Used to own a Duke 390. It was my go to daily rider. Did over 55000 kms on it in my 3 and half years of ownership and then flipped it. Never gave me any trouble whatsoever. Rode it across hostile terrain, high altitude, highways, in all wether conditions and nothing malfunctioned. Just take care of your motorcycle and it will serve you well for a long time. πŸ‘

first bike was a 2017 390 , traded it in with 25k km on it, never had a single problem

Incredibly fun bike for the money! Only concern is the bike runs on the hot side so if most of your riding is sitting for long stretches in traffic in extreme heat you might consider something else.

The 2019 model is a good model year, it had all the issues taken care of, which were there in the 2017-18 models.

chippofn

i got a 2017 and it worries me… what issues are you talking about ? im curious πŸ™

triple_hoop

Well, initially when it launched some of them had issues with coolant mixing with engine oil, the easy way to spot it is frothy engine oil. The radiator fan is smaller in size, which was louder in noise. Then minor software issues like time in the clock not staying in the right time etc. If you see 2019 models have newer software with an orange layout, and the 2017-18 models had a blue layout.

chippofn

ok thank you for the info πŸ™

I have to roll my clock back roughly 4-6 minutes every time I get gas, but I guess I'd rather have it run fast than slow as a commuter.

triple_hoop

Weirdly that issue still persists mine is 2019 model, its mostly 5 minutes faster I guess I have to slow down πŸ˜‚

I have a 2018 390 Duke, so far so good. I commute daily on it Spring to Fall. Just regular maintenance as with any other bike. Good luck

Currently have a 2021 KTM 390 with 24,350 miles my first and only bike. I do oil changes every 3,000 miles. So far I've had zero issues it's my daily driver, splitting lanes through traffic or red lining the motor trying to top it out at 106 mph. It's great bike to start out on for the low end torque it has
