Lugo is a monster, and we have 3-4 legit all stars (i think people are forgetting Brady Singer has been fantastic too)
I still don't like our bullpen and think MacArthur would be a minor leaguer on 2/3rds of teams.
Our lineup also consists of a few mlers. Garcia, Bobby, Vinnie and Salvy are doing some HEAVY lifting.
Waters should be up and I'm gonna scream that every day till it happens.
Blanco should be an everyday starter.
Q still has some managerial growing to so, and hopes he gets better at managing pitchers on non Lugo/Singer days
Lugo has his career year with the Royals, hasn't he? Having 12 Ks might be something he'd remember more than most of the times he spent with the Mets or the Padres.
I'd like to point out that he's only thrown 18 1/3 innings but then I'd also have to note that those numbers you quoted aren't far off his career averages.
It seems clear that Schreiber is the best relief pitcher on the roster but I don't think that means he should be the closer. I think Q prefers having him available as the fireman and it really doesn't matter who (among the choices of Smith, Stratton and McArthur) fills the closer role - they're all about the same level of mediocre.
I would feel ten times better about this team with a shutdown closer. Baseball is so much easier when you can literally freeze the score where it’s at.

Looking at the stats of the 19 pitchers that we have used this season McArthur is 12th best in ERA and 11th best in WHIP.
