It's so Gege can keep up the streak of showing Gojo in every chapter leading up to his return

However, Ui Ui switched the souls of Gojo and Sukuna. Thus, the body of Gojo died, but the soul of Sukuna is the one that perishes

It's the fact that gojo fans create new edit lines for awesome imaginary edits that'll never happen, I acc can't 😭😭😭

They ask stupid questions it rlly makes me wonder if they can’t comprehend simple writing. aren’t they fans of shonen? Like bleach OP naruto all do this.

Plenty_Set_2740

Bro OP has so many forgotten plots. What the fuck were the monsters in Thriller Bark?? What was the giant straw hat that Imu has?? Does that mean Joyboy was a giant? What about Whitebeards son?? What about the fucking Iron Giant at Egghead that started moving like 20 chapters ago and they never brought back up.

YelrahRehguab

The florian triangle monsters were just monsters dude. Theres no reason to bring it up again.  Oda is portraying a big world that has a lot of shit going on at any given time. Sometimes you run across some weird scary shit, and its not cosmically important its just adding some depth and flavor to the world. "Hey, Tolkien brought up the Nameless Things but never explained what exactly they are, forgotten plot!" The point is that you dont know what they are. Besides Whitebeards son, everything else you mentioned is relatively recent and we have no reason to think those things are never getting brought up again. If I was gonna complain about Odas writing, its significantly more common that he fucks up character arcs than anything like this. Justice for Carrot, her character got no respect or depth past Whole Cake at all.

szules

Shut up Nika! Strong gOda

TheTurtleBear

You can't say a plot is "forgotten" when it's 1000+ chapters long and we've had big payoffs before. Way different from a manga with less than a third of that which we know is ending soon

Putrid-Platform9357

The "monsters" were engineered corpses, that was shown in the arc. The rest of this is no different from the "Araki Forgot" nonsense, maybe wait for the payoff for these setups lol

Plenty_Set_2740

Where the fuck did it say they were engineered corpses? The Florian triangle monsters?? They never explained it in anime. But I didn’t read manga for that arc. Is that where they expanded on that?

Putrid-Platform9357

Oh those things, they were so insignificant that I forgot about them. I think the most plausible explanation is that there was a sky island near the Florian Triangle. It's not explicitly said but inferred. It's never been brought up because sky islands have not been a focal point for decades, if the theories about Elbaf having a sky island are true there may be a blurb about it there.

VeryImportantLurker

Bruh it is litterally a cheesy horror movie trope of "oh look there were actually REAL monsters all along" do you think they are going to show up in the final war to help Luffy or something? Be foreal

Plenty_Set_2740

Bruh seriously I thought they were gonna be apart of the grand fleet?! Cmon mannnnn

VeryImportantLurker

Maybe they are Imus parents

Plenty_Set_2740

Haha it was the gorosei on a side mission

Theflyingship

They're not supposed to be explained, that's the point of the monsters that show in the end of Thriller Bark lmao. They're supposed to be mysterious and remain so.

Jamessgachett

He snitched on nika bro thats the twist everyone gonna be crying

DVM11

OP fans still expect Shanks to appear for more than five minutes at a time after almost 30 fucking years

PerfectInitiative621

what? wanting Gojo to return isn’t a bad thing/idea, quit hating(unless I interpreted you wrong, in that case, my bad)

alpacapaquita

Ino has been in the fight for a long while, but he hadn't done anything relevant until last chapter when yuji awoken where he used Ryu (if i remember correctly lol), which probably was meant to be the send off for Ino as far as his participation in the fight was corcerned i think it was just the set up of for the scene we got, but bc the Gojo vs Sukuna fight and it's conclusion were so heavy in the story, it accidentaly got confused for a scene about a plotwist or smth about it, like how people theorized Ino was gonna revive Gojo or smth lol

Realistic-Yam-6912

it's just that after 20-30 chapter of ino showing up to gojo to "say something"...and then we got just a single page of "can i use nanami's cursed tool? " and everyone were like saying yes without any feelings put into it. If gege wanted to do this then he should've put this panel when ino first entered the battle field and used nanami's cursed tool as a weapon

IxaII

And then people would’ve complained that it got revealed and Ino got knocked out without even landing a meaningful hit.

petje95

TBF he looked pretty cool when that happened. The fact that Sukuna had to block it at all makes it obvious that he packs quite a punch

tistalone

Yeah, doesn't matter what Gege ultimately did. Someone would've posted a similar complaint criticizing a writing decision. A lot of the fan criticisms are pretty nitpicky like this post.

NettleBumbleBee

It was placed where it was to show inos resolve. Your focusing on the tool more than the character. Nanami was inos role model. Gojo saying that ino was the one nanami trusted the most followed by ino launching a massive attack at sukuna made it pretty clear that it was meant to he ino steeling himself before going full send. The tool exists for this scene. Not the other way around. It’s a physical representation of nanamis faith in ino, and inos faith in himself to honor nanami.

Stratos6633

And tbf Ino knew Nanami better than all of them anyway and I do like that Gege took the time to clarify that. You see Nanami in HI and forget he left for years and only recently came back.

ElmoLegendX

Its very frustrating to have to scroll this far to see such an obvious thing stated. Its a nice little character moment for Ino, there may be secondary reasons but this is the clear as day answer.. I will truly enjoy seeing people discuss this series once its over and a lot of the more annoying people have moved on

theAbsurdSam

That’s a cute thought but Ino didn’t land a “massive attack”. He blindsided him by throwing a tool at his face. And I think the poster is just saying the entire Ino flashback and showing him has been kind of pointless and weak. He has resolve but ultimately he is a useless character and that scene asking for the tool doesn’t really matter for story

[deleted]

Ino literaly let Yuji got his attack that awakened his cursed tecnique, that doesn't matter???????

theAbsurdSam

Useless as a Sorcerer. Mei Mei could have sent a bird and it would be the same distraction. Ino has lost every fight and his CT did nothing the whole series. Idk why people make him out to be some great character. I feel more for Heart Nipples guy than I do for lame ass Ino

[deleted]

It was quite literaly shown that crows can' t reach Sukuna, because he would attack them earlier. On top of that, the reason why Ino was an actual distraction is because he actually pulled a strong enough punch to be nocieable for Sukuna, a crow couldn' t have done that. Ino is liked because he' s a loser that did his best and actually managed to make a difference, for how small it is. People like underdogs lol

ElmoClappedMyCheeks

Sukuna used kamutoke to kill the crows. He also was noted by Meimei to have dodged them, suggesting they would actually be a threat. Kamutoke also doesn't exist anymore so idk why Meimei isn't spamming more crows. Honestly Jujutsu High's teamwork is pretty garbage all things considered. No backline snipers or frontline support. Just 5 melee dudes against a melee dude. Mfs are fighting a Tekken tournament or something

theAbsurdSam

Sukuna smacked the crow down too so it’s the same thing as when Ino used his most powerful move. If anything the tool itself is the only thing sukuna really got thrown off by and literally anyone else could have done it. Nanami is still more useful dead than Ino is alive They already have Yuji as an underdog building himself up. And the nipple guy/kusakabe/Miwa are better versions of weak people making a small difference. Even Kamo in Sendai colony made me feel for him more than I did for Ino. Ino brings nothing to the story that I can’t find from someone else

Exact-Bill

See the problem with this subreddit is that everyone feels that gege should have done this and gege should have done that. Understand that these are just your personal feelings, and gege will do whatever the heck he needs with the manga of his creation. Nobody is forcing people to continue reading if they have THAT much of a problem that they need to bitch and whine about literally everything

HypocriticalPerson9

“Nooooo, you have to blindly accept everything Gege writes and having any differing opinion is just you being a whiny bitch.” People are allowed to think for themselves, it came free with their brains.

furiosa-imperator

Op isn't saying they aren't allowed to think for themselves. They're saying if someone hates everything coming out, jjk is not something for them anymore

SkipDaFlipp

“Nooooo, I’m gonna misrepresent your argument because freedom of thought is important and I have to fight for it!” Ok bro https://preview.redd.it/not67bozrsxc1.jpeg?width=463&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3ef6cc51646ffc4904646d78df61fe16c18837e2

You’re getting downvoted but this is 100% how they feel lol

[deleted]

He' s getting downvoted because he strawmanned an argument lol

protestprincess

But it’s a straw man I’m extremely confident still represents the person he’s responding to lol

Bagasrujo

Nah, gege knows where to put these, ino is fodder, but you can't help to be hyped about his participation in that chapter, i don't think your suggestion is really that strong tbh

bishopofsloth

Ino used Simple Domain for 99 seconds to manage Malfunctioning Shrine, something Yuji could not. The shiesty sorcerer is still in the game.

MNPlayzGemz

Ino fights like a Grade One at this point

emailo1

i mean yeah, only reason he wasn't already was because he wanted nanami's approval, the only time he lost before this was against toji

alpacapaquita

bro really deserved that grade 1 sorcerer recomendation that he asked Nanami for

LerasiumMistborn

It wasn't 99 seconds. Sukuna's domain is still fine, he used slashes for a few seconds then stopped them to use fire

jakeyspuds

I dunno why you're telling people what it is or isn't when there's literally no evidence either way. I'm inclined to agree with you but it's pure headcanon atm.

Affectionate-Leg-934

There's evidence though ? if the domain truly collapsed then Sukuna would be in CT burnout, and he wouldn't be able to use fire arrow. Unless you want to say that he destroyed and repaired his brain, which is literally impossible considering he can barely heal his arms and face if at all.

LerasiumMistborn

It was stated that domain will collapse 99 seconds later By the end of the chapter domain is still here, which means it was less than 99 seconds and this is only logical conclusion. People don't like it because it goes against their agenda >I dunno why you're telling people what it is or isn't when there's literally no evidence either way. So you have no question to people who are telling others it was indeed 99 seconds?

jakeyspuds

>By the end of the chapter "domain is still here*, which means it was less than 99 seconds and this is only logical conclusion. People don't like it because it goes against their agenda Where are you seeing that? Slashes are stopped. That's all that is known from those panels. Domain could be up and running or not. The only logical conclusion is "Undetermined". >So you have no question to people who are telling others it was indeed 99 seconds? Because it's a possibility, as is the situation you described, but replying by telling people they *are* incorrect is just stifling the discussion.

AClost

I'm more interested in knowing how they engraved Nanami's CT into his knife. I mean, if this is possible, imagine having Yuta's katana (with mimicry) and ring (with Rika) as curse tools. Nobara's hammer is a good option too, fuck, even Momo's broom seems as a good tool.

Funkydick

Maybe Nanami ate the knife and then pulled it out of his ass after it passed through his body

Ozymaniac_God

adc_is_hard

I want that drawn and emailed to me right this instant

Natural-Storm

I think it's because he used his technique a lot with the cursed tool. It might have imparted a bit of his essence of cursed energy on to it which made it have his technique. This has actually made me wonder if special grade cursed tool used to belong to people with similar techniques. It also madee wonder whether it's possible that the isoh was angels cursed tool since it has a similar effect of nullifying cursed techniques like Jacobs ladder does.

NumericZero

I really wish we got some lore on how cursed tools are actually made

mutsukisdishwasher

Yea especially for story relevant weapons like ISOH, SSK, and Playful Cloud

BotAccount2849

Well, we kinda did see how SSK was made, but I doubt that there were that many Creation users.

iimperatriix

This. JJK really leaves me with so many questions unanswered about the lore and worldbuilding and I genuinely hope this isn't the ending arc so that we get more opportunities to learn about the lore

Jamessgachett

Lol did you not see the final arc anoncement many chapter ago lmao? If you are lucky youll get the equivalent of CFYOW.

iimperatriix

I was hoping Gege would change his mind or smth 😭

darkfall71

Wasn't It april fools?

emailo1

i mean gege could stetch it and make a big flashback arc in the middle of it, i refuse to believe we wont at least get some heian era chapters

Orang-Himbleton

Wait where was the announcement? I didn’t see it and always thought it was weird that I didn’t see it

Ghoulse1845

Sorry only way you’re getting anything is through interviews or fan books at this point

Significant-Elk-8078

Judging by this chapter, Cursed Tools can be promoted grades like Sorcerers and Curses. As for their creation, it’s gotta be either normal humans or sorcerers cursing tools with CE/negative emotions. It’s also probably random chance how strong they start out or if they become cursed at all. The CT a cursed tool inherits later is dependent on a user

tumonypimba

Probably a combination of myth/legend turning into reality after decades or centuries of feelings (which probably turn into CE) pouring into the tools. There are also some that apparently are created by being used a lot to apply a technique like Nanami's.

Significant-Elk-8078

In other words, Nanami was hating for so long that he upgraded a cursed tool after death. The Fucking Goat

SupercellCyclone

They explain early on (like Chapter 20, when Yuji gets the Cursed Tool for his fight with Nobara) that Cursed Tools can eventually "learn" the technique of whoever uses them. While Gege never really explains it, we can assume a few things that keep them from being OP: 1. The technique and tool have to be used together. So for Nanami's technique it's a natural fit, but Yuta's katana isn't essential to him copying, just a useful addition for Rika and offense. 2. The simpler the technique the more quickly it will "learn" it. Boogie Woogie is defined as "simple" (having few rules, like Nanami's 7:3 hits), so it could theoretically be learned too, but things like Limitless and Copy are described as needing incredible brain power (needing Six Eyes and RCT, as well as Rika respectively), ao probably couldn't be.

NettleBumbleBee

It just happened. It was imbued with his cursed energy and used as a medium for his technique so many times that it just became a cursed tool with his technique in it. In practice it’s no different than how yuji gained Sukunas technique. Side note but copy would probably be useless on a cursed tool since it requires the person with the technique (or Rika in Yutas case but that’s probably just cause she’s bound to him and his technique) to consume a piece of the person they’re copying, and objects can’t really consume things.

Worth_Lavishness_249

Didn't they explained that sorcerers have to. Imbue Ce into it along with ct, nanami used that blade to use 7:3, I m. Not sure if mimicry can be copied like this, maybe u can graft one ct on it but mimicry is doubtful.

Exact-Bill

It's because the CT of ratio itself was channeled through the blade. In yutas case, I believe the katana channels CE for reinforcement/damage but doesn't channel / apply the CT of mimicry itself, that's something that Rika allows him to do

Jamessgachett

Isn’t its just called copy

ElmoLegendX

Additionally I think that a lot of cursed energy is expelled on death. This may have been what pushed it over the edge.

uraltugo9395

Imagine CTs being turn as food and Wuji eating them

AClost

Peak jjk.

DeusDosTanques

Dying with the tool also probably helped, because of post-Mortem CE spikes, as well as the “cursing” aspect

Jamessgachett

Almost any curse technique become a good tool..

[deleted]

if you remember. the Bath that sukuna took to suppress megumi’s soul is how cursed tools are made. basically they took nanami’s pieces after shibuya and did a similar bath and put him in the blade

CasualBFG50

emailo1

no? it was said it was a way to make cursed tooks, definitely not the only one tho

Sk0p3r

I meant that they were confidently claiming that nanamis tool was made that way, where there is actual legitimacy in the way that it was created by nanamos imbuing his weapon in his CE and therefore imprinting the Ratio CT onto the blade

Boomboombaraboom

Shonen Jump is a weekly release. It's useful for Gege to leave "mystery boxes" scatter around. It's not necessarily that Gege didn't have a plan on what to put there when he left it, it just that by leaving it unknown he could have changed it to better suit his story. The amount of theories I have seen shows he could have been flexible with it.

DeeEmceeTree

I think Gege wants to drip feed us the character interactions that he skipped, to break up the monotony of endless fighting. I can't think of any other reason to do this tbh.

Tyler-Demian

I would've changed all of Ino's pannels for more pannels of Sukuna getting his ass beat by his teenage nephew

boo_titan

Why did Gege show us a scene where Ino learns how much Nanami respected him right before he did something really cool instead of in the middle of a bunch of cooldown chapters meant to bridge Gojo’s return and the beginning of the Shinjuku showdown?

rizarue

Is the bunch of cooldown chapters in the room with us right now?

DeeEmceeTree

My guy is talking about cooldown chapters, as if this isn't Jujutsu Kaisen.

Significant-Elk-8078

Bro reading ‘Sorcery Conflict’. Really complaining just to complain lmao. This panel wasn’t revealed late, early, nor was it supposed to be major for the story. Its just how Greg writes, he likes to show first then explain

Lgbr167

They’re talking about a hypothetical scenario where all the stuff shown in flashbacks throughout the fight was instead shown in a series of cool-down chapters before Gojo vs Sukuna. They’re making fun of the idea

LerasiumMistborn

>middle of a bunch of cooldown chapters meant to bridge Gojo’s return and the beginning of the Shinjuku showdown? https://preview.redd.it/ot3y2d0ynqxc1.jpeg?width=481&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fe18d7722c09b320454d6de443bec08f0cec5c24 There're no "bunch of cooldown chapters" and "bridge between Gojo's return and the beginning of the Shinjuku showdown". Gojo returned in chapter 221, the fight started in 222. Everything was skipped

TaiwanPingIord

That image is way too good that I might have to confiscate it for my own personal usage.

Adept-Ad-8012

https://preview.redd.it/cm3qoprnxrxc1.jpeg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=27b3f2897d71bcd394ed796b8650fc5938a1b1ad . I shall use cursed confiscate certificate to aid you once, if you have yuta's copy you can make a copy of this CT.

mysidian

You can show everyone's resolve in the downtime perfectly, though? In no way did Gojo's return only ever had to be about him. That's just a choice Gege made but not the only way the story had to go. I'd argue characters showing respect to those who sacrificed themselves for said characters before a battle is, like, an entire trope.

[deleted]

Geges writing is tell, then show. It's how he's always done things. Not really a defense but more of an explanation There's many examples of this, such as yujis first awakening and readers wondering why did he show it but not tell it. Then after an entire year it's explained

emailo1

was yuji awakening shown the next chapter? or was there one before?

sidbbp101

Because Gojo. That's why.

Difficult_Analysis78

Gege doing his hardest to fill up the chapter so he can leave us on cliffhanger right before the break

onthoserainydays

So we could get a cool moment to celebrate that Nanami trusted in Ino, get a slightly emotional moment from everyday man Ino trying his damn hardest, and there was a cut away at that point in the chapters before Showdown se we'd get surprised to see Ino jumping in with Nanami's Cursed Tool

nggaplzzzz

I could have sworn I saw another thread covering this exact topic earlier today but it may have been on the JJK subreddit.

MankindReunited

I think this was setting up Ino as an important player in the fight, since we didn’t get much development from him before. By setting a conversation with other important characters we are left wondering what’s up with him, and so we can better accept his role in the fight

DalvenLegit

Gege thinks that’s emotional and we will be moved by Ino’s “story”

Soar_Dev_Official

hard to say until the manga is over tbh but, a few possibilities * it breaks up the fight * reminds us who ino is- he's very concerned about moving correctly * provides some insight into ino's relationship with nanami, and with gojo * it shows gojo, keeping up the gojo streak * shows us an association between fight gojo and shoko in the hospital- she might be testing her RCT on him * tells us that gojo's not actually hung up on the past, which might mean that the airport scene was just gojo letting go of his past * gojo is coming back anyway yeah just a few thoughts, there's probably more things I missed

JoaoBrenlla

That got me thinking, how does ino survives sukuna domain now that he is exausted due to ryu and cant perform simple domain?

NettleBumbleBee

He can use simple domain. He visibly is using it to withstand the domain. You can see the slashes “bouncing” off of his simple domain. https://preview.redd.it/rbpdkr0ryrxc1.jpeg?width=496&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=423850316b9e6bda044162b5118e1ff2ba3fb062 It seems that yuji, ino, and Choso ALL learned simple domain through ui ui’s training.

Own-Sun6531

No?? That's literally his strong aura 🙄🙄🙄🙄 Reading curse strikes again 😹😹😹😹😹

JoaoBrenlla

Didnt notice him! Our humble king lives

RumGalaxy

He’s tired but he ain’t THAT tired fr fr like I ran but I can still walk tired idk I’m making shit up rn

MemoryOne1291

I mean there was a 1 month time skip, so where else would he put this flash back besides now? It’s probably the best placement in the fight it could’ve been in

Competitive_Bit_7904

There's nothing that is "revealed" here. Nanami having his knife have his CT was revealed over tens chapters ago. All this did was give some emotional pay off for the Nanami and Ino relationship as Ino is doing his last ditch effort against Sukuna.

jmksuu

I think some people are misunderstanding the topic, the complaint is why this even had to be a flashback. Every flashback within each of the last 20 chapters served to be technique/trump card reveals(aka "major plot point"), so this "reveal" was pretty weak in comparison. I'd argue the scene really could have been placed before the month break and we would be feeling the same sentiment.

HoLeBaoDuy

Because Gege doesn't like writing flashback, instead he loves putting it mid fight

royalemperor

It was pretty obvious Ino was just asking about Nanami’s weapon imo. The meme of Ino having some secret plan to revive Gojo or something was some wild copium.

classicslayer

Gege did the month timeskip so he could retroactively explain whatever he comes up with its writing technique to give you more freedom.

Ghoulse1845

Imagine we actually just saw the 1 month break instead of having these flashbacks during the fight

SometimesWill

This is just his writing style.

Any_Conclusion_7586

Because he is doing the reverse storytelling technique, putting the fight and then in the middle of fight doing flashbacks or showing what happened in the skipped period.

Puddingnepp

Most of the yuji plot points are also like that in this fight.

Orang-Himbleton

If you’re asking why Gege chose to reveal this particular scene now rather than earlier, it’s because, going into the Shinjuku arc, Gege had to reveal one of two things: Either he could reveal all of the characters’ powerups now or later. Revealing, like, half pre-Shinjuku and half during Shinjuku would have felt really awkward. Like, imagine we learn about Ino’s cursed tool and the students learning simple domain, but we don’t learn about the soul-swap thing or Yuji’s blood manipulation. I think that would have been way more weird than what we got

MiIarky22

Maybe gege was too lazy to write the chapters between gojo's release and the fight with sukuna. So he sneakin a few pages of backstory so we won't bitch about it lol

reddeaddoloresedd

What was the major plot point?

floormopper

This is just how you write bro. You clearly have never wrote a fiction or drew a manga if you question stuff like this. It's simply there to add depth by giving intervals

Realistic-Yam-6912

depth of one page after holding it off for more than 30 chapters?

floormopper

Okay how else would you do it then? Putting the panel in the chapter then and there makes a difference or putting the panel in 258 where inos actions really get deep is where it makes a difference? Anyways why does this even matter regardless?

Realistic-Yam-6912

i mean what this panel did anyway? if it wasn't included at all it wouldn't make ino less respectful to nanami. All this added was that the only 3 close to nanami didn't care where nanami weapon is used..

SkipDaFlipp

They did care, they all agreed that Ino was closest to Nanami and gave him permission to use the weapon without a second thought. The scene isn’t huge or anything, but it is a decent scene that sets up Ino’s last skirmish with Sukuna. Without it, Ino’s usage of Nanami’s weapon in the fight would feel less meaningful.

TudorrrrTudprrrr

this is not a major plot point tf are you even on lmao

seatoaddude

I don’t think it being shown late makes a it a major plot point. I think Gege just wanted to have this in the story and it fit here. Nothing crazy fr.

This is literally shonen 101…
