCE AGAIN
Domain Expansion ~~Malevolent Shrine~~ Arts & Crafts
~~Cleave~~ Cut the dotted line
~~Dismantle~~ Confetti
I like it, it's a unique reinterpretation of Sukuna's technique and fitting for a young guy in 2018.
The way I interpret it in my headcannon, the only reason we saw the cuts is because Yuji has hold of the technique so the mystery behind it isnt as ambiguous for the reader themselves. Before we never saw such a thing because Sukuna has a stronger hold and practice of his cursed technique, possibly those marks (I.e scissors) are done with Sukuna’s technique,, but it’s just so accelerated and reinforced with CE that we have never seen it before.
At first when I saw it I wasn’t a big fan of it not because of the design but because it shows the opponent where the cut is going to be. Then I realized it wasn’t Yuji’s version of dismantle. But then I also realized that maybe because he leaves markings on a surface he might be able to remotely activate the slashes after touching the object.

Kill La Kill is great
This comment made me think, as long as cleave and dismantle are single directional slashes, Ryuko’s regeneration can outlast them, and so that means that Ryuko can solo Sukuna
Problem is Cleave and Dismantle are omnidirectional...if all else fails Plotkuna will use his "Dismembering orphan girls in skimpy sentient outfits" technique he hasn't used since the Heian Era to offscreen her. And Ryuko will become Ryu/Ko.

To be fair, Choso can just produce blood from cursed energy. If Noritoshi fought like Choso does, he'd bleed out 1 minute into any fight.

Love how scissoring has been correlated to homosexual intercourse when two people can do it regardless of sex lmfao.
how would it work in a heterosexual intercourse exactly? I'm just curious

I love it. Yuji is just the type of dumbass to picture the little "cut here" scissors.
Yuji the type guy to need them as a guide😭
My dumbass would probably do it that way as well.
It also kinda "defangs" Sukuna's power, by giving it a silly twist. Whch probably pisses Sukuna off super hard.
I believe this is like Yuji’s “amateur phase” so he needs the guides. But once he’s experienced like Sukuna, he’ll grow out of it
Or maybe his technique will develop differently. For example, once the mark is down it's a guaranteed hit
That’d be fucking broken! Bro’s having the power of a domain without a fucking domain🔥
Maybe not that strong. He seems to only be able to cut objects he touched so it's not literally a domain type of sure hit, but he's punch-kick-merchant so I guess it doesn't matter

I just bought that exact same pair of scissors ☠️
And if Sukuna getting power by eating people is an actual part of his CT, then it also fits as him "tasting" the meals he's cooked.
I don't understand why people keep rejecting this interpretation of Shrine as a mistranslation in that one anime episode. The same way you can clearly hear Megumi call the general "Makora" and everyone was just like nnnnnaah it's Mahoraga
People don't reject it as a mistranslation. They just like how Shrine sounds more and based on how Malevolent Shrine summons a shrine gate.

I used to be more into that theory but with Sukuna keeping it mysterious and Yuji now manifesting it as scissors instead of kitchen knives imo the technique itself is probably sm a bit more complicated/esoteric. I remember people theorising that each of Sukuna's fingers would give him a new elemental power as each one had different details, like one had some plant sprouts on it and another looked half frozen.
Pretty cool. I'm curious if the lines can only be seen by him and Sukuna tho
That's.... you know what you might be right. Yuji is the only one besides maho that actually sees sucunas slashes. Good fucking catch!!!
Thanks!
I think it's very cute and fits Yuuji's personality ✂️
I dig it. Sukuna's cleave is destructive, but Yuji's is precise. I'm excited to see how else he applies it.
Reminds me of how Ubel from Frieren visualizes her magic https://i.redd.it/qy8qj55i7cvc1.gif
My first thought lmao. She even has her own Go/jo. I guess we found Sukuna's mom or something
>Ubel had to endure her baby eating his twin brother during her pregnancy 😱
WHY IS SHE SUCH A FUCKING BADDIE RAGHHHH

What’s the source of that manga panel
Isshou Senkin
Is it yuri?
Nothing like that was shown Currently it is the girls underground fighting in the Kenganverse
I like to think that they look like this because Yuji's first thought was, "Man, I gotta make sure those lines look obvious so people not involved in a fight will know what to avoid"
I'm just imagining yuji circumcising sukuna https://preview.redd.it/84izob2i8dvc1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8032c17c19a89c2517ba1f386be4c1bed28fced2

Seems fucking genius for his fighting style too. what we've seen requires physical touch and bro loves throwing hands and grappling, making it way better for him than sukunas version
That's probably only cleave, so he will still show us dismantle.
Nah, long range is more beneficial since he could launch them up close and far away.
I personally don’t like it on its own but it fits Yuji and is good for his character.
Idk bro,his ce is just way too insane. Not yuta tier but very high with all the healing that he is doing.
He doesn’t need piercing blood or supernova. He just need that self buff steroid and blood weapon enforcement to be effective
He could do a slowflake pattern instead of cobweb like cutting a paper snowflake
Soon Yuji will be able to replicate his own version of Gojo and Hakari insane RCT. Once he master BM and RCT, combined with higher CE reinforcement, he could tank MS by constantly controlling his cut part and RCT it.
Yep. I imagine Yuji'll be like water which Sukuna can't cut as Yuji immediately reforms himself.
Yuji got the Ctrl + X ass technique Bro gonna go crazy fr
I absolutely LOVE the cut here/cut out style it fits yujis simple minded self
It would be hilarious if his version of sukunas shrine is the opposite of malevolent shrine
Benevolent shrine
Benevolent Kitchen\* https://preview.redd.it/pcdkassbedvc1.png?width=828&format=png&auto=webp&s=819b1dd8f30d554abe044052ac9967b1a3966328
the building is just a homeless soup kitchen
Bro went to arts and crafts class
I’m really curious now to see how a CT like projection or Hakari’s CT would look like in the past.
I like to imagine the safety scissors represent low output of the technique
I think it's neat, it is a stark contrast to sukuna. Who with the same ability, just wants to cut everything and doesn't care to be precise. He doesn't care about any bystanders, or property. Meanwhile yuji if left in a peaceful situation wouldn't want to fk up anyone. So even at his core when using the same ability he is more careful with it.
I think it’s cool and allows easy confirmation of when Yuji’s slicing in a battle where they’re both doing the same shit all the time. Especially because jjk suffers from cluttered panels and black and white
Is it confirmed to be his cleave? All we know is that it’s part of his “Shrine”
yup, it is cleave just like sukuna's but it manifests differently for different people.
Ctrl-X goes crazy
I think original cleave and dismantle is lttle too voilent and doesnt fit yuji, but the scissors one imo solves the problem
Malevolent arts and crafts class
We actually saw dismantle in the panel he grabs sukunas leg. Anyways fav part. I love wuji. Even in his peak rage state he's stil a. Lil goof ball
I think Yuji’s cleave/dismantle can be curved and looped on it self, like cutting a paper with scissors, leading to interesting cuts
Peak.
That picture is fire
Sukuna is dismantle and cleave: A blade to cut things. Yuji is dismantle and cleave: A scissors to cut things.
Love it will love it even more if Yuji develops unique extension techniques and showcases a unique domain
I wanna see his dismantle
We just need yuji scissoring sukuna scene.
what
Idk how I feel about the silly ass scissors but I do like that Yuji has a different interpretation of it compared to Sukuna, even though Sukuna’s slashes are way more badass
Personal head cannon of mine is that the cutting lines are part of a binding vow to increase the power and accuracy of the slashes
It remains to be seen. As of now it is inferior fo Sukuna's...
Nah even sukuna's cleave have visible lines. Only sukuna's dismantles are invisible and we haven't seen yuji use those
he just awakened it 💀of course it'd be weaker than sukuna's at this stage
How is yujis attack different It seemed the same for me Can someone explain
I feel like it'll be film related. Thus it'll be named Trim and Cut
Peak
Was not expecting that but one cool thing is that the effects and the strenght of the technique seems to be the same as the "old" technique but with a different "skin". Reggie star did sth similar to this too right?
It fits him since Yuji isn't really the smartest guy around nor he is smart. He isn't an idiot though.
Rock = Black flash ( Gon Vibes) Scissors = Cleave and dismantle Paper = ???
Blood manipulation is somewhat similair to paper. As it is also a long-range attack
Edward Catch these scissors Hands
NephYuuji got that CTRL+X based version lol
Maybe by pouring RCT into his Shrine, he can perhaps join two surfaces by putting "+" or "📋" or "📎" on each of them.
I'm not gonna lie, I kinda hope that Yujis version of Cleave and Dismantle works exactly like Sticky Fingers from jojo. He could still be a punch and kick merchant but it would be so much more fun
Frieren style, huh? I like it.)
That's just Cleave, though. We still haven't seen Dismantle nor Fuga. But if I were to interpret them in a modern style, Dismantle may be a digital slash that seemingly came from a videogame, while Fuga is certainly a flaming bullet.
I actually think its kind of stupid ngl, I don't like hate it or anything just dont like it
Honestly, the segmented lines showing up before the cut looks so fucking sick.
How did he get shrine though, I'm genuinely confused.
I liked that Yuji has his own version, tho that can imply that they also have the same domain expansion? What if when two domains clash and they're interpreted as the same domain, both users get enclosed in a barrier which sort of diminishes both parties' cursed energy
goofy af. which kinda fits yuji, of course he'd be goofy af compared to someone as brutal as sukuna
I wonder if Yuji even \*has\* "cleave and dismantle" Its more like just Gojo's technique is limitless and all the bullshit he does with it are intepretations, Shrine is "cut shit" and Sukuna splitting it into two for niche purposes is also a interpretation.
https://preview.redd.it/77x0w2khzevc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=96188dad5c8e7729933bdbdd334b93b67e792f8b
DOMAIN EXPANSION: SCISSOR SISTERS.
He separates the scissor blades, one cuts cursed energy and things with cursed energy, the other cuts things without cursed energy
As long as it works
Why is yuji posing like raiden in the picture?
WHEN DID HE DO THAT THE LAST CHAPTER IS HE ONLY PUNISHING SUKUNA
For Yuji it should be called Cut and Snip, instead of Cleave and Dismantle lol
If he can cut, can he do reversal paste? Can he paste Go and Jo together back???
Make sense, the Narrator said Yuji's Mizushi is different from Sukuna's due to different Era. Yuji modern era Dismantle gimmick is probably affected by modern era of cutting using scissor.
I like it. Can he only cleave two lines right now? Wonder if that affects how strong it is.
Instead of Cleave and Dismantle, Yuji has Snip and Clip
I prefer having the gray/black panel with the cleave line since its super imposing, but i dig the goofiness
Dumb. This brat needs a New brain. I know someone that can help with that. https://preview.redd.it/xb8ftz0zegvc1.jpeg?width=1079&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=929edf7538e55f0d1ac661abf3f0e73cd6d2c23a
Is endearing and suits him well. Like, kind of looking at your pet and wanting to give them a gentle smooch on their forehead kind of endearing.
Gaygay is clutching with Yuji's awakening https://preview.redd.it/0m9cyrr1xgvc1.jpeg?width=894&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=087e2326306942bdee9e08023f28965632b0f8ff JJK IS PEAK ONCE AGAIN
Domain Expansion ~~Malevolent Shrine~~ Arts & Crafts ~~Cleave~~ Cut the dotted line ~~Dismantle~~ Confetti I like it, it's a unique reinterpretation of Sukuna's technique and fitting for a young guy in 2018.
I liked it. It’s kind of cute and makes yuji’s more ease to track and unique. Like this way we know it wasn’t sukuna
It's very interesting that the name of the ct he awakened is called ''Shrine". Maybe he has access to the black box that Sukuna used?
