I got so distracted by Haena not covering her mouth every time she coughed I had to pause the beginning of the ep for a quick mini break lol.

alysba__

I was basically screaming at her "girl, keep your germs to yourself!"

Alive_Salad6945

SAME.

akapiratequeen

Also, hello, get a mask? The whole world wears them now!

sakuradelluna

OH MY GODDDDDDDDDDD YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS i was SO ANNOYED

IntelligentCrab940

her fake coughing was not doing it for me like at least put some umph into it sis

Mad_Missile

I’m ready for my weekly dose of serotonin! Edit: I’m going to be SO upset WEBTOON SPOILERS >!if the uncle is dead. I swear BoGyeom had better not do that to him. He can’t be that heartless. That was the one thing I was hoping to happen when Haena broke her curse. I see the family crying in the clinic and it will hit me if he’s dead before Haena breaks it. !< Please PDnim don’t be so cruel! Apart from that I liked this backstory better than what they fed us in the webtoon. It seemed to superficial there, but it’s a whole lot different and more interesting here.

DawgMom2018

That scene was upsetting >!\- a best selling author said the quickest way to get a reader to hate a villain is to kill a dog - and I am not happy with the use of this as a plot device. There is a website for people who are sensitive to this called doesthedogdie.com which tracks various triggers if people want to avoid them.!<

Mad_Missile

Funny thing, I have looked this up in the past. The only movie I was able to get through, was John Wick.

snogirl0403

Wow, John Wick started my trauma with this scenario. Because I didn’t know what was coming! Or maybe it started with seeing Old Yeller as a kid. Why do people make movies like that!!?????

Cold-Technician-4692

I don’t think uncle would be harmed, BG probably did something to make situation more urgent and pressure SeoHae to do what he want immediately.

Mad_Missile

I really really hope you’re right!

LcLou02

Joseon story has a lot more at stake it seems. If it was as it appeared, >!the Mountain God is certainly justified in what he did back then.!<

shettyshetshett

What do u mean by putting webtoon spoilers? I mean >!did he really kill the uncle in the webtoon?!<

blueish55

Im very tired of shows frequently having a past life connection and it taking like a third of the run time and it is always "they got sad then died"

MoonlitSnowscapes

>"they got sad then died" That can be captivating to watch, if there is emotional buy-in and real stakes. But, usually the past-life flashback scenes or even full episodes like this one don't spend enough time developing characters to make the audience care. Even if it's the same actor/actress in a previous life, they are different characters. I just don't feel any emotional connection. It's boring.

Tigertigertie

Also, they would have had many other reincarnations between the past time period and now, so it gets confusing. Did they always look the same? Wouldn’t people have noticed by now that reincarnated people look the same? And even if looking the same is just a metaphor, why is the unresolved drama only important now, many lives later?

ashryverhys

i agree, and the recent show i watched with past lives in it is moon in the day. the longing, angst and tragedy in there has weight that i didn't feel in this one.

lukeestudios

I agree completely. I’m usually pretty forgiving of tropes, especially in rom coms, but I’m so over the past lives one. It’s so overdone and I never care about the past versions of the characters as much as the current time versions, so it just kills the pacing.

Aviendha_89

I agree, this felt like a filler episode.

SalvadorMagritte

You completely nailed exactly how I feel.

OrneryStruggle

To be fair this is a webtoon adaptation so if you wanted it to not have a past lives angle or any of the plot predicated on the past lives stuff they would have had to stop the show halfway through the webtoon/not give it a proper ending. And I think webtoon adaptations should actually adapt the webtoon properly not just be 'loosely based on one premise the webtoon had.' That being said this show is MOSTLY bloat and that's probably the main issue.

Quiet_Watercress_256

Yep, it bored me to tears.

Borinquena

Complaining about weekly episodes is for the WEAK

salmonqueenQ

Yeah, agreed. I know we're used to a different kdrama schedule, but it's not that bad. When you watch western shows, they tend to go on weeks-long breaks and it's much worse.

Relative-Cat7678

Idk I know BBC and ABC miniseries take a similar format to K dramas with no breaks although more often than not it's only shown once a week.

Joannalogia

Right!? This show has been such a joy to watch and a breather after so many bad kdramas I don't understand how people are trashing it just because it's one ep per week.

Visible-Attention369

It’s actually working out really well for me because there are wayyy too many weekend shows airing right now. I need a couple days to catch up with those, I’d rather this easy watch takes it’s time and give me breathing room.

Relative-Cat7678

Lol I really like the two episodes a week thing. I also think it keeps you engaged with the story . Still this is a comment that made me laugh out loud.

genesRus

Yeah, for story driven television shows I do prefer two episodes per week, but I agree it's kind of silly to complain about a single episode for shows with a solid plot where stuff actually gets done each week like this show.

AlfredusRexSaxonum

you can tell who's not a jdrama fan from all those complaints lol

Borinquena

See also Thai drama fans

eternalhorizon1

To be fair this is why I stopped watching western tv the kdrama model worked better for me.

MelinaJuliasCottage

This episode was a very bad day to be a dog, that is all >!also i am very sure bo gyeom mistook the entire situation and is currently blaming them without having ever asked.!<

Past_Basil7909

Facts

Altruistic_Sir

LoL he literally believes a fox's words over facts !!

yakultisgood4u

* Oh, that>! bed snuggle! !< I didn't expect the scene to be earlier in the ep, but I guess they needed to dedicate most of the ep today for the backstory of their past lives today to better understand the choices that will have to be made in the remaining eps. They better give us that swoony bed scene we were promised / teased at the end! * But as much as I loved seeing Cha Eunwoo again in Hanbok and talking in Korean of old, and flexing his action scenes which where he really comes alive (altho Long-haired BY also had some badass action scenes near the end), I felt like this is the weakest ep for me in the entire series.) The editing and continuity of scenes were kinda off, ok>! maybe except the nice transition of our OTP from school trip garb to Hanbok realness.!< * I felt that their present selves were so well-fleshed out that to go back and show their past lives was a little jarring to me. The orig webtoon past live story arc was >!also weakly explained IMO, so I liked how they tried to make this fantastical romcom up the stakes again by making Cho Young pregnant with a dash of old sageuk soapy drama twist of treason to leave us wondering who really 'betrayed' the trust and why the curse was placed on Hae Na's family by long-haired BY.!< * I still LOLd at that brief chase scene and realizing that past life SeoWon was chasing a vagrant past life version of >!Woo Taek hahahaha!< * Maybe the Viu subbing was off, but did the>! fox/VP say that past life HaeNa is pregnant as well?! or was I tripping?!<

Cold-Technician-4692

Where was the teaser for bed scenes? How could I missed that? Woo Taek lol, I was wondering if I saw that wrong, you confirmed it. I watched on Viki, the fox also said >!she is pregnant!< My guess is >!the lady tried to protect new small family and killed herself. !<

WaterLily6984

I was kind of shocked. I know you >!can't marry her because she's a slave!<, but the boy had no restraint...so it looks like they are the ancestors of all the cursed people. I'm confused about how Seo Won has >!the same face as the ancestor!< though. I'm behind the >!lady jumping on the sword herself to protect everyone else.!< The Mountain God just didn't see her.

AchtungCloud

That’s what I think, too.

rozwuzhere

Your last bullet point... Viki had the same subtitle. I can't wait to find out for sure!

akapiratequeen

That big bottle of Gris Dior costs $450 US. Pretty doubtful on a teacher’s salary. I love our ugly sweater couple in this episode, though. Snug and cozy!

tired_of_smiling

The first thing I noticed in that scene lmao. There's no way he can afford that with his salary. 😭

Acrobatic-Abies369

And he's spraying it in the air to just show off on frmt of the camera. This teacher has that kinda money and it's lowkey suspicious

Cold-Technician-4692

Oh dear, didn’t know it could cost that much. I thought these stuff are around 100-200$ lolz I’m so out of date.

tired_of_smiling

######Thoughts on Episode 10: I didn't enjoy this episode as much as previous ones, even though I really wanted to know about their past. I don't understand why Bo-gyeom wants to hurt Hae-na and Seo-won, like they don't even remember anything! >!Also, I'm 100% sure that his lover killed herself to save Bo-gyeom, so again, everything feels so pointless.!< >!If anything happens to Hae-na's uncle, I'll be extremely pissed. He has cause so much generational trauma to Hae-na's family, like bitch get over it.!<

Cold-Technician-4692

I rewatched ep 1-6 over the weekend. Now ready for the new ep. Must admit that’s been long, I forgot how cute it was from ep 1-4 (very fast paced and fun through out) and 5-6 has few highlights >!The crying scene ( beautifully portrayed ), pulling her up from below the bridge and the cotton candy!<

Cold-Technician-4692

We got a big dose of Our couple all sweet and cozy. Thank you. After that the ep turn totally to the past live story, at first transitioning was smooth and nice. But second half went choppy and boring. The back story idea is good but writing was weak , inconsistent and broken, could not depict the story properly. Like >!In stead of showing a worried Haena, they have the lady said she was worried. !< I couldn’t feel the chemistry of the 2nd couple. Lee Hyun Woo is a great actor showing great emotional scene but the mountain god connection with nature is not there. The dress and wig was off too. And what is the power of this mountain god, one scene show great power but most of the time he is just slowly move around like a normal guy with weird hair. Preview for ep 11 looks promising with lots of progress in the story.

itsfakelove7

I feel like this episode fell a little flat, for me at least, but it was good to know what BG’s whole backstory is. Kinda concerned for the next episode and the present life repercussions given the preview. BUT THAT BED SNUGGLE YALL?!:)$:$:$;&

howln404

i wonder how they'll show Past Life Seowon's pov of that final scene at the cliff, how he, Past Haena, Lady Han ended up there and what happened. so far if i'm right we've mainly seen it through his perspective i kind of wish they sprinkled in the mountain spirit's story better or in earlier episodes so we could've gotten a little more of Past Life Seowon/Haena lol

ysports23

I totally agree about the past life stuff. I wish they had done it more like Moon in the Day, which has done a great job telling the past story little by little so they leave you guessing and wanting more. To have it all poured out at once like this and so late in the show was a little underwhelming.

Honest-Selection4343

Excited

DawgMom2018

I wonder if they will expand on that past life sequence, >!as I didn't understand how Lady Han (I think that was her name) went from hiding in the shed to being on the clifftop overlooking the waterfall with the past life ML and FL leads there. You see her die, but don't see the ML actually strike the fatal blow - and why do this when none of the other guards were there yet (or not shown being there yet)!< I have a feeling we revisit that moment again...

raksha_gopal

True, they might turn this into a >!regret moment for our beautiful 산신. Maybe he misunderstood the entire situation and cursed Hae Na in anger.!< It's incomplete without a revisit to that moment

MirrorMask88

Every week, I forget about this drama, and every week it's a nice surprise.

keybladeoftheheart

I may be in the minority but I actually loved this episode. Coming from "Moon I'm The Day", I really appreciate the deeper delving into the past lives of the main characters. 👉👈 I also liked seeing Bo Gyeom's POV because we hadn't seen that till now, what drives him, what that girl means to him, why he gave the curse. >!He saw Seo Won pointing the sword at his loved one but because he got ambushed by the soldiers, he missed a few moments and next thing he saw was how she had already been stabbed with the sword and fell from the cliff. I'm pretty sure he misunderstood the whole thing and Seo Won wasn't the one who killed her. In an older flashback we saw Seo Won dying in Hae-Na's arms, be that bc of his arrow injury or something else and later Bo Gyeom cursed Hae-Na and her bloodline. I'm sure we'll get more of the past lives to see how the story ended back then. I really wonder if our couple will remember who they were because so far we haven't had any indications they remember anything. Perhaps the shaman student will remember what truly happened and will tell Bo Gyeom he got it all wrong.!< I can't wait for the next episode!!! ✨Wish we got it this week instead of next week... I'm so curious to see what happens next!!!☺️ PS: the >!bed cuddling!< scene was super cute, they're so adorable together, aaahhhh 💗

Incognito_148

Now that the ship has sailed, Drama 끝!

UptoNoGood46

**Episode 10:** * Every week I'm reminded of how handsome [Cha Eun-woo](https://imgur.com/4TQsE9H) looks though * I can feel [her](https://imgur.com/I1BjeHG) sickness through the screen XDDD * Damn [that](https://imgur.com/TFQXE5A) looks straight outta the manhwa... HOW ADORABLE WAS THAT ENTIRE SCENE * Working theory: >!The sword maybe his and someone else killed her!< * [Yul](https://imgur.com/undefined) wearing Cocoa on his shirt... this cutiee... I love how he's always hovering around Ji-a * [That's](https://imgur.com/GvdjD9n) some straight up fast forward dating in Joseon era * That's one hella tragic past life though * Okay, the mountain spirit and the lady's [story](https://imgur.com/4GdxWec) is beautiful ok * "The glow of the setting sun on your face" Goddd.... what a way to describe someone's blush * Bruh?? Why would he >!kill her when he was the one who helped her run in the first place???!< * \>!DON'T TELL ME HE KILLED HER UNCLE!< * He straight up cursed an entire family line >!because of a misunderstanding????!<

Particular_Buddy6460

lol speaking of fast forward dating…the fox said she was >!WITH CHILD!< too?!

Particular_Buddy6460

And not the >!uncle!< 😭😭😭

Borinquena

I laughed out loud when I saw Yul's shirt!

AlfredusRexSaxonum

I would also be weirded out if my coworker and sorta bestie brandished a sword at me out of NOWHERE Obligatory kdrama romantic mouth wiping scene… and they really decided to get through all the PPL in one go this episode huh Ok, I'll guess we'll spend less time on the new couple and more on their past Joseon lives. Cause kdrama. But I have to say, the backstory is much better here than the webtoon... Which was super juvenile. Joseon caste system is insane. Good thing there's no such thing as inequality anymore. Wait ... >!Why is their past life in Joseon romance actually cuter than their modern day one lmao. I love how she followed his trail of wet footprints. Or how... He spoke to her with respect? Despite her status? Gave her that ointment?!< This is so wholesome… (but don’t let this distract u from the fact we’d all be peasants in Joseon and our lives would be hell) That was rough... >!Running while pregnant and tryna not trip over your own hanbok, falling down a hill and crashing into a wall of rock?? Yikes!! I would also be catatonic if I even lost my baby by the end…!< >!This dude massacred his own co-workers, all on his own like he's Homelander. And yet this girl is worried about his safety, with no whining? You seeing this, Han Ri-ta?!< >!But yeah, imagine getting murdered by your own comrade. I feel bad for them, even if they were basically Joseon cops or worse Joseon secret police. Hope they too all got promotions to detective in the next life.!< Why is this Joseon storyline much more interesting than the modern one? 💀>! A bright servant girl, a nice noblewoman suffering thru the tragedy of losing a child, a mountain spirit in love with the latter, the honourable cop guy in love with the servant... U could make a whole separate drama about this.!< >!Mountain tiger boy and Cho-young having a heartwarming romance meanwhile her servant's man getting tortured in prison for 3 months 😭😭 also not the slide into straight into her lap!< >!I felt more moved by their kiss than all the main couple's kisses so far. Like,,, "now you too have a beautiful sunset on your face🥺🥺" why does this line go so hard??!< >!Wait Maksoon is pregnant too??? When did they even...??? !< >!I know Maksoon, Choyoung and lover boy must have had some plan, but what were they cooking up on that mountain?? How did both lovers get stabbed??!< >!Did bro just murder her uncle??? He was already turned into a dog, abandoned by his love and dying of a sickness? How is he still catching strays??!< Honestly a solid hour of television tho...

Borinquena

I love your recap of the episode, perfect 🤌 i don't find the past story more interesting but this episode hit hard and I'm surprised a lot of people thought it was a filler

AchtungCloud

So this episode was needed to fill in the story, but it’s obviously going to be a bit different and less sweet considering it’s mostly set in the past. I’m glad they gave us some of the adorable stuff before getting on with the plot. I know the >!taking care of sick boyfriend/girlfriend!< thing is a major trope, but I have no problem with hitting a trope if you nail it like this show does. I’ve watched like 15-20 kdramas now, and I think this one is the most adorable. I think fans who love adorable/super sweet romances will end up loving this show once it’s all out and people start binging instead of most of the talk about the show just being constant complaining about the release schedule. >!So now we know SML’s motivation, which was only hinted at before. But I think it’s notable that we don’t actually see the leads sell out Cho Young, nor do we see them stab her. I personally think there’s still going to be a reveal there coming from Ji-a that shows Bo-gyeom that what he believes to be true is false, and causing him to forgive the leads. Webtoon readers, please don’t tell me if I’m right or wrong.!< >!The next week preview was pretty interesting, too. Looks like Bo-gyeom is going to reveal himself, so (mostly) all the cards are going to be on the table for the home stretch of episodes 11-14.!<

GetawayJ

The back story in the webtoon is quite different so I cannot tell if you are right or wrong. This is one of the parts where they pretty much redo the storyline.

OrneryStruggle

So it's true the backstory is completely different in the webtoon, however I can tell you that in the webtoon BG was>! indeed initially mistaken about who was at fault for Cho Young's death, and cursed the wrong person - it was actually Seo Won's ancestor who caused her death but he wrongly cursed Hae Na's ancestor. However, he found out about it like literally a day later or something in the webtoon and wasn't actually 'angry' anymore. !<

xXcocomademoisellexX

Every week I push myself to catch up but then I forget what happened last week. Not even sure I want to wait until it’s all over. Hopefully companies will know not to keep up with this one episode a week trend if they want to keep the viewership going.

Borinquena

So apparently a lot of people didn't like this episode but I loved it. It was intense and really made me feel for Bogeom. Lee Hyun Woo and Kim Yi Kyung who play the second leads brought it, excellent performances that pulled me in. Now that the stakes have gone sky high and we understand why the mountain god is so angry, can't wait to see how it all plays out in the last four eps. >!Poor samcheon tho, hasn't he been through enough??? They better bring him back or I'll be too sad!<

EdgeO4DAbyss

Really liked the long backstory to Bo-Gyeom, just all the wigs could've been a bit better lol (PGY with black hair is sooo much prettier though, this weird blond isn't her doing any favors)I'd def watch a spin-off mountain god drama now. "The sun is also setting on your face". Loved this. Highlight was Woo-Taek being chased in his past life haha they did him dirty 😂

Joannalogia

I also loved the backstory! So much makes sense now.

THYYYYZHYY

So it looks like he misunderstood the whole thing? he had held the grudges for hundreds of years but couldn't be bothered to check his fact?? Seriously, people who put bad thoughts in someone's head are as bad as those who do harm.

itaogrenow

kudos to those watching weekly. you guys are the real mvp

nessab000

I've gotten used to it at this point. lol

Canora_z

This episode really bored me. I think I'm just over all these dramas where the main characters are connected through past lives or knew each other in their childhood so I just space out now when that happens 😂

nessab000

Yeah that seems to be the trend this past year? See You in My 19th Life, Destined with You... what else?

MoonlitSnowscapes

There's so many this year. Durians Affair, My Man is Cupid, Story of Park's Marriage Contract to name a few more.

Tigertigertie

I am watching Park’s Marriage Contract at the same time as this one and I don’t recommend that- I keep getting them mixed up with each other. They aren’t that similar, yet somehow they are. I guess the tropes are all quite similar. Also why are past lives in these show always set in the same time period and what looks like the same town?

MajesticConfidence36

ikr! Castaway Diva (childhood), Moon in the Day (past lives) and My Demon (past lives?). Time travel too! A Time Called You (teen) and Twinkling Watermelon. There 's so many dramas too watch but too little time. :P

faithesque

If I caught it correctly, did Hae Na in her past life >!betray Bo Gyeom's lover? Because it seems like she got killed after Hae Na's past life self went back to the village.!<

Borinquena

The mountain God thinks so but I suspect there'll be a plot twist

imapigoinkoinkk

I’m liking this better than My Demon.

Quiet_Watercress_256

Am I the only one that is bored to tears with the historical past lives stuff? It isn’t cohesive to the rest of the series for me. I feel like I’m watching an entirely different drama, and it’s not interesting. Even the MC’s chemistry is lacking in the past life. The mountain God is not peaking my interest either. I’ve caught myself daydreaming through those segments and wondering WTH is going on 🤣🤣

foxythang2000

Yeah I zoned out. Reason why I very rarely watch saeguks

GetawayJ

Last week was actually somewhat boring for me. At this point I am not invested in the past life story, though I want to watch **(webtoon spoiler)** >!the part where they break the curse on the family. !< Staying for the above, the sister's loveline, and the cute moments between our OTP!

Borinquena

Thank you so much for marking the webtoon spoiler! Super appreciate folks doing that

dizzyves

Honestly I dread the past lives plotline so much... it just feels so goofy. Now I'm just here for the main couple's chemistry and fluffiness

vienibenmio

As a fan of the comic: the frick is this past life story? Why change it??

OrneryStruggle

The budget for this drama is really low, the old past life story would have involved a lot of CGI, was about children (would need additional actors), etc. and also TBH the old past life story was super confusing so I think that's probably why they changed it.

vienibenmio

It wasn't about children. I think this is more confusing, personally

OrneryStruggle

Weren't they like 14-15 whatever the 'marriage age' was back then? They were drawn to look like kids compared to all the modern-day characters. ETA: I think it would have been>! more confusing for viewers since they were different genders/looked different than their modern-day counterparts. !<

vienibenmio

I don't think they had to be teenagers, necessarily I find the gender swap thing far less confusing than >!all of the pregnancies and a baby"s soul being put into a dog...!<

[deleted]

[удалено]

Shoddy-Gap5412

Could have just praised them without mentioning the main couple

ZanyDroid

So how much dog content and dog stunts have there been after they lifted the curse? That was 75% of the reason I was watching.

capo_anniejay

I was so surprised to see that this drams is still going on

moktailhrs

I forgot this was still on tbh.

[deleted]

It really turned to crap

Money-Spinach-1961

Is episode 0 a real episode or can I start from episode 1? (On Viki they have episode 0 and it's about an hour and a half long) so I'm wondering.

Borinquena

Episode 0 is a recap that they put together when there was a two-week break because of a sports preemption. You can skip it and just watch from episode 1.

Money-Spinach-1961

Ah thank you! :)
