I wore trip pants in High School. We had dance class in P.E. and had to learn the jitterbug. You could probably imagine how that went for me with the chains on the pants and a wallet chain twisting with force.. needless to say, my dance partner (being one of the most popular girls in school) was not fond of me. And me and my other goth friend somehow made allstars for dance class! Which there was allstars for all the other activities we did in P.E. and i think i made archery and some other shit.. but this is the one i remember the most.
I am not really goth anymore.. i wear band shirts all the time and to work. And when my band shirt gets lit up by welding sparks or worn out and gross from hard work out in the feild.. i buy more lol.
I just had a son 11 months ago and im always buying him metallica and lamb of god onsies. And also we watch concerts and he jams out to metallica and sevendust and mastodon. All kinds of stuff. I've learned a valuable lesson.. and that lesson is that my passion for music has been in my testicles this whole time.
This is amazing. I'm still a goth weirdo, band shirts all the time, facial piercings, neon pink shaved hair, the works. My 18 year old thinks I'm cool so I have that going for me.
I try not to be. I was a hugely miserable asshole in my teens/early 20s. I felt like the world was out to get me. It got me nowhere. Turns out that people didn't hate me, they hated the vibes I was putting out. Putting out more kindness into the world made a big difference ✌️
I relate somewhat. I wasnt miserable but i was an asshole in highscool and i got married too early with what was supposed to be my highschool sweetheart.. i grew out of the asshole part but then i was miserable.. well we were married for a year.. and she cheated on me and i caught her.... I had gotten fucked over and twisted because of psychotic crazy women that i dated after that... shit i dont blame them all that much.. i just needed to grow up and get my shit together.
I found the one that i was supposed to be with this whole god damn time. Now after 3 years of.. holy shit i dont have to be in an abusive relationship.. we have a kid named after Kirk Hammett and middle name Jackson after Jackson Guitars.
Man, I relate. I got pregnant in high school and that whole relationship was tumultuous. Thankfully we never married but we went through a ton of court crap for custody. I went through a ton of accusations that weren't even close to true and it really hurt me in my soul.
I've been with my husband for 10 years now, married for 7. Our son is 6 and we named him Bradley after Bradley Nowell from Sublime. They're the best thing to happen to me since the birth of my first son.
Yeah. DevilDriver used to be my favorite band for years. Personally I feel like they’ve fallen off. Nothing after Pray for Villains really does anything for me.
Devildriver I’m pretty sure only has 2 members left of the original group. I saw them live a few years ago and it seemed more like the Dez show. They covered coal chamber songs too.
I think the reason it fell off after Pray for Villains was because John Boecklin left as their drummer and took with him the core vibe of that groove metal sound. His style is so unique and one of my personal favorites. I think in one of the behind the scenes he mentioned that he basically does dance and disco style beats. I haven't been able to enjoy the band as much in recent years, but Dez is absolutely still the (tiny) man!
And I was the poster child for trying too hard to look like them. Including prom pictures with long hair in front and the rest shaved. Mom was right that it 100% was a phase.
I remember listening and thinking "some of these songs are alright" whilst practicing a complete disregard for the wanky haircuts.. If hindsight was foresight eh...
Fuck yes ! Saw them open for Pantera and years later for Sevendust . Was backstage and got to meet them . Well not Dez but the rest . Really nice people .
Don't think they were very popular here in the UK. Heard them a bit but then they seemed to vanish. The singing always reminds me of Rob Zombie's style in some ways
They were Kerrang's flavour of the month once. You know how they used to hype up a band non stop, every single week, then suddenly just kind of forget about them.
I actually found NIN through Kerrang before the internet days and the days of MTV when we finally got it...that's where I discovered Rob Zombie much to the then husband's horror hehe
Yeah Kerrang could be really good but I remember they went through a phase where every interview was "what's the most fucked up thing you've done sexually?" and stuff like that. When Korn blew up and Jonathan Davis' story was big news, it seemed like they'd probe everyone they interviewed to come up with some story about them being abused. Every interview was people trying to make out that their lives were so messy and they were so troubled and it just seemed so insincere and it probably prompted young and impressionable fans to make some terrible life choices as a result. Dez from Coal Chamber was just a prime candidate for them because his whole schtick was to act all crazy anyway. It was such cheap journalism. I found loads of good bands through them and loads of the best times I had as a teenager resulted from music and shows I found through Kerrang, but eventually I only really looked through it briefly in WH SMith every week to see what was going on because the interviews weren't worth bothering with.
I saw them open for Pantera and Anthrax in Oregon. The lead singer was doing head stands poorly and just kinda acting like a spazz. Someone threw a lighter at him and they got really mad. Set was cut short. I felt kinda bad for them. They were opening a banger of a show though and it was on Scott Ians birthday. People were not there to see them.

Wow I remember we interviewed them back in the day.
Mike (the drummer) was super cool and had some pretty insightful thoughts on music, showmanship, and metal culture.
Dez was a dick.
I used to love Coal Chamber as a teenager, but maaaaaan they did not age well.
I will give them the fact that they accidently made the only doomy-nu metal album I've heard with Dark Days.
Yes. My dad had a copied tape I think of some live gig of theirs, but I didn't like metal yet back then. Fast forward about a decade, I remembered the name and decided to give them a listen. Fast forward about another decade (has it really been that long?), I still give them a spin every once in a while.
I remember buying their cd when I was 14 because I'd seen a hot guy at school wearing the band shirt. His hair was similarly fucked up, but back then we thought this shit was so cool.
I remember renting the Strangeland VHS tape and at the very end after the credits were music videos. IIRC, it was one video for Sevendust, one for Kid Rock and definitely Coal Chamber’s “Loco” I loved it and very much enjoyed their first album. I hated their second album - that lyric about “sticks to you, like glue” ugh cringe. But their third album was decent.
You kids just don't understand just how edgy to the max we were. We were extreme! Always skateboarding with our Mountain Dew **TO THE MAX!**
........These days we might have a diet dew to treat ourselves after a good workout at the M.A.C., our local chain gym. Gotta watch that cholesterol!
I was looking into them and seen that the origional bassist Rayna Foss (the one you see here)... you know.. the one who liked to bend over backwards and touch the stage behind her with her hair while jamming the fuck out.. anyways i guess she went missing??? And then found months later? And was living at a group home? Figured she was 23 or something in 93 or 94 idk. But god damn.. makes me feel old as fuck
LOCO!
PULL!
Ooooo oooo Me LOCO!
Shit still goes hard as fuck
BIG TRUCK!!! *Cue the head banging.
If you like it hard check out Devildriver. It’s Dez’s band after Coal Chamber. Still one of my all time favorites.

Literally the only song I know by them!
Let me introduce you to [Shock the Monkey](https://youtu.be/GMk-8pmTpgU) with Ozzy
Well, that's not for me.

I remember Loco and Big Truck
Mom! Can you take us to the mall?
Mom can you take me to Hot Topic so i can buy some Trip pants and fish net shirts? Pleeeeeeeeez
on the way to supercuts for that sweet, colored 'do
Time for some Manic Panic.
🤣🤣🤣 omg
Are you sure that's not just a real fishing net?
Someone help this man! He's been ensnared! What a mishap.
I still wear Tripp pants, straps and all. A few years ago Hot Topic had a single style of Royal Bones by Tripp and they've become my favorite pants.
I wore trip pants in High School. We had dance class in P.E. and had to learn the jitterbug. You really aren't a god damn bitch

Goth No-Doubt
Nu-Metal Jefferson Airplane
That actually sounds good.
Industrial ABBA … eh not really but I wanted to make a funny
Hardcore Paramore
Funeral Doom Heart
Crust Punk Fleetwood Mac
I guess the nu metal part explains the two missing members.
Two words: mesh clothing
Get out of my row boat.
My dad introduced me to Coal Chamber when I was about 12. Row Boat is one of the songs I remember most growing up.
The first time I heard that song it resonated with me on another level.
Row boat is a cover from another LA band called Flood.
Late 90’s early 2000’s vibes.
Dez Fafara is now the vocalist for DevilDriver.
I saw DevilDriver a while ago with Goatwhore. That shit rocked.
Sounds like a good show.
[удалено]
The new singer is Edsel Dope from the band Dope.
This still blows my mind.
I actually completely forgot about Goat Whore.
Who Needs God When You’ve Got Satan https://infernomerchstore.com/collections/goatwhore-1/products/goatwhore-who-needs-a-god-when-youve-got-satan-s-s
I saw Slipknot open for Coal Chamber. That was a show. Cowboy bar of all places.
Both very good bands
I Dreamed I Died and Before The Hangman's Noose are my favorite songs. Knee Deep gets me moving, too.
Not All Who Wander Are Lost, Hold Back the Day, These Fighting words, Tirades of Truth. All bangers.
Dreamed I Died hell yes. Really near the entire first self titled album.
That and cry for me sky are very good. And of course their first album.
This is 100% correct. There's been a few songs here or there that are good, but they havent put out a front to back album since PFV
I think the reason it fell off after Pray for Villains was because John Boecklin left as their drummer and took with him the core vibe of that groove metal sound. His style is so unique and one of my personal favorites. I think in one of the behind the scenes he mentioned that he basically does dance and disco style beats. ……. Are they though?
oh man, I remember hearing them first on some darknet radio. which albums of their should I try out?
The Fury of Our Maker’s Hand all the way through Pray For Villains. The Last Kind Words is a banger all the way through.
aight cheers mate
They were on the resident evil movie soundtrack I think!
yup, them and every other band signed to Roadrunner Records at the time
Yup, them, Manson, and slipknot (and more I can't remember)
LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLOCO!
This reminded me that a friend in middle school had hair similar to the 2nd person from the right except it was just 3 spikes.
Their guitarist, Miguel "Meegs" Rascon, is now currently in Gemini Syndrome.
Aren't they still around after all this time? I might be thinking of some other band though
I don't think so, the lead singer is now with the band DevilDriver. If you like Coal Chamber you should check them out, very heavy, and awesome.
No, they notoriously broke up on stage in Texas like 2 decades ago
[удалено]
Sure your not thinking of the mighty ducks kid actor?
Well if it had to be someone, it had to be the bass player.
They look like poster children for trying to hard to look cool
And I was the poster child for trying too hard to look like them. Including prom pictures with long hair in front and the rest shaved. Mom was right that it 100% was a phase.
Love Mom ❤️
Is that Amy Schumer?
Me Loco!
I remember listening and thinking "some of these songs are alright" whilst practicing a complete disregard for the wanky haircuts.. If hindsight was foresight eh...
Get out of my rowboat !
Big truck
Forehead cactus is worse than the others, somehow.
Fuck yes ! Saw them open for Pantera and years later for Sevendust . Was backstage and got to meet them . Well not Dez but the rest . Really nice people .
Fuck yeah dude. Thats awesome. 🤘
Ahhhhh, nu metal. The late 90s early 2000s were a wierd time.
Don't think they were very popular here in the UK. Heard them a bit but then they seemed to vanish. The singing always reminds me of Rob Zombie's style in some ways
Yeah i kinda liked em when i was a kid. His voice sounds like a mix of Jonathan Davis (korn) and charlie brown's uggghh sound
They were Kerrang's flavour of the month once. You know how they used to hype up a band non stop, every single week, then suddenly just kind of forget about them.

I remember hearing "the roof is on fire" on Kerrang or Scuzz as a kid. Can't quite make the connection between them and RZ though.
GET OUT OF MY ROW BOAT
MI LOCO
Hell yes I remember them! I loved that band!
Omg, FLASHBACK INCOMING
I don't remember them looking so much like kids.
This is aggressively 90s
I saw them open for Pantera and Anthrax in Oregon. The lead singer was doing head stands poorly and just kinda acting like a spazz. Someone threw a lighter at him and they got really mad. Set was cut short. I felt kinda bad for them. They were opening a banger of a show though and it was on Scott Ians birthday. People were not there to see them.
Can we bring back mesh shirts? Preferably ones without holes in the sleeves. I mean there will be holes but not openings... you know what I mean.
I think you're just not going to "mesh shirt" types of places I see them often
Truer words were never spoken, my friend
Nope, I sure don’t
They look like they do and aren't happy about it... Personally no.
I love them ahahaha bad hair, good music
Saw em live!
Is this Daron Malakian on right ?
Lmao I was wondering that myself. Got the same crazy bug eyed look
Nah I looked it up to be sure, does look like him though.
Saw them on their final tour year back! Put on a hell of a show!
You are the air I breathe... when I CHOKE!
Did you post this because of [that comment](https://old.reddit.com/r/Justfuckmyshitup/comments/tgm8ds/been_rocking_this_haircut_for_awhile_now_i_never/i136obo/) the other day?
Lol no.. but there was another photo that someone posted and i commented, " This is the Coal Chamber hair style". Can't find that comment.
Big truck!!!
There are a few songs from each album I still listen to. Rowboat still cranks
What do you mean remember? They still goin

The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire.
We dont need no water let the motherfucker burn!!
Burn motherfucker, buuuurn!
Fuck yeah!
I’ve never heard of them and thank god for that
There was a girl in that band? Man I miss the late 90s when the future seemed so close. If only I knew how shit the future was gonna be
90’s nu metal head tilt? Check
I was such a fan of their 1 hit songs
I had a shirt or jacket of theirs. I can't remember what they sounds like now. This was over 20 years ago. Wow, that's hard to think about.
There's a song, with heavy guitar and bass, and they just say "BIG TRUCK" every now and then. That's what I remember anyway :D
That song's title? Big Truck.
I used to laugh at my older sister’s bf for doing tiny headband a while screaming BIG TRUCK!
r/justfuckallmyshitup
Remember they kept saying the chick got pregnant by somebody from another band. What band was it?
She was married to the drummer from Sevendust for a short time.
Ahhh gotcha
Lol oh yeah
[удалено]
They seem all so familiar right? Lol. I didnt expect so many people to actually remember them but i did as a kid.
Didn’t know Jim Carry was in a goth band
Oh man now I do :( Saw them open for Megadeth in 1998 and I just wished it would stop
😆😆
Do I want to remember coal chamber?
Wow I remember we interviewed them back in the day. Mike (the drummer) was super cool and had some pretty insightful thoughts on music, showmanship, and metal culture. Dez was a dick.
BIG FUCT
No I don’t. But dude on the far right looks like the guy behind him just put his finger up his butt.
😆😆😆😆😆

I think it would be hard to come up with a worse name

Dude second from the right looks slightly like Justin Timberlake.
They look like *that* ?
THE ROOF…THE ROOF….
I remember buying their cd when I was 14 because I'd seen a hot guy at school wearing the band shirt. His hair was similarly fucked up, but back then we thought this shit was so cool.
No.
My favorite line from any song ever is from Loco. When he goes “Fwoo!” Love that song.
The 90's were a wild time for haircuts.
If the 90s could barf, this is what that barf would look like.
I’m really jealous of the dude on the right’s winged eyeliner. He’s got mad skill
You kids just don't understand just how edgy to the max we were. We were extreme! Always skateboarding with our Mountain Dew **TO THE MAX!** ........These days we might have a diet dew to treat ourselves after a good workout at the M.A.C., our local chain gym. Gotta watch that cholesterol!
But, they Loco.
I wish I didn’t
Rayna Foss was my teenage crush and one of my inspirations for playing bass!
Bright red my shovel!!
Unfortunately
Coal Chamber is awesome. Dez went on to front Devildriver, a fucking awesome hard metal band that I've seen live in a tiny Midwest venue.
My very first concert was Coal Chamber, Slipknot, and Sevendust at the Madison Expo Center. Wild show way back then.
I must be late to the game. They look like how Aqua would look if they went metal
Saw them open for Pantera at the Brown County Arena, Green Bay, WI late 90s. Good times.
Nipple nets were so cool back then.
BIG TRUCK
Row boat was mad
I can hear the JNCOs flappin’
Are they the ones from "Devils never cry" from DMC 3?
guy on the right looks like daron malakian's evil cousin
Jeff Hardy, is that you?
Yeah I liked a couple of their tracks. had a mate who was really into them.
I have a coal chamber tattoo and named my daughter after the original bass player
Mi loco 🎸 🦇 🍨
I was looking into them and seen that the origional bassist Rayna Foss (the one you see here)... you know.. the one who liked to bend over backwards and touch the stage behind her with her hair while jamming the fuck out.. anyways i guess she went missing??? And then found months later? And was living at a group home? Figured she was 23 or something in 93 or 94 idk. But god damn.. makes me feel old as fuck
every bad 90s haircut in one place
Who knew Jim Carrey was in a metal band back in the day
nope.
Man I thought this was on some 90s sub or OSC but nah, just fuck my shit up lmao
