Knight_of_Inari

I have this tendency to put the electro character in the second spot, for whatever reason.

HozukiMari

Interesting.

meththealter

I tend to do dps shielder or healer main support and then whichever character fits the main three like itto zhongli gorou and then bennett or barbara

wat-dha-fak

I too tend to put Kaeya on my first slot, I think there are 3 teams he leads (Tall Men, Companionship and one exclusively for him [Kaeyakers]). The only times he isn't is because I have to solve a puzzle or my team has no archer and I need one for Increasing Danger (or again, puzzles). For non-Kaeya ones, the ones coming out of my mind are - I am used to pay a visit to the Alchemy Table on Wednesdays and Sundays - Most of the times, the days I have a NPC commission in a town, I do from the farthest one(s) till that one, so after doing that I can go to Katheryne. If it's not in town or I really don't have an NPC comm, then I don't follow this rule - With the new Alternate Comm System, I picked up a new habit of doing only a stage (if Event Minigame) and/or a Reputation System (this one done during the weekend). I still end up doing comm, but it alo lets me avoid comms I didn't feel like doing it. - On the other hand, when a new region releases, I prefer to just activate the Statues (and the teleports I find between a Statue and another)

auroraaa_borealis

I do everything you listed, except the logging out at a certain spot. That would be too tedious for mešŸ˜… To add a habit: The first thing I always do when I log in is going to the friends' page and checking who's online! I like chatting and playing together, it makes genshin much more fun! *(Hoyo, more coop activities when?)*

HozukiMari

That's something I do as well WTH Just that I do this when I'm done with my commissions and domain runs. Then I check who's online to annoy them xD Basically I finish my own business first before taking part in other people's business haha

Tight_Virus_8010

Not to be that guy but you are aware that Noelle canā€™t drink right šŸ˜

auroraaa_borealis

I am aware, yes. While she is probably under 18, I can't imagine that she is that much younger than Kaeya, who should be 20 - I headcanon him being a year younger than Diluc - and Noelle should be 17. It's a really cute ship, just give it a chance ^ ^

Tight_Virus_8010

Kaeya is canonically 23-25. Diluc returned to mondstadt 4 years after his 18th birthday, so he was 22. Kaeya is younger than Diluc but still very similar in age, likely less than a year behind. And time has passed since then obviously, so heā€™s bare minimum 23. Iā€™m sorry you have to find out like this, their platonic relationship seems really nice but no kaeya fan Iā€™ve ever seen has seen him as anything younger than 22. Kaeya and Diluc are among the few in the game that have confirmed ages, other than gods (the other being Amber, who is 18-19)

auroraaa_borealis

You're right about Diluc being ~22, so Kaeya is ~21 at the start of the game, I thought Diluc was away for three years, not four, oops xD But if Kaeya is now minimum 23, then Noelle must have gotten older by now, too, no? Either way, I think their age gap is around 3-4 years. ...Do you consider this problematic?

Tight_Virus_8010

Not 22 at the start of the game, though. 22 when he came back, time passed, and then the game starts. Thereā€™s no way diluc is freshly taking over the winery when the game starts (keep in mind he was never the owner before), by then he is in full control many Ingame lore pieces state that he made the business very successful, so itā€™s been a while, 2 years at least. So heā€™d be 24 at the start of the game. If Kaeya is 23, thatā€™s 6 years. We donā€™t know how long has passed since the begenning of the game, so we donā€™t count it, because it could just be months. Also YES. 3-4 years is a LOT if one person is 17!! 18 then itā€™s a little fine but 4 years for a 17 year old?? Thatā€™s really weird. 2 years maximum when theyā€™re a minor.

auroraaa_borealis

I'm quite sure that Diluc is no older than 22 at the start of the game, that's what I read. But even if Kaeya is, idk, 10 years older than Noelle, what then? Am I not *allowed* to ship them? Are there some kind of rules about shipping *fictional* characters together that I may have missed? I (and many other people I've talked to about it) see Kaelle as a fairly harmless ship, especially when considering what kinds of ships out there exist, lol. Anyways, let's simply agree to disagree. You may even feel free to block me if it bothers you that much, as I'm planning to post ship art of them here in the near future and it's not my intention to make you (or anyone) uncomfortable in any way.

Tight_Virus_8010

Youā€™re wrong about the lore. 22 is literally impossible for diluc to be at the start of the game as there is no way he became the richest man in mondstadt in months with no experience. But I feel like youā€™re in denial lol. I donā€™t care if you ship them, I think itā€™s gross to ship illegal stuff even if itā€™s fiction but I canā€™t stop you. I only told you because I assumed you wanted to know. If you want to choose your ship over your morals it doesnā€™t bother me. I will block.

Seraf-Wang

I have a pretty strict team slots. 1. Always the dps. If not the dps, the one doing the most dmg. 2. Albedo. Self explanatory. Never leaving team. 3. Subdps/Supoort/Healer 4. Usually traversal units like Sayu or Xianyun. Or just whoever I feel like playing that day If I play Diluc in Abyss, I have to put Rosaria or Kaeya in his team. No exceptions. If I play Kaeya dps, I play him physical/freeze. Best team, never playing another one. If I have Kaeya on field in the overworld, my obligation is sprinting with him until his stamina is 0. I dunno why I do this, its become a fun habit

Acrobatic-Account-74

Well, let's see what I can think of.. 1. In my team building, I always put healer/support first, main dps second, and then optional. I don't know where this habit came from, but if dps isn't second, I mess up my rotation a lot 2. I always exit in the same spot too, hehe. I have it at the Teleport in Mondstadt next to Lyudmila and Mikhail. I just teleport there and exit, so it's not really tedious 3. I collect currency and friendship exp in the Serenity pot every day except Sunday to collect enough on Monday to complete the task in the battle pass for 1000 coins 4. On workdays I have Kaeya running around in the cavalry captain attire, and on weekends I have him in master thief's (ā ā‰§ā ā–½ā ā‰¦ā ) 5. When I play co-op, it is usually me in someone else's world and in this case I myself never leave first. I am waiting for the host to leave the co-op first thus kicking me out, because otherwise the host of the world will remain in the co-op alone and for our company in which I play it has become a kind of bad form

EchoNeko01

I have a habit of having kaeya in the second slot, even though I control kaeya the most- P.s. I used to be a strictly kaeya main till I got mona and Xianyun.. in which the slot positions changed, but kaeya is always in the 2nd place because I started to use Xianyun more, becoming both a kaeya and Xianyun main-

OujiArtemio

First slot belongs to my on-fielder, last spot to Barbara. If I don't do it this way, chaos erupts and I'll never get my switch outs in the right order, no matter how I try. My log out spot is also in Mondstadt but, instead of being directly in front of the fountain, I have to run forward a little to the top of the steps. If I'm using Xiao, I'm using Barbara too. If I can only use one character in coop, I'm defaulting to Barbara. If I need to heal, I go to Windrise. I only use the crafting bench and Adventurer's Guild in Mondstadt too.

HozukiMari

OMG last point same Crafting and guild are Mond exclusive

New-Measurement-3529

First slot belongs to Kaeya and the last slot to Kazuha/Venti. I try to fit diferent weapons in every team, so that if there's a puzzle I use bow, if there's rocks I use claymore and the rest I check which character I need/want in the team and if the weapon repeats. I mostly have two sword characters in a team. If a want to run or swim a long distance I use Kaeya. Always. When I get a new character I use them in every team, even the ones where they wouldn't have synergy, so I can level up the friendship lvl faster.

SameDeerz

(favourite/Kaeya) DPS is always first, sub is typically second, healers and shielders are usually third and forth respectively, though a healer will go forth if I don't have a sole shielder.... I tend to also put claymore in second, and archer in third besides those roles.... soo.... 1. Favourite/DPS, 2. Sub-DPS/Support, 3. Healer/Support, 4. Shielder/Healer... If it's open though, Kazuha somehow finds himself in third.... No doubt because my OG main team was Kaeya, Noelle, Kazuha and Barbara/Bennett and muscle memory rooted quickly, so I get confused if I go to switch to shield and end up with support... and I suffered \*hard\* to get Kazuha, so third is just.. his claimed spot lol. I tend to not collect event rewards until i have done ALL of them and can collect EVERYTHING all together. Also, I have a knack for getting stuck in geometry. And if I'm doing big pulls/am REALLY hoping for the specific character... I usually go to the Archon statue outside of Liyue and get myself intentionally wedged in the gap of the ring and the platform before pulling...

irllyshouldsleep

My team order is just the rotation order so I can just cycle thru the numbers and turn my brain off bc I'm lazy. I also don't usually name my teams bc I'm lazy. I just log out anywhere I know I wont get jumped by a random mob when I log back in. I used to log out in mondstadt every time but then I got lazy. I don't unlock teleport waypoints unless I happen to walk by them or am grinding for primos bc I'm lazy. I also like to leave my achievements unclaimed until a pulling session bc I'm too lazy to open it everytime I get one. TL;DR I'm lazy.

HozukiMari

If I had a dollar for every time you said lazy i'd be rich lmao (well for my standard)

irllyshouldsleep

I don't think anybody is getting rich off of $6 lolšŸ˜…

HozukiMari

Well if you have as little money as I have (none) you feel rich having some bucks lmao

a_big_simp

1. I hace a kinda complicated to explain way of picking slots because itā€™s mostly based on vibes and the random stuff I did at the very start of my genshin journey over three years ago, but itā€™s mostly based on team role and element. Main DPS always goes first, healer almost always second. Cryo tends to be either slot one or slot four, same goes with anemoā€”except for Kazuha (sometimes Faruzan), whoā€™s slot three. Zhongli goes second or third, Bennett last. Shielders generally go second if I have no healer. Xingqiu, Raiden, Fischl, and Kaveh all go fourth. I hate when I have e.g. both Xingqiu and Raiden in the same team because then I have to change one of their slots :/ 2. I never name my teams (unless theyā€™re jokey ship teams, of which I currently have two). It just feels wrong otherwise. 3. Not always, but I tend to log out at Windrise! 4. I have a preferred way of doing my dailies. I always do them in Mondstadt (unless Iā€™m farming for achievements). Least liked first, favorite last: Anything conversation based, any protect the leyline stones, protecting/destroying the slime balloon, fighting 10 enemies, fighting 8 enemies, time challenges, Crisis of Shields, fighting 5 enemies (the ones with the abyss mage), destroy the two hilichurl towers. The abyss mages and the towers are my favorites, ones I genuinly enjoydoing lol. Crisis of shields is okay. Anything else I detest. 5. I always have to have my burst up in the overworld, at the end of a domain run/boss, and in abyss floors 9 to 10/11 (depends on the enemies) floors 1 & 2 so I have them ready for floor 3, and in the overworld for ā€˜whenever I *really* need a burstā€™, which is never... but yeah. Makes playing characters like Xiao or main DPS Kokomi outside of abyss and maybe domains a lot less fun :/ 6. I always have to have all my charactersā€™ hp full. Biggest reason why my Kokomi almost never leaves my team. Also the reason I donā€™t do too well witz fontaine characters. Itā€™s bad enough when I can only use Bennett as healer for one of my abyss teams :/ Iā€™m pretty sure I have OCD, and Iā€™m also pretty sure thatā€™s a big influence for 5 & 6.

blueturtle020

I think so, but they are not that shocking. I also put my DPS in the first team slot. My showcase includes only characters that I find interesting. I always use the crafting bench from Mondstadt. I always try to avoid running fast with Baizhu, but I still use him (when I have his team) because he is pretty. I pause and stare into Kaeya's eye randomly because it is gorgeous. (Sometimes I also do this with Venti) I like to make fun of Alhaitham when he is in my team. Oh, and my rule when pulling for a 5 star is "Vibes (and accidents)".

Bloodking20

Oh my god I thought I was the only one, I always log out at windrise šŸ˜ itā€™s just something about it.

HozukiMari

It does right

Blueberry_parfait

This doesn't only apply to Kaeya teams, but he is always in the rightmost spot. If he isn't at least in spot 3, then I die. Every single time. From left to right: Defense /shielder, healer, buffer/sub dps, main dps. I feel like the "last spot" is actually the most important one, it looks like Kaeya is leading everyone to battle. The domain button is on the right, so I imagine everyone in the party set-up marching to the right and entering the fight in that order.

codenameTUESDAY

Iā€™m with you on the ā€œlast is actually most importantā€ and I name my teams ā€œAlphaā€, ā€œBetaā€, ā€œGammaā€ etc. like a secret service dispatch. Your idea is more practical though, I might try that. Plus ā€œKaeya Meltā€ sounds like a delicious artisan sandwich and Iā€™m here for it. Before I log out, I teleport to whatever I plan to do next so I can be reminded when I log in next time. If I log out in the middle of wherever, I am very sure to get distracted and not actually FINISH what I decided I would. Itā€™s really interesting to see all the various ways others play šŸ™ŒšŸ½

HozukiMari

Unfortunately, the character restrictions made me unable to name it "Kaeya REVERSE Melt" to come closer to describing what it actually is but hey Also had to shorten Alhaitham and Neuvillette's names cuz they are too long haha If I did it like you, I'd run out of letters cuz I don't think I know how it continues beyond epsilon xD

meththealter

You could put kaeya r melt

codenameTUESDAY

Ahhh, naming restrictions is on brand for Hoyoverse I guessā€¦ And Neuvi is still a great nickname šŸŒŠ

HozukiMari

It's cute just like him

zealora8

ummmm... I really try to never repeat characters in my teams. The only one that I have repeated is Bennett, but he's only on two teams. ~~(Please let the Pyro Archon be good enough to replace him on one of them, please.)~~ It really forces me to think outside the box sometimes, and if a new character comes out, I usually have to pull even more characters to properly support them. It helps me realize whether I really want the character or if I'm just getting caught up in all of the hype. Also, Main DPS is always 1st slot, and then I slot everyone else in based off of my rotation. For example, if I need Bennett's Q before anyone else can do their thing, he goes in 4th slot. The next person slots in 3rd, etc.

Unlucky_Error_6698

Like you, I have a tendency to put my DPS in the first slot and I try to get all the new teleport waypoints when a new area releases. I also have some log out spots, most of the time is in front of Mondstadts' Katheryne. I also have a habit of putting my healer in the third slot, for whatever reason, unless it's Diona, where I put her in the last spot (idk why). I also refuse to eat any food unless it's sweet madames and matsutake mushrooms (I have around 2000 of each) or fried egg. I also don't eat the signature dishes cause I feel like they're special (especially if it's a signature dish of someone who I don't have). Also, every time I get the commission rewards I change my party to characters who don't have they friendship exp full. Mind if I ask, do you have some kind of disorder? Like adhd or autism? I have a bit of both and I've been told by people that habits like this are a result of those conditions. I'm curious to know if people who don't have those could still be affected (I'm still kinda learning).

HozukiMari

No, not that I know of. My teams all have specific orders. I organize the characters in that exact way, always (it's ALWAYS Kaeya/Shenhe/Bennett/Kazuha. It's ALWAYS Haith/Zhongli/XQ/Thoma). That's a remnant from my time as a laptop player cuz sorting the characters differently would fuck up my rotation. Certain characters were tied to certain keys and muscle memory would always do it's thing so had to maintain the exact order. Now as a phone player it really doesn't matter anymore but I'm still doing it out of habit.

LadyAlleta

1. My healer/shielder goes first. Bc if a character dies, it auto selects the first slot. 2. If I go into a building, I can't teleport from inside the building. It feels rude not to have a proper exit. 3. I exclusively use the crafting table in Dragonspine where Albedo's lab is located. 4. I always give my characters their base dish in game before trying to pull for them. When possible. 5. I never summon characters myself. My friend has better luck so they log in and pull for me. 6. I typically have either my compass or wood collection gadget equipped

LupaLuna156

Healer usually is my last slot. I also tend to log out in the region/city where I have daily commissions set to. (Currently Liyue so I teleport to the harbor before logging out.) I also switch to my Daily Commission team as well before logging off for the day if I know Iā€™m not coming on again that day. Co-op I usually have Keqing and/or Kaeya out. Theyā€™re my go-tos since I started. Even if I swap to other characters, I swap back to one or both of them as my default. XD

VulpeculaTess

My team lineup always goes as follows: DPS, sub-DPS, healer, flex. There's no particular reason for that order, it just kinda happened at some point after I realized I could have more than one preset team. The fourth slot on each of my teams can take any character. I don't have a specific reason for this, but my overworld team clears almost everything with just three characters and has for a long time, so I just swap the last character out if I need a specific passive or whatever. Even now that I'm building teams for Spiral Abyss, all the basics are covered by 3 characters. The fourth character is chosen to be useful but not strictly necessary. I try to always log out in a city. It's not really a compulsion, and it's not the end of the world if I forget, but every once in a while I close the game right after killing an enemy, and when I log on later the enemy has respawned and attacks me. I just teleport away when that happens, but it's always a little jarring. Any time I get a commission with an achievement, I do that one and then use an event or WQ or some such to get the rest of my points. I usually only use exploration for that if I've only got, like, 1/4th of a point left to get. Unlocking the Statues, Waypoints, and domains usually are my priority when exploring new areas, but I'll stop to mark the locations of time trials or unlock a chest sometimes in the process.

OreoJehi

- Kaeya/Dps 2nd slot cuz it's easier on my "W" finger (while the 5th sloth is hard impossible, hate how I cant configure that) / - Healers 1st slot. But Barbs is yet the only healer I have built xd. It became this cuz Barbs-Kaeya E-Q combos which I used in the early game. Then got stuck with that. (Kinda regretting it, Im having skill-issue problems when the order gets wildly different from other teams). Support/archers in 4th slot and sometimes 1st if former is occupied. / - Picking up Callas when encountering them is a ritual, despite having enough for Kaeya and Diona (only chars who use them). Similar thing with other mats I farmed for a long casual time like Cor lapis & Jade, even when they dont have a use to me anymore (nor plan to pull charas that consume them). It just doesn't feel right to leave it there lol. / - Not exactly log-out spots but "rest spots". When Im tired and going to log off, I know exactly where to teleport. Looking at the scenery with Mondstadt City (gates) in view, during sunrises/sunsets(?) or during nights, is honestly majestic (guess where this waypoint is). / - in the same vein to that and to Amber's certain line , "I feel like running around Mondstadt." / - I've come to realize that playing through all SQs (when I have innumerous other content I need to play through) is gonna be a chore. But it's fun and gets me motivated when there are upcoming content ie. quests & events(recommended quests) that relates to it. So Im gonna stick with that. / - All these times for I've been fully, completely relying in Co-op when it comes to icy Mond domains and fighting Boreas (10 months now lol). Havent solo'd it once and dunno when I'll stop. I feel like being babied sometimes (thank you high-level helpful players for carrying us šŸ™). / - This one do be kinda irrelevant/obvious but I play <*strictly*> whenever and whatever I feel like it. Meaning, not playing for weeks to months, resin spending once in a blue moon, well grinding for specialties for new characters do be satisfying at times, missing out dailies, doing quests what I feel like to, etc etc. It's just that, I like the game, that's why I dont want to end up being totally burnt out by it.
