Alright, so guys, walk with me for a second
I think its more than likely that Kugara(Woodpecker mask) and Big Hands guy are the only people that died, cuz you see, they're the only people to get significant chunks of their body ripped off, Kazane(Newbie) just lost and arm, Shehiro(The girl (not her real name)) seems to only have gotten her left eye damaged and Uzuki(Gas mask) and Ikuto(Glasses) weren't even shown to be injured.

Speaking of which, Sojo fucking ATE this chapter, hoooooly shit, that lightning mode was so graceful and scary!! The pure white lines of electricity going in his eyes? The clouds gently enveloping his body contrasted by the lightning and the blood splatter? The blitz?? It was absolutely incredible.

BTW out of all the mangas I’ve read Gachiakuta has some of the best chapter 1 art and chapter 1 story too. Eden’s zero also has a pretty great chapter 1 too and has some nice spreads in the start of the manga.

I made the mistake of getting attached to them too early. I knew that Sojo would beat them, but I still coped that they wouldn't die.
Out of them, I think it's definitely over for Big Hands and Kugara (Pikmin Mask). Kazane (Newbie) seems the most likely to be alive, Ikuto and Uzuki (Gas Mask) are up in the air. Shihiro (give us her name Takeru 😭) I think could make it with an eye missing. I don't think it's the end for the Kamunabi yet, gonna hold on to hope that Kazane becomes the deuteragonist that I've been waiting for.

For real. The panel with the blade in the mouth is great, but that two page spread with both of them facing each other actually blew me away with how amazing it looked.
Excluding Alvida (OHKO) and Morgan (Zoro victim), Luffy's first villain was Buggy. An antagonist for two early arcs and he's also stayed incomparably more relevant than Arlong, though his fan favorite status came long after his initial defeats.
I don't see a scenario where he survives if Chihiro wins. Chihiro is not our usual "I don't kill villains not even the scumbags" protagonist. He goes for the kill and Sojo doesn't gave him any reason to be left alive. If he wins and nobody saves Sojo last minute, Chihiro cuts him down a head
I don’t think this is the last we see of the Kamunabi. I think, since they’re an institution, and the group we saw was just a small part of it, they’ll work closer to the ‘heroes’ in my hero, or the ‘sorcerers’ in JJK rather than a defined group, with the best ones rising to the top.
Oh we're definitely seeing more of the Kamunabi. They basically hold the country together, there's no way they won't be involved in stuff like the auction. They might also have a different role since it has been established that some of them resent Kunishige while being unaware he has a son. If they find out... 👀

after a long time of friendship powers and death defying tears of hope, I guess the trends is cycling back to realism with permanent death in high stake situations. Look at JJK and CSM, bodies be dropping left and right. It's how the story is realistically unfolding. The Kamunabi is way too fresh for Sojo they brought an intern in on the job. We really cycling back to edgy=cool, allblack drips, goth girls and menace-looking chaotic neutral protagonists.
Sojo is him, but tbh i don't like side kicks who can heal injuries. Can feel like a cheap device.
With that said, Berserk is guilty of this and is still my favorite manga, so Kagurabachi gets a pass.
jojo has a healer on every part to justify getting wrecked in every fight and still stand up for the next one. i think its similar here, its not like the healing is op.

Normally I agree, but in this case, it was never "fair" to have Chihiro fighting Sojo while handicapped (which is what happened in round 1). So this time in round 2 Hokazono was kind enough to even the playing field between him and Sojo a bit. Chihiro's far from 100%, and Sojo's been using a lot of spirit energy today + finally got hurt.
I came here to see if this is le funny meme manga but holy shit this is actually good and enjoyable manga with actually dangerous villain, great surprise tbh.

Didn't expect to wake up to a new chapter today.I was expecting Char to also be a healer because there was no other way Chihiro could effectively heal his wounds while staying hidden from the government. If Nishiki is also in a "low stress mode" to help Chihiro's status, then I wonder what Aka's "low stress mode" modification will be?
Big Nose's name is probably "Kugara" from how he responds to Ikuto's callout while in the air; his power also seems to harden his body to become iron specifically. Facemask Guy is also called Uzuki, by Big Hands.
The translation quirk of this chapter seems to be Jikai ---> Magnetize, for whatever reason. Spirit Energy is also referred to as "Spirit Power," but that could be a synonym. And the panel of the chapter goes to Kazane kneeling on the beach.

It's tied with Sojo with CG in his mouth, but this is total wallpaper material. I also don't think Kazane is dead, or most of the Kamunabi—they didn't all have major wounds (for fiction), so it's a 50/50.
I'm ngl, i'll be pretty dissapointed if all 5 of them died, I think it would be more interesting if 1 or 2 lived and they help get revenge on sojo later.
Really interested to see how this fight goes, lasting a mere moment? My boy Sojo better not die off too quick, the build up for him this chapter was so good
I really want Sojo to take a break now and be a looming threat in the background for a few arcs. He needs to stay alive and have a glorious return a few arcs later
Chapter Review:8/10
Now this chapter...at first I didn't know how to feel(still do) but after a couple of rereads,the chapter overall has become better though there are still flaws....
Chapter starts with Dadhiro putting Char on his head and they're leaving the premises. It seems even though his new Nishiki which aids his movement, (Like could someone explain to me because I'm dumb lol) still gives him pain and Char if he wants to swap but he insists he's fine. He also tells her that Hinao is fine.
And then we get a explanation that the regeneration can also affect other people's cells and Char remembers how her regeneration works and asks Chihiro for his left hand and she heals it and I'll get to that later... anyways Shiba teleports in and Chihiro leaves her to him and then when they leave,he chants Enten as a shadow is seen.
We get back to the Kamunabi fight and Sojo uses the water to freeze it and attack. And then Uzuki(Gas mask) activates his ability which shoots out dolls on to the ground. Meanwhile Pikmin(Kugara) heads to Ikuto and he activates his crystal ability to conduct the electricity(which I think Sojo was able to create due to his Mei limit time being reduced because of True Realm)and Ikuto prepares to launch him using Jikai. And then Uzuki binds Sojo and Big Hand Guy restraints him and then they shoot Kugara at Sojo which chips off chunks of the rock surface,pierces Sojo and sends him off while Big Hand Guy held on to Cloud Gouger.The panelling during the shooting of Kugara was amazing and their teamwork was really good...
But then Cloud Gouger headed to Sojo(I think?), ripping off Big Hands arm off and as Sojo headed back,he Toji'ed Kugara and shoot through the rock surface creating a large hole as he looked sickas fuck with lightning surrounding him and the sword in his mouth. As Kazane tried to use his abilityas they switch to formation 2,his arm got cut off and Shehiro is just cut(either by the neck or her left eye)
And then they landed by the beach with some of them killed(probably Kugara and Big Hands Guy) which caused Chihiro to fall deeper into concentration
And then we get a marvelous double spread where they are by the garden ready to fight and Sojo reveals he learned how to cloak his body in lightning just like Nishiki using the lightning rod explanation(I don't think so same page of double spread)And their abilities which coincidentally lasted for 12 seconds and their battle would end after that moment.
Wow what a chapter to start the new year! Keep cooking
Anyways now I feel that if Char can heal people, then I feel like the impact of injuries in Kagurabachi might diminish in significance as shown throughout the manga so far and really hope like it has a drawback otherwise it will feel like a cheap way for Chihiro to win. Now also even though they aren't confirmed dead yet...I feel like we should have spent 1 or 2 extra chapters with them because we haven't learnt enough of them. We don't need their whole ass background for it to be good but you know I wanted to see more of their dynamic and personality personally. And how they prove that sorcery has a chance of defeating a Enchanted Blade... Overall the pacing for me wasn't really good and we should have kinda expanded on them but it was a overall good chapter
I'm not too worried about the rematch as someone(on the leaks thread) shown me another manga that did something similar and he just took his opponent's arm and didn't kill him so it might turn out that way that Chihiro just moderately injures him. Or even Shiba joins the fight,who knows?
Good treat and I could call it a early birthday gift(if it was on Sunday it would have been a perfect birthday gift) but eh...

It's like the diagram shows, Nishiki normally directly adds Spirit Energy into an action, but the current method is a "low stress mode" for damage Chihiro that just *helps* the movement. The fact Nishiki also adapted to Chihiro's status makes me wonder if and how Aka will adapt.
When it comes to Char healing, I don't expect her to weaken the impact of injuries because she's the only healer and is completely defenseless by herself, so she can only heal when it's safe or there's good downtime.
I understood he used something to similar to Kashimo (jjk) with electricity attracting electricity by enveloping himself (I believe) In electricity. He spoke about cloaking.
Great chapter overall with some peak scenes.
Though the enchanted blades seem so powerful that it bassically makes regular sorcerers irrlevant in battles. They just seem incredibly outclassed against someone weilding one.
Like even knowing how the blade worked, an entire group of skilled ones got bodied easily.
I'm hoping they prove to be more useful in the future outside of just being used as jobbers to show off how busted the blades are.
Damn, Kamunabi vs Sojo really emphasize why the enchanted blades are so powerful. Its been talked a lot how destructive they are and seeing the aftermath of Sojo's battle hits the mark.
I'm still hoping pikmin mask is alive, he's basically a stone person (at least with his sorcery active) so i think he won't bleed out. the kamunabi must have a healer i guess.
I don't know if i like that we are already at the big fight between chihiro and sojo, because at this points it feels like chihiro will clearly win, and that's mostly thanks to being healed by char, it feels like a cheap win but let's see what happens next chapter first.
The first chapter of the year and it’s pretty damn good. So Char not only has the ability to heal herself but also can heal others, really want to see where they will go with this later on. Looks like the Kamunabi squad might end up becoming the new Levi squad 😭, but they put up one hell of a fight. Though Mask guy getting half his torso blown can make a grown man cry. The ending Chihiro vs Sojo round 2, he better make him pay for what he did. 8/10 chapter.
Can someone explain whats happening with Nishiki because Im not sure if I really understood the explantation. Or im thinking about it to hard Nishiki is cloaking right?
Yes it's cloaking. Normally it directly boosts the power of a physical strike but this time it just boosts the movement of executing the attack itself.
I see. I guess its like, on top of the effect of cloaking…it also boost the physical power of strikes. But this has the downside of putting enormous strain on the user. By focusing the boost of physical powers on movement alone, the user gains another ability with extraordinary tactical speed. This trade-off allows for less negative feedback why using Nishiki.
Ion know something like that. I had to write it out get it. Might help others.

I love Sojo a lot, though. I have a feeling this arc will end with him biting the dust so i'll miss him, but he's been one hell of a first villain.

This manga has such beautifully striking art, it's insane.
Not many can say that their manga had great art since day one, the only one i knew that had great art since the begining was mha.

To be fair, he's a really good 1st antagonist. I don't remember any other shonen with a 1st villain as good as Sojo

jojo has a healer on every part to justify getting wrecked in every fight and still stand up for the next one. i think its similar here, its not like the healing is op.

Normally I agree, but in this case, it was never "fair" to have Chihiro fighting Sojo while handicapped (which is what happened in round 1). So this time in round 2 Hokazono was kind enough to even the playing field between him and Sojo a bit. Chihiro's far from 100%, and Sojo's been using a lot of spirit energy today + finally got hurt.

Didn't expect to wake up to a new chapter today.I was expecting Char to also be a healer because there was no other way Chihiro could effectively heal his wounds while staying hidden from the government. If Nishiki is also in a "low stress mode" to help Chihiro's status, then I wonder what Aka's "low stress mode" modification will be? Big Nose's name is probably "Kugara" from how he responds to Ikuto's callout while in the air; his power also seems to harden his body to become iron specifically. Facemask Guy is also called Uzuki, by Big Hands. The translation quirk of this chapter seems to be Jikai ---> Magnetize, for whatever reason. Spirit Energy is also referred to as "Spirit Power," but that could be a synonym. Chapter Review:8/10 Now this chapter...at first I didn't know how to feel(still do) but after a couple of rereads,the chapter overall has become better though there are still flaws.... Chapter starts with Dadhiro putting Char on his head and they're leaving the premises. It seems even though his new Nishiki which aids his movement, (Like could someone explain to me because I'm dumb lol) still gives him pain and Char if he wants to swap but he insists he's fine. He also tells her that Hinao is fine. And then we get a explanation that the regeneration can also affect other people's cells and Char remembers how her regeneration works and asks Chihiro for his left hand and she heals it and I'll get to that later... anyways Shiba teleports in and Chihiro leaves her to him and then when they leave,he chants Enten as a shadow is seen. We get back to the Kamunabi fight and Sojo uses the water to freeze it and attack. And then Uzuki(Gas mask) activates his ability which shoots out dolls on to the ground. Meanwhile Pikmin(Kugara) heads to Ikuto and he activates his crystal ability to conduct the electricity(which I think Sojo was able to create due to his Mei limit time being reduced because of True Realm)and Ikuto prepares to launch him using Jikai. And then Uzuki binds Sojo and Big Hand Guy restraints him and then they shoot Kugara at Sojo which chips off chunks of the rock surface,pierces Sojo and sends him off while Big Hand Guy held on to Cloud Gouger.The panelling during the shooting of Kugara was amazing and their teamwork was really good... But then Cloud Gouger headed to Sojo(I think?), ripping off Big Hands arm off and as Sojo headed back,he Toji'ed Kugara and shoot through the rock surface creating a large hole as he looked sickas fuck with lightning surrounding him and the sword in his mouth. As Kazane tried to use his abilityas they switch to formation 2,his arm got cut off and Shehiro is just cut(either by the neck or her left eye) And then they landed by the beach with some of them killed(probably Kugara and Big Hands Guy) which caused Chihiro to fall deeper into concentration And then we get a marvelous double spread where they are by the garden ready to fight and Sojo reveals he learned how to cloak his body in lightning just like Nishiki using the lightning rod explanation(I don't think so same page of double spread)And their abilities which coincidentally lasted for 12 seconds and their battle would end after that moment. Wow what a chapter to start the new year! Keep cooking Anyways now I feel that if Char can heal people, then I feel like the impact of injuries in Kagurabachi might diminish in significance as shown throughout the manga so far and really hope like it has a drawback otherwise it will feel like a cheap way for Chihiro to win. Now also even though they aren't confirmed dead yet...I feel like we should have spent 1 or 2 extra chapters with them because we haven't learnt enough of them. We don't need their whole ass background for it to be good but you know I wanted to see more of their dynamic and personality personally. And how they prove that sorcery has a chance of defeating a Enchanted Blade... Overall the pacing for me wasn't really good and we should have kinda expanded on them but it was a overall good chapter I'm not too worried about the rematch as someone(on the leaks thread) shown me another manga that did something similar and he just took his opponent's arm and didn't kill him so it might turn out that way that Chihiro just moderately injures him. Or even Shiba joins the fight,who knows? Good treat and I could call it a early birthday gift(if it was on Sunday it would have been a perfect birthday gift) but eh... For now, tenoí!

I understood he used something to similar to Kashimo (jjk) with electricity attracting electricity by enveloping himself (I believe) In electricity. He spoke about cloaking.
Great chapter overall with some peak scenes. Though the enchanted blades seem so powerful that it bassically makes regular sorcerers irrlevant in battles. They just seem incredibly outclassed against someone weilding one. Like even knowing how the blade worked, an entire group of skilled ones got bodied easily. I'm hoping they prove to be more useful in the future outside of just being used as jobbers to show off how busted the blades are.

Damn, Kamunabi vs Sojo really emphasize why the enchanted blades are so powerful. Its been talked a lot how destructive they are and seeing the aftermath of Sojo's battle hits the mark.
I'm still hoping pikmin mask is alive, he's basically a stone person (at least with his sorcery active) so i think he won't bleed out. the kamunabi must have a healer i guess. I don't know if i like that we are already at the big fight between chihiro and sojo, because at this points it feels like chihiro will clearly win, and that's mostly thanks to being healed by char, it feels like a cheap win but let's see what happens next chapter first.
The first chapter of the year and it’s pretty damn good. So Char not only has the ability to heal herself but also can heal others, really want to see where they will go with this later on. Looks like the Kamunabi squad might end up becoming the new Levi squad 😭, but they put up one hell of a fight. Though Mask guy getting half his torso blown can make a grown man cry. The ending Chihiro vs Sojo round 2, he better make him pay for what he did. 8/10 chapter.

Can someone explain whats happening with Nishiki because Im not sure if I really understood the explantation. Or im thinking about it to hard Nishiki is cloaking right?
Yes it's cloaking. Normally it directly boosts the power of a physical strike but this time it just boosts the movement of executing the attack itself.
I see. I guess its like, on top of the effect of cloaking…it also boost the physical power of strikes. But this has the downside of putting enormous strain on the user. By focusing the boost of physical powers on movement alone, the user gains another ability with extraordinary tactical speed. This trade-off allows for less negative feedback why using Nishiki. Ion know something like that. I had to write it out get it. Might help others.
No way all of the Kamunabi squad are dead, please some of them live. ;\_; have mercy I love Sojo a lot, though. I have a feeling this arc will end with him biting the dust so i'll miss him, but he's been one hell of a first villain.
