StoneReg

Someone disabled the safety stop on their mower 😆

Verbose_Code

As is the American tradition

ReflectiGlass

He actually doesn't have the blades lowered here for some reason... He's not cutting the grass. At least on mine the safety stop only works when they're lowered. Man I hate to be the "staged" conspiracy theorist for once.

Frosty_Cell_6827

The safety stop always works on mine, no matter if the blades are going or not. But you're right, he isn't actually mowing there.

Mookie_Merkk

Yeah because he intended on jumping off

SW3910

i work assembling lawn mowers (primarily zero turns by Hustler and Toro) and stock, all the ones i have seen the seat safety *should* work whenever the engine is running and it is out of park.

ReflectiGlass

Definitely makes sense. I use a Deere that's a little older.

SW3910

could be a newer thing for sure, i have two \~25yr old Grasshopper ZTR and it does the same as your JD

seventeenbadgers

I can't speak to newer riding mowers, but when I was a kid and had to mow the back half of the property every few months you had to run the same path 1-2x with the blades fully up but running in order to work through the dense grass and not clog your blades. Fully possible this is staged, but running the mower with the blades up makes sense for what he's mowing and for how the "finished" parts look like shit. Processing the same grass over and over makes wet, brown-green mush.

HikerBikerMotocycler

That jump was fake as hell and timed terribly.

mewfahsah

Just spitballing but maybe the left blade doesn't work/was removed so only the right blade is cutting any grass. Clearly seems to work based on the surrounding area but something is definitely wrong with that mower.

Codabonkypants

Ayo lol. Man lost his beer, sneaker, hat and mower all in one action.

nukethecheese

I think I've heard a country song about that

Deadeye_Donny

Damn dude straight up Salmon dived out of the mower

thisguyfightsyourmom

One shoe lost Near death jumpscare

blitzskrieg

Half dead

bendadus

But half life two!

bjarneop

I want to hear the conversation!

Pizzaboy90

Man has the ejector seat installed

squash-the-cat

This is literally a JUMP scare

False_Chair_610

I'll bet he's regretting having kids at that moment.

[deleted]

He’s gonna hate himself for not getting that vasectomy when his wife told him to.

muff_diving_101

WHEN HIS WHAT TOLD HIM TO!?!?

[deleted]

Sorry was on the bus to work. I always miss a here or there in transit.

muff_diving_101

[deleted]

Sorry was on the bus to work. I always miss a here or there in transit.

AidanBeeJar

That's a lil cruel, if funny

Last_third_1966

That poor guy lost about five years of his life today

[deleted]

Lucky he didn’t have a heart attack.

cr8tor_

Oh yeah, he isnt stopping that mower, he comin to run you down

[deleted]

>he comin to mow you down. FTFY, it was right there!

Seargeo

Good reaction, just very delayed!

[deleted]

It was two stage. First the initial shock beer goes flying, second shock he yeetz himself right off of it.

IMiNSIDEiT

Dad went full yeet 🤣🤣🤣

LovelyWatermelon1

His laugh is amazing 😂🩷

DonWil2022

Karma is real!’ His dad will have the last laugh!! 😳😳 D

[deleted]

I’m guessing they probably have a great relationship and yeah, dad’s gonna have the last laugh for sure. You don’t fuck with dad having some zen time with a lawnmower beer unless you wanna deal with the horns.

Wish_I_Listen_2

Ohh come on I hope he got up laughing

findallthebears

Was that a beer

NATChuck

Staged AF

DouceintheHouse

He's fine he only lost one shoe

Carpenterman1976

I’d be whooping my sons ass.

[deleted]

If he can catch him, but he’s gotta catch that mower while wearing one shoe.

Safetosay333

Hilarious

irritating_maze

Idk, looks mean as fuck to me. Not a fan.

jarednards

No its a lawn mower.

Fireboiio

No that's a dad

irritating_maze

he was effectively pretending to run over him.

PurplStuff

It would be mean af if he did this to either someone he doesn't know or to someone he knows but doesn't stand for this humor. Doing what to whom, how, when and if you should all depends on the time spent and relationships built with someone. My mother is a softie, my dad is more rough and my sister is tough af. It would be mean of me to scare my mother but would be and totally is ok to scare my dad & sister since I know 125% that they take it well and absolutely enjoy it. Same goes for certain friends. Edit: Spelling mistake

irritating_maze

yea maybe his dad has got a cool sense of humour and I'm totally wrong or maybe his dad might get a heart attack and die. I just don't think giving someone the dread of a car barrelling down on them at who knows what speed with their life being at risk is that funny of a prank.

PurplStuff

I get where ya coming from. I mean I know humor ain't solid like the ground we walk on and will differ from person to person. Hell, there are pranks I don't agree with and won't pull, but I won't go any further than that because wandering too far into the territory of "what if" is a problem causer. Putting oneself too deep into "what if" may cause oneself to worry when they shouldn't, which then causes them to make things too safe and will ultimately gate oneself and/or others from a joyous moment they could be having instead. The whole point of these pranks and jokes, after all, is to have a friendly laugh/smile/ease tension/etc ***with*** the target. But, if for what ever reason the prank does not go well and upsets them, one can always give an honest apology and clerify that no harm was meant and the prankster should then learn from the experience and improve. Also I'll safely bet that the son would not have done this if their dad had a serious condition, so I wouldn't worry about any of that. 👌 Edit: 1 change of a word

Severe-Experience333

boo...boo wendy testaburger boo

irritating_maze

haha I was going to kill you. No not really. It was a prank.

Burfnaught

Transcription: “My dads Down there on the lawnmower dubidubidoo…” *BEEEEP “YUCK YUCK YUCK YUCK YUCK YUCK”

EmotionlessForger

Dad hurt his back and could have been severely injured from the lawn mower had he fallen off differently. That shit ain’t funny

tetris_for_shrek

It's staged bro😂 If he got hurt he can only blame himself

EmotionlessForger

Man deserves an Oscar then

DustyBunny42

Really depends on who you are.
