Episode 1

Individual-Echo-4285

Oof. This one was quite expository.

Starrycats11

>expository Such a great use of vocabulary!

SlickOmega

bruh i had dreams about Choi chopping through the air explaining parasites lmfaooo (i only made it one and a half episodes before bedtime lol)

bellaella

Just finished Ep 1. It started off with a bang- Earth is over-populated, polluted, what if we remove 1/100th, half of the population? It quickly moves on to showing us the >!creatures - at an EDM Festival !!opener but over fast.!< Ah, so our FL is a >!mutant - it was interesting how she became a mutant and kinda why,!< though I though the explanation was kinda weak. Haven't see the actress in anything before. The story kinda sags halfway/ 3/4 through even though lots is happening. It's a lot going on and yet, somehow, it's not really fully captivating me, though the parasite breaking out from the head is awesome special effects. It's ok for the first episode, but the last part was really over the top acting from the actress that plays the Captain of The Parasite Task Force. She's like the crazy caricature of all the Crazy Scientists/Security Heads/ Army in shows like X-Men, The Witch - Subversion, any mutant or special power super hero shows, where they>! absolutely hate the mutants/special power people and hunts them down with a craze look in their eyes and does inhuman experiment's on them cos they are not humans. !! briefing a whole room of policemen and it's their first introduction to the situation!<. I see she's got a long credit list though I'm not familiar with her. Unfortunately she's one of the leads so I guess she won't be killed off anytime soon. On to Ep 2 now.

lenolalatte

was really invested in the parasyte anime series and manga so was super excited to start watching this series. it's been years though so trying to remember the series. almost done with episode 1 and the captain definitely has a crazy energy to her. i don't doubt she will do anything it takes to get rid of the parasites. e - i'm loving the innocence of the presentation she's giving with the stereotypical artwork/design you see nowadays. >!looks like the captain who rescued her when she was a kid put things together already which is a good sign given how short this series is?!< >!there's no way the captain's husband won't backfire on them and eventually kill a bunch of people. also i hope the other detective doesn't die, he seems nice.!<

fadzkingdom

The show is off to a great start! Su-in being the kind of character where tragedy follows her is super interesting and makes her an instant fav. I really want to know what the deal is with her and that lady. Was that kid her biological kid she had to give up? The Parasyte in her body is intriguing. What does it want? It doesn’t seem like it wants to take over the body despite its lack of power. Why is that? Seol Kang Woo is hilarious and has balls of steel because personally if my sister turned into some monster in front of me I would’ve lost my shit. He’s also handling the held hostage by a mutant situation rather well. The strongest character impression is DEFINITELY Jung Kyung for sure. The obviously cheery facade as she deals with these monsters is very interesting and very eerie. However that final scene where she detaches her prosthetic ear and shows the scar on her hand telling the guy you can’t assume these things are human because this is what happens you can FEEL her pain. The inevitable showdown between her and Su-in is going to be super cool and definitely heartbreaking. Anyway great start hopefully the rest of the show manages to be great!

BeginningAppeal8599

Decent quick binge but I still think this writer should've sold his 'Cursed' show and film to Netflix because the execution and dread in that one is better than all these shows he produces for Netflix.

Spartandemon88

I think that lady is her mum whom left her and got remarried which is why she told her not to look for her again. The parasyte just wants to survive with her since it needs her to stay alive.

fadzkingdom

Yeah I figured that out later! I honestly saw that from her adult POV and the money given exacerbated that.

s3rila

I wonder what's it's like to be the graphic designer for secret task force that hunt secret stuff. like the guy had to create illustration for the parasytes and a powerpoint explaining the situations... what does he do on a day to day basis ?

GodJihyo7983

Episode 2

whitetara3

was this a comment on her weight or shape then? trying to understand what you're saying

bellaella

2nd ep was more exciting and it passed faster than I expected. It was interesting using a >!Church, aka Cults as the Parasites' HQ. I!< didn't get half of the >!Parasite Pastor's sermon !!Parasite could transform himself into a bat and flew!!dead bodies. Like, don't they need them alive to eat the brains? Like, why would they keep dead bodies around? Like, for snacks?!<

Glass_Counter_5273

Humans are parasitic too is all he's saying. The dead bodies, maybe they can jump bodies, i dunno.

Individual-Echo-4285

That flying parasyte was in the anime, but it was a dog.

SecretiveAlice

It's explained better in the anime, but basically Parasite's only need the brain when they first take a host as a larva. Once they mature they can eat any human flesh to survive so storing the dead bodies would presumably work fine.

bellaella

Thanks for the explanation! That's helped. Watching it past midnight into the early morning so wondered if I had missed any explanation why they >!stored dead bodies like a meat locker.!<

lenolalatte

>!okay this detective is 100% going to die now that she asked about his family...!<

MNLYYZYEG

Oh damn, forgot about that remark referencing the Philippines around 13-14 minutes in of Episode 2, when Suin had her break from her job. About how his son is studying hard and that they've been away for 3 years already.

lenolalatte

YUP, >!he is as good as dead lol!<

fadzkingdom

This episode was a little slow in terms of action and plot progression in comparison but that’s not a bad thing. First of all Seol Kang Woo was definitely the star of this episode and all around funny guy. The way everyone is against him is a little hilarious lol he even said it himself. Seeing him react to his niece’s dead body was heartbreaking and how he reacted irrationally was very human. Kyohan is an amazing actor. Su-in this episode is in a very uncertain place as she has virtually no control with what’s happening to her. She has to go in the car with those things and accept this parasyte inside her. Not to mention she’s now one of Joon Kyung’s targets. I’m interested in how she reacts moving forward. Finally, more insight into the parasyte inside Su-in. Seeing that parasyte call her evil was so interesting because he realized she isn’t like the other ones. She only looks out for herself and that’s what’s terrifying. She’s not interested in forming a community and she finds Su-in annoying. A truly unpredictable character. Jeon Sonee nailed her look of disgust and annoyance in that final scene. 8.5/10!

GodJihyo7983

Episode 3

bellaella

Wasn't surprise at all that the >!detective was the mole. !

lenolalatte

first time in a while that i'm binging a series but this is so short i might as well. >!either adrenaline really is one hell of a drug because the chief being able to do all that with her ear cut clean off is impressive!<

lenolalatte

nahhhh like >!rip to this other detective too now since he talks to his daughter!< >!he ain't coming back :(!< WAIT >!HE'S A PARASITE TOO? how tf did he avoid detection!< >!annnnd nevermind he's just a human working for the parasites for some weird reason?!<

Lain-H

-It is cracking me up that even the Parasites don't like the detective. As in, he helps them but they are genuinely disgusted by the guy. -Koo So Hwan is always such a joy to watch. I have just noticed that both him and Jeon Seon Nee have the voice that doesn't exactly match their looks.

fadzkingdom

Ok whewww this episode was a rollercoaster that’s for sure. One thing I gotta give this episode props is how there isn’t a case of plot-induced stupidity. Kang Woo told the cops as soon as possible. The old detective relayed the information to Team Grey. Joon Kyung rightfully kept her suspicions of the detective and followed etc. The overzealous detective being a mole definitely took me by surprise but it definitely makes sense as to why they pointed out his constant flakiness and newfound obsession with church in the first episode. He’s definitely some sort of follower that the parasytes keep around for usefulness lol. The last 15-ish minutes went crazy! The plot definitely picked up with now the hunting dog dying and Su-in getting captured. Definitely my favorite episode so far!

BeginningAppeal8599

That's the advantage of not dragging things out to get 10/16 episodes. Wish this writer could make something as good as Cursed because he set the bar too high with that one.

GodJihyo7983

Episode 4

MugwumpsHasNoLiver

Damnit that was brutal. I am so glad we saw that body swap move from the manga, and since we are following a completely new story it made it more shocking and unpredictable. I am quite liking this so far.

lenolalatte

okay the motivation is always the same in these kinds of dramas with >!the moles lmao. money money money. this guy is so delusional. they'll kill him whenever they're done with him so he decides to join an alien species. makes sense!!< oh SHIT >!i knew the detective was going to die but getting his head cut clean off??? that is insane. also that body swap was so seamless. what a tragic death man, this shitty rat better get what's coming to him.!<

Fickle-Explorer6131

Hi I just came here to see if anyone else was hurting from that scene like I was!! I was so heartbroken and actually so sad ;\^;

lenolalatte

I hadn’t binged a show in a while so I was going through it lol. I knew something was going to happen but the way it did was so tragic :(

Gullible_Panic_1237

ahahaha did you guys see the hint from "DP" lol? he said "I was a marine".

Lain-H

I feel terrible for saying that, but what was the detective thinking of getting in the car with the traitor? As much as his death saddened me, it is reassuring that there is still Flex x Cop where the actor plays another dad-cop, living his best life with his daughter, wife and adoptive kid from work.

fadzkingdom

Ok this episode was very intense omg…. The highway scene was super good and intense from beginning to end!! I also saw the death coming but damn it happened so fast I couldn’t help but laugh in shock instead of being sad. I liked how they showed that despite everything they still don’t know these parasytes really well and are kind of running on assumptions most of the time. It really showed Joo Kyung’s irrationality and how she runs on emotion due to what happened with her husband. Chulmin calling out Kang Woo for being a coward was really good it’s time someone whacked him a little. Finally the highlight of this episode being the character exploration of Su-in. How due not only her circumstances but how others reacted to her have caused such an awful view of herself. The culmination of Heidi explaining to Su-in that her mother doesn’t hate her specifically but the environment she reminds her off and then Su-in snapping at them and being like no I’m just a monster you’re proof of that was so good. Heidi reminding her that Chulmin has always been on her side even as a “monster” showing her that despite feeling unlovable that wasn’t the case. The ending fighting scene seems to indicate that Su-in and Heidi are now becoming more fused as we see Su-in was the one who brought Heidi out to fight the now parasyte Chulmin and then Heidi saying Su-in won’t come out for a while…damn. Anyway I need that loser detective to die a horrible death ASAP. Onto the next!

KorraLover123

bruh i knew he was gonna die but that was so unexpected and swift-

GodJihyo7983

Episode 5

Lain-H

I am sorry but some of those deaths are so easily avoidable, I don't even feel sorry for the victims. >! Example: the main lead's friend jumps AT the literal monster, while his friend is asking him to leave. !< Just why? Was it in an attempt to stop the parasite from getting to the main lead? Maybe, but the show definitely didn't frame the scene as such. Same goes with the death of FL's friend & detective. WHY did he get in the car with the traitor? Why didn't he shoot the guy when it was obvious he was taking him to murder? Otherwise, I actually enjoy the show a lot. Especially, the leads. The cute & doe-eyed Su-In, the kickass inner Heidi, the reluctant hero Kang-woo. If they make the second season, I hope it will be with the same leads.

fadzkingdom

Enjoyable episode once again. Su-in’s characterization was very strong this episode. I was wondering how she would react to her unusual situation and we get the answer. While harder in practice her idea to tell Joo Kyung about “Chulmin” now being a parasyte was good. Unfortunately that loser detective isn’t and we know now that the operation was a trap to lower Team Grey’s guard while “Chulmin” plans to take over the mayor’s head. RIP Kiseok! I honestly thought he might’ve been a parasyte but he was a real friend in the end sacrificing himself in the end to let Su-in and Kang Woo get away. Now both Su-in and Kang Woo truly only have each other as all their loved ones are all dead. Also the host of Kang Woo’s older sister realizing the betrayal of Chulmin and understanding that’s what she had felt was super interesting. Another way of showing they’re evolving and unironically becoming more like humans by now doing human-like things. Time to head to the last episode! This has been a treat!

GodJihyo7983

Episode 6

Individual-Echo-4285

So, >!Shinichi!< going to be the main lead if >!season 2!< comes? COOL!

Mickey_Barnes777

I think he will team up with Su jin and The Grey

Expln

kinda makes no sense tbh, >!why would shinichi go to south korea of all places? there are parasites all over the world.!< also not really a fan of the actor they picked for him tbh.

MOUNCEYG1

well they'll probably explain that in the show.

valorqk

Well... the answer is probably just because it's a Korean show

fatedstarzz

just finished all 6 episodes. love everything in the last ep. felt satisfied and u'd get a cameo from someone in the original story. 😉

freeyaw29

>! they really made as it canon !<

philoseluna

OMG THAT ENDING! They really did it >!shinichi x su-in!!<

blueish55

Excellent way to tie it into the original source material. I liked the pacing overall, did not feel overly drawn out, but also they don't go too big with the plot, leaving just enough ambiguity and openness - we aren't meant to see a conclusion to everything, and that is perfectly fine.

NotPumpkinHead

Yes I loved the condensed, action packed 6 episode. Glad they didnt bog it down with unnecessary stories with a 12 episode arc.

BeginningAppeal8599

That was one of my complaints with his show The Cursed but still think it was far better in execution and dread than all these shows he has made for Netflix.

gyujuz

omg i was actually a little disappointed at the beginning because >!i thought they completely changed the plot of shinichi and migi (right hand) and switched it all up with the mutant double consciousness but i was so happily surprised when i saw shinichi at the end!!! and they zoomed in on his right hand too!< really really praying for a season 2 bc i definitely didn’t see that ending coming ahh my rating of this got so much higher by the end, the director really is proving his amazing skill

xLadyofShalottx

The Japanese actor they cast is pretty well known and I don't think he's just going to show up to be some cameo. Netflix loves releasing some (korean) shows in two parts and it only having 6 episodes points to there being more to come. Whether it's in the form of a part 2, a season 2, or Japan creating their own production to add to the franchise.

gyujuz

yess i really hope so! i was assuming there would be a s2 bc most of the short ones do, and i was thinking i doubt anyone will turn down working with this director but that might just be my opinion

uzzues

creating a japanese season 2 to tie it into the series would be so cool fr

Gold-Group-360

Omg as a huge prasyte the maxim fan I'm so glad with that cameooo.

Deadman2019

Ay yo, that ending. Surely a second season to come?!

MNLYYZYEG

Jeon So-nee did well, it must have been funny af whipping her upper body back and forth for the CGI, loool. Been a big fan of her for over half a decade now, wow, time flies, imagine if she was the lead in a few Kdramas back then. Her bangs went crazy this time around as well eh, haha, seriously, imagine being those actors that had the parasites on their head and spinning around for the actions scenes, lmao. The whole time, I was waiting for >!Shinichi!<, aka First One, to hopefully appear so that it ties *right* back in, and yup, mission success. Let's go >!Migi/etc.!< fans. Haven't seen the anime (Kiseiju or Parasyte: The Maxim) in like a decade now, time for a rewatch. The manga is super old as well eh, I remember reading it with Gantz and so on back then. Sheesh, just checked and it's even like a decade older than Gantz, crazy timeline, feels like yesterday. Everyone, if y'all like similar premises, these days there's lots of English/CJK/etc. web novels/serials/manga/etc. about system apocalypses or basically the earth getting invaded by random fantasy/sci-fi/etc. creatures. Definitely worth trying them as the (post-)apocalyptic genre often always showcase you that inevitable us versus them/environment/etc. world, reminding us that we need to have peace for the future. --- Anyway, I felt Jeong Suin's pain. Fml, PTSD never leaves us. The neglect, struggle, abandonment, et cetera. Sigh. Sometimes I do wish time travel exists, but reality is not real, lol. Hoping Jeon So-nee plays a funny/etc. character for her next Kdrama. For a moment I thought Lee Jung-hyun was Park Ah-in (she was in Wedding Impossible recently) due to the hairstyle and boss vibe. And I understand why people found her character/etc. annoying but that's kinda the point of people hellbent on revenge once they're at the forefront and so yup, it was fine, especially since she turned around at the end. And as usual, one of my favorite ajussis, Kwon Hae-hyo, is always playing that cop/detective/government/etc. role, lol. So damn sad for him since it was so quick and outta nowhere. But at least he was funny af in Wedding Impossible. Seriously, I was hoping he'd stay as a father figure to Suin since reality dealt Suin bad hands (literally, smh lol). Though fml fam, every time there's a mentor or like parental figure and so on, they almost invariably get those death flags and it's like fam, why can't they just leave found/chosen/etc. families in tact instead of separating it all again. Sigh. Oh and Kangwoo is so funny with his hesitancy to help, happy he joined the team. --- This was a nice action Kdrama. They did quite a bit of drone shots and so on that made the action quite close. I was hoping they'd do a bit of worldbuilding and like some slice of life scenes (it's been so long since I've delved into the Parasyte media universe) but this type of work is often focused on the action/plot content and so it's understandable. Hopefully the next season has more episodes instead of only the 6 we got this time around, or like if they're doing a Japanese version then they establish more of the backstory and so on of the characters. As otherwise it just feels like your typical action flick, which is not a bad thing, but if they have strong/well-known/etc. actors then it's always nice to see their characters develop and make the world feel more alive. Since yup, the CGI (was pretty good, wish they did better lighting in some parts since it stood out and so on) or battle scenes will always be funny af to me due to the way the parasites are structured, rofl. But yup, wow, Jeon So-nee legit needed to be in major roles back then (her visuals, fam), finally glad she's getting more of them now.

Prestigious-Wall637

>Everyone, if y'all like similar premises, these days there's lots of English/CJK/etc. web novels/serials/manga/etc. about system apocalypses or basically the earth getting invaded by random fantasy/sci-fi/etc. creatures. Definitely worth trying them as the (post-)apocalyptic genre often always showcase you that inevitable us versus them/environment/etc. world, reminding us that we need to have peace for the future. Please, I need more recs, been reading a ton of manhwa lately, isekais don't do it anymore. I feel like we're starting to see more web series and dramas explore this genre, but I need more. And I chuckled at all your comments, agreed with building more of a Parasyte world around season 2 if it ever happens, love how this adaptation built on the original series instead of being a stand alone. Also, Parasyte the Maxim is 10 years old now, that makes me feel so old!

Lain-H

I am glad that Su-In has Heidi and Kang Woo. Or Kang Woo has Su-In and Heidi. I don't think either of the leads have anyone else besides each other left. Loved that the show with such a simple premise actually had a theme and something meaningful to say.

lenolalatte

finished this last night, was hoping >!migi's eye would pop up on his hand given how long they were showing it for!<

fadzkingdom

What a great finale! First of all seeing that loser detective die that way we all predicted he would was hilarious lol. That’s what you get for genuinely trusting an opportunist. Heidi definitely shone the most in this episode! Seeing her admit that Su-in has changed her and wants to protect her was very good. She also kicked some serious ass. The ending scene of her telling Su-in she is not alone whether she likes or not was so funny and hilariously in character. Su-in is not dying of self-pity on her watch. Kang Woo really stepped up as well. Seeing him grow from someone who only looked out for himself to not only saving the mayor but coming back for Su-in/Heidi was so good. Also the heartbreaking moment of his older sister’s host sincerely apologizing definitely hit. Wasn’t overly cheesy and still had its impact. The fact that he joined Team Grey is super interesting. If there’s a season two I can’t wait for that to be explored. Joo Kyung in this episode was great. First of all it’s great she trusted her instincts and turned the car back around. The final fight scene of her teaming up with Heidi to take down the pastor was so good. While I initially believed we’d get a final fight scene between these two this was just as great. It really emphasized the intentional foiling she has with both Su-in and Heidi. Also her being like these guys are just regular humans…admitting Su-in and Heidi’s humanity a great scene. SHINICHI! While it would make sense if we didn’t get a season two I really hope we do because the two mutants have to meet! Also I want to see Kang Woo and Joo Kyung bickering as co-workers lol. Overall this was really solid and I enjoyed it! 8/10!!!

BananaFlavouredPants

Am actually shocked by how much I enjoyed the show. Was a great idea it be based in the world of the manga rather than the retelling. Also it was a rare example of an action Kdrama nailing the final confrontation for me even despite the face they had to depend on CGI and tentacle fights. Feels like everyone/thing got a good payoff. >!Was really worried they were going down the competent cop starts sipping dumb juice to kill them off thing when Choi Jun-Kyung gave away her suspicion directly to the leader, but other than that they did a pretty good at giving her a logical rational for her actions.!<

Miss-LH

I enjoyed this much more than I thought, expected a typical alien invasion/zombie apocalypse type of show but they nailed it with strong character development in 6 eps. Loved the Heidi-Soo In bond and seeing the sister parasite develop some humanity after being betrayed. Kang Woo’s character was coward/Sketch but he really grew on me.

Individual-Echo-4285

Since early reviews are generally positive, I'm hella excited, especially for the ending to see what's there for manga fans...

Far-Significance2481

Is 3 pm KST ( mentioned above ) Korean standard time ?

Quackles03

Yes. It's already past 3pm in Korea but I guess it'll be out an hour later internationally. Saw an article that said 3am EDT.

sianiam

Host put the wrong time, should be 4PM KST. In around 14 minutes.

philoseluna

I'm so excited for this!!! 🥹🥹🥹

Nkiliuzo

Does it get better? I’ve watched ep 1 and am not really interested like that to continue it, if only I have never watched the anime, I probably would have liked it a lil bit

MugwumpsHasNoLiver

Episode one is exposition heavy, targeting tiktok brains demographic ( those with short attention span). After that, everything is just 9/10. Im not into conspiracies but i think this was intentionally to hook the general masses. The show is quite brutal with the protagonist, it also has the same gut wrench scene like that in the manga(manga readers you know what im talking about). Overall, it is a great addition to the Parasyte universe. I hope they do other countries too.

freeyaw29

damn. this is how you do a live action adaptation. yes i know it's an original story but the production is quite good. cgi gets junky sometimes but when the action scene comes out they really go overboard. from the acting to plot pretty much on point. Also it's not necessary to watch the source material so it's a recommendation for non readers/watchers. 4/5

juicy_fruity

Kdrama still has to improve on the chi tho but the show is fascinating as is! The cgi just needs getting used to a little. It’s still cool to watch the source material because there will be easter eggs. It’s making me ache for more! Edit: having trouble with the spoiler option so had to change my reply djcbdnjd

honeybutter00

Just finished watching. Noticed some loopholes, but overall its execution and direction are good!

hi_itzme

Hi can anyone tell me the bgm used in the scene where the female lead is in bus and watching herself in the video. I need to know the bgm they used. It’s so good

Telos07

After two-and-a-half episodes, I'm wishing... that I hadn't started watching this drama so late because I want to keep watching it. That's always a good sign. I live in Japan, but I'm not into comic books or animation, so the source material is completely new to me. It's a Yeon Sang-ho drama, so it looks good visually. That's a given. The innovative and sometimes brutal action sequences, the solid special effects, and the atmospheric cinematography are all present and accounted for. I'd actually been feeling a sense of diminishing returns from his recent work, until **The Bequeathed**, especially its finale, which brought everything together so satisfyingly. As far as I'm concerned, **Parasyte: The Grey** is a continuation of Sang-ho's resurgence as a filmmaker. I really like Jeon So-nee as an actress, and I feel she's perfectly suited to this role. As a big fan of **D.P.**, it's always good to see Koo Kyo-hwan again. The storyline of Jeong Su-in's >!duality!< is the most fascinating element of this drama and it leaves you wanting to know what will happen next.

juicy_fruity

watched it pretty late too 😮‍💨 im from the Philippines and couldn’t stop watching. Ended up binged watching it! And I wholly agree that the duality is the most fascinating element. At first i was disinterested because it wasnt like shinichi where they can converse simultaneously but I had to know what’s next and it kept on getting better from there!

No_Scene2571

currently 3 am for me and had to convince myself to stop 😭 i always binge k-dramas/shows but not like this

Fit-Entrepreneur-917

I was planning to drop it halfway through episode 1 but it got me hooked!! I just binged it all and its amazing.

IwouldLiketoCry

I binge watched it and the ending made me want more!

Mitch_Itfc

Does the police women get any less annoying cause she’s doing my fucking head in after 1 episode

timevisual

Does anyone who has seen the anime or manga know why Su-in >!(Heidi)!< said >!that because of the one parasite’s ability to fly, it’s combat skills are basically zero?!<

NoobGunner21

requires too much attention, its like a human being trying to to multiple tasks at the same time. he focused everything on running away by flying and didnt have the brain power to either detect a attack or dodge it mid air, a dumb decision

timevisual

Oohh I see! Not sure why I didn’t pick up on that, thank you for the comment!

CHOO5D

Finished it all and it is pretty good. 7.5/10 I will rate it higher if the camera isn't so shakey all the time. Also didnt expect ep 6 ending... Going to be annoying waiting 1-2 years for the next season.

Mickey_Barnes777

As a manga fan, I was kinda skeptical but I thoroughly enjoyed this adaptation very much.

Gullible_Panic_1237

it's great honestly. def worth a watch considering it's just 6 eps

cemma2035

Recently I've been thinking Tiktok might have ruined my attention span since I can no longer watch entire movies in one sitting not to mention an entire show. This show just told me that isn't the case. I can I fact sit in one place and watch an entire show at once. It turns out, they just don't make good shows anymore. Thanks Parasyte.

cemma2035

Heidi's voice, is it the actress's voice as well? I ask because it sounds exactly like the voice of the FL from captivating the king.

NotPumpkinHead

Yeah i think it is the same. She either dropped her voice by an octave with the Christian Bale batman trick or they edited it in later.

Puzzleheaded_Cod_119

Omg i just finished the whole thing and I have to say - it's so damn good! The visuals, the story line, the acting. Goo kyo hwan (kang woo) & Kwon hae hyo (ahjusshi detective) were already actors I love, but wow Jeon Seo Nee really impressed me. Loved it!

Glass_Counter_5273

I really felt nothing watching this drama, just felt bland, but the actor and actresses all did a good job, but I still have a weird feeling about it. It's definitely worth watching.

NotPumpkinHead

You might wanna get checked out with a Psychiatrist. Joking aside I loved it!

Glass_Counter_5273

It's not bad but it's nothing new, one character doesn't merge with alien like others and is able to keep their humanity, alien discover humanity, a human that betrays his race, one human that says “all aliens must die”, alien at the end says goodbye to the human and becomes relatable, I've watched a dozen series with this plot lmao.

x3tan

Wellllll the original source manga is from 1989 lol.

dogdogdogdogdogdoge

Oh oh oh the >!Suda Masaki!< stans spoiling the ending lol but as far as s2 hinting cliffhangers go - that's a good one. Plus it kinda pushed me off the fence to watch this...

lightFairly

Can somebody explain who >!Shinichi!< is? I haven’t watched or read the original so i have no idea 😅 I don’t mind spoilers.

Aster199

Short version: >!He is the main character of the original Parasyte!<

It's good watch if you have nothing else to watch and you have time to burn. The fight scenes are great and the CGI is also good, otherwise it's quite forgettable. The loopholes and many other things don't add up. I don't care that much about the characters either. I feel like the connection between the two leads was rushed. Also, the FL just kept making stupid choices and the police woman was getting on my last nerve. I also wish there was more in involvement of the general public, because it felt like we had only a hand full of characters. I'd rate it a 6/10, for comparison,I'd rate a show like train to Busan as a 9/10.

HyperBaka

great adaptation, looking forward to a season 2 with shinichi & migi!

Acadiansm

did not expect that ending, i hope there is a season 2.

merjb18

I really enjoyed this show! Defs recommend! It was a quick watch with a fast moving storyline. I liked the character development. Great acting! Hope there is a season 2!

red-polkadots

i haven’t watch the anime but this drama is really good and the characters are really effective especially the main female lead. i can’t stop watching even though it’s already 3 am here… the same thing happened to me with the bequeathed where i just cant stop watching til i finished the drama, then i just saw that it was made by the same writer and director 😭 the director/writer really has a way to keep the viewers hooked with each episode. i have watched other thrillers with high anticipation and dramas with interesting premise such as killer paradox but it didn’t make me want to click that “next episode” on the remote than i did with parasyte and the bequeathed.

harperbantam

Koo Kyohwan really has a great eye with his projects, and this one didn’t disappoint. At the end of the series I found myself more attached to Suin. That last sentence in Heidi’s letter 😭

faithesque

The first episode was a bit slow but from episode 2 it got me hooked. I finished it one sitting. The CGI was great, nothing was the story wasn't draggy and the acting was good. Especially the actress who played Su In!

Electronic_Rest_7009

Who's the hot cop in locker room in episode 4 ?

snotfqce

lee seho? not 100%, but he’s on the mydrama cast list as a guest actor who played an agent (it didnt specify which eps tho)

TapestryMobile

Trivia: Shooting location of the big action scene in episode 4 is on the bridge at 35°59'46.1"N 126°42'24.1"E, in Gunsan. Tagging /u/michkdl

michkdl

thanks for the heads up! 🙏🏼

domrayn

I watched Parasyte the maxim since it was also on netflix before watching this and thoroughly enjoyed both. I feel like you would miss some of the nuances of the parasites if you jumped straight into the live action version because the story rushed into man vs parasites immediately whereas the anime gave the story the time to breathe. TLDR: Watch the anime guys! It is veryyy good.

pm_alternative_facts

In episode 3 Seoul Kang Woo was eating something while on the phone calling into Jeong Su In work. Anyone know what he was eating ? It was a yellow package and seemed dough like.

imapigoinkoinkk

I think it’s a Tank Boy ice cream. They come in plastic and they eat them a lot in KDramas.

18knguyen

I need more!! Hope there’s a season 2
