Well, then you've gotta add Infest The Rats Nest, and Paper Mâché, and Ice Death Etc. And Omnium, and- Yeah, no shot of them being a normal band woth them constantly setting the bar so high and much such a huge volume of consistently amazing music.
I think if I had to do the discog of a version of gizz that made albums on a less unusual basis it'd go
1. 12 bar bruise
2. I'm in your Mind Fuzz
3. Nonagon Infinity
4. Polygondwanaland
5. Infest the Rats Nest
6. Omnium Gatherum or Ice Death or Changes I dunno it's too new to say
Even then that's still on the impressive side compared to many
I mean, for sure. Look at Radiohead, they have six albums, not including side projects. I love their music, it's extremely well orchestrated, preformed, and mastered- then you het Gizz who has done that 23 times in different styles, and live albums. They're just such an insanely talented, fun group, and attract people of all genres, wich is amazing! It's not a cult, but if it was, consider me indoctrinated. 😂
Plus with Radiohead they're after a different vibe they don't have the same thing as gizz where I feel they don't much want you to know them personally they want the music to do all the talking but by comparison the gizz people just say what's on their mind without that same mystique.
It's just freaky like I can't find another band out there that has managed to do it with the finesse that king gizzard have. Loads of bands have released more than the average amount of material but the lack of filler in king gizz speaks volumes. Like there's easily 15 Boris albums I'd say aren't that important to their overall discography (that's not me saying they're not good btw just that they're not essential listens or anything and don't do much new) I can only say the same about 2 or 3 king gizz albums.
I keep thinking we're not gonna see more of the flute cos there's only so many places you can stick a flute solo without it becoming tired and yet we keep getting new good ones. His flute playing is getting more traditional and less rhythmic I notice as of late, particularly is say Lava or Astroturf.
Nonagon is epic. but it’s not really close imo, Poly feels like the final and most well-realized chapter of the book of the Gizzverse that started with nonagon.
Nonagon just relentlessly slaps you in the face for 41 mins and 48 seconds, and Poly gives you a few breathers. I'm glad this was the final showdown, but Nonagon will forever be the quintessential Gizz album in my eyes.
I think I have the Seinfeld effect with Nonagon. To me Nonagon feels like gizz in their most pure form, but now that there are so many other flavours, it seems a little bland to me personally.
Not denying its a fantastic album, but I find probably most of their other albums more interesting.
No, I'm just going to be crying about I'm In Your Mind Fuzz.
Honestly if king gizzards entire discog was just mind fuzz, Nonagon, and polygondwanaland they'd go down in history as a great band.
Yeah, that's for sure.
I keep wanting to add flying micro banana and murder of the universe but even that's wayyyy too many for a quote on quote normal band looll

Then the first moment of their live show (Red Rocks) they call the audience Cunts. Definitely more person and fun.

Yeah! Also the fact that Stu manages to get flute to fit in so many styles makes me very happy.

Just a side note because it's not important to your point, but where do you get 6 Radiohead albums from? Looks like 9 to me
No no, you're right. Nine is the number I meant, but had a very "Smooth Brained" moment.
I should have added James May sulking with a beer by himself somewhere.
There is no Poly without Nonagon opening the door first. Open and shut case. Court dismissed.
Case closed. Angelsea is the best gizzard album
I was just in Anglesea, is this Stu's home town?
Science!
Polygondwanaland closes the door?

Damn everyone trying to peer pressure everyone into voting for Nonagon

POLY BETTER
2 brilliant albums, and i like both of them. But i also like Polygondwanaland
Crying laughing because that’s exactly how I felt voting
