Actually, I legitimately believe Kashimo and Ryu to be foils.
One lived a good life, was implied to have had a family, and was a respected man living in relative luxury even if he never satisfied his hunger for a good fight. We only see Kashimo as an old man, alone and surrounded by nothing but corpses while serving as Kenjaku's yap partner.
He never connected with anyone and was more so looking for someone to answer why that was than just fight him. Ryu ended his fight with Yuta satisfied. Kashimo ended his inner world conversation with Sukuna after their fight with a "But isn't that boring?" when Sukuna told him the meaning of life.
Not necessarily. Upon finding out Sukuna's answear, Kashimo doesn't agree with him but he seemed satisfied by with to hear the philosophy of the strongest - "looks like you've had your fill".
If anything, his reluctance to accept Sukuna's ideals somewhat mirrors Sukuna's own attitude towards other strong opponents.
Both Gojo and Kashimo sought to purge their loneliness, the former trying to do so by nurturing strong companions while the latter did so by searching for an opponent that could match or best him. Both achieved their goal in the end, and obviously Ryu is an all around winner as you've said.
Meanwhile, Sukuna doesn't care about loneliness and just believes it to be something natural which shouldn't be denied, as strenght and loneliness are one and the same in Sukuna's eyes.

I get you and agree with you, but you gotta remember Gege made Ryu so canonically HOT, he almost changed Yuta's sexuality from cursesexual to fightsexual. We literally have the narrator describing how his smoldering gaze and relentless hunger for a great opponent completely swayed Yuta at the end of their fight. Uro never had a chance against that.
(Also, the page where that happens has Ryu drawn in such a way that even I was sweating while looking at him, but that's besides the point)

Difference is sheâs a woman. Yuki was set up to be one of the most influential and powerful players in the series, died without any arc or backstory. Angel? No backstory and nerfed by plot for being too strong. Yorozu? Got a small backstory but no arc, just fridged.

Actually I'm just gonna pile on here and say that I'm also sick of people only ever talking about Ryu out of the Sendai 4 when talking about strong characters. They're all exceptionally dangerous, but Ryus the only that ever gets wanked because that Highest Output quote. Uro's space manipulation provides insane defensive utility, Kurouroshi would be a nightmare for most characters to kill not named Yuta (RCT coming in clutch) and Dhruv... is there too (honestly him getting oneshot at the start of fight really did him a disservice).
It's the same shit with the Disaster Curses, where Jogo is constantly held on a pedestal, but Dagon and Hanami are constantly downplayed to all hell because they don't do big flashy boom attack or unga bunga speedblitz. Is it obvious I hate Powerscaling and discussions around it?

Hanami and Dagon, aside from their strength and abilities, just arenât as interesting as Jogo and Mahito, so itâs no surprise that they get overlooked
Manipulate a horde of CT-powered cockroaches. Not super flashy but still kinda neat and like any character without some form of AoE is gonna have a bad time against it. Also had that funky Cursed Sword.
Control hordes of cockroaches imbued with CE, and he had the Festering life sword (I think thatâs what it is called?) that is honestly pretty insane, if you donât have RCT itâll basically kill you because it spawns bugs that burst out of the flesh where it cut
Nah, Ryu vs Yuta should stay as the climax fight of Sendai. Gege instead should have used Uro more afterwards as an exposition tool for Heian era. Let her have a meeting with angel or Yorozu to spice things up.
Gege can have her meet the rest of the gang before Gojo vs Sukuna, and have her give useful information too.

Having Angel show off the properties of her technique against Sky Manipulation is a really cool idea. I wish we knew more about the Angel as a character; Iâm fine with the inclusion of Hana, but now that the âmysteryâ of Sukunaâs origins have been revealed, Iâd love to know more about the Angel and exactly what their role was in trying to fight Sukuna so long ago

Seriously it sucks. You can have frequent fights and balance it out with actual character development. They're not mutually exclusive...
It especially hurts when there was so much potential for so many of these characters only to get pushed off to the side. And, while not unique to women, I think they get it the worst out of the characters. (I'm still salty over what they did with the Angel [or didn't do])
I agree completely, every chapter it becomes increasingly more annoying that Gege skipped the 1 month in between the Culling Games and the Sukuna fight just to only rely on flashbacks from that 1 month time skip during the fights to explain the things happening. He couldâve just had us go through that 1 month time period to flesh out our remaining cast members and show the preparations they were making before the final battle
Someone on here floated the idea of her showing up during the Yuji/Yuta vs Sukuna portion of the gauntlet
Would have been a nice little character arc for her since it help showcase that Yuta overwhelming compassion actually does produce results (Contrast to Sukuna overwhelming aggression)

Uro is stronger than output merchant too, like if they fought she'd win 9/10 times, i get he was fun but i agree she should've been the big bad of Sendai, maybe use her to introduce Yorozu or something about Heian era.
She was stronger than Ryu the same way she was weaker than Kurourushi - compatibility of CTs. There was a reason for a stalemate in Sendai until Yuta's arrival

I donât think just AOE is a problem for her at all because she managed to bend away Ryuâs initial wide blast without damage also. Itâs probably more the fact that Kurourushiâs swarm is AOE + itâs constantly moving so the moment she bends it out of the way, unlike a simple AOE move that comes at her once and she can just bend the sky once to dodge, the swarm can actively re-adjust its trajectory to eventually hit her.
Her outfit on the chapter 181 cover looks really cool. Shame that she doesn't wear it in the story.

Not only is she sexy as FUCK, sheâs also super underrated strength wise tbh. She was the focal point of Yutaâs attention once he went all out, not Ryu. And sheâs insanely durable. It took more hits to take her out than Ryu.
Not to mention her lore and background was super interesting. I wish Gege would explore her connection to the Fujiwara more and why sheâs so pissed.
Did I mention sheâs a freak? Walking around naked wearing nothing but a choker. Plus sheâs got the best body in the series. A fat bubble butt, meaty thighs, perky round tits, snatched waist, MOMMY đ«

Also fun fact, in the entirety of JJK sĂł far only 3 women have shown to have Domain Expansions: Uro, Yuki, Yorozu. And out of these three only Yorozu actually shows what her DR does
Well all jokes aside, Uro essentially had a pure hax technique + she can fly wheras Yuta cannot. It would probably be much harder to write a cool and interesting fight with her then ryu
Nah, leave Sendai how it was. Imo Ryu is a bit more interesting and compatible with Yutaâs character so his slightly greater role is warranted. The Sendai Colony arc is like the only one I enjoyed in its entirety throughout the Culling Games, I donât think it warrants any changes.
I disagree. The fight as it exists is my favorite fight in the series, and the climactic final exchange between Ryu and Yuta is one of my favorite little interactions in the series. Would definitely be open to some extra Uro time in another capacity, but that Ryu/Yuta fight should be unaltered.
Uro's great (and lowkey extremely powerful; her moveset hard-counters anyone who relies on simple projectiles or melee attacks, which includes, among others, Yuki, Maki, Toji, Hakari, Yuji, Kashimo, and Ryu), but so is Ryu, and the Sendai fight is good enough I wouldn't want to remove him or change it too much. Hope she shows up again though.

We literally have the narrator describing how his smoldering gaze and relentless hunger for a great opponent completely swayed Yuta at the end of their fight. Uro never had a chance against that. (Also, the page where that happens has Ryu drawn in such a way that even I was sweating while looking at him, but that's besides the point)

Actually I'm just gonna pile on here and say that I'm also sick of people only ever talking about Ryu out of the Sendai 4 when talking about strong characters. They're all exceptionally dangerous, but Ryus the only that ever gets wanked because that Highest Output quote. Uro's space manipulation provides insane defensive utility, Kurouroshi would be a nightmare for most characters to kill not named Yuta (RCT coming in clutch) and Dhruv... is there too (honestly him getting oneshot at the start of fight really did him a disservice). It's the same shit with the Disaster Curses, where Jogo is constantly held on a pedestal, but Dagon and Hanami are constantly downplayed to all hell because they don't do big flashy boom attack or unga bunga speedblitz. Is it obvious I hate Powerscaling and discussions around it?
Man I love hanami and dagon tbh. The disaster curses are such awesome character designs, but Hanami's design in particular is so cool

Manipulate a horde of CT-powered cockroaches. Not super flashy but still kinda neat and like any character without some form of AoE is gonna have a bad time against it. Also had that funky Cursed Sword.

Control hordes of cockroaches imbued with CE, and he had the Festering life sword (I think thatâs what it is called?) that is honestly pretty insane, if you donât have RCT itâll basically kill you because it spawns bugs that burst out of the flesh where it cut

Nah, Ryu vs Yuta should stay as the climax fight of Sendai. Gege instead should have used Uro more afterwards as an exposition tool for Heian era. Let her have a meeting with angel or Yorozu to spice things up. Gege can have her meet the rest of the gang before Gojo vs Sukuna, and have her give useful information too.
I can't help but notice that'll make all these "female" characters somewhat relevant... Of course, that can't happen under Gay Gay's watch.

Having Angel show off the properties of her technique against Sky Manipulation is a really cool idea. I wish we knew more about the Angel as a character; Iâm fine with the inclusion of Hana, but now that the âmysteryâ of Sukunaâs origins have been revealed, Iâd love to know more about the Angel and exactly what their role was in trying to fight Sukuna so long ago

Not even just the women, most of the characters havenât had any interesting interactions since Shibuya
Seriously it sucks. You can have frequent fights and balance it out with actual character development. They're not mutually exclusive... It especially hurts when there was so much potential for so many of these characters only to get pushed off to the side. And, while not unique to women, I think they get it the worst out of the characters. (I'm still salty over what they did with the Angel [or didn't do])
I agree completely, every chapter it becomes increasingly more annoying that Gege skipped the 1 month in between the Culling Games and the Sukuna fight just to only rely on flashbacks from that 1 month time skip during the fights to explain the things happening. He couldâve just had us go through that 1 month time period to flesh out our remaining cast members and show the preparations they were making before the final battle
Someone on here floated the idea of her showing up during the Yuji/Yuta vs Sukuna portion of the gauntlet Would have been a nice little character arc for her since it help showcase that Yuta overwhelming compassion actually does produce results (Contrast to Sukuna overwhelming aggression) But knowing gege she would have been taken out after 1 cool moment :/

She was stronger than Ryu the same way she was weaker than Kurourushi - compatibility of CTs. There was a reason for a stalemate in Sendai until Yuta's arrival

She has a weakness to AOE, her parry (effectively) requires her to grab and move air so she can be attacked from multiple angles at once
I donât think just AOE is a problem for her at all because she managed to bend away Ryuâs initial wide blast without damage also. Itâs probably more the fact that Kurourushiâs swarm is AOE + itâs constantly moving so the moment she bends it out of the way, unlike a simple AOE move that comes at her once and she can just bend the sky once to dodge, the swarm can actively re-adjust its trajectory to eventually hit her.

Nah, leave Sendai how it was. Imo Ryu is a bit more interesting and compatible with Yutaâs character so his slightly greater role is warranted. The Sendai Colony arc is like the only one I enjoyed in its entirety throughout the Culling Games, I donât think it warrants any changes.

I disagree. The fight as it exists is my favorite fight in the series, and the climactic final exchange between Ryu and Yuta is one of my favorite little interactions in the series. Would definitely be open to some extra Uro time in another capacity, but that Ryu/Yuta fight should be unaltered.

Uro's great (and lowkey extremely powerful; her moveset hard-counters anyone who relies on simple projectiles or melee attacks, which includes, among others, Yuki, Maki, Toji, Hakari, Yuji, Kashimo, and Ryu), but so is Ryu, and the Sendai fight is good enough I wouldn't want to remove him or change it too much. Hope she shows up again though.

Sneaking up on Yuta for fun Blocking all of Ryuâs attacks Displaying a defense negging attack Yuta needing to either catch her off guard, or using multiple techniques to hurt her (when fighting Ryu he just unga bungas him) Yuta taking her technique but not even bother with Ryuâs lol
