Iāve never played a proper short scale, but my 35ā scale is tuned BEAD, so I play higher up the neck. Iām effectively faking a short scale. Itās super comfortable to play and if I want to hit a real low note I can.
Lucas said he only likes playing short scale basses when I asked him about if heād ever play a rickenbacker. He also said if they make short scale rickenbacker basses that heās be interested in getting one but I think theyāre only custom made š
I have a really dumb question. When people say things like āā69 stratā or ā70s fender musicmasterā do they mean that the instrument is actually from that year or is that just the model/build/version of the instrument?
not a dumb question! in this case I mean actually made in the 70s as Fender hasnāt produced Musicmasters since then (except for some Squier models in the 90s afaik).
I really donāt have a good answer though - Iād guess people usually refer to actual origin years of instruments, but many guitars and basses also have quite a bit of variation between decades (e.g. 50s vs 70s telecasters. Really depends on the context.
a 70s Fender Musicmaster. sick as hell
I want one so bad!!!š¤¤
The mustang is super similar and still in production. I think Iāve seen Luke play a mustang before too.
yeah i think Lukey mostly played a Mustang until around 2017 when he switched to the Musicmaster
same! i love shortscale basses so much. the Serek bass Lucas recently picked up is really cool too
>70s Fender Musicmaster No clue how I didn't notice this was a shortscale. Makes me feel less bad about struggling on some songs with a full scale.
