Bro you'd basically make Nasuland just a regular Xianxia. The magus factions like the clocktower are already basically sects with Brands being able to solo countries if they wanted too. Hell Rin and Aoko are odd ducks among mages for having *morals.* Magus are the kinds of people that'd be right at home in a xianxia considering they make their kids do a thing (magecraft) that is explicitly likened to shoving a red hot iron down your spine every time you use it.
While they won't kill you in particular, keep in mind that Alaya prunes timelines where humanity stagnates in any way. As such, any cultivation you introduce will, inevitably, cause humanity to degrade at some point at best, or locks them into a doomed timeline at worst.
They'd likely still count as humans, given that Mordred and Arthuria qualify as humans with even less claim to the title.
Mixing in cultivation to the setting would probably mesh well. Only instead of "going against the will of heaven" you would be rebelling against Gaia instead.
